Mountain Mikes Pizza

So, I really hate to write this review. But after today, I feel It’s necessary. I went in this afternoon to order a salad bar, and everything went fine til then. I get to the end of the salad bar and I’m about to finish my salad with croutons, and I notice A LIVE COCK ROACH. I immediately notified the owner, and her response is what prompted this review: her response was irritable when I asked for my money back. She also said ’ it’ happens, it’s only because the door is open.’ No… that’s not ok what’ so ever. It’s mainly her response that was unacceptable to the situation, no manager should be so cavalier when it comes to a cock roach in the food.

Not sure what it is but every time I eat here, my stomach doesn’t feel too hot after — even delivery pizza. I eat it pizza from Mountain Mike’s only if we’re guests at somebody’s home and they order delivery from here.

Never will I go to the lunch buffet again, pizza was sitting out for a long time so it was not looking good and did not taste good either. There was still over 40 minutes left before lunch buffet ended. They did make a new pizza, but it had no flavor. The sauce has no flavor and the lettuce seemed like it was frozen then thawed out. RT so much better!!!

The dough was partially raw and the sauce was flavorless. I have not had a pizza that bad in at least 10 years. Now I know why every time I have walked past, they never had many customers… because the food is terrible.

With so many pizza places in Danville it’s hard to choose. Mountain Mikes is by far my favorite. The staff literally treats you like family and the pizza is pretty darn good. For example, tonight I called ahead for dine in after a long night of Christmas activities with the kids. We were all tired. As we walked in the front door the gentleman at the register calls me by my first name and says my pizza will be ready soon. I was surprised that he knew it was me that had called in 15 minutes prior. We get a table for our party of 9. Pizza came out fast and they came by often to check on us and to play with a one year old in our group. After we enjoy our combo and ½ cheese, ½ pep pizza’s a cinnamon roll like dessert pizza shows up at our table. It was a gift from the staff for Christmas. We were taken back and very thankful but it didn’t end there. Before leaving, the owner brings a toy to the one year old in our group. We were beside our selves and really learned a lot about the generosity of the owners and staff here. We’ll be back again soon.

I ordered 2 large pizzas for a get together of friends. The pizzas looked good with all the right toppings. The problem was the crust was not completely done. Pizza that is not baked to perfection is not worth eating. A bad experience.

An ok place for pizza. The cheese on the pizza is processed and not that fresh. They have lunch buffet which is worth your visit but to order a pizza for dinner you rather go to Pinky’s

Horrible! Period! After an hour and a half of waiting I called and was told the driver was pulling up any minute now. After another 15 minutes it was determined that they never even made the pizza that I ordered for deliver. First and last experience!

BUGS. I just ate there in person for the first time and left with about 15 bites on my feet and ankles. Still itching today.
MOLDY CHEESE. Had to use packets of cheese because all of the Parmesan cheese shakers where covered in mold.
RUDE MANAGER??? Whomever is the main guy is there, he has been rude in the past when ordering for delivery, that should have been my sign.
NEVER will I eat there again OR place an order for delivery if I don’t know what the place looks like.
Gross.

The pizza is fine, the website ordering and phone ordering is not. We have had their pizza off and on for awhile. Once in a while they make a small mistake. This time, they delivered the wrong pizza – So we had to wait an hour for the wrong one, then another 45 minutes or so, for the correct one. The person that answered the phone had trouble speaking and hearing english-​I told him I wanted a McKinley, and to take out the onions and bell peppers and put in pineapple.
My wife was with me when I called it in, so I know I ordered correctly.
What we got an hour later was some kind of chicken pizza.
So I called them to get a replacement sent. The replacement still had the onions and bell peppers and the added pineapple. The only upside, if it is one, was the driver told us to keep the chicken pizza. This was the last time I will attempt to order from this Mountain Mikes.

Service and delivery is always great when I want a pizza. Friendly staff every time I’ve done a pick up.

Coming here from New York we are pizza snobs, and have come to the conclusion that California can’t do really good cheap pizza for delivery. But Mountain Mike’s is the best place we have found so far to deliver to us in Walnut Creek (at least until their online ordering went on the fritz).
The sauce has some flavor without dominating. They are generous with the cheese without overdoing it. And the pies are thick enough to satisfy our kids, yet thin enough to be crispy. My 9 year-​old daughter loves the pepperoni pizza – covered in little pepperoni – about the size of a quarter – that crisps up like bacon.
It’s reasonably priced – especially since the delivery guys don’t take tips – and they deliver on time.
I’d give them 3.5 stars if I could but can’t bring myself to go for 4. Truth is, we are going to keep searching for NY quality pizza.

We’ve been coming to this location a few times from San Ramon even though there are several other Mountain Mike’s around us.
Love their salad bar; always fresh & neat. Very clean place. No loud music; several big screen TVs around and you can watch your fave sport events or current affairs. We’ve always had great experience & that’s why we keep coming back here. Service is super fast. I love their white sauce & ask them to make the pizza very thin; it truly is delicious & I love it. OMG, you’ve got to try their chicken wings, as well! They cater to your needs: thick crust, thin crust, easy sauce, extra sauce, all you have to do, ASK! Polite employees who always serve with a smile. It’s worth the drive to come here to enjoy the salad & just the way they make the pizza according to our liking. Also, we like the fact that there’s Gluten free choice. Hands down & thank you for making us & our tummies happy every time we leave.

Came in for a pizza and was floored with the price 28.99 for a 5 topping pizza… to go when I can come In for lunch special for 6.99…last time I come in to order a piZza here!!!

As a resident of Walnut Creek for 21 years, I have frequented this Mountain Mike’s many times. It was my daughters favorite pizza place. It’s saddens me to say, that we will never purchase anything from this establishment again.
The management is unprofessional, rude, and lacks any form of customer service.

Their garlic sauce pizzas are amazing! We keep ordering the chicken club and robbers roost with white sauce. Even my cheese-​pizza-​only daughter devours these. Only downside is that we have to get the mountain size for family of 4 with the thin crust. Pricey treat.

Came in for a quick dinner. Service was excellent.
I ordered pizza and a drink. Pizza was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Open late on a Sunday night was a bonus for me.
Large flat screen had the game on as well. Another bonus.
I will eat here again!

Put on your buffet pants and come in for lunch! The weekday buffet offers hot pizzas and a cool, fresh salad bar.
The salad bar has a lot of great options — it was my favorite thing about their afternoon buffet. All the typical toppings you find on a good salad bar, and it was really clean. The veggies were crisp and fresh and the ranch dressing was alright.
The pizza selections were mostly meat-​covered. I loved the crispy little pepperonis, but I’m more of a vegetarian pizza person so I was disappointed in the selection of veggie slices. And the one they had wasn’t a great choice. Bell pepper slices isn’t a great vegetarian pizza. How about tomato and olive and mushrooms, and all those great veggies you have on your salad bar? Make something exciting for lunch.
It’s still a good deal, but competing salad/​pizza buffets have slightly better selections for about the same price.

We were looking for a place to grab salad and pizza. We came in to here, the place was completely empty. The salad bar looked old, salads were crusted over. And pizza looked worse.
The lady from the back said «pizza is old and no good»… I asked «so there’s no pizza with the sales bar? «she said no. I asked if she was making more, she said no– mind you this is the during the time pizza and salad bar are advertised. We asked how much it would be for two salads and she said $ 15! My mom said, «$ 15 for just the salad bar and no pizza??» She said, «yes but you may have one slice of what’s out if you’d like» after she told us it was no good???
Needless to say, we decided to go elsewhere.
