The food was decent. I really liked the gnocchi. However, service was horrible. One of the waitstaff spilled my mom’s soda, but didn’t offer to replace the glass she took away or the napkins she used to clean up the mess. Another server threw down her new glass of soda without nary a glance in our direction. Rude and apathetic staff. Never coming back. One star for the service. Three for the food. I give it a 2.

I can not say enough about Sorrento’s. I live in Colorado and at the suggestion of my sister who lives near Sorrento’s, I arranged to have a small reunion luncheon(16 people) in Walnut Creek on May 28th. I set up the reservation with Carly several weeks in advance. She was so helpful on the phone … and later as our server on the day of the event. The event could not have been better. The service we received for our group was wonderful. Carly and the young man who assisted her were fabulous! And the food was outstanding!!! Everyone enjoyed their meal and the restaurant staff(kitchen included) could not have been better to work with that day. Thanks so much to Sorrento’s for the great food and service! I’ll be in for a meal every time I visit California.

I love this place. We have our weekly BNI meeting here and they are so accommodating. Every time I invite someone and tell them that is where we meet the response is usually«Their pizza and food is amazing!» A couple of weeks ago I had a board meeting and ordered 3 pizzas from them. They were really great! The sauce was flavorful without being overbearing. The crust was nice and crispy as I like it. The ingredients were fresh and plentiful. I was the hit of the Board that week! I will be going for dinner there soon to try out their pasta, which I also hear rave reviews about. Do yourself a favor and check out this tasty little neighborhood place. The people are super nice and friendly too!

Our family has been going to Sorrento since it was open back in 1970s. Their pizzas are great. Usually we get a take-out but it is also fun to eat in.

Let me tell you something about Sorrento — not only do they have a great menu with delicious pizza, pasta, and salads– their service is amazing and they really give back to their community. I have first hand experience with them witnessing their kindness with a gentle homeless man on New Years Eve this year and their extremely generous donation to a local school fundraiser. I love that this pizza parlor is a locally owned small business and I will spend my money with them every time. This is exactly the kind of place we want in our communities — Delicious food, great service.

We’ve been fans of Sorrento’s since I was a kid in the late 70’s. I grew up down the street on Carriage Dr. and went to school right next door at Bancroft Elementary. Sundays nights after 5:30 mass at Most Precious Blood(now St. Francis of Assisi) meant a large cheese pizza from Sorrento’s, artichokes and 60 minutes. Watching sports on TV was also a regular occasion for picking up Sorrento’s pizza. Sadly, I don’t live in Walnut Creek any more — I’m way down in Las Vegas, NV. I got an email from my dad this morning that he had fallen. He got 22 stitches in his chin and a few on his hand. Hearing things like this is one of the scariest things for an adult child. This is that time of life where I have my own kids and I still keep an ear an eye out for my parents. Fortunately, dad’s okay. But the picture and the story just hurt my heart. I wanted to do something to let him know I was thinking about him. So I called Sorrento’s to see if I could buy a cheese pizza. One of the owners, Paul, said he’d love to help but they don’t take credit cards on the phone. I asked if there was any chance he’d take a check — knowing what a leap of faith that would take on his part. He hesitated for just the briefest of moments then said, sure, he’d pay for the pizza out of his own pocket and take me on my word that I’d send him a check. This really made my night. Dad will get his pizza and we’ll watch the Warriors set the record for the most wins in a season«together» via facetime. Many thanks, Paul. The check is in the mail(seriously!).

I really wanted to like this place because it seemed like such a cute little spot, and very conveniently located. However, giving it three stars may be too generous. I got the Cannelloni($ 15) and it was extremely bland. The outer edges were scalding hot and had a lot of sauce, then you get to the middle which consisted of very dry meat that was room temperature. The two people with me were also not thrilled by their dishes. The service also seemed a bit all over the place. We had different servers coming up to us throughout our lunch, and they were never on the same page about what we ordered or what we were drinking. Definitely won’t be returning. I would have rather grabbed a burrito from next door for half the price.

Ordered one of the house specialties, Ravioli Pesto and my wife had a veggie pizza. The Ravioli is very mediocre. Too heavy and the pasta was mushy. I had three bites and set it aside. The pizza was ok but there is better pizza to be had near this establishment. Overall, the food was very average and overpriced. Left this huge plate of ravioli and the Waitrsss didn’t even ask if something was wrong, I think she knew so no reason to inquire.

I take my family here for dinner, the main draw for me is their pizza, best in the 20 mile radius for my taste. The crust is like artisan french bread. They don’t skimp on toppings. My wife likes their pasta, raviolis are pretty good, the lasagna is good but a tad too salty. They make great dinner salads. But I’ve never been impressed with their wines.

I’ve been living in different parts of the Bay Area for about at a year now, and have been trying to find an edible and satisfactory pie. I come from the New York metropolitan area, and have strong Italian heritage. Needless to say, it’s been difficult to find a pie that’s on par with me and my family’s standard in our neighborhood. Sorrento’s has been nothing but wonderful to me. Great pizza, wonderful sauce, and above all, tremendous customer service. If you want a genuine Italian pizza in the walnut creek and pleasant hill area, please come here. You won’t be disappointed.

Not too busy for the dinner hour. Mostly older(60+) crowd, possibly because prices were reasonable. Food was soso. Had the petrale sole dore which is fish battered then sauteed. The batter/crust did not stay on the fish upon slicing. Not easy to do but still annoying for the end user. Wife had(can’t remember need to look at menu real quick…) Veal Scaloppini which tasted salted but not overly flavorful otherwise. Waitperson may have been on something, seemed too quick to talk instead of absorb what was said and go to next? or… Forgot what«color» wine my wife was having so of course I said yellow. Place/staff seemed tired/unaffected and uneffective. Not horrible though, just not quite what it should and could be.

My wife and I used to love coming to this place till as of 2÷6÷16 and ill never go back. I don’t Unilocal but this time I had to. It used to be a place with candles low light good food and live music. NOW it so bright in there it’s crazy — I mean look at photo #2 can it get any brighter? service was horrible they never checked in. they used to have a guitar player NO more — pretty bad. The food! The food! oh my — it used to be good but not now! I’m not saying it was the best pasta ever in past but now it’s low grade dog food. I asked the sever what’s going on? all she whispered was(the place is slipping). I was a Saturday night at 7pm and no one was in there REDFLAG. Anyway I will not be waisting my time with that place anymore.

We decided at the last minute to grab some Italian before going to the grocery store. Remembering the local Italian restaurant in Bancroft plaza, we headed over. Sorrento ’ s was packed, but we were seated right away. The restaurant is homey, with lots of servers. We ordered the gnocchi with Pancetta and the calzone. Both were delicious. My husband said it’s the best he’s had in the area, snd that’s saying a lot. He will be back often. We absolutely recommend you try this restaurant.

Well it’s hard to find something in this place that isn’t blan. The pizza, lasagna and the caesar salad was horrible. I don’t even know how you can make a bad caesar. Also i sent my pasta back, because it was not palatable. And the WORSTOFALL! Is the guitarist. The constant deeply loud random strums was very distracting. I will not be returning.

Hands down the worst restaurant I have ever been to. Here’s why: we waited an HOUR for butter noodles, and while we waited our waters were not filled a single time, the garlic bread we ordered was very burnt, and when we asked for it to be boxed and it was left on the counter for a half hour BEFORE being boxed. If this isn’t enough to deter you from eating here, I called the restaurant back after leaving to explain my frustrations and was treated horribly by the lady on the phone. They made NOATTEMPT to compensate for the terrible experience. Don’t go to this«restaurant», you’re better off going to McDonalds instead, the quality and service there is amazing compared to this place.

We were hopeful as looking for a earlier dinner as it seemed every other Italian restaurant in Walnut Creek opened at 5pm. Service ok. Communication of understanding, non existent. The pasta was overcooked and the sauces flavorless and gastric. Sausage flavorless and tough. Half and half order of each our server could not comprehend. I should have taken heed of the signs. Been around forever but only nil reviews. Empty dining room. Salad was pretty decent though. Leftovers still in the refrigerator. Charged extra for my kid asking for gnocchi with alfredo. Hence just a bit ticked overall as was not worth the $ 70.00 for two adults/child for less than mediocre food.

Sorrento’s, an Italian restaurant hidden away in a corner of the Countrywood shopping center, has a lot going for it. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and were pleased to find they were open all afternoon, even around 3:30. The squash ravioli sounded delicious — and it was! Huge, homemade ravioli pasta squares packed with a delicious squash. And the service was friendly, energetic and informative. We learned it has been here since 1975, a family-run restaurant now on its second generation of family. A restaurant is not going to survive that length of time without being both well-managed and providing a quality experience for its patrons. If, like us, you didn’t know about Sorrento’s, the only negative is this somewhat hidden location. Unless you stumble upon it, it’s not easy to know it’s there. Basically, it’s around the corner from CVS. Go from CVS towards Treat, but turn right just past CVS instead of going out the exit. This will lead you to the corner that contains Countrywood Fitness and Sichuan House. And Sorrentos.

Home of the best pizza lunch combo EVER. I’ve driven past Sorrento’s on numerous occasions and it’s one of those places you say«Well, one of these day’s I will try them out.» My friends. that day has come. A friend took me their for lunch on Friday. It’s a lot bigger on the inside then you would guess judging from the outside. We both ordered the lunch combo which consists of a personal pizza with your choice of toppings, a salad with choice of dressing, plus it comes with a bread basket. All of it for under ten dollars not including a drink. I ordered a sausage and cheese pizza, keeping it simple. When the pizza showed up it was a lot bigger then I was expecting. It looked more like a «small» pizza then a «personal» pizza, but no complaints. The cheese was was gooey, tasty, and yes, greasy. I can look past the grease though because the entire pizza was just fantastic. The cheese, the toppings and the crust just tasted of quality. The service was great as well. Never had to ask for refills on water because just as we were getting low the same guy would come in and save the day. Our server had a friendly demeanor, great smile and just made us feel welcome. This place is everything you want for a lunchtime spot.
