This is a hidden GEM! It is in the Cellar of a beautiful Old Bed and Breakfast. My husband took me here for date night and I was soooo happy with his choice! The atmosphere is amazing! It is so cozy and romantic! I ordered the Salmon and it was the best I have ever had! The hubby really liked his Steak too. He wanted the Elk Steak, but they had just ran out. The Ban Ban Shrimp was great too. You will need to go with some $$$ though. We ordered drinks, wine, shared an appetizer, two meals and shared a desert with and after dinner drink and it was over $ 200 with a tip. We would defiantly go back for special occasions! I would like to get back for Tapas night too! Enjoy

Well I wanted to love this place. But as usual I’m going to be honest and realistic with my review. The exterior of the restaurant/building is Impressive. It’s romantic and cozy, walking down the walkway into the greeting area makes you feel like your going into a secret place people don’t know about. That being said, I can’t help but feel its one of these places thats trying really hard to LOOK and FEEL fancy but its a little overkill or poorly executed. What I mean by this is, if you look at the details like the wall fixtures and panting, or murals, a lot of it is cheap looking and basically fake. I’m nitpicking here clearly but its things like that that make me just roll my eyes. On to the food, we took the servers recommendation on the Smoked duck flat bread, having talked it up, and loving duck, we gave it ago… Then 30 mins passed, which for any appetizer is a little ridiculous! not only that but it was not that impressive or tasty, it was just Meh, a oily, breaded creation, that just missed the mark for us. Also taking the servers recommendation, I ordered the special not on the menu item, of a large tomahawk streak covered with crab on a bed of mash potatoes and spinach. My GF had the scallops dish, which was very good, and I tasted some of, fresh, great flavor. My steak however, being talked up as an aged piece of meat and being talked up a lot I was expecting more from it. It was bland, however perfectly cooked to my request of Med Rare, it had very little flavor of its own, I have eaten /cooked a lot of aged meats and this was by far the least tasteful one I have ever had, almost like it was not seasoned or seasoning was omitted,(salt and pepper) all together. I can say I had much higher expectations for this place. after such raving reviews(which honestly I have become used to dealing with in most Hampton roads locations sadly that don’t fit the bill), The best part of my meal, and I feel dumb mentioning it was the compound butter served with the bread, and we got pretty used to the bread and butter having to wait 30 mins for an Appetizer :)
