This a a beautiful, historic home, marred by the unfortunate reality that it is currently in a modestly upscale modern residential development. The establishment is also a restaurant at night — they ask if you want a reservation when you check in. We didn’t — but wish we had: when we returned for the night there was no parking available until the restaurant closed at 11pm. I had to move our car off the residential street. when parking became available. We stayed in the«carriage house» — a renovated carriage house that contains 3 rooms and a common area. The entertainment center had a few games and a TV. The refreshment area was completely empty. There were cookies chips and coffee available back over in the main house. Strange. I think ¾ of the guests were in the carriage house this weekend. Missing amenities in this space is a real missed opportunity. Breakfast…unexpectedly mundane. As we walked in, the place smelled great — fresh veggies cooking, Hint of sweet onion in the air. We later decided that must have all been from the restaurant kitchen prepping for open later. A pleasant but somewhat haggard gentlemen greeted us and seated us in the nook — 5 tables, 3 couples including us. We were given two choices: biscuits and gravy or a sausage and broccoli frittata. My companion had a biscuit and fresh eggs, I tried the frittata. It was rather disappointing. Two hints of sausage, less broccoli, and devoid of flavor. It had risen quite nicely… The room itself was clean and comfortable. They need to spend more time vacuuming to catch the moths and spider webs — not unexpected in a country setting, but not appreciated. The staff we encountered was friendly.

This B&B is the best I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in a lot, the house is just spectacular, old world charm, beautiful large rooms filled with antiques, every room is just as special as the next, great for sitting with a good book or a cozy get together. Outside porches with rockers to enjoy the fresh air. Take a walk down a wooded path to the inlet and just drink in the peace! I stayed in the twin room on the third floor with my sister for four nights and loved our room, cozy and quaint with beds built into the wall, such old world charm! Breakfast each morning was scrumptious and served with style. The innkeepers Klaus & Christianna were so friendly and helpful, they saw to our very need! I would highly recommend this B&B
