Interesting and fun but not for the cost. Go when you can get a grouon or twofer.

A pleasant stop and an opportunity to get out of the sun for a few minutes and learn. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and well spoken. Answered questions well. The tour is short — less than an hour, but appropriately paced and not boring. The most interesting details are about mistakes made in the renovation and missed opportunities over the decades.

Elizabeth, our guide at the Adam Thoroughgood House was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a good overview while seated in the office. She explained how they determined the actual age of the house revised against traditional lore that placed it at an earlier time. The property is lovely with gardens, view of the river and on site modern restrooms. Access was somewhat confusing because of the construction on Thoroughgood Rd, a block or two short of the turn onto Parrish Rd, locals gave us directions.

A little piece of history right in my neighborhood! Did you know that the Adam Thoroughgood house is one of the oldest houses from early Colonial period in Princess Anne County? Not only is this a historical site but boasts some beautiful scenery with large trees and brick lined manicured gardens. The pergola covered by wisteria is my favorite part and has a pretty view of Bayville Creek off of the Lynnhaven Bay. My dog I like to take a break from our walk on the bench here. I am actually sitting here while I write this review!
