Thought this place would be more restaurant the store but it was the opposite. Had the northlander(good but too small for the price. A $ 10 sandwich with no sides should be more filling in my humble American opinion) The crotan salad wrap was very good if you add chicken and that will make it $ 9. With out the chicken it’s kinda light in content. The one Fountain machine struggled to support the demand of customers that wanted ice. Bathrooms need attention. Not a bad experience but I won’t be back.

Super cute location. It’s two stories and they have a huge selection in their market section(including fresh produce outside!!) I love their chicken Caesar salad and apricot tea(with in insane amount of sugar packets because it comes unsweetened!) We also tried their Cobb salad but as a wrap, and it was utter disappointment. The egg was completely outside of the wrap, and the wrap was falling apart upon opening the wrapper! It also could have used some dressing, because it was pretty«dry» and had no real flavor to it. We ended up sharing the Caesar dressing that came with my salad and it was good! Would I come back and try? sure. I love what Taste has to offer but this experience wasn’t the best.

Love this place. Some of the best sandwiches I have ever tried. Been here a few times with friends and always leave satisfied.

Two stars because staff is always nice. I give up on you guys, I have been a customer for many years and use to love the sandwiches. Today was my last attempt to see if you get it right ever! I ordered the turkey with hot house what I’ve ordered for 20+ years now the sandwich was dry(hardly any hot house on it) and I’m quite sure only about 3 ounces of turkey on it wilted lettuce and 2 very small slices of tomato. I have complained in person in the past and I am always offered a replacement or an apology I am over having to complain.

Great casual place to grab a sandwich for lunch. Sandwich was of excellent quality and really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. Will definitely be coming back for lunch again.

Nice restaurant. I ordered the«Hilltop» and was disappointed. The sandwich was a bit boring. The«Hilltop» was just turkey, cheese, and dressing. Maybe next time, I will get lettuce and onions added. Or I’ll just order something more«adventurous.» I’ll probably be back. I really liked the selection of snacks they had. I ordered the Thai Coffee Latte drink, and quickly exchanged it for something else. Don’t get that drink! Overall, friendly staff and good environment.

I love the atmosphere. They have a beautiful outside eating area and plenty of space on the second floor. They offer a wide arrangement of products. The service was a little slow but it was during the lunch time rush. Unfortunately they didn’t have the chicken salad during this visit. I loved the chips and chocolate cluster that I bought. I also love that they offer free samples. The food is a little expensive but really tasty.

I’ve been here twice now and honestly, I’m underwhelmed. I ordered the Freemason. Chicken salad with bacon on a whole grain roll and the Pungo BBQ roll. Plus a brownie and a bag of chips. Altogether, it was $ 18 and some change. That’s not too pricey but the Freemason really wasn’t that good. It was completely under seasoned and not even the bacon could save it. NOTEVENTHEBACONCOULDSAVEIT. My husband wasn’t crazy about his food either. On the positive side, I really like the whole grain roll and the brownie was yummy. I felt like we probably could have gotten better sandwiches for less at the Wawa around the corner.

Great sandwiches. We were visiting from out of state, so we have only eaten here once. Our daughter and son-in-law live locally and have been here numerous time. We will definitely be back on our next visit.

Usually pretty good… this location is definitely the fastest. I gave 3 stars because some of our recent visits have been a little questionable. That being stated, the food is always very fresh and the atmosphere is somewhat welcoming. We decided to dine at Taste for dinner this week. I chose the lobster roll sandwich and my significant other chose his norm accompanied with a side of house dressing. We arrived back at the house to eat and I noticed the ‘lobster roll’ was not a traditional lobster roll. I felt like it was along the lines of false advertising because the Taste in Norfolk actually serves it on a roll. I wouldn’t have cared but the brioche was hard as a rock, almost like the bag had been sitting out open for over a day. Very obvious to touch so whoever made the sandwich carelessly slopped it together. The most expensive sandwich on the menu was served on the oldest bread. My significant other was also upset the side of house dressing was forgotten. We know this review won’t change the amount of clients… bur just pay attention guys! People are spending their hard earned money on a nice meal… make it nice for them… not unsatisfactory. We are going to start checking bags before we leave the next time we decide to come back. It’s just too much money to spend on food for fair quality and service. Thanks.

But… where’s…the…flavor? So, I stopped here one day after an entire morning of errands. I was FAMISHED and looking forward to stopping at a local gourmet shop. Usually, when I’m starving, everything tastes soooo good. That was not the case here. I ordered the Lynnhaven sandwich and was sorely disappointed. sigh. It was probably the most flavorless sandwich I’ve ever had. I was shocked because the woman who rang me up suggested this! Other than the sandwich I had, I’d like to comment about the actual«market» part of the store. Taste Unlimited offers a wide variety of gourmet and specialty food items. They also had a cute selection of tote bags and picnic bags. Finally, there was a decent size collection of wines. The décor and set up is a little confusing especially if you’re a first timer to ordering/picking up prepared food. I was visibly out of sorts in the store, but the employees never offered to assist with anything… they kind of let me wander until I figured things out. Such was the case with others who were also newcomers. That’s very off putting. All in all, I probably wouldn’t return to dine in or take out, but I would be open to going back to check out the gourmet/specialty food items.

I was a little surprised that this place is pretty much a sandwich place with specialty foods. Like if a small boutique had a baby with Panera. This location is super adorable. It looks like a barn that was converted into a restaurant. There’s outdoor seating with picnic tables. Inside there are tall, tall shelves with organic and homemade specialties. I like the feel. Now, the food. The had the Freemason, a chicken salad sandwich with bacon on whole wheat bread. They make their food organic with fresh ingredients. The big winner: THEBREAD. It is fresh baked deliciousness. My boyfriend got a sandwich on French bread. Wow!!! It’s got a crispiness to it but the inside is perfectly baked. I wonder if I can just buy a loaf of it. Awesome. I’d be back, but it’s a little pricey for a damn sandwich.

Good sandwiches. Very fresh. Restaurant is also very appealing. Great outdoor barn-style seating, awesome for a sunny day! Looks very nice inside. Has an organic rustic-feel. Customer service is good. Very nice and welcoming. Food delivery is pretty fast. Food is very fresh and dressing sauce is good. I would give this place 4 stars but i just can’t because these sandwiches are just way too pricey and way too small, and I’m still hungry! I got the cheapest, «simplest» sandwich«the hilltop» for 6.99. And I’m still hungry. That didn’t include a side or a drink. My wife got her sandwich for 8.99, also no drink or side. For two sandwiches I spent 17.82 including tax! Sandwiches are very tasty, I just hate leaving a restaurant hungry and paying that much.

Great, kid-friendly and relaxing place to try interesting products… The wine selection looked good. They have been offering gelato and farmers’products. It was free and easy to park.

This family owned business has something that every gourmet sand which shop should take notes on. Standards and more standards! I actually had the pleasure of working for this company on a short term basis before the birth of my baby girl. Having worked in the food industry before, I can honestly say, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that after managing the sand which line at this company I would still eat their food NOQUESTIONSASKED! Their adherence to standards is second to none. Great food! Great atmosphere! Great experience, all around!

Unique great lunch experience. Tons of creative sandwiches and salads. Novelty healthy quick lunch. Loved the sandwich of the day with Roast Beef. Amazing salads filled with fresh veggies and avocado. Friendly service willing to let you have a taste of everything. A fun store area to walk through after your meal with all different dips, sauces, cheeses and wine.

i love the design and the layout of the store but not so much the food. Its a barn style self service sandwich place, that also sells wine, beer, sauces, pasta etc . Its spacious with a 2nd level for dine in customers. Outside seating also available for those warm summer nights.

This place is awesome. I’m not from VA, but I have occasion to visit about once per month. I always come eat here. For lack of a better description, it’s a sandwich shop/Deli — think Whole Foods meets Subway. But that doesn’t do it justice. They make everything on site — they roast the beef, they bake the bread(several varieties — I recommend the«Rustic Baguette» etc. They have daily specials & one they call«Peter’s Pick» — which comes with small bag of chips & a drink for about $ 9. It has yet to disappoint. There’s also a fairly wide variety of mostly locally sourced food items to take home — everything from craft beer to crab dip. They don’t really need it, but they have a nice loyalty program. Every so often you get a free sandwich or dessert. Its always busy, but service is very fast and also very friendly. You can eat there(decent amount of seating inside/upstairs) and if it’s nice, you can eat outside on picnic tables. They also feature local artist’s work on the wall(available for purchase if you see something that suites you!). Really just a local jewel. Well done Taste! (oh yeah, they have a couple of other locations — check their website)

I must admit… I’ve had Taste Unlimited food(catered) before, but I’ve never visited any of the locations. OK… so I kinda like fell in love! The staff are friendly and professional! There is something about an establishment that prepares healthy fresh food and has a wide selection of healthy snacks and drinks(and wine). I’m not overly impressed that they allow dogs inside(maybe because I don’t own a dog and I’m not comfortable being around all dogs), but I love the nice friendly atmosphere!
