My dealership quoted me $ 100 for brake pads + $ 200 labor (I bought the pads = $ 100)
Avenue Auto quoted me $ 86 (per hour of work)
Charged me $ 68.
I’d say that’s a win for me!
Small waiting area — 4 chairs + vending machine, but it’s warm enough.
Front desk: Brian is very pleasant and nice. Never tried to up-​sell me, didn’t have an attitude with my weird request (placing previously bought brake pads) like Goodyear did, and payed attention (unlike the other Verona Auto Shop). I called last Thursday and they got me in on Monday (versus a week out on ALL other places).

Not recommended at all. This mechanic is the type of place that give all mechanics a bad rap. (Even though that is not the case, but when one mechanic screws you over it makes it hard to trust the rest.) I took my car in to get fixed for a specific issue. They talked me into doing a couple of additional things on top of it, I was not crazy about it but agreed. When I went in to pick it up was given the invoice, paid the $ 330 bill and drove home. The car was still doing the same thing as before. I called back to ask about what was fixed and why it was not working and to bring it back in. The guy on the phone started to hassle me for taking the car before it was done being fixed. What? Then he hung up on me. He was an absolute jerk who doesn’t fix cars but rather take my money.

Check on parts for your car before they quote you. When I asked why the parts price was twice the amount of the most expensive online, they said they would be able to put it in if I brought my own part. Well great… except now that I wasn’t paying several hundred dollars more for their part, I had to wait 3 days to get my car in instead of today like I was originally told. NOT an honest repair shop.

I’ve entrusted my 14 year old car to the trusty mechanics here for five years. Estimates are very competitive. They repair only what you ask of them. Prior to any work the owner calls with a recommendation and cost estimate. I’ve never waited longer than three days for an appointment and all repairs were completed in one day.
