I ordered to-go but I got a look at the inside — nothing all that impressive. The food was delicious and they made it right(which is important because I have such a picky girlfriend). Pork fried rice and sweet and sour chicken… Sooooo good. Will be back.

As always this place delivers with flying colors. An unassuming building hides the best Chinese food in vancouver! We will always come back here and recommend this place to our friends! Our favorites are the general taos chicken, the giant egg rolls, and the awesome chow mein!

I honestly don’t know what the goddamn hell we were thinking when we went here. We were like hey, it’s Friday and we’re starving before a movie… okay let’s go here. We told ourselves that it probably had awesome chinese food because typically the dive chinese places have the most bomb diggity food. What. The. Hell. We realized once we got in that all of the cars in the parking lot were the drunks in the bar who were clearly not there for the food. We sat down at a table that was so filthy… the walls had splatters of food on them and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for years. We should have left at this point. I am writing this really surprised that we didn’t leave at this point. My husband said«I’m unsure about this.» After we ordered LOL! I said welp, we already committed now. I actually had only a couple of bites because I lost my appetite. All of this maybe… MAAAAAYBE(big maybe) could have been overlooked if the food was good… but it was not. I felt like they served us their leftovers from the night before. Honestly, I don’t even care about the food. Guys, I just can’t get over how goddamn gross this place was. What the F(#*$. How did it even pass the food inspection?! On the plus side, service was reasonable. Haha. Just don’t do it. Don’t. I’m telling you.

Was out and about shopping and decided to try this place. It is a dive, but you never know. .could be great. Lots of cars in the parking lot. Well it was not good. Very dirty inside. The walls had never been cleaned. The food could be good if it wasn’t so salty and over soy sauced. The service was pleasant. But they need to work on taste and cleanliness.

I’ve had their food at least six times and although it’s the standard chinese I do worry on the sanitatry side. I love the fried shrimp, pork fried rice and pork chow mein. Fried shrimp with hot mustard is my soft spot. But when pulling in you see a run down building and going in side it’s very old 70’s style. The waitress I know has been a long time employee and she is very polite and helpful but again I wonder how clean the kitchen is. Two of those times the fried shrimp was not de-veined and that was very upsetting. Note to the kitchen(if it’s not cleaned don’t serve it) The prices are very good as a one person lunch costs about $ 8.00 and is a full meal plus half. The building is a good size and has a hard bar. I see alot of potential in this place as it has a good location and size. It just needs a new owner and some investment. Maybe Gordan Ramsee could kick this place up a notch.

Went for late lunch on a Friday; waitress was pleasant, but food was so American Chinese I considered leaving before ¼ of the way through. All the«mild» food was seasoned hot including the rice, which resembled«Rice-a-roni». The place is a throwback to the 60’s with formica counters and old carpeting, broken booths… will definitely steer clear on my quest for Chinese food near Salmon Creek area

Karaōke on a slow Saturday night. Ordered food just before the kitchen closed. Food was bland, one of the orders was wrong, and they refused to remake it. staff was friendly and removed the charge for the incorrect meal. I would not go back.

Nothing fancy inside but the food is great and the service had been outstanding every time. The woman working has always been very helpful to recommend new things that we would like or help us decide. Portions are large and it is a great deal. This is the only place we get Chinese food in Vancouver.

Oh god! The food was so bad I didn’t even eat it. I’m used to having awesome Chinese food and this was terrible! The inside looks like its from the 70’s and the booth we sat in was falling apart! Worst place I’ve ever eaten at!

The food is OK. And always hot. In fact take out is still pipping hot when I get home which is about 15 minutes away. The décor is very outdated and the inside of the restaurant needs some work. I went at 11:40am on a Thursday. The place opens at 11:30. The carpet was VERY dirty and needed to be vacuumed badly. There is was too much clutter around the cash register and you can see into the area with the condiments. Also very cluttered. The floor in those areas were dirty as well. Not at all what you would expect from a restaurant that opened 10 minutes prior. It was obvious that who ever closed the restaurant the night before didn’t clean up. I would have given this place a better rating but when you see the shape of the restaurant the food was cooked in you may lose your ability to really enjoy it. A new coat of paint and someone cleaning the floors would improve this place greatly.

This is the sister restaurant to Silver Dragon. It’s a complete dive(think 1970’s & dark) and I’ve never been in the bar, but it is the best Chinese food in Vancouver, WA, hands down.(Having just tried the House of Beijing, they may be neck and neck, not sure yet). The red sauce has a kick to it that makes it perfect. The bbq pork is the best I’ve had anywhere in the world. The egg rolls are huge, a bit greasy(the way I like them), full of yummy veggies and pork and delicious. The chicken subgum chow mein is fresh & tasty and comes with those big, crunchy noodles(a carb lover’s dream). The pork fried rice is very flavorful & the egg foo young is to die for.

So I go by this Chinese food place and it says Karaōke Thurs-Sat. I like Karaōke and I like the food at Star House even better. One Saturday night, not being sure what time Karaōke starts, I call to find out. The waitress says she’s not sure either, but thinks it starts at 9. Turns out it started at 8. I get there and there’s 10 people in the lounge and 2 guys that can barely sing running the show. I guess they didn’t want to intimidate anybody. I ordered a drink. It came… I drank. I ordered dinner. I ate. Wrote down 3 song titles. One of the DJs spent a good 30 minutes complaining that they were getting tired of listening to themselves and wouldn’t somebody please sign up to sing. I’ve got three song written down on official Karaōke Song Request Forms and nobody is coming to my table to collect them, although the one DJ had been to everybody else’s table. I finally go up to the DJs with my songs and they both look away. What is this??? So I walk back to my table. I’ll be darned if I’m going to beg anybody to sing Karaōke. Finally, after we had paid our bill, the DJ came to our table and asked if I wanted to sing. No, said I. To the restaurant. I love your food, but you gotta get somebody who knows what the heck they are doing with Karaōke. Kudos to the Bar. The bourbon on the rocks I ordered was at least a double by anybody else’s standards and it was only $ 2.50. What a shame. Had such high hopes and it was such a let down to be ignored. 5 stars for the food and 5 stars for the drink and 0 stars for the Karaōke… equals, well, 3 stars. News to the DJs. When warm bodies walk in and open the karaōke song book and start writing, go to their table and collect the song slips. If you don’t make table calls, let the newbies know how it works in your club.
