worst food ever, ever, no flavor, dry meat, sweet and sour chicken had no sweet & sour sauce, Mongolian beef, had a pound of green bean no spice at all, the honey walnut shrimp had a off putting test to it, the wan ton hard small, uneatable. pot stickers chewy no flavor , Vacaville needs a good chines food restraint. I will never buy anything from there again, not even if I’m starving.

I found a big hair in between my food couldn’t eat after I saw that. Never coming back food wasn’t good either. Place was dirty and smelled funny.

So I tried this place for the first time tonight. The food was very bland and no real flavor. The chow mein had a very weird smell and taste. The BBQ pork appetizer tasted freezer burned and was very dry and some pieces were almost crispy. The beef and broccoli and pork fried rice wasn’t that good. The kung pao shrimp had shrimp that weren’t deveined. I won’t be going back.

No way!!! Nasty place! Bathrooms filthy and you can see the kitchen on the way to the bathroom and it looks dirty and cramped. You can smell the sewer there too. I had already ordered when I went to the bathroom, if I had gone first, I wouldn’t have eaten here. Food was warm and I ordered sweet and sour pork, pineapple was stone cold. Fried rice had a funny taste that soy sauce couldn’t even cover up. Some of the pork was fatty and chewy and some of it tasted funny, I mean real funny.

I live right around the corner, it is very convenient for me. The food is delicious! I get the won ton soup which is off the hook! The chicken fried rice is bomb! Lemon Chicken is superb! And to make your experience that much better the lady that rings you up has excellent customer service! I give this restaurant 5 stars!

Chased out of the house by a water outage, hubby and I wanted Chinese. Our first choice was closed on a Tuesday, so we ended up at Golden Palace. I like eating at local restaurants, and while reviews were mixed this seemed like an OK place to try. We were very sadly mistaken; hubby and I agreed that this was some of the worst food we have ever eaten. While the tables and floors were clean, the restroom sink looked filthy and a quick glance in the back of the kitchen(near where the restroom was) made me concerned – the kitchen looked untidy and very crowded and cramped. We had lukewarm water in tiny, slightly cloudy glasses, and decided on the schechuan chicken and general’s chicken. The schechuan chicken had a weird, funky odor, like old mop water; the only thing I know that smells that way –other than old mop water – is fish sauce, so it could have been that. But since that was about all the flavor in the dish, other than garlic, it was distinctly unpleasant. I had a passing worry that possibly the chicken was spoiled – I sincerely hope that is not the case! There were mixed veggies, slightly cooked, which seemed fresh; I ate those. The general’s chicken was not like a typical general tso’s chicken; it was fried chicken chunks in some kind of salty soy sauce, with a lot of onions; not much flavorful spice at all. Both dishes were very, very hot(temperature wise), that much I can say. The rice tasted old, kind of dry and stale on top, like it might have been sitting for a while. Even my fortune cookie was a disappointment – it made me laugh, it was such the last straw – as my fortune inside was a thin sliver of paper with no writing on it, as though it were the bottom half of a fortune! We paid over $ 20 for 2 meals, and ate them because we were hungry and because we’d paid. They were downright terrible, and I will not be back.

I wanted to love Golden Palace, I really did. Sadly the food is just okay. It’s not great, and I think the cook may need a few cooking lessons. Just because you are Chinese does not mean you are a good enough cook to do it professionally. The spring rolls came out with a bright red sweet and sour sour sauce, that I think was left over from when that crap was popular in 1983. We pushed it aside and ate the spring rolls with no sauce, and they were actually very nice. I really would have liked some duck sauce, or perhaps a sweet chili sauce with them though. They had a good flavor, but the filling was a little dry. My daughter ordered the sweet and sour shrimp. She got a large plate filled with breaded, fried shrimp, and topped with green peppers, onions, and the above mentioned sweet and sour sauce. She liked her dish. I ordered the Golden Palace Shrimp, which the menu says is shrimp sauteed with water chestnuts and onions, served in a spicy sauce. I got the same breaded, friend shrimp as my daughter, with no water chestnuts or onions, in a garlicky sweet and sour sauce… I’m sensing a theme thing here. It was weird, and it was not what I wanted. I would have complained but the nice older gentleman(probably the owner?) serving us looked frightfully busy, and I didn’t have the heart to make his day tougher. If you can’t make a good first impression make a lasting one…

The only reason we went here is because Hisui 2 was closed… We were starving finishin up last minute Christmas shopping… The lady waiting tables was so nice but sadly, The beer was he only good thing about this place! When we sat down and our plates were brought to us I just happened to pick up the plate… I felt a thick residue on the bottom of the plate so I flipped it over… OMG I could have scratched off the filth with my finger nail… So gross we should have ran for the door at that very moment but we were starving and like to support local business so we stayed! Plus we had already ordered a beer and we really needed a drink after all the crazy shopping we had done! We got wonton soup and pot stickers both honestly were terrible and we couldn’t even choke them down… And it was way over priced! First I’m not quite sure what kind of meat was in them and it looked as if it wasn’t fully cooked… the soup… well as soon as it was brought to our table had a foul smell… It smelled as if old towels had been soaking in the broth! And the broth had NO Flavor other then water and funky towel! I’m never one to leave food especially when it’s over priced, I’ll usually choke it down but my husband and I just couldn’t! I don’t know how this place stays in business!

Honey walnut prawns are where it is at. This may just have hit the Vacaville favorite list. Hostess talked to us too much. And it always weirds me out when the cook and family hang out in the closest booth to the kitchen but again you can tell them you enjoyed the food if you did. Lunch menu is disorganized and they need to find a competitive price range and with that we may just see them around for awhile!

I received a message disguised as a compliment asking me to take down my review. I stand by my reviews, I’m honest and I don’t play favorites or remove reviews because someone’s friend asks me to. Otherwise Unilocal is just a way to promote a business that needs to IMPROVE and people are mislead. To the owner– fix your food, clean your restaurant and your business will improve as well.

The waitress is the only reason I am giving 2 stars. The food was terrible. The«crab wontons» had little to no crab and were very greasy. The chow fun had no flavor. The general chicken was soggy. We did like the honey walnut shrimp, not enough to go back though. AND it was $ 60 for that and 2 bud lights.

The food here is amazing! I always go with the chicken fried rice. The portions are bountiful and the taste is impeccable. Service is super friendly, this isn’t your traditional Chinese restaurant, here they take care of you.

I stopped in for lunch the other day and the place was empty. I thought to myself«oh boy, this will suck»… but it didn’t! I had lemon chicken and some veggies… and the food was fresh, the service was attentive, and the prices were fair. Don’t let the strip mall setting fool you, it’s worth stopping in and having lunch. In all, it was a nice surprise in a town I know nothing about…

I’m not an expert when it comes to Chinese food by any means but if I like something, I sure like it. Came in here on a whim, saw good Unilocal reviews and decided to grab some take out. The place was totally empty in the middle of the afternoon and I was greeted by a SUPER friendly lady who kindly gave me a menu and asked me if I worked around the area. We struck up a great conversation and realized that one of her regulars was a co-worker of mine and suddenly we were buddy buddy. Ordered the lunch special Golden Palace Chicken with chow mein. Unlike other places, you can’t ask them to split the side into half rice/half noodles(that’s personally my favorite way to to do it). The nice lady explained to me why it wasn’t possible — something about how the wok they use is really hot and it’s not a gas stove and she doesn’t want small portions of rice and noodles to get burned because it ruins the taste. LONGSTORYSHORT, got the noodles and the Golden Palace Chicken. This chicken is fried in a batter and comes out HOT red with lots of spicy garlicy flavor. I was in love with it. It’s not super crunchy and crispy but the flavor is there and the meat is tender. Before I left, the lady gave me a take out menu and told me to come back again real soon. She of course had to mention she was Taiwanese, but that in no shape or form impacted my decision to rate high or low. She was fun and the rest of the staff was friendly too. On that note, tip: BRINGCASH. If your tab is less than $ 15, using debit or credit will result in a $ 0.75 charge. Even the nice Tawainese lady told me to have cash next time.

Hubba was in the mood for duck and I was craving my favorite pan fried noodles so we decided to go here and we loved it. Service: The server was excellent. She was quick to seat us, serve us and refill our cups and very nice. However, I believe they were two cooks in and they were sitting at a table I didn‘t like how one lady was looking at my husband and I when we walked in. On a brighter note, when my daughter woke up our server was making sure she was ok and gave us watermelon which was pretty cool. Venue: Pretty comfortable pretty paintings a little small, but it was okay because it wasn‘t busy at all and she even accommodated my daughter who was napping in her car seat at the time. Food:The food was delicious!!! even down to the rice, hearty proportions. We had to take our food home because we couldn‘t finish it! My only request would be that in the pan fried noodles to cut off the skins on the cucumbers because it made it taste bitter, Bleh. Hubba says, «The duck was really crispy and good.»(His first time eating crispy skin duck) WOULDDEFINITELYRECOMMEND(:

I was not impressed with this place. The food was not very good and I will not be returning. The hostess was very friendly though.
