So I went on my Unilocal app after 9 pm because my family was craving Chinese food. All the other places were closed. Except for Turlock Chinese Restaurant. It didn’t state it. So I decided to call and a Chinese man answered the phone took my order. I thought they stayed open longer than the rest. When I went to pick up my order I seen they were actually closed and stated it on their Window hours. So Thankful. Thank You Guys Will be back soon.

The only thing good was the price. I could not understand the waitress the food was bad and the ice tea was old

By far, the best Chinese food in Turlock! The portion size on the orders in amazing, plenty of leftovers! I used delivery option and the delivery guy was very quick and very nice, I appreciated his service tremendously! They have the best Lemon Chicken I have ever had! I will definitely be ordering from there again and along for the same delivery guy!

I’m not really sure how this place has stayed in business for as long as it has… Granted, my review is based on just one visit. However, that visit was enough to keep me away. First of all, the interior of the place is pretty old and run down. Most of the booths and chairs had rips in the cushions and there was even a huge dead fly stuck between the menu on the window and the glass. That should’ve been a sign to stay away! I ordered a combo plate with garlic chicken and Kung pao chicken. Both were weird, soggy textures and tasted so similar to each other that they were pretty much indistinguishable. The chowmein was bland and oily. We also ordered the pineapple fried rice, which was somewhat decent but too salty, completely opposite from the chow mein. The worst though, was the Korean bbq ribs. They were so dry, tough, and flavorless. We all had one bite and that was it. We threw out most of the food because it was pretty much inedible. Pity, because the portions were huge!

Best Chinese cuisine in Turlock. The pot stickers are delicious! The waiter Jeff and his wife Pi are the most sweet and welcoming people around.

Now that Panda South is closed, I needed to find a new place for Chinese food in Turlock. No one I knew had ever eaten here, so I decided to give this place a try. When I walked in for lunch, the restaurant was empty. I took a seat in the booth. I noticed that the vinyl was torn up in a lot of places, and repaired with green tape. I ordered hot tea to drink, which was not free. Not an auspicious start. After waiting a few minutes, I poured some tea into my cup. It looked clear. I poured the water back into the pot to let it steep a little longer while I went to the restroom. The restroom is in the back past a glass door. The corridor actually leads to the outside, which I found curious. The restroom was an interesting lesson in plumbing. There are pipes just above the floor next to the toilet bowl. But at least it was clean. When I came back, I poured out some pale tea. After taking a sip I identified the problem: the water wasn’t very hot. Then my chicken chow fun arrived. It was rather bland. There were no vegetables mixed in with the dish other than onions. I was expecting diced carrots, sprouts, and green onions as well. The chicken was cooked well though. To top off my meal, fortune cookie I was served came sealed in a plastic bag. It was stale. I’ll give other Chinese places in town a try before I come back here.

Went on a Sunday evening with my family of 5. Our 1st visit and we were all alone. Service was attentive but waitress spoke little or no English. Ordered Shrimp Tempura and it was NOT tempura but some deep fried doughy batter. Shrimp tasted like freezer and we sent them back. Ordered several meals and not even our 2 year old would eat much. My plate was very salty and I ate 5 bites and could not stomach anymore. Only positive note was the egg flower soup. I will NOT be going back and I suggest my visit be your warning.

Worse restaurant I’ve tried since I have been back in Turlock. Admittedly, I tried something that was not Chinese but it was on the menu. I thought I would try the ramen there. I tried the house ramen with chasui pork. This was not ramen as wavy fat noodles are not ramen and appeared to be of the dehydrated variety. The pork was more like a cutlet cut up where as chasui is more of a roast pork. Very disappointed indeed.

This is an update to my review below. Been coming here for awhile, and every time I come, I feel like I’m getting over charged. And the breakdown in language communication is starting to take its tole. This last time, I think they just made up a price and when I asked them to explain it, the lady up front just mumbled something in Mandarin and kept ringing me up. I’m sorry to say I’m probably looking for a new go to Chinese place. I probably would have to say best chow mien and pork fries rice in Turlock. Sweet and sour pork is a little on the dry side, a little to done for my taste. But the staff are super fun to talk to on the phone and are always super friendly. Oh, and there is enough food in two orders of the family meal to feed a small Mexican family. Whoa, everyone calm down, I’m Mexican, I know what I’m talkin about.

Salt, MSG, you get the feeling you’re eating synthetic dyes like Red 40. I have no idea how they make their sauces but I’m curious to know because it’s hard to imagine what in the natural kingdom would taste like that. It’s like methamphetamine is to Chinese food. You’re basically smoking crack instead of eating Chinese food. My brain was in pain after eating here. I would have to be paid a lot of money to eat here again. Definitely about 5 times the cost of the meal or more, depending on how much I was required to eat. I can’t remember ever having food this bad before aside from hamburger buns at McDonalds.

Turlock Chinese Restaurant is the best Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. I’ve lived in Turlock for over 2 years and have tried a lot of Chinese food, as it is one of my favorites. I was terribly disappointed in all of them, each one no better than the garbage that is Panda Express. A menu from Turlock Chinese Restaurant was left on my door the other day and I decided to take one last chance. I’m so glad I did. I had food delivered-they estimated 20 minutes, but it got to my place in less than 10. The food was piping hot and perfectly cooked. It was clear that every last ingredient was the utmost of fresh. The food was not greasy at all. They give you a TON of food, well worth what you pay for it. Impeccable.

I wrote about Turlock Chinese Restaurant 2 months ago: This is fast becoming my fave Chinese restaurant in Turlock. Excellent service and seriously fresh food. Had the Wor wonton soup, and was enough for 3 meals. Next, we’ll stay home and get the delivery. Love the dry rubbed chicken wings… can’t stop eating them! Just great.” My husband I decided to start working our way through the Korean specialties and Japanese Ramen. Pork katsu and karrack both freaking Fantastic! So far everything we have had has been just fantastic! Fish and chips, orange chicken, fried green beans… all excellent! I will eventually order delivery, but going in the is always nice, quiet and fast! Just great stuff. I recommend it highly.

I went there a few times and all I can say is WOW! The food is great and I do mean really excellent compared to the other Chinese restaurants that I’ve eaten. Despite the location, it is not too busy but the service is fast and the owners are friendly, even if its not busy, I had small talks with the owners while I wait for my meal. The food… its portions is plentiful and its not too spicy nor funky like in the other restaurants that I’ve eaten. Prices on lunch specials is very wallet-friendly and I leave the place with a full tummy. Trust me, you will not be disappointed with this place because this Chinese restaurant is the most underrated Chinese restaurant in town.
