Visited Bonobo this fall after a store owner in Frankfort recommended it to us. Impressive views of the vineyards similar to Provence! Definitely one of the most breath taking views on the peninsula in the Fall! Spectacular color! They were busy the day we visited. Many groups tasting while other people just stopped to photography off the back deck! Great space to mill around and not feel crowded. Love the home like interior atmosphere! The wines were OK. We’ve had better on the peninsula but giving them the benefit of the doubt since they are new and just starting. Same with the muddy unfinished parking lot. Choose not to buy any wine since our trunk was stock with others who were better but did buy an overpriced Chardonnay smelling candle in their recycled wine bottle that we’ve been enjoying!

Great place with beautiful décor and friendly, knowledgeable staff. We were given a nice briefing on each of our tastings. Small plates available. Relaxed, yet trendy setting. Board games available to provide entertainment, if you need an icebreaker for your party. Despite the celebrity ownership, the entire place feels welcoming and comfortable. Gorgeous scenic overlook of Bay. Highly recommended as a tasting stop over the other local winery options.

Amazing staff! We had a man who was pouring for us I believe his name was Coleman, what a treat he was. He knew a ton about the wine and even pushed us out of our comfort zone to try more than just reds. We even fell in love with a white! He explained each wine in detail and how it was made. The winery has a nice variety of wines to try and a lot of them are fantastic. The décor inside is also stunning. We ended up walking out with a few bottles because of him. When we come back I hope he is there again.

A group of 9 of us stopped here on a whim after our other tastings of the day. We didn’t except much because it was new, but it ended up being our favorite place! There are several rooms to spread out and an outside deck overlooking the vineyards. Because there were so many of us, the owner walked us back to the back tasting bar. We all had tastings(really like the different Rieslings), and all got a glass afterward. Coleman waited on us, and he made the whole experience a lot of fun. We were all able to drink and enjoy the view without the pressure of moving on. The bottles are expensive but the white wine is very good. We also got some good shirts from the gift shop… way to make us feel welcome! This place will be on the list from now on.

Great view, need to improve wine! $ 13 for a glass of wine that gave me a headache the next day? No thanks!

Eric was very personable and knowledgeable about the wines. The grounds and building were gorgeous as well as the views. Patio was awesome even in the chilly weather. I’m not a wino but the staff took the time to explain everything. Bottles of wine are a little steep on price but the sampling and by the glass is on par with all the other wineries. Carl Bonobo has built himself a stellar winery.

This was our favorite stop on the peninsula. The ambience is terrific. We almost wanted to stop back at the end of the day to just sit and enjoy a glass of wine. We stopped in on a rainy day, which was less than ideal, but the view was still beautiful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The finishes in the space are gorgeous. We look forward to visiting again.

The view was spectacular and I enjoyed the décor, however I felt they were overpriced compared to other wineries in the area. 2 tastings, 2 glasses & a bottle to take home was almost $ 80! I did enjoy the wine but felt the selection was limited for someone with a sweeter palate like myself.

My family and I were excited to visit this place upon opening and have visited three times, including the grand opening where we met friendly Carter! It is a very large winery in comparison to others in the area, has a long bar, plenty of indoor seating with a modern somewhat minimalistic décor, plus the lovely outdoor patio with a great view of the vines and lake in the distance. We have yet to try the food pairings but look forward to Batali’s influence. What prevents it being a favorite of ours(yet I hope!) is the selection of wines(personal preference, mainly all dry), and the higher price point than seen in the area which didn’t match up to the quality of the wine(bottles approx. $ 30). More impactful though was the staff seemingly unfriendly — mainly all young hipsters with little wine knowledge who have not been personable all three times we have visited. Optimistic with turnover and time future visits have potential to improve my rating.

Bonobo Winery is beautiful. The view from the back patio is spectacular because you can see the vineyard and the water. The tasting bar inside is huge, and I love the décor inside. The Pinot noir was surprisingly light for a Pinot noir, but I really liked it. I don’t care for white wine, so I was sad that there was only one red. I thought the prices were reasonable for a winery. I also enjoyed hearing the story about why it is called«Bonobo Winery.» It is named after the Bonobo Apes, which are similar to humans genetically, but they live with a «make love, not war» mentality. The employees could tell you more though, so I encourage you to ask about it!
