I was hungry and so excited to have my spam musubi as a snack as we drove back home to SJ. This place was empty, only two tables. We ordered got our order after about 10 minutes(which is pretty long for just 2 spam musubis). Jumped back on the road, opened our box, and saw two scoops of rice… WTF…cool dude… THEYGOTANDORDEROF2SPAMMUSUBISWRONG?! WHENTHATWASALLWEORDERED! It was too much trouble to turn back around so I guess apparently I paid $ 5 bucks for 2 scoops of rice… completely incompetent.

The food overall was good but the girl at the counter was another story, no hi, no smile, nothing. Even had to ask her to repeat my order, she didn’t even tell me my total, I just handed my card over and she just handed my receipt. Maybe cause I was there 11:00 when they just opened?!

Of all Hawaiian BBQ I have had and all BBQ chicken in general, Ono Hawaiian is the best! The BBQ chicken is the best chicken I have had in any form. The beef is great too but the chicken is amazing. The macaroni salad is fantastic as well. Service is good and they are not crazy busy usually. Also amazing for catering, it is always a huge hit with our staff.

The veggie soup tastes like cup noodles… maybe worse. Other than that the food is decent.

I was craving katsu chicken. I wanted to try Ono since I’ve been to the other Hawaiian BBQ place, and Ono didn’t disappoint. The chicken was crispy, and the mac salad had just the right amount of mayo. My mom and Grandma ordered from their lighter menu, and I think I’ll do that next time. There are many options on the menu, from smaller portions to lighter fares. The only thing I didn’t like was the parking. But every parking lot in Tracy sucks, and I’ve come to expect that now with every new development.

Grabbed food to go last week. Their musubis are priced really well. The competitor charges $ 2 for 1; I think it’s 2 pieces for $ 2.99 here. All my food was good. One person prepared it, so it was a tad slow, but didn’t quite mind. Just care that my chicken is cooked right.

+ Conveniently close distance to home + Friendly cashiers and efficient service + Restaurant was clean and condiments/utensils stocked + Food was delicious: — doesn’t carry any lau lau or loco moco or other kine Aloha plate with salad and island fire chicken and rice: sweet and spicy Mini plate with chicken teriyaki: perfect size for kids Kalbi short ribs with Mac salad and rice Spam musubi Strawberry Lilikoi Hawaiian sun Coconut Haupia: sweet, yummy with shredded coconut & milk Compared to the local L& L, I’d rather come here because the other Hawaiian restaurant are rude and overpriced Most likely return for more Ono grinds

Too many times have I received small portions. Majority of the plate is filled with rice. And the taste is nothing special. L&Ls is def the place to go

Tia gives such great customer service. Love seeing her when I come in. I love the shrimp and the musubi. Always so yummy. Definitely better than L&L

The Naglee location needs better customer service. There is hardly any restaurant that would not give a sample of an item when requested. Wanted to try the Island Fire Chicken and the cashier would not even bother to let me try the sauce!

We just recently found this place as we went to Starbucks next door. New and clean place. The food was surprisingly good. The portions are big too :) I like the spicy chicken and really enjoyed the steamed veggies on the side, great combo for me. This place earns 5 stars from the very attentive service my family experienced there a few times. We have special request due to allergy and they always confirm and double check before serving the foods. One of the cashiers even remembered our special request, very impressive! All the visits we had were pleasant; great friendly guys there. Recommended!

One of the better places to eat in Tracy. 5 stars for being clean, having friendly staff, and fresh food. There was a little bit of a wait for our order of 3 plates but hey at least you know it’s being made to order and not sitting for hours. I’m not sure how long they have been at this location but it looked like they were finishing up some remodeling/decorating. Great job on the décor! Definitely stopping by again when I’m on this side of town.

Not the warmest greeting like I have received at L&L. The girl didn’t bother giving us the layout of their menu. She just stood there and stared at us. Awkward. I ordered the bbq mixed combo: Beef and shortribs were tasty. Chicken tasted a little old. Portions small. Overall it was mediocre. This was my first visit. Would I return? Not anytime soon.

Thought I’d update my review with the quality of food that was purchased at this establishment. I decided to go for quantity over quality. I called another«hawaiian bbq» establishment to get an idea of what they charge for a family meal deal. I decided to go with Ono’s since it was much cheaper and I didn’t feel like paying nearly $ 60 for a family meal on a tuesday night. I give Ono’s that, they have good prices for that family meal. 6 scoops of rice and mac salad, 3 trays/boxes, half size, of entrees. Although the weight of the tray/box for each entrée was quite heavy. I found that the majority of the weight is because they put so much cabbage at the bottom of each tray/box. I decided to order the bbq chicken, bbq beef, and chicken katsu. The katsu was too greasy/oily. It leaves that taste in your mouth of just vegetable oil coating your entire palette. BBQ beef was decent although not very flavorful. Same thing with the BBQ chicken. I found adding more teriyaki sauce did the trick to enhance the flavor. I didn’t want to give these guys my business but trying to find dinner in a pinch for 5 to 6 people at an affordable price, this was my only option at the moment.

They had 1 big order ahead of me and a couple more small ones, they had trouble getting orders out quickly. 15 mins and counting and only 2 orders have gone out. Folks getting a bit impatient. They are new, so we will give them a break on that. Had takeout previously from here and i liked the katsu chicken. Price overall seems comparable or a little higher than L&L across the freeway. I will try kalua pork and a salad with chicken and update the review

I tried Ono Hawaiian BBQ in Tracy for the first time this week and I have to say I was actually impressed with the food. I had been to the Manteca location before and wasn’t a fan and I’m glad I had a better experience here in town. First thing I noticed when I walked in was the modern décor and the cleanliness of the restaurant. I was immediately greeted from across the room by the girl at the front counter, just like they do at Jamba Juice. When I finally went to order I noticed that it was really noisy in the restaurant! All of the cooking/frying noise in the background in combination with the music they have playing, made it hard for me to hear the girl at the front counter when I had questions about the menu. That wasn’t fun. I decided on the Kalua Pork & Chicken Katsu plate. I ordered at 5:32 and got my meal to go at 5:41, so almost a 10 minute wait. Although this is longer than most fast food places, I feel that the wait is comprable to what I have experienced at L&L in town. The food was yummy! Not over done or too greasy. I have had some greasy Kalua Pork before and it was nice to get the same flavor without all the oil. I only wish they had more plating options. I like that L&L has mini plates and protein plates, which is usually what I end up getting. There wasn’t an option for that when I inquired. Overall I had a good experience and will be back!
