This place is also run by Yamadaya, with slight difference. This place has a more trendy, industrial style feeling, compared to the original ramen place that is very Japanese style. Menus are also slightly different but the good thing is that tastes are the same yummy tastes. The missing star is from the horrible parking situation, just like the original Yamadaya.

SOGOOD. Me and my gf have been visiting every ramen place in the area and this is our new favorite. We get the tonkotsu(pork broth) and it’s super tasty. It’s small restaurant and when it’s busy, there can be a wait(like every other ramen place we’ve been to) but on weekday nights it’s mostly empty. Food comes out quick, staff is cute and helpful. We really, really love this place. The soup comes with 1 meaty slice of pork and 1 flavored egg. I’m a big guy, so I usually request and extra order or noodle for $ 1.50. Did I mention how tasty the ramen is? Love it.

Ok, they now have gyoza and then some — like a beef bowl that taste just like yoshinoya in Japan!

I was rather bothered by the togo portion they served. Talked crazy to the lady at the counter and everything. She claimed it was the same size served as dine-in though. $ 11.39 just doesn’t go as far as it once did. That said — the focus here is definitely on quality and not quantity. Since finding a ramen place that offers a non-pork broth(chicken here) can be challenging, they have my vote. The chicken broth was nothing simple. It was a mix of bouillon made from fresh chicken, garlic, and other spices. I even picked up hints of slow-cooked fish — which I love. If you are looking for a bowl of ramen to fill you, this may not be your place. But if you value great tasting ramen where the worth is determined by the grade of broth, check these folks out. Note: The only standing between them and 5 stars was the portion. #fillmybowltothebrim

First things first… CASHONLY. But that’s not why I took off one star. I’ll get to that in a bit. We went here because the other ramen place across the street was busy and had rude employees and I wasn’t going to tolerate it. so we went here. ordered our food and the young lady repeated back to us our order. it was correct. anyways now we are waiting for our food and one of the orders is wrong. We thought it was the chef but the Young girl actually inputted the information wrong… ok mistakes happen. But now we are waiting on our chicken. But it hasn’t came. So I asked another lady when is it coming and she asked our waitress if we ordered it and she said yeah we did but by no sueprise… she forgot to input it. The other lady apologized to us because she was newbie. The newbie didnt even apologize once to us for getting our orders wrong. So I thought that was pretty rude. But the other waitress was making up for it, she was really sweet. Especially towards my daughter. Food is great. I really love their ramen. I’ll for sure come back again because the chicken was unique and delicious as well

Torrance Part2 location! Interesting that this location is right across the street from Hayatemaru. Just a note that parking is small(shared next door) and you could easily miss it if you are unfamiliar of the area. Also, CASHONLY! I came here with 3 other friends because we were craving ramen and since it wasn’t too late, we could venture out from the usual Hayatemaru & Umenoya. Seems like lunch time can get packed, but we went around 9 pm and it was pretty open. I ordered a tonkotsu shoyu ramen with a side of curry rice. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend getting curry at a ramen place, but I was craving curry at the time so I took the bait. Go to CoCo Ichibanya or Curry House for that if you want curry! The quality wasn’t impressive nor bad, but I feel like I should visit this place again to see if my opinion for this place changes. The servers were good and the manager(I think he’s the manager…) came by at our table asking how our ramen tasted and if there was anything in particular that we didn’t like. One of my friends got the shio ramen and he said it was a bit too salty for a shio ramen. I definitely appreciate him asking for customer feedback since that means he absolutely cares about the business. All in all, will visit again to try out more of the menu!

If I could give this place more than five stars I seriously would. First, I just want to say that the employees are very attentive. They brought us hot water cause they notice that we were under the weather and then the manager came to us himself and apologized about the ac being too cold, and he said he lowered it already. Amazing employees! I love it! Now the food!!! OMG! It was delicious and great! The Tonkotsu Spicy Ramen was just out of this world and to top it off they had the spicy paste on the side so you can control the level of spiciness. The beef bowl was great and my friend really loved his Kara-age Chicken and Rice Bowl Curry. I would definitely recommend this place and I for sure will bring my friends here just to have a reason to come back. New favorite ramen place!

I’ve been to a Yamadaya place before, and to here. stick to Yamadaya. They did give me a good piece of chasyu in my tsukemen, which is different than most places, but it wasn’t a very big piece. The sauce for my tsukemen was a bit saltier than I remember, and the chasyu was salty(although I know it is supposed to be). I got a side of dumplings and salad as well – the cabbage was bitter(old maybe?) though the dressing was good – the dumplings were okay but I’ve had better elsewhere. I did try their little bun-like thing with chasyu in it, again the chasyu was just too salty for me – bf finished it all. Overall, the place is okay, but I’d rather stick to my other ramen places in the area, at least for tsukemen, bf thought the food was decent and he got the shoyu. PS, parking sucks.

I’m not sure why people have had bad experiences with this place. It’s almost the same as the original Yamadaya. The menu is almost the same as the original one, but there’s some stuff«missing» on the menu. They also don’t do the free extra noodles for college students here, not that I saw a sign. I came with a group of 9 – 10 people and they thankfully got us all seated. Props to them for putting up with our big group since this is also a small location. The food tastes exactly the same as the original one, well at least it seemed like it. So if the original one is too busy, I’d probably just come to this location. There’s parking in the back but I think you share it with the phở restaurant next door but it is a bit dark at night time so be careful.

Location: Off the busy streets of Carson St. Lately if you’re coming down from Carson towards Torrance there’s been a delay of driving time because of the construction on the streets. Parking? You can park on the street right in front of the restaurant or park in the area to the left where the Mexican restaurant or phở restaurant is. Very small parking lot to accommodate the restaurants there. But if you’re lucky to find a spot at least you don’t have to pay ! Food: I ordered the fish/pork broth Ramen. I’m forgetful of the name but it was good. If I’m mistaken this is similar to the restaurant Ramen Yamadaya in Torrance. But dude this place taste nothing like it. Maybe I need to give this place another try. But so far their food is OK. Omgoodness I only got one piece of chasu, is that how it goes these days –_– Service: CASHONLY ! Their server likes to call their chicken karaage with a similarity, ‘mcnuggets’ thanks but no thanks lol. Someone please tell me if you liked their karaage! Because after I heard that I’m like, no. Just no. Lol I’d compare this to another ramen spot but. just try their other location maybe that’s worth your buck. Note: If you order their bigger bowls they’ll offer Garlic to crush onto your bowl which is Great for sickies. If you’re sick get well soon ! And they offer the kids size Beef Bowl for 2.50 with any Ramen order at this time. Note my date of review !

Unilocal challenge(16⁄100) CASHONLY. This location doesn’t have a big selection like the other Yamadayas. The Spicy Tonkotsu was nothing great. I was a little overwhelmed. The noodles seemed different to me but I could be wrong. The primary reason I gave this place two stars because of the service. I mean, I don’t want to bag on the workers but they were all pretty confused. There were 3 of us, and then we were promised a bigger table because we couldn’t fit in a 2 person table. Then a group of 5 comes in and they asked if we could squeeze into the 2 person table since they were a bigger party. Then, they get our order wrong. They gave us 3 gyoza orders instead of 2 and didn’t bring out our chicken karaage until after we finish. BUT they were nice enough to give us the chicken to go and not charge us. Still… I was unimpressed. I’m not sure if we’ll be back.

CASHONLY!!! I’m feeling a bit under the weather, and I figure ramen noodles might just help. I called beforehand to ask if they do take-out(not all ramen noodle places do) before I made the 5 minute drive. Lucky for me… Ordered the tonkotsu shoyu ramen with a side of extra seasoned egg and shrimp wontons. I also requested a side of hot oil to go with it. Got home and the food didn’t look like much in its packaging. It looked much better once I put it together in a bowl, though. Here’s the verdict: the broth wasn’t as hot as I wanted it to be. It was only a 5 minute drive, yet it didn’t keep its temperature well. The packaging could be blamed for this. It was also on the salty side(many Unilocalers have cited this as well.) The noodles kept its temp, though, and that might have helped raise the broth’s temp up a tad bit once they were put together. It also kinda neutralized its level of saltiness, but not too much. But overall, the dish was still on the salty side. Hot oil?! Nope. They gave me hot sauce. No biggie. Not my top ramen noodle spot, but I’m glad I tried it.

Broth was oily and salty. No large bowl option or option to add noodles. Also, the staff at neighboring Phở restaurant yells at Ramen patrons if you park in the back parking lot. Yamadaya on 182nd and Crenshaw is much better and authentic.

Rating: 66⁄100 pts Ramen Factory strategically opened up shop right across from Hayatemaru as their quality was on the decline, and soon after Ikkosha Ramen opened near Mitsuwa. I’m not huge on Yamadaya’s ramen, but I’m always down for trying a new spot. This place is small for an American restaurant, but is still actually quite spacious by Japanese standards. There are a decent amount of tables and bar seats, most of which filled up during lunch on a weekday. Yamadaya’s main store specializes in tonkotsu(pork bone) ramen, but here, the tiny yellow sign out front says«Shio Ramen» in Japanese, so I initially went with that. Shio means salt, and this signifies that the overwhelming flavor of the broth will be salty, ideally like a homey salted soup, on top of the chicken and achovy-flavored soup stock. To me, the soup comes off a little too salty to be great. I felt that the sliced grilled pork also detracts from the chicken stock base, overshadowing what should be a comforting flavor. Also, the noodles are a little thin for my taste. No one of these quibbles are deal-breaking, and 3 stars signifies I still enjoyed it, but as of two attempts, my subjective opinion is that this is not the best ramen in Torrance. If you like your broth salty and your noodles thin, Ramen Factory may be for you.

I think this is part 2 of the popular Ramen Yamadaya(the other location is on the other side of town). I wanted to get the Yamadaya special which included chasu and shrimp wontons, but they ran out of shrimp wontons. The irony is that it was only 12:30pm and the restaurant was only open for 1 hour. I saw the person at the next table eating shrimp wontons, perhaps she got the last of it?! I ended up getting the chasu shio ramen. 3 generous slices of chasu and it did not disappoint, soft and chewy. The ramen itself was«al-dente.» The bamboo shoots were plentiful. Green onions were fresh. My only feedback would be at the shio broth was too salty, not in a flavorful way, just plain salty. Great service, about 7 – 8 tables available, simple menu, and clean. I’m willing to come back again to try their shrimp shio ramen or the Yamadaya special. Parking can be difficult, small lot in the back, but drive way easy to miss. Cash only.

Still very new. It’s a small place, but feels spacious. Clean looking ambience. The menu is pretty basic. You’ve got the Shio Ramen option, a clear broth, or the tonkatsu pork broth, more thicker and saltier. The ramen was tasty, but didn’t have the wow factor. Very average. Noodles were of the thin kind, slightly chewy. The tonkatsu shoyu was more salty than what I was used to. Friend said the shio broth wasn’t as flavorful. Probably because it was chicken base rather the pork base. Service was just okay. It seems like the ladies are fairly new working at a ramen joint. They were very careful and very attentive. Not the quick-on-your-feet-action, I’m used to seeing. My only issue really is when they are making the ramen noodles in the back. It sounds like people body slamming each other on the steel counter tables. The floors in the dining area are concrete, so it echoes through the room, which makes it difficult to converse. Parking is limited, try the streets.

Fast, tasty, great customer service, clean bathroom, roomy inside! Their shio ramen was so delicious. Not much seats inside a few tables and a counter so the space is really roomie. Very clean environment and of course yamadaya ramen tastes the best. Their beef bowl was also tasty. Will come back for sure.

I was super excited when I heard Yamadaya started a shio ramen place! Environment Outside, it makes you not want to go in(sorry) Inside is much modern looking, simple, clean. Much nicer than the outside. Food Hooray for simple ramen! Solid, good ramen. I got the regular shio, but they do offer their tonkotsu stuff if you’re into that. Clear soup, seaweed, egg half, char siu, bamboo shoots, and mizuna. A small complaint is the mizuna. Not a fan:((If you don’t like cilantro, you probably won’t like it either). The bamboo shoot menma’s were a bit too sweet in my opinion, but again, that’s just preference. The ramen does start to get a bit too salty after awhile though, just a bit. I also ordered the mentaiko bowl as a side. I mean, there was nothing to it. It was just mentaiko on top of rice, with seaweed sprinkled. But the rice was a little hard and the mentaiko: rice ratio was too off that I ended up taking it home. Wouldn’t order it again but it’s nice to have side dish options. Service There were two girls working when I went and one girl in particular was very attentive and nice. Hope they have more servers like her:)

Went here to grab some quick food before running errands. I’m a fan of Yamadaya and I was thrilled this one was closer to my workplace and home. Unfortunately I probably won’t come back. I ordered the spicy tonkatsu ramen which comes with a heaping spoonful of chili on top. Having had good experience with the one at the other Torrance location(in which you can specify level 1, 2 or 3 of spiciness unlike here), I mixed it all in. I’m not sure if the broth itself was already salty to begin with but adding in the chili made it taste like I was drinking salt water. The funniest part is this place has these low-hanging lights above the tables. The people at the table to my right got up and knocked her head on the lights. Then 5 min later, the woman at the table to my right also got up and knocked her head. She commented to the waitress, who again profusely apologized, that they need to fix the lights or a lawsuit would be coming. Five minutes later, I left and the waitress reminded me not to hit my lights. I didn’t.

Average Ramen In the Torrance Ramen Triangle I am updating my review since I did say I would check it out at lunch and Yuri K. messaged me to give them another try with the pork broth. I went in at noon and this time I was greeted, but not in the typical energetic Japanese way, but in the way you get your tween kid to say hello to your friends. I was sat immediately and the server came back to with water and was able to take my order, which was the salt flavored pork broth ramen. The ramen came out in less than five minutes which is pretty typical at most places in Japan since the only thing they really cook to order is the mein. The broth had a nice smokey aroma and at the first taste it tasted good enough to finish, but not awesome like another place in Torrance. This pork broth was more like Tokyo style, which is on the lighter side and not milky like down in Fukuoka. The noodles were still perfect and the slice of charsiu is thick like a pork cutlet. The menma is not so crunchy and I don’t know if they use a good quality brand or not. Yamadaya is a chain. I think at last count, Torrance #2 is their 10th location, and I don’t know if that takes something away from their quality, but I am not sure if there are like dozens of ramen chefs that are coming to the US like sushi chefs are, but since there are a chain they should have their recipes perfected. Everything was OK with the exception of the exceptional noodles, which would be better in a nice broth.
