I will never eat here! There food is so bad and the restaurant smells inside its so old! I heard they put your leftover food back to serve to other people and a few of my family members have seen rats running around inside

When bread and butter was placed on the table I knew we were going to have issues. The food was just bad. The generals chicken was covered in this thick red sauce — not sweet or hot. My noodles tasted old and the chicken was over cooked and bland. Overall it’s just not something I’m going to want again. The fried food was very greasy. The prices at this place are really high for the quality. Even the sodas were flat and after a second attempt to fix the problem I just opted for tea. Lousy review for lousy food.

It’s a little expensive for the food it is. It’s greasy and it’s not that great. The chicken fingers aren’t bad but they don’t come in the pupu platter which was a bummer. The beef teriyaki was great. The chicken wings weren’t bad but not that great. It was a little expensive for what it is.

Standard Mai Tai stop when we’re in the area. And sometimes when we’re not. Food is good though standard. Come for the Mai Tai, there are very few places that make it as well including crushed ice as it should be.

Favorite place to eat! My fiancé and I love the food & Mai Tai’s. Prices are reasonable, food is always fresh & hot, & I don’t think there are even words to describe the Mai Tai’s.

If you want the freshest Chinese food in town with a 1970s décor twist. Then smoke some Lemon Tai and head on over and grab their Lobster Fried Rice and Egg rolls. Smokin…

Jade East is a very old school Chinese restaurant and lounge, which has been around for over 45 years in Tewksbury. The place offers takeout counter service, full service dining with old pictures on the walls, and a cozy cocktail lounge with a full bar, TVs, Keno, and Mass Lottery scratch tickets. Jade East offers the typical«old school» Chinese menu(greasy & filling) you’d find in many«suburban New England towns» including many Cantonese and Szechuan dishes. The prices here are moderate, most regular dishes priced in $ 10-$ 15 range. 30 Luncheon Combination Plates($ 6.00-$ 8.75) served with rice(except 4&11) and appetizer(s) are offered Mon-Sat until 3PM, except holidays. 13 Dinner Combination Plates($ 9.50-$ 10.75) served with rice and appetizer(s) are also offered. I was in here recently for lunch takeout. The lounge looked quite busy around 2:30PM on a Saturday. I ordered the L30 Mar Pao Tofu($ 7.75 plus tax) served with pork fried rice and 2 spring rolls, which was ready to go in about 10 minutes. The portion of food was generous, piled into a square styrofoam box. The Mar Pao Tofu had a mix of soft tofu cubes, peppers, onions, mushrooms in a semi thick mild spicy light brown sauce, the flavor was lacking though. The pork fried rice had a soft texture(light brown color) with mix of roast pork, onions, and egg. The spring rolls were very greasy, which were filled with shredded cabbage, carrots, & mushroom in a very crispy thin deep fried wrap. The standard dinner roll with sauces and fork was provided in the bag. Overall, the food was very filling and typical average«old school suburban style» Chinese food.

This place is Horrible, we booked an event two months early and one day prior to the event they forgot about the reservation and the owner almost refused to host the event. They were very unprofessional, hard to understand and charged us extra for the room and the food, They dont even deserve the one star rating I am giving them here. The rice was a day old, the hospitality was non existant and they only thing they were concerned about is money and getting paid. I never seen a place like this in my life, the owners have no business or hospitality training, they need to invest in learning english and taking a course or two in Hospitality and sanitation. I had a terrible time there and I will not recommend this to anyone

Apparently I need to order a Mai tai because lunch was just average. Bland taste and mediocre spice.

I am 43 years old and I have literally been going to the jade East all my life. What’s more, it looks exactly the same inside now as it did when I was five years old, right down to the pictures on the walls. As you get older, there are fewer and fewer places like this that link you to your past. I don’t live in the area anymore and every time I come to town, I’m worried that the jade East will be gone but it still seems to be thriving. First of all, this isn’t really chinese food. It’s what is considered chinese food in this part of New England but it’s really something that was considered Polynesian food back in the day. I was so disapointed in chinese food when I moved away. The fried rice here is dark brown with pieces of pork and vegetables in it. It’s not the flavorless beige stuff you get at Panda Express. Other favorites are the PuPu platter(a round platter of appetizers with a can of sterno burning in the middle — your kids will love it), the terriyaki on a stick, the chicken wings, the shrimp lobster sauce(I sometimes dream I am eating this), chicken chow mein. The bread they serve before the meal dunked into that sweet brown sauce was probably my favorite thing in the world to eat when I was a kid. I live in Montréal now and I will be making the 300+ mile drive to eat here next weekend.

The Jade has been there forever but I’m just now discovering how amazing their mai tai’s are! It’s a great place to grab a drink with some friends, the staff is super friendly and the service is great. They have a really fun drink menu and the drinks are strong, beware! The food is also delicious and the prices are reasonable, I’m a big fan!

Mai Tai, Mai Tai, Mai Tai, I love thee here. One is enough… ok, maybe two. Scallion pancake Crab rangoon Mai Tai, Mai Tai, Mai Tai. you get the point this is a dimly lit chinese restaurant that for some reason feels like it should be in Pulp Fiction… and I don’t know why. I’m yummy, it’s fun, it’s late night after some bad kareoke. You won’t be disappointed.

Went to a large family gathering where we made a massive order and it was made quick and held up well in transport. The scallion pancakes, crab rangoon, chicken wings, chicken fingers, fried shrimp, egg rolls and beef teriyaki were yummy but what I really enjoyed was the veggie fried rice and spicy tofu. Pretty standard fare but it fed the whole family well. We don’t eat Chinese food often, but this was a pretty good choice — not greasy and good vegetarian options.

Went there for lunch. While there prices and portions are nice, I was surprised by what I was eating. I ordered the shrimp with lobster sauce which came with boneless spare ribs and 2 small slabs of pork. The fried rice was very good. I’ve never seen shrimp with lobster sauce in a dark brown sauce with bits of ground pork in it. The shrimp were small-medium size. Not what I expected. Service was good.

We love it here. Mostly for the Mai Tais(sit at the bar), but the food is consistent as well. Nothing fancy, just good, solid food. Did I mention the Mai Tais? Sooooooooooo good.

This is my family’s go-to for Chinese. The food used to be so-so, but I think they must have gotten a new chef because the quality is SO much better and tastier! The crab rangoons are more filling than exterior(which I prefer), the rice is always light and fluffy, and I am a big fan of their chicken tow goo. I prefer to drop in for takeout, since the interior is kind of dark(and they could probably do with some steam cleaning on their carpets), but when we do go to dine the staff is usually very friendly. It’s a pity that it’s so close to Motel Caswell.

We don’t have good Chinese food in Portland, it’s just a fact we have some fancy Chinese places and we have things like PF Changs but we don’t have the greasy, like you ate in college Chinese good and that’s what jade is, but a bit better. Their crab Rangoon is wonderful, every time I’m in Tewksbury I go to Jade east at least once and have to have their crab Rangoon, the same goes for the lo mein, people on the west coast believe in crunchy noodles not soft, which I think is crazy but I’m only one person so what can I do. The jade is a Tewksbury staple, and a must when you come to town. Don’t expect fire works, just good Chinese food like you remember it as a kid and you won’t disappointed.
