Worst coffee I’ve had in my life. Barista was somewhat aloof and not welcoming or friendly. The seating was messy, dirty tables and there was only one other customer there. They share a space with a noisy sandwich shop. My guest & I had only two sips of our coffee & we just couldn’t drink it. We mentioned this to the barista & were not offered any thing else, much less an apology. Bad form Merry Hill!

Friendly staff with great coffee. Open 7 days a week. Merry hill has a good selection of coffee, and specialty coffees, teas, breakfast items, and lots of smiles. No gum under the tables. The only thing is that is can get load do to the fact it connected to a mr pickles; so if need to come and study just keep that in mind. Good stop for a cup of coffee and smiles to start your day!

One of my favorite coffee and chai spots, this coffee never crashes me like many other places. I always go out of the way to get my Dirty Soy Chai! Plus they have gluten free treats.

Amazing coffee, cute baristas. I really enjoy the environment, but it got a bit squishy after Mr. Pickles moved in.

Great coffee for a lot less than other stores and they offer a 20% military discount. They were so friendly as well.

Awesome spot in Templeton. Need more places around this area that offer almond milk options (vs soy or regular milk). LOVE that they have a green macha tea latte, gluten free goodies, and great espresso as well as non-​oversized cappuccinos. Friendly staff, free wifi and good seating. I’ll be back every time I pass this way

This place serves coffee, which I don’t drink, so I’m giving this 5 stars for it’s unbelievable selection of gluten-​free pastries, brownies, and more. I got a brownie and it was fantastic.
The place also had a lot of seating, it’s roomy, and there was a nice relaxed vibe and a friendly person working there.

Very good customer service, yummy drinks, and a cozy, bright ambiance. Parking can be hard to come by seeing as it is in a busy shopping center, but it is worth the wait!

Probably the best customer service you can find at a coffee shop. The smiles and warm vibe in the place is worth coming to over and over again!

I love Merry Hill. Here’s why:
THE DRINKS: Delicious. Probably the only place on the Central Coast that serves MATCHA. Their TEA menu is especially wonderful, lots of unique blends served in generous helpings, and the coffee drinks are well-​prepared. I’ve never ordered it, but many folks seem dedicated to the BOBA. Also, they offer all kinds of nut milk.
THE FOOD: Gluten-​free folks will love this place. The owner has taken great care to make sure there are gluten free breakfast sammies as well as pastries. You can get a flatbread pizza or bagel, but I would recommend their killer RAW BARS which are specially ordered and just… to die for. I’m averaging one a day.
THE STAFF: the staff is so uniformly good-​natured and just nice that at first, I thought I was being mocked. I’m not even kidding. The owner made some EXCELLENT hiring decisions because everyone that works here is superlatively hard-​working, polite, and considerate. I’ve spent long hours in this coffee shop studying for a certain evil professional exam and I’ve never heard a negative comment from any of them. They’re unfailingly interested in everyone who comes in, and they always try to go above and beyond to deliver the best customer service. I feel downright LOYAL to Merry Hill just based on the quality of their customer service, a sentiment curried rarely if ever in this cynical Unilocaler.
THE ATMOSPHERE: with a high vaulted barn ceiling and plenty of comfy couches, tables and chairs, Merry Hill has a delightfully open and down to earth ambiance. Polished and professional without that icky corporate feel and PLENTY OF OUTLETS. I – and a fair amount of folk – seem to use Merry Hill as a part-​time office; the excellent, free, fast wi-​fi definitely supports this! I see large groups of runners, bikers, and families coming in and all are at home. Also, the place is IMMACULATELY CLEAN.
THE BOTTOM LINE: This coffee house serves better food and better drinks than its local counterparts, and does so with zero annoying hipster attitude. I’m impressed with the work ethic of the owner and staff. If they’re out of raw bars when you visit, it because I ate them all. Sorry, not sorry.

What is that I see? Templeton has a boba place?! I decide to try it out with not very high expectations, this is the central coast after all and boba is not well known around here. As you step into Merry Hill, you see comfortable chairs, board games, and very friendly people waiting to take your order. They have a great variety of drinks and food options, including gluten free items. I ordered the taro boba. It was made differently than what I am used to in LA. Here it was made like a slushy instead of a tea. I think it is a location thing because the other boba places in the central coast make theirs like this as well. Anyways, it was very yummy. I will definitely return and will be trying the other goodies like the chai blended tea.

I love stopping here in the morning before work. I get a chai latte with almond milk and sometimes they add ginger for me. It’s so good, it starts my day off great! I also like their breakfast options, they do smoothies and organic hard boiled eggs, pastries and gluten-​free muffins that are actually moist and don’t fall apart! With your egg you get a smokey paprika salt mix and it’s all very well priced. The staff is super friendly and I always feel special when I go in.

I’m all about quality coffee and I discovered that Merry Hill has just that. I have tried every coffee house in SLO County and Merry Hill is by far my favorite. Having excellent customer service is a plus too. I shop at Trader a Joe’s every week so I look forward to grabbing a coffee while I shop.

Wanted to have a good experience and write a good review. When they were in Atown I used to go there often and drive through. Things are not going well there now that they have moved. The food is bad, breakfast sandwich was dry dry dry. Got my order wrong twice in one order and had to redo. The clerk was flirting with me and meanwhile I had to wait for redoing my order waiting waiting waiting. If you expect people to eat here than get your food trip together. I would really like to have the coffee house succeed, as I miss Jobella. But you aint no Jobella. Sorry. Pay attention. You have a captive audience. But you will never succeed if you dont pay attention and clean up your act.

We were vacationing nearby so we came here a few times and it was great. They poured a perfect tasting vanilla latte. But the best was their frozen Boba Tea’s — so so good! Not very traditional Boba Tea in that it’s frozen but they are good and they do have the tapioca balls! Two thumbs up!

Great coffee and tea, friendly customer service, and the only place in North County I’ve found that does boba right! Regular green tea with boba is delicious and refreshing (and so much better than the sickeningly sweet syrup or powder mix options at some of the other places).

The best pumpkin chai you will ever have! Cute little coffee shop next to Trader Joes, excellent service!
