There is a reason why this place is rated so high and that is because it is awesome. The food, beer and service were all excellent. We got the mushroom burger, chicken sandwich, tater tots and kids chicken fingers. We sat inside as it was raining, but from their patio you can see the beautiful waterfall. You have to check this place out. I wish I lived closer that I could come here more often.

Great friendly service, cute patio, awesome food and wonderful beer! The tarot tots weren’t tots at all, rather potato cheese balls of heaven! The jalepeno burger was fantastic!!! The kids menu was good price and the casual brew pub atmosphere made it nice enough for a date and cool enough for a family! I won’t miss coming here again! Although we didn’t order it this time I heard the fish, pork and steaks are to die for!

Beer: good. Mostly standards, but not to be missed(while they have it) is an ale brewed with chanterelle mushrooms. Really interesting nutty, meaty edge to it. The IPA isn’t too bad, and the wine is also reasonable for those who don’t beer. Food: excellent. We mostly stuck to burgers, which are perfectly cooked with good accompaniments. Those who got the sweet potato fries had good things to say. The pickle spear appetizer is also worth your time and the breading doesn’t fall off. A steak entrée was also perfectly cooked. Service: made me homicidal. The host, as noted in other reviews, just kind of wanders off. We had a reservation and were not seated till 30 minutes after our time. Our waiter was a nice guy, but after putting in our beer orders vanished for 15 minutes to run checks and clean tables. The place was nowhere near full. It’s not bad, but wouldn’t ever come here if you want a quick meal.

This place was recommended by a local. When I entered the Smuggler, the host wandered off while talking on the phone. No acknowledgement that I was there. A couple of minutes later, a young lady asked if I needed anything. I said a table for one. She said okay and sat down and resumed folding napkins. Host returned a few minutes later and sat me with no comment regarding the delay. I ordered a Burger cooked medium. When it was delivered it was rare. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she didn’t say anything but just handed me the check. She never asked if I wanted more iced tea or never thanked me for stopping by. The food was OK, other than being under cooked. Service was just a notch above lousy. Think I’ll find someplace else next time.

We loved this place. The food and drink were phenominal. We especially loved having a server who cared about doing his job well. He made great recommendatios and took very good care of our group. We stayed over an hour past close and were the only ones left, yet were never asked to wrap things up. The server and bartender patiently waited until we realized it ourselves, which actually made us feel kind of bad for not being more aware. The only thing that bothered us was that the music was on too loud to have a good conversation, but before we could ask to have it turned down, our server noticed and asked if he could turn it down for us. Again, a nearly perfect dining experience. Loved this place.

Wow! I’ve had a lot of great burgers but the Truffle Mushroom burger was one of the best ever! If it’s crowded & just a couple of you try eating at the bar. Damn good!!!

I Think of this place like a burgers and beer place that has spent way too much time trying to figure out how to make both those things better. The filet mignon might have been a stretch for their skills, but there are more types of beer they brew than you could possibly drink in a day; and their dishes are well thought out and well prepared. Any brewpub that I’ve been to that cares this much about beer is a happy place.

Fantastic gastropub in Telluride. We each had flights of the local brews(favorites included the stout and the porter), as well as some delicious entrees. My braised short ribs with carrot purée and root veggies was amazing. A little crowded and warm as it got busier, but otherwise great.

YOOOO! What a great meal! We three sat at the bar and the service was fantastic! The bartenders were knowledgeable, plus willing to entertain our shenanigans. But truly. The beer is made in house. Big plus for me. I love a restaurant that acts as its own brewery. The décor was hip and casual, the menu informative and extensive, but not overkill. The beer and cocktails(con mezcal, siempre) were absolutely delicious; dangerously so. We spoke to the owner and our bartender was a delight. She answered all of our questions, gave us suggestions, and never stank of up-sell. Much appreciated, thanks guys! Chicharrones and tots to start. Both were dead-on, though I was eyin me those fried pickles… next time! Had the Veggie Burger for my main. On suggestion. Did not fail. The curry wasn’t overpowering… the size was substantial the greens were fresh… the pickled onion… hallelujah. Thank you for appeasing my appetite without beating the shit out of my palate. After my beautiful Road Rash Red, I had a flight… and something happened… something I’ll never go back from… I had a chanterelle beer. I had a CHANTERELLEBEER. It was in place of their nut brown… sorry that I missed that, but that chanterelle beer will stay with me forever. Imagine a floral, low IBU beer with golden color, crisp, straightforward notes of starfruit, and hardly a hop about it. Not your usual beer, mind-opening to me. Go here. Or don’t. I had a great meal with thoughtful, crafted american beer. Not much better in my book, folks. But if you’re one of THOSE people, take it back to NY. This is some innovative, deep-southern-gone-high-altitude food, served with smiles dabbed in sass. I’ll be back.

Came here twice during our stay in telluride. The first time I got a pecan palace to drink; wonderful, boozy, warming, I loved it. We ate tater tots, the best dish we ordered, fried popcorn shrimp and calamari, which was good and came with a flavorful aioli dipping sauce, and mushroom toast which would have been good of we were a smaller group but kind of bland. Second time around I continued my flatliner tour of telluride with their version called the defribulator, which was much better than the last place. Place was a little disorganized and couldn’t handle the moderately busy Thursday night. We waited at the door for five minutes where there was no hostess, drinks took approx. 8 minutes. The waiter was very helpful, had time twice. He looked very busy though, dropped out app plates off when he was running someone else’s dinner.

Terrior, a smashing success. This holiday season, smugglers owners, josh and melisa, and their chef de cuisine, john warren, opened the pop up restaurant, Terrior, and it was phenomenal. Reminiscent of one of mt favorite meals at Charley Trotters in Chicago. I can’t wait for their next pop up venture.

This place is amazing. The owner, Josh, is awesome. The entire staff is friendly. The food is delicious. Try the filet mignon! It’s to die for. It comes with Brussel sprouts in bacon marmalade. Yeah! Bacon flavored Brussel sprouts! Seriously try this place! You won’t regret it.

After my weeklong adventure in Telluride, my group of 7 decided to end the week at Smuggler’s Brew Pub. We started off at the bar with drinks and apprtizers. I got an Espresso Porter which looked like Guinness’ mountain man cousin. The body was surprisingly lighter than I thought, with the coffee taste being nuanced. It had some dank cocoa/caramel notes. The next beer I got was the Oatmeal Nitro Stout. This one had more body to it with duller notes than the Porter. Both were dank. I also got the«Jumbo Chicken Wings» which were not jumbo, but were still thick and meaty with a solid buffalo demiglaze. After a half hour at the bar, we were finally seated. The waiter, Martin, was cordial as hell. The dude must’ve been from France or something because after the meal, he bowed at me like I was his sensei. He also had a cool accent. I ordered the burger and it must’ve been pretty good because I ate the whole damn thing after everyone else even started their entrees. It had pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and I put ketchup and mustard on it. It was probably in the top 5 burgers I’ve had. Everything was delicious. I’d say I’m coming again but I don’t come to Telluride too often so if I’m ever back I probably will.

This place is great. Ridiculously delicious food, with generous portions and nicely presented plates. Beers are brewed downstairs that taste great and are numerous. The cocktails are extensive, informed and well made. Wine is an option here if you like as well, with some good notable producers. The prices are reasonable, and you can come in for a snack of for a full scale dinner. The burgers are one of the best I’ve had, and the fries are so tasty. This will be a regular spot for me from now on!

We went to Smuggler’s for our lunch — our last meal of our Telluride vacation! It was perfect. We sat on the patio, drank awesome beer and chowed down some great food! I had the BLT& fries. Perfect. So. Much. Bacon. Perfect ending to a perfect vacation.

This would be a 4+ star review if the service had been halfway decent. As is, however, it was half an hour from the time someone took our drink order until someone took our food order. Our drinks didn’t show up until after then, and even that required flagging down a server. Trying to pay and get out also took about half an hour. It was a busy day, but seeing our server take food orders from tables who got there after us was the worst. On the bright side, their food was good, and they have a wide selection of beers that are all pretty tasty. Go here if there’s no event in town, otherwise avoid it like the plague.

The mac and cheese is out of this world. That’s really the main point of my review. I also had the pea risotto, which was pretty bland, and the caprese sandwich, which was alright. I would order the mac and cheese again in a heartbeat, it was creamy and delicious! Good beer selection, casual atmosphere. Definitely a good option if you’re stopping in Telluride and not looking for something fancy or too expensive.

We had a great time sitting outside on the patio!!! Excellent service and fabulous food. We stayed for dinner after this place being our last stop on the Telluride Wine Festival«taste of telluride» tour. The food is out of this world. We ordered red pepper hummus and rock shrimp and calamari. Wow!!! The hummus was a huge serving. The waiter brought out extra pita for us. The shrimp and calamari tasted amazing Our fellow wine companions ordered dinner entrees which they raved about. Wine was really good too! Woo
