Big Mama’s and Papa’s Pizzeria

eh. i remember this place before it ws remodeled. It looks much much better now but if only that money went towards service lessons. Food is decent and decently priced. I remember the old bartender was a hoot. He really knew how to liven up a place. Then when he left the owner was there and i don’t like to talk badly but he should stick to the books. As for calling in on the phone, the lady with the accent is very rude. However they do do deliverys! which is a plus.

Gluten free pizza! And a significant size (12×16) not just a personal or small. I’m so glad I found this place. And it’s a chain. So just in case I’m not home, I can still get pizza from the company and not stress out about looking for a substitute. I paid through the Unilocal app and it was delivered within the hour but more like half hour. It was really good, and cooked to specifications. Though, I am bummed it’s a thin crust. Im still on the hunt for that fluffy, soft, and chewy gluten free crust. But everything else that’s important on the pizza, like the homemade sauce, is awesome.

Jason the bartender is awesome… he makes coming in for food and drinks a great experience!

First time here and I have to say the food was great. Best pizza I’ve had since visiting New York… The customer service was also great. The bartender «Jason» was VERY nice, quick and helpful. I would definitely come back!

Had my son’s birthday party here this past weekend. A lot of people commented on what an «interesting» choice to hold a 1 year old’s birthday party. But since the party was mainly adults (seriously, like 3 kids — 2 of them infants), the location was perfect. Good food, a large selection of craft beers and great service. Our experiences when we have come to eat for dinner in the past have always been really positive. But my son’s birthday put it over the top!

I seriously don’t understand the negative service related comments here. First up, I’ve been to the place in person and ordered delivery a bazillion times and each time, everyone is perfectly lovely. But, if they weren’t, if they were the biggest jerks who had ever lived, if they insulted my mother and told me she dresses me funny, I would STILL be a loyal customer because they have the BEST PIZZA OUTSIDE OF NEW YORK CITY.
Get the thin crust, not the regular. Get the fontina sausage and mushroom, or, if you’re not into meat (we can’t be friends, but I still want you to be happy) go artichoke hearts and sundried tomatoes. Sometimes I get all of the above. Sometimes I just go old school plain cheese.
I am always satisfied. And seriously, if you don’t like the service, order delivery. Then you’ve got no one to blame for your night but yourself.

This place rules!!! best pizza ever!!! I have to order another pizza because my wife just demolished the one they just delivered!!! Ha!!!

Came here with freinds and was served by Josh or Jason forgot his name… this guy is legit on Crack or as he said while serving us «had a few drinks» the guy was brain dead… literally. asked 3 times for each thing we ordered forgot we ordered a second pizza and his excuse was were busy mind you we were the only people there… when we asked for extra plates his response was we ran out of plates…

Great food, great drinks, great service. We feel like family here. The pizza is the best in Los Angeles and the slices are huge. My favorite is the Aro.

Had a problem with the delivery guy but the manager Ray resolved the problem. Pizza was good and would use them again.

DO NOT EVER ORDER FROM THEM FOR YOUR PARTY!!! We ordered and paid one week ago and they never delivered the pizzas! It was a kids party and everyone was starving. When we called they couldn’t find the order and had the nerve to ask US to call their other locations to ask if they had the orders. After calling them all we finally called back this location demanding we paid them. They finally found the order under some papers and said they would hurry and make the pizza. When they finally arrived 20 minutes before the party was set to end, they apologized by bringing us ONE bottle of coke and an old leftover small box of wings… WHAT…really. They didn’t even offer to discount the pizza.
When we called later and complained the owner, Miles, in a heavy Persian accent said I should have been thrilled they gave us a complimentary bottle of Coke.
What a loser and loser operation.

We order pizza and wings for delivery on a Friday night which took more than 45 mins for being less than 2 miles away, there excuse driver got lost. After we finally got our order we notice that wings were luke warm and soggy, clearly not their best but at least the pizza was hot. Since we our regulars and love this place, my wife decided to stop by days later just give them a a friendly heads up on the delivery time and wings situation, she was given a rude and accusing answer that she was only trying to get something for free if that was the case we would of called that night or the next day. If that’s how you treat your regulars then you won’t last long. Will be take our business somewhere else.

This place rocks. Went here for lunch and did not expect it to be a lounge type of place. The same great food from Big Mamas and Papas with the added bonuse of a bar. You cant go wrong with this location as the bar seating and a drink with your lunch can never hurt. Also has outside seating as well.

Not all locations are the same! We used to order from a different location, moved, and thought we’d try our new one. It was terrible. Worst pizza we’ve ever had… horrible, dull crust, over cooked pizza, flavorless… worse than the worst frozen pizza. I’d say cardboard but I imagine there is cardboard that tastes better. And we waited over an hour. First and last time ordering from BMAP Tarzana. Too bad because some locations are really great.

This place is newly remodel really nice looking bar area. (Only good thing about this place) I ordered their Calzone (it was a quick lunch). Very plain and watery, and really bad customer service.

Best pizzeria in town by far! The people go work here are super cool and made sure my pizza was made to perfection! I have ordered their huge pizzas for parties and they always seem to make my guests happy. They also sell beer here and my friends get their wide variety of special non traditional branded beers all the time. Best place to come to chill and hang out with friends!

I’ve had pizzas from all over the valley. This is by far the best pizza place in a 10 mile radius. I highly recommend.
Dine in or pick up is better than delivery. Delivery will take a while. Would still give this place 10 stars if I could.
They have a great beer selection also. Just a great place with great food.

I actually love their pizza, and their chicken wings! If you had problems with their food– maybe try something else. Can’t see how anyone would not like these pizzas. If you had problems ordering by phone, try internet. Ive been coming to this place and calling them for my work pizza party orders regularly and i’ve always been more than pleased!

Long wait never got to order anything, bad customer service, read reviews before calling here or going!!! Lady hang up phone on me and when I called back she put me on 20 min wait. I didn’t call back.

Worst customer service I have ever received. I have called to order pizza and the lady on the phone said to wait so I waited 5 min. When she got back on the phone she took my information and my credit card didn’t go through because she didn’t put it correctly. I asked her to put it again she put me on hold for another 10 minutes. So I had to call back and she picked up the phone and when I start speaking she was like OMG AND HANG UP THE PHONE. Eventually I ordered the pizza through my card and told her that there is a code to enter the building. Of course she didn’t tell it to the delivery guy. She didn’t speak English good at all and the order took 1 hour. Even tho I am 5 min away.
I love big mamas pizza but for sure I am not coming or calling here again. Please save your self from this horrible customers service, rude people and long wait.

I’ve had the best pizza here for only $ 4 a slice. It’s 75 cents per topping but you can’t be upset with that when you see how big the slices are. I love the service & the beer selection is amazing. The environment is perfect for any type of meal or just to relax with a beer. They have beer specials & plenty of craft beers to try. Update: I’ve been going for over a year now & still love this place. I went today & had an amazing slice of soujoux & bacon pizza with an amazing IPA on special.

Ordered for delivery and was charged more then if I would have ordered online called back after a min to ask why he said the app was wrong so he adjusted r total to receive an extra item. When the delivery came the order was wrong. I called them back and waited 4 min while the delivery guy waited outside finally they came on and the owner of mamas n papas was very rude and confused on how he had processed the order. I expressed I’ve been a long term customer he didn’t care and told me to dispute with my credit card. never again truly sad how they have changed…

I have never experienced worst customer service from anyone then this guy Ray that also told me that is the owner of Big mama & papas, they delivered the wrong order, they overcharged me and when I called to talk about this then Ray, the so called owner told me he didn’t have time to call me and couldn’t send me the normal order so he just went ahead and made that decision and changed my order, he didn’t really care about me being his customer, because he had a lot of customers, so it ended with him hanging up on me and me having the wrong order and getting overcharged… Never going back to this dump and Ray, you should take some classes about management and customer service…
Never ever am I going back to this place!
I would rate this –10 and giving them a award for the worst customer service in town!
And also please read how Ray the owner talk and responds to customers, people like this shouldn’t own a business or get support from any community! He calls people liars and they are making up stuff because this establishment doesn’t function after Ray took over!

Wow this Big Mamas & Papas is completely different than any other location, accidental drive by we had to stop in check it out & I’m glad we did… They just remodeled recently, into a bar/​tavern, we just wanted to order pizza to go but ended up staying for few hours. They have almost 30 specialty beers on tap, nice brick walls wood bars TVs throughout great atmosphere. I asked for a lager, the bartenders both brought out 6 samples of their lagers. Sweet. I always knew their pizza is awesome, but this place rocks. Definitely coming back.
