Food is not that great. I had a chicken shawarma wrap and it was pretty bad. Place is kinda dirty too. They are friendly and professional. Won’t eat there again.

The owner and staff are so caring and it shows in the delicious food. They checked on me several times to make sure everything was PERFECT. Before I left, the owner gave me chicken to feed my dog and wouldn’t let me pay for it. This type of kindness is a rare blessing. Unfortunately I experience it more often with folks who come from the Middle East than I do Americans who were born and raised here. My new fav place to dine!

What a fantastic place! So well flavored and well spiced! Highly recommend it. Also fresh food so people have to understand that when a chef prepares fresh food it takes a little to prepare it. Everyone was so nice and the atmosphere is authentic. Great place!

I used to come to this place at least twice a week, but with the changes the new owner did, he pretty much ruined everything. The food is literally awful, not to mention how rude the staff are. Definitely not coming back and I don’t recommend. For those who like middle eastern food, trust me this restaurant’s food is a joke.

Great food and better customer service. I’m very happy with my lunch experience. The owner was helpful in answering all menu questions and place was perfectly clean, which I always look for.

I was served by a very nice young lady who was very friendly and professional. There was a misunderstanding regarding the menu which stated the item I ordered came with rice, hummus, salad, and pitas. When the main dish arrived as an ala carte entrée I asked about the side items and she told me there was an error on the menu and there were no sides served with the entrée. She then offered me a salad which I accepted. I ordered the Mantoo which is afghan dumplings stuffed with ground beef and topped with yogurt and split peas. It was very good. The food was good but even with the salad I must say I was still hungry when I left.

Beef Shawarma was great! Everything else lacked salt and spices! Falafel was not good! Their attitude is great. The owner seemed like a great guy with passion for what he does. Will go back but not for the falafel!

Very nice restaurant with comfortable leather chairs, covered table cloth and the best Afghan Food around. Try the Mantoo and the Aushak from Afghan. They also serve Mediterranean Food. Hummus with the Zaatar flat bread is yummy as a starter. I enjoy eating the healthy and yummy Chicken & Beef Shawarma and Salmon Fillet for lunch. Vegetarian platter is an excellent choice for vegetarians.

Meh. I’ve experienced better… New owners. Worse food. Less clean. Les fresh. More parking. Less busy. More smelly. More expensive. Less return customers… Like me! Not coming back! If you are the NEXT owner, send me a massage and maybe i’ll come back…

I had heard that with the new ownership the menu had changed. I finally had a chance to the restaurant and try some of the new dishes. It was amazing. They were all foods that I had not had before and loved trying all. My suggestion is to go with a group so you can order as many items off the menu as you can and share.

I’ve eaten at this location three times before this time and each time it was good. But now there are new owners and different cuisine. I feel like we’ve been misled. It was only after we sat down and ordered that I started to notice the differences. The chicken shwarma didn’t look like any chicken shwarma I’ve ever had. Not good. The beef was not good. And why no dressing on the salad? I think they are in for a tough struggle to make it in a very competitive business.

I wasn’t impressed… ordered chicken shawarma. The chicken was extremely dry and flavorless. The shirazi salad was padded in with romaine leaves, which are just a cheap filler to cut corners on the actual ingredients; in addition the salad was severely lacking in lemon juice, giving it a bland and underwhelming taste. The hummus and pickles were good, but you have to be really lacking to mess those up. Overall, super bland and not particularly cheap.

So we had a lot of reservations coming to this restaurant in the first place. The Unilocal reviews seem hit or miss. We were really craving shawarma tho so we decided to try it. We said salad with dressing on the side, the girl at the cash register definitely heard us and acknowledged this request. Unfortunately the dressing was on the salad. All of the 3 we ordered to go. That was disappointing. The pita bread blah, we stopped at the local Persian market and bought some sangak bread. I feel bad we threw so much of the pita been away. I’m just not a fan of pita bread personally. Flavorless. I love good tasty bread. Now for the chicken shawarma it was pretty good… Worth coming to this place if you are really craving it. Our order took a very long time to make and we purposely did not choose the chicken kabob because the girl at the counter said the chicken kabob would take an extra 15 min and the shawarma could be made immediately. We figured we would rather not wait for the kabobs and be out in 15 min. I think the whole thing took 20 min anyways. That was also disappointing since we figured we had changed our order to have it made quicker when in reality it took longer.

Updating my review because this place has new owners, new menu, and basically hijacked the other 5 star reviews. New chef kinda sucks, zero seasoning in the dishes I got, very bland. Will try one more time before never again.

Short version: Falafel sandwich Very Good! Tabbuleh side Very GOOD/GREAT ingredients! French Fries not good. I can give it five stars but a couple things keep it from this. The details… The falafel sandwich was very good. It needed more Tahini and parsley(?maybe), but it was very good falafel balls and ingredients. Needs more tahini sauce to be a more moist. The toasted sandwich made all the difference with it wrapped up. It was one of the best falafel sandwiches I have had! I had a side of Tabuli. I am so tired of Mediterranean places serving tabuli with so much added cracked wheat. Yes we understand its a cheap filler… well don’t be so cheap and try to pass it off as «a style» of tabuli ! For proper tabbuli use your knife to cut so it doesn’t wilt quickly and become mush, and dont load it with wheat. Simple right. No… they(most) don’t understand this. Its just supposed to be a light sprinkle. If you squint your eyes, you should see green and red only! Ariana understands this… and makes a great tabbuli. (But it needs a little more tang/lemon and juice. It was very little.) Hate to mention but I think they forgot to put ANY cracked wheat in the tabuli! But I’ll take it over too much wheat ANY day! I ordered some french fries. Fries were disappointing. I don’t eat fries very often. Maybe once a month or less. So when I have it, it better count. They were frozen french fries with a sticky bite. They were fried golden, but they don’t even taste like potatoes. Please change your fries and I’ll add a star. This is likely just an oversight for convenience and I hope they would be changed soon. Falafel sandwich $ 4.95 FrenchFries $ 3.50 Tabbule $ 5.95 Other thoughts… Overall…its a tough market when across the street you have someone selling tasty falafel sandwiches for 99cents, or $ 2! The french fries across the street in the small stand are fresh cut REAL potatoes… So there really is no excuse you can’t pre-prep French Fires, soak them and then drain them(some folks skip this draining step, and it makes it a challenge to get golden crisp if you dont drain and instead leave it in water, sometimes a double fry is in order). Anyway… They are very different falafels. Ariana’s you can really taste it and its a dark brown crisp on the outside. The other I can’t really say I taste the falafel and its a lighter color. I can easily taste the falafel in Ariana’s specifically. Not sure why, but I think I will try it again :-) Its not fair to compare a stand vs a café style place, but its just an interesting observation I hope can be useful. Now TeLAviv down the street opened up, which we will try next… For the falafel show down! :-) Lots of choices. For a quick tasty bite with real french fries the Crazy guy is the spot. But for a relatively quick sit-down and some other menu items with variety, surely Ariana’s will be the spot. You have to consider, one being a sandwich stand you can get away with less perfection. They are different businesses serving different needs.

We stumbled upon this little non discript location in a Ventura blvd strip mall that had great food reviews… Clearly we had our doubts and maybe the owner had all of family, friends, associates and aquantances give great reviews. Actually 4.5 Stars… Nope Pita Corner Café is a hidden little gem that serves really really good Mediterranean food. The Beef /Chicken Shawarma wraps($ 6.99) are sooo good packed with flavorful meats, lettuce, pickled veggies, tomato, Parsley, hummus and a too die for wrap… The real deal The Chicken Kabob plate($ 9.99) is also wonderful moist, flavorful kabobs packed on a plate with salad, rice, veggies, hummus, tahini and that too die for pita wrap. Oh yeah did i mention really affordable food the service is spotty but they try. Small menu but the food is fresh, big flavor and inexpensive. The restaurant is basically nothing to speak of unless of course your a fan of Diners, Drive In’s and Dives that features little hole in the wall places with food that is legit… Program Pita Corner Café in your navigation system and when your hungry or just out in the valley do yourself a big favor and visit you will not be sorry I assure you…

We ordered two beef kebab plates and a salad. The beef kabobs were cooked well done and the flavor was ok. The rice also had decent flavor and the hummus was tasty. The fattoush salad came with fried pita chips that were horribly rancid. They were throughout the salad which left it inedible. The meal didn’t come with the typical charred tomato, just pickles. That was a dissapointment. They charged 5 $ for delivery. Overall, I don’t think I’d eat here again. I’ve been spoiled by Knights in Burbank, they have consistently good food and are priced fairly but alas, they are far away. P. s. The owner contacted me and apologized and offered a refund. That was kind. Someone else also contacted me and told me off… who knew giving my opinion on a meal I paid for would stir such a fuss.

Definitely sceptical on the 5 stars this place had because its hard to beat a certain falafel place in North Hollywood but it stood up to the 5 stars it has been getting. The food is made fresh and the presentation is very good as well. This place is super clean and the girl at the front is very helpful with the pronunciation of their menu items. The owner was there and he was very nice and grateful of the business his customers are bringing in. This place stands among the better places to grab a bite in the valley and one of the better pita places that my friend and I have tried. If you are looking for a place to eat in the Valley this place is a great choice and they deliver too if your not able to get out of the house.
