Great spot. High energy. Fantastic food. Love the chicken shwarma, the hummus, grilled meats, etc. Friendly, attentive customer service too. Highly recommended.

The two stars is because I didn’t even eat here… I saw the menu and thought where’s all the hummus? Only like 3 kinds? and none are included in a meal and a side is $ 10 or more. This place needs to be re-named.

Their Humus and Lafa bread is so good. I was surprised how many salads they offered us. Me and my wife enjoyed our lunch so much. Every time when we come to Tarzana we will stop by to have our Humus and Falafel.

After two months of being MIA I had to start my foodie reviews with this spot! Good lord to the pie size pita bread with their amazing house hummus! This bread and creamy hummus is so good. So good you don’t need to order NOTHING else. Save yo money and overdose on this pita bread and hummus. It was definitely a food coma type of night.

You can’t touch their hummus. There isn’t any better. Endless fresh baked lava bread. The food is always fresh and good and with generous portions. Indoor and outdoor seating, a casual environment, popular. Also has a bar and TVs, good wait staff. Decent shopping center that has underground parking, on Ventura and has bushes in the center to block road noise. Good family place or a place to hang with friends.

This review is long overdue. I went here about a year ago with a large group of people from San Diego. The flavors here are amazing and some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life. I was really really shocked and not expecting this. The customer service was great as well. Everyone was happy and polite to me the whole time. If I lived closer this would be a regular spot for me! If you go here you will not be disappointed. Enjoy!

The Hummus Bar is really a great place to go if you want to eat the best middle eastern food in LA. Their Pine nuts and Mushroom hummus is to die for! They also serve you with a varieties of salads. Atmosphere is great. Service is very friendly. Really Great! Five stars for me and I’d give more if I could :)

I would say this is one of my favorite places where you can eat very delicious homemade Israeli food! But I hate their service, you have to wait at least 10 min before the waitress comes to your table, also tables, couches, floor are always dirty!!! The only reason I’m giving 4 stars because of the food otherwise I would give them 1 star!!! Hope you guys will make some improvements soon!

I was incredibly disappointed by our delivery order from here last night. The food took close to an hour and a half, which would have been perfectly fine if the food had come hot. However, by the time the food reached us, it was barely even luke warm. The fries were soggy, the laffa was really chewy and undercooked. I’m sure the food would have been very good had it been relatively fresh and hot. Now to the second problem. One of our orders was missing, leaving someone without their food after an hour and a half wait. When I called to let them know, they said it would be at least an hour to get the new dish out to us. At least an hour! My poor friend had to scavenge in her cupboards for something to eat, because an hour was far too long to wait after we already waited an hour and a half. The woman on the phone was very unsympathetic. We were transferred to the manager who, while more sympathetic, wasn’t able to do anything to help us. Very disappointed.

After so many people have recommended i eat here… i finally gave in. Why didn’t i listen sooner? Loved it all. We got the falafel and cauliflower as appetizers, best I’ve ever had. The falafel was cooked perfectly, crunchy outside and super soft inside. So many times ive had burnt falafel @ other restaurants. Mushroom hummus was unreal, so creamy and delicious! I could eat this for every meal. We really could have stopped ordering there. But the excitement of a new spot caused us to over order. The Israeli salad was chopped perfectly and the flavor was on point. The shawarma melted in my mouth. We ended up with so many leftovers, I’m pretty excited to eat more later! Our server was funny and attentive. Yet the food was so good he could have been a terrible server and we would still come back. What an experience. Hummus Bar and Grill, you’ve earned a loyal customer out of me!

After living in Israel for 11 years, I love Israeli food. This place has two locations one in Tarzana and one on 3rd st. Promenade in Santa Monica. I Visited both places and food is consistent. Service was good at both locations and prices are normal. There are very few places that remind me of True Israely restaurants. One of these places is Sunni Caffe on Westwood and the other one is Itzik Hagadol in Encino. Hummus bar is a more casual place and prices are lower than at Itzik and the same as at Sunni. Try Romanian kebab and hummus with mushrooms.

The chicken Schworm a hummus for starters was amazing. The bread is amazing. Having said that, if your first few bites are incredible then you know the rest of the meal is great. I brought my father in and he enjoyed it thoroughly. We had ordered the falafel with the Heaney sauce and we ordered the chicken Schworm all with especially bulls and rice. I am using text to phone so if this does not make sense then Schworm off should be added to the iPhone dictionary. Let’s blame Siri for this one. I will come back as the bread is fresh made and you can fill up with just your appetizer. Yes the service is a little bit interesting but minus that typical Los Angeles not so dutiful to its patrons concept. This restaurant is superb. I will be back!

I’ve been here a few years back and there is a reason I didn’t return for so long. Came here for a small birthday gathering on Friday night. Place wasn’t to packed. We ordered different kind of salads, appetizers, meat. Nothing was really good, everything was meh. The only thing I enjoyed was the bread they give. The whole party wasn’t satisfied and we all had the same opinion. They have Pepsi products and no bottle water even. Won’t be back.

This is probably one of the best Middle Eastern/Mediterranean place to eat at. I live in West LA and I am also a vegetarian but that never stops me from coming to this place. The ambiance of the place is great, the servers are always smiling and friendly and not to mention the food comes out really fast and it’s always delicious. Me being a vegetarian I still have plenty of eating options. My favorite things to order when I go there are the Turkish Coffee, Israeli Salad and Falafel Plate. I usually go there with my dad and these food items is perfect for the two of us to have a nice lunch. It’s definitely a great place to go to if you haven’t been. They have a nice variety of food options from non-veg to veg. Hope they open more locations around LA soon!

We came here during Passover because they got rid of all the chametz and have passover bread(which is made from potato and it was actually yummy!). It’s not kosher certified, but rather more loose(Israeli-style) so they were open on chag day which is great for me. The food: The best hummus in SoCal. The 2nd best I’ve had in the USA(best is in SF). Super fresh, tastes amazing, good texture, not too much tahini — which is a trick some places use which makes it cheaper to make but doesn’t taste as good — not Hummus Bar! They keep it real. LOVE. The service: Our waiter was sweet, on top of everything, brought us more pickled stuff when we requested, spoke English and Hebrew. The place: Good space, many tables, cute bar too, clean with a good vibe! I highly recommend this place!

Was in traffic and hungry and craving a sandwich or quick bite. Hummus Bar & Grill came through, to say the least. My guy and I each ordered the chicken schwarma pita. The hummus was fantastic! Seriously, some of the best I’ve had. The chicken was delicious… more chicken skewers than chicken schwarma, though. A bit pricey, but the ingredients were top of the line and we both felt the pita number was delightful and just what we needed to battle the monster known as US-101.

Great place to feast! Perfect for large parties. I always end up eating way too much every time I’m here lol. The pita’s are huge and brought out continually. I love the mushroom hummus, so yummy! For first timers I recommend the skewers. They have a selection of either, chicken or beef and a couple of other cuts. For the more adventurous they have some dishes with more interesting cuts of meat. On my last visit I ordered the Jeresulam mix a very flavorful mix of chicken liver and hearts. I enjoyed it very much. My friend got a beef filet skewer which was a but under cooked I recommend you ask for it a bit on the well done side as they tend to under cook it if you don’t. The sides here are really good as well as the appetizers. My friend ordered the fried cauliflower and we got an appetizer platter for the table that included these meat«cigars» and falafels among other things. Always a fun time every time we come here and tons of left overs! Don’t forget to ask for done pitas and order an extra hummus to go :)

I have to say, food was quite good overall. some were a MISS but some made up for it by being DELISH Had the Wiener Schnitzel(chicken) which was okay, it deserves 4****, the mushroom Hummus(5*****), I had the rice(3****) my friend had the fries(he liked it I didn’t). Free glass of VERYGOOD Chardonnay when you check in 5*****. What was the cherry on the top of the day was the desert. Its called MALABI and its like something I never had before. Rose water, some red stuff on top, pistachio. Its mouth watering and addictive. The waitress was Israeli and you have to excuse them for being blunt, I think its in their language, it is not a sign of rudeness. When she didn’t understand my order she simply replied«WHAT ???» instead of «Excuse me »? , but I have been to Israel and I have Israeli friends and this is just the way they talk. She recommended the desert and that was a great recommendation. Overal happy with her plus we were in a good mood to begin with :-) I will be back and will bring friends. If they could UP the rice quality and flavor a little bit by than, I hope to give them 5***** next time.

My Family and I came here on Christmas Day it was one of the few restaurants on Ventura Blvd that was actually open on Christmas. First off let me say the service was great! This place was really packed and we were a party of 7 and they were able to get us in within 5 mins. Our servers were great and anything we had asked they brought out promptly. So here’s my issue its the food! The food is not that good. The actual kebabs were horrible the meat sucked. Thank goodness I only got 1 skewer of chicken. I mean how bad can chicken taste my chicken was overcooked burnt and the lamb and other meat we ordered was blahhh. The veggies were good as well as the chicken strips we got the kids they had panko crumbs on the chicken. It was very crispy and good but the fries sucked I felt they were definitely undercooked. We enjoyed the laffa bread, veggies and the dessert we got was unique but as far as coming back… Probably never again. I wasn’t a fan of the meat.:(But good service! Ohhh and also if you check in on Unilocal you get a free glass of Chardonay 3 of my family members checked in and they all got 3 free glasses of wine which was nice but they all felt the Chardonay was sour and not good. None of them finished it!

We come here for work all the time, lunch meetings galore, I love getting the hummus, with that bread, omg it is amazing. It’s not really that authentic, but for hummus and some chicken kebabs, it does the job well. Everything that I’ve gotten here is really good, the only problem I have is the parking is an absolute nightmare.

My husband and I came here many years ago and we always tell ourselves that we need to come back again because we loved what we ordered and the service was very good. We ordered the following items: Garbanzo Hummus($ 7.99): delicious, can eat this every day!!! Beef Hummus($ 10.99): wonderful addition to Hummus. This should be a staple at my home. Garden Salad($ 8.99): Probably won’t get next time. $ 9 for a plain side salad is extreme. 2 Chicken Breast Skewers with rice and French fries($ 17.99): very good, the chicken was moist and tender. Cup of Mushroom Soup($ 5.99): tons of mushrooms! Looking forward to going again!

The food will surpass your expectation. All their foods have unique flavors and textures that you have never tasted anywhere else. The food portion is pretty big and perfect for family style lunch or dinner. They deliver the appetizer to your table super-fast and the appetizers make you full before your food even gets to the table. The restaurant itself is not a fancy place; it is more like a casual restaurant with a fast service. The service is beyond great. The waiters and waitresses keep checking up on you to make sure their customers are satisfied and happy. Highly recommended!
