Why 5 stars? Cuz Brett did But seriously, I love good Vietnamese food, it just seems lighter and fresher than American Chinese food. I stopped in here with my portable person and while she is less adventurous, we started with spring rolls, delicious. I enjoy Phở. I had the Filet Mignon Phở, regular size was more than enough. Great flavors, I really enjoyed it. Service was prompt, fun and fast. Not much to improve on here.

Simply phở has really basic phở. It’s not all that good. It kinda taste like they make shortcuts with the food. I live in Carrollwood and was excited that we had a phở place here but it is not worth going to! The noodles swell up as soon as they hit the broth!

It appears they sold the place and it is now under new ownership, New Management. The entire crew is different. There is an owner sitting at the corner, in front of the cash register, eating, chewing loudly with his mouth open, speaking in Vietnamese even louder. It appears to be a permanent sitting area for him. The previous owner was classy, professional, and would never have done that. The food is different. The broth is no longer high quality like it was described in my previous review. The broth in the phở now has too much thuoc bac(medicinal herbs) in it. Presentation was non-existing. They just slapped stuff together. The new crew is absent-minded, inattentive, forgetful. I no longer recommend this establishment.

Yum! Simply Phở is located in a strip plaza just off of Dale Mabry. The address says Dale Mabry, but it is arguably easier to get to from Fletcher. Plenty of parking. The restaurant is set up nicely, and the inside seems clean, well organized, and generally appealing. There was no wait, and we were greeted and seated immediately by a very pleasant server. We ordered spring rolls and dumplings to start. Both were very good choices, and we collectively enjoyed every last bite. For the main course, we each ordered Buhn with beef and egg roll. The Buhn was spectacular! I love this dish because I feel full after, but not bloated after eating mine, and the left overs of my Wife! Ilove vietnamese coffee but it was too late in the day to intake that much caffiene, so next time I will be sure to try it. Clean inviting restaurant, pleasant staff, damn good food, and fair prices. What else can you ask for when you eat out. If you’ve never tried vietnamese food, try it here. If you like vietnamese cuisine, try this place, you wont be dissappointed.

Impressed is the word I will use when describing Simoly PHO’. Bring a hearty appetite your going to need it to attempt to polish off one of these tremendous sized bowls they serve. My beautiful wife and I started off with 2 appetizers a fried dumpling platter and which was basic fair and then the WoW factor was the shrimp sausage wrap in bean curd. Super tasty appetizer. I got the combo PHO with eye of round steak, flank steak, brisket, and beef meatballs for my main course. My beauty tried the filet mignon PHO. Now on the side comes a platter consisting of Thai basil, bean sprouts, fresh limes, jalapeños. Also you can flavor to your tastes using Siracha and Housin sauce. Most PHO I have tried in Tampa has been a bland broth but this broth brings a multitude of layers of flavor. You won’t be disappointed!

This is a five star Phở joint. I moved here from chicago-the land of a million authentic Vietnamese restaurants and havent found one better than this place. The Phở itself is intensely flavorful. They know how to balance the 25+ ingredients that go into a good bowl of Phở. The whole place smells amazing when you walk in. The atmosphere is romantic and cozy, but ive seen all walks of life there: families, dates, business groups. Its a great place to go with a medium size group. The prices are great. The service is awesome they are so friendly ITISSOFAST! I go when I am really hungry! Phở is the ultimate«soul» food, it is very good when you have a cold too, get it to go!

Location: Simply Phở(Fletcher Ave) Date: 4−5−16 Time: 1730 Simply Phở is a medium sized restaurant located in a strip mall on Fletcher Ave and offers a large variety of Vietnamese offerings with a focus on soups and noodle dishes. We decided on one appetizer and two mains: A-6 Vegetarian Spring Rolls(2) $ 3.50 The spring rolls were rather flat on their own and could have benefited from some mint or more basil to make them a bit more interesting. The included peanut dipping sauce was very tasty with a robust flavor and worked very well with the roll. SP-1 Spicy Noodle Soup $ 9.50 The soup arrived with a side plate of accoutrements(Thai basil, sprouts, and sliced jalapenos) and had a rich red colored broth with many yummy proteins(grilled pork, grilled chicken and grilled beef). The broth looked better than it tasted and was not very«spicy» as advertised. There was tableside Sriracha that I added, but I was hoping for more from the broth out of the kitchen. The rice noodles were fresh and plentiful, as were the proteins. Overall the soup was decent, but could have been improved with a more though out broth. B-1 Vermicelli Combination $ 12.95 The misses decided upon the vermicelli combination which had noodles, grilled pork, grilled shrimp, pork sausage and shrimp sausage wrap with a side of house fish sauce. This dish was basically noodles, some pickled veggies and then some tasty fried items from the appetizer menu… and delicious. This dish is a good way to see what Simply Phở has to offer on one plate and all the various items work surprisingly well together. It does have the guilt effect to it(after eating it you feel food guilt) but one can look past that from time to time. Water Closets — 2/Singles The restrooms are located in the rear of the restaurant and were singles with two in total. They were tidy, handicapped friendly and well-appointed without being anything special. Overall We now have visited this establishment three times and I can honestly say that if it wasn’t so close to our house, we wouldn’t make the trip here. There are so many other options in the Tampa Bay area that far exceed Simply Phở’s offerings.

I generally like trying new Vietnamese restaurants in search of an authentic, just-like-home taste. I’ve heard a lot of good reviews from Simply Phở so I decided to give it a try. Solely based on looks, everything looks great at Simply Phở. Their restaurant is trendy, modern and clean. The food looks amazing. And the service is prompt, you won’t except too much wait time here. I ordered my favorite soup, Bun Bo Hue and my date ordered their Phở Dac Biet. Very standard dishes at Vietnamese restaurants. Oftentimes, I like to compare these two dishes to what I usually have at home. Of course, nothing can beat home cooking, but a good Vietnamese restaurant is based on how close it resembles the authentic flavors of home. Our soups came out and everything looked spotless. The Bun Bo Hue looked pretty spot-on to what I was used to. Perfectly red in color, thick noodles, and a good selection of meat. My date’s Phở Dac Biet also looked extremely appetizing. But here’s the criticism. The food lacked flavor. the Bun Bo Hue broth was extremely bland and was not spicy at all in taste. I had to add quite a bit of Sriracha to try to mimic the spiciness that the original broth should have but the blandness of the broth just made my soup taste like Sriracha in the end. My date’s phở was also extremely underwhelming at all. He had to add quite a bit of Hoison Sauce and Sriracha to try to get some flavor into the soup but ultimately it couldn’t be helped that the dishes just lacked flavor. Hot sauce, Hoison sauce and lime is added to Vietnamese soups to give it a little extra flavor but it shouldn’t dominate the entire flavor of the soup. Overall, I was not satisfied with my food experience. If you’re looking for real authentic Vietnamese food, head down the road a little further to Saigon Deli. It’s cheaper there too.

Ok yea it is clean and very cute inside, oh and the music was very nice so if I wasn’t rating the food I would give this place 5 stars. But I am only rating the food and one word sums it up, Bland. The Phở has very little if any flavor. I eat Phở often and so far Tampa has just one place that comes close and that Saigon Deli. If this place used their recipe it would be a real hit.

I really like this restaurant, and I have been here a few times. They are very clean, modern, & have cool lights like a night club. My chicken phở with egg noodles is always nice and warm and delicious and filling. I also like their fried spring rolls. Every time we go here, we always get good service. This is one of my favorites!

Don’t let the outside fool you! Yes, it’s in a strip mall, but they have an excellent menu with delicious, fresh Vietnamese food including phở. I came for lunch the other day with a group of 4 people. I had the vegetable phở which was huge and delicious, and they have veggie broth available for strict vegetarians! Other people in my party tried a seafood based soup, a bubble tea smoothie, and a rice vermicelli with pork. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. The service was quick, the portions were larger than I expected, and the prices are as expected for the area. It’s not the best Vietnamese food in Tampa, but if I’m in Carroll wood I would definitely eat here again.

Started with a crab Rangoon which came in 5 pieces and has a generous amount of filling. You can taste the crab essence and fried to perfection. My husband had the filet phở and I had the grilled pork and eggroll vermicelli without the vermicelli by choice. I eat this dish like a salad and filling it with noodles would just unnecessarily take up too much space and I certainly don’t want to miss out on the dessert. The sauce that came with my dish is seasoned proportionately with great taste. Generous amount of the veggies to compensate for not having the rice noodles. My husband ‘s phở was incredibly tasty. Hot on arrival. The basil, lime and sprouts that accompanied the soup were all fresh. Lastly, we finished it off with a dessert that propelled this place to 5 stars in my eyes(and stomach) How can you make a cheesecake better? Wrapping it then frying it and serving with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! Descriptive linguistic wouldn’t suffice so Try it for yourself … What a great addition in c’wood!

Tucked away in an unassuming strip mall at the corner of Dale Mabry and Fletcher Avenue, in the heart of Carrollwood, you’ll find the charming little Simply Phở & Grill. The restaurant occupies the same shopping plaza as Fresh Market and Bed, Bath & Beyond, but it’s sitting around the corner so that it faces out onto Fletcher Avenue. This is very good Vietnamese food served in a surprisingly classy environment. It’s not the best phở in town, but it is certainly quite good, and it fills the need for lunch or dinner if you’re in that section of northern Hillsborough county and looking for something different to eat. The restaurant is sleek and modern, with a colorful light display around the room. Seating is primarily in booths designed for groups of four people. The wait staff is extremely friendly, and very helpful, making this the perfect place to visit if you are new to Vietnamese food. The menu has a lot of the traditional Vietnamese appetizers — Spring rolls, pork sausage rolls, steamed or fried dumplings(Gyozas), shrimp wraps, crab Rangoon, and even chicken wings. By all means try something different, and share with your tablemates. There are stir-fried noodle bowls with egg or rice noodles and a variety of different proteins(shrimp, seafood, squid, chicken, beef, or pork) sitting atop. They also serve soft vermicelli or Vietnamese Angel hair noodle bowls topped with grilled meats and seafood, and served with lettuce, bean sprouts, sliced cucumber, and crushed peanuts. Very tasty and surprisingly healthy. If you prefer rice dishes, they have fried rice in a vegetarian style, or loaded up with a variety of proteins and veggies. Broken Jasmine rice platters are another favorite with grilled pork, chicken, beef, sausage wrap, and shrimp as toppings. One of the main reasons that people visit Simply Phở is for their noodle soups(Phở) which is a northern Vietnamese dish with a rich and hearty beef broth that has simmered for hours and hours. Again, you select your protein which is added to a bowl of broth, rice noodles, yellow onions, scallions, cilantro, and a combination of spices and herbs; serve that with a side of cilantro, basil, bean sprouts, jalapeño peppers, and lime wedges. Grab your little Asian spoon and your favorite pair of chopsticks, and start slurping! Simply Phở is a terrific little spot to enjoy a bowl of noodle soup, or any of these other Vietnamese delicacies. They’re open till 9:30 on weeknights, and 10pm on the weekends.

Before reading my review on this place just keep in mind this isn’t my style of food in the first place. I was just wanting to try something new with that being said I think the food was okay. The amount of food I can put away isn’t normal and I left this restaurant pretty good for around 13 dollars. I will say if looking for a appetizer go with the crab Rangoon it was delicious. The inside is way smaller then I thought it would be but very nicely designed. Everything seemed to be really clean and has a real comfortable vibe. I’d say good for dates or groups kids not so much even though they do have a kids menu. The staff were very friendly and on point with the good service. I’d say if your into this type of food for sure give them a chance. If your like me on the other hand and just wanting to try something different I’d say keep looking.

I don’t know about y’all but I can only eat thanksgiving leftovers so many times before I just can’t even any more. So, 24 hours after Thanksgiving I find myself headed over to Simply Phở in an effort to Phở-gettabout turkey and casseroles. Walking in, it’s a pretty nice looking joint for a phở place. I’m more used to the cafeteria style chaos where strangers sit together slurping over a steaming bowl. The waiter comes promptly with a menu. Geez Louis there are a ton of options. Clearly it is actually NOT simply phở. I have a standard measure whenever I go to a new phở place– their special(usually everything and the kitchen sink) phở, or the spicy noodle soup. I asked him which one is better. He looked rather perplexed by my question but finally said, he preferred the spicy. So, I went with that. Normally when I have ordered this, it comes with phở noodles. This one came with these thicker round noodles. I didn’t prefer it. The broth had good rich flavor but was a bit oily. The meat was plentiful. It wasn’t spicy at all to me. The price was $ 10. Overall, I was quite satisfied and although I have had better phở at Saigon Deli on Waters Ave, this one is closer to home and a nicer ambiance. I will definitely be back to try their special phở next. Now I just have to wait for the weather to cool down another 10 degrees…

Why 5 stars? Because I didn’t want the vermicelli to end. — — — After recently moving to the neighborhood, I’ve been spending a lot of time with my contractor in the new house. And said contractor will not shut up about how amazing Simply Phở is. I got so sick of him telling me that I had to check it out, that I just gave in and went for lunch today. He was right! I was full long before finishing my meal, but I just wanted to keep shoveling it down my gullet like the glutton that I am. I have nothing to compare it to, because I believe it was my first time eating vermicelli, but it was amazing. It’s basically a bed rice, noodles, and some veggies, smothered in a combination of meats: shrimp, pork, sausage and shrimp wraps. Of course, that’s the vermicelli combination… if you aren’t a fan of any of those, you can opt for just one in particular. I wanted to try the phở here, but I decided against it. First of all, it may be October 1st, but it’s still thoroughly summer out there. And secondly, I’ve never been a huge fan of phở when I’ve tried it in the past. Maybe I’m just not much of a soup person. But I learned today, I am definitely a vermicelli person.

This is a nice restaurant. That is the best I can say. Not extraordinary just nice. The food is good and the service is out of the world. The prices were good. It is just when you leave you leave you are just now over whelmed. You feel like you got a good meal was treated pretty good and paid a very fair price. Just no bam! My wife had the egg noodles with beef. I had the stir fry beef. The sauce tasted really good in fact my wife rubbed her beef in the sauce of my stir fry. In saying all that I will be back, I feel it’s a good value! A good restaurant.

Simply phở is minutes away from Saigon Deli. Such brave souls. Let’s keep it simple. Ingredients were very fresh. Everything was tasty. The phở? Good, but I prefer saigon’s. The meat might be higher quality like the meatball, but the broth isn’t as deep. I was missing the star anise. However, their broth has a cleaner taste. Also, the greens that came with the phở was very meager. I love a lot of basil leaves and sprouts in my phở. They were also missing the culantro. The beef vermicelli was great. The beef wasn’t phenomenal, but the veggies were all so fresh and I was quite satisfied. What I didn’t expect was how good their drinks are. Their thai tea was very good and almost the perfect amount of sweetness for me. The fruit of the lychee drink was very fresh and tasty. If anything, its the drinks may tempt me to stray once in a while from Saigon Deli. Oh and btw, «kobe beef» is not kobe beef. It was illegal to import until recent years and an extremely rare beef from Japan. I docked a star because I don’t appreciate dishonesty.

Place was just ok for me. Tried the Braised Duck Phở and it was not what I expected, Duck was a bit gummy and the broth lacked something, cant quite put my finger on it. Figured I’d try the regular Phở before knocking it, and though I enjoyed it more than the Braised Duck Phở, it was nothing special. Once you’ve tried excellent phở such as the one from a little place called Saigon on Waters ave it changes your taste buds for good and there is no going back. I was not feeling the bubble tea either. Just not enjoyable, I could only do but a couple sips till I threw in the towel. Service was there, ambiance was nice, thats as far as I’ll go… For the money, you can do better. My take.
