Loved it! Too bad we live 3hrs away. Amazing food and staff We order a sandwich and a house specialty. Amazing flavor, not a heavy feeling. The coffee 2 thumbs up !

I came here based on other Unilocal reviews and the fact that this Viet location also has an array of banh mi’s! Since this was my first time here I got Beef Phở, Fresh Rolls, and a pork banh mi. This place was really good and the food came out at varying times, but overall very quickly. I have no complaints and the banh mi might of been my favorite thing. You also cannot beat the $ 3.00 price point! I will be back here when I need my viet fill.

Small but cozy place to grab a quiet bite to eat. The plaza it’s located in houses several different Asian businesses, all of which are worth a visit after sitting down for lunch. The food was great, if not a little difficult to order due to the somewhat confusing descriptions in the menu. The soup options come with a $ 2 up-charge to upgrade to a «large», but the regular portions are MASSIVE. Even the«buns»(essentially rice paper rolls) are incredibly filling for the $ 3 price tag. The parking lot is a little sketchy(not to mention the smell from the open-air fish market in the building next door…), but if you can look past the somewhat run-down aesthetic of the plaza itself, you’re down for an incredibly filling, flavorful and authentic experience.

I was tooling back up Dale Mabry from some meetings in South Tampa, and decided to stop for lunch at one of my long-time bookmarked spots. Phở Nhu Trang is located near the intersection of Dale Mabry and Waters, in the little coral-colored Asian shopping plaza that sits behind the PNC Bank on the east side of Waters. Phở Nhu Trang can be found in the space that originally was home to Saigon Deli, several years ago. This little Vietnamese restaurant sits next door to the Lien Hoa Asian Market, and it’s been home to a few different restaurants in that time. The good news is that the folks running Phở Nhu Trang invested the time and effort to scrub this place from top to bottom, and the restaurant is now sparkling clean. This is a family-owned and operated restaurant run by people who moved from Vietnam to the US just a few years ago. They brought their knowledge and love of Vietnamese cuisine, and they’re happy to share the experience with their patrons. If you’re not sure what to order, then just ask, and they’ll gladly walk you through the choices. For those who are familiar with casual Vietnamese cuisine, you’ll see a lot of your favorites on the menu. To start they have Spring rolls, soups, and papaya salads among other appetizer options. They have several different types of Phở soup, as well as rice noodle soup, Udon noodle soup, and egg noodle soup. They offer Bun, or rice vermicelli bowls, rice bowls, and a mix of special entrées with chicken, beef, pork, seafood, and vegetarian dishes. If you’re a fan of the Vietnamese sandwiches on baguettes, known as banh mi, you’ll find several different options. They also have hot pot stews and daily specials. I chose an order of Spring rolls to start, and followed that with Bún Bò Xào which was lemongrass-seasoned beef, sitting atop rice vermicelli noodles with veggies and chopped peanuts for some extra crunch. The Bun came with a tasty vinegar dipping sauce. Now if you still have some room after all of that food, Phở Nhu Trang makes up boba smoothies which are popular dessert drinks. This is a nice little place, filled with some very friendly folks. Don’t be shy about stopping in and trying a different cuisine.

Out on Saturday shopping we needed-to eat and get out of the rain . We ordered a few ban mi, phở and noodles. As we waited for the food we were handed a delightful cup of ice oolong tea. Got our food and stepped out into the rain to get up the car so we could eat a ban mi. The sandwich was delicious ! The meat was soft and well spiced, daikon veggies are pungent as was the jalapeño . We ordered the seafood phở and it was a huge bowl of fresh fish and a not salty beef broth. Inside the restaurant is a glass case full of items to take home for a quick plate of noodles. Great fresh food with wonderful service.

I really had high hopes for this place since a lot of people have recommended it for its vegetarian options. I ordered the veggie udon noodle soup and my friend got the veggie phở. The udon noodle soup had lots of veggies and tofu, but the broth was flavorless which was disappointing. The veggie phở was a little on the sweet side(?) and again, the broth was flavorless. There were a couple of other vegetarian options on the menu I may go back to try, but will definitely search elsewhere for a good veggie noodle soup.

We popped in on Easter because I was hungry, in the mood for Phở and this was the closest place after our inspiring visit to the Tampa Museum of Art. Apparently, on Easter day, we were the only ones looking for Vietnamese food because there were no other customers on Sunday at 6pm! Our grilled pork fresh spring rolls($ 3) were large and quite tasty. The peanut sauce was flavorful, especially with a generous helping of sriracha. Then, on to our phở. My chicken phở ga($ 6) hit the spot and my wife’s phở with everything including the kitchen sink($ 8) was also satisfying. I don’t think we can say it was the most flavorful broth we’ve ever had but we were happy. The price of this entire enjoyable meal was very reasonable, even with our Vietnamese iced coffee added in. Pro tip: After plucking the basil leaves for our phở, we took the stems home and planted them so we can have more basil soon! Start your own garden by ordering phở! It works! At the end of the meal, we were inspired to buy some Vietnamese groceries so we went to the neighboring store after dinner!

I want to update my review and give Phở Nhu Trang 5 stars. I placed an order for a pick up last night. It was a chilly night, and my hubby and I just wanted something warm in our tummy. I ordered my hubby’s usual fave which is chicken phở soup with egg noodles. For me, I’m always wanting to try something new. I told the person over the phone I was thinking of a wonton/egg noodle soup or a round eye steak beef soup with egg noodles. She let me know to try the round eye steak beef soup with egg noodles. I am so happy I did. I simply loved it. The broth tasted so good like sweet and savory. When my hubby picked both of our orders up along with fresh spring rolls and fried spring rolls. It was packaged perfectly with all of our noodles and leaves, and inclusions for our soups so perfectly and organized. I really appreciated that. Our broth came in two plastic tall containers. All he did was come home, and we ate it up. Their assistance on the phone was so helpful and nice, and we were both happy, satisfied, and warm. For this reason, I will definitely say 5 stars for Phở Nhu Trang.

So amazing! I was beyond impressed by the amount of vegetarian options and it made for a very difficult decision. I chose the veggie phở and it was heaven in a bowl. The best part about it was the broth, which was perfectly seasoned(not bland and needed spices like some phở dishes can be) and complemented the veggies and noodles wonderfully. The tofu was also a surprise standout. I will definitely be back.

Upon making my return home from Carrollwood I had the urge to check out a new Vietnamese spot I had been hearing about. Phở Nhu Trang has been open for about 4 months I was told by our attentive server. This location is just west of Dale Mabry off of Waters Ave so be sure to be in the right lane when traveling on Waters Ave. I had a hankering for seafood udon($ 7) and my dining companion opted to try a noodle special Quang something(around $ 7.30), which was described as a «turmeric» noodle. We also split an avocado boba tea($ 3). The broth of my seafood udon was clean, clear and flavorful and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I liked the addition of the mound of bean sprouts that accompanied my bowl of noodles. There was a good amount of(cleaned) shrimp and calamari in the soup. The Quang was garnished with fresh mint, some cabbage, and various meat such as chicken and pork and was devoured by my dining partner. The avocado boba was also very tasty and had a lot of tapioca pearls included in it. The good came out quickly and was hot. My dining companion opted to take home an Bahn Mi(French bread from Publix I believe) which has not been consumed yet but at $ 3 it’s a great deal. All in all, Phở Nhu Trang is a solid choice for Vietnamese food and in my opinion, a great value. While you’re in the area be sure to check out the Vietnamese market next door :)

Delicious Viet food. Yummm. They have a variety of noodle soup dishes, appetizers, boba beverages and desserts. Lots of flavor! Freshness. Wow! I had an avocado boba and it was the best $ 3 I ever spent. The quaong noodle soup speical was very tasty. We also had a sumptuous seafood udon noodle soup that my dining partner ruined adding too much spicy sauce. But it was very good before being adulterated by the troublemaker. Friendly service. Not all the servers speak fluent English, but some do. Everyone was nice and accomodating. The Lien Hoa market is next door. If they have rambutan and mangosteen, please get me some. :)

Way better than Saigon deli and I am a Vietnamese. Here you get what you order. Great phở and sandwich. Even my 4 years old son loves the sandwich here. The phở and beefsoup is best. Can’t find any better Vietnamese restaurant in this area.

Short review as we only got to-go but their banh mi were delicious and definitely satisfied the craving. Meat wasn’t as flavorful as Saigon Deli but still a good choice on its own. I especially like their later hours. Jason had a craving so we also got their beef fried rice which was amazingly good for fried rice. Fried rice is the most basic of Asian dishes but this version was very light, perfectly stir fried, aromatic and seasoned. Also a very good portion for the price. It looked like they used the same sliced beef brisket that is in phở.

Stopped in twice over the weekend and I have to report that the the food was great! I can only write about what I sampled(fresh rolls, spring rolls, grilled sliced pork bahn mi, wonton soup, and the phở tai). Yes, I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, what a basic order, why can’t she be more adventurous? Well, I’ll tell you why. I love phở. Why not indulge in what you love to eat? Anyways, the fresh rolls were good. Were they the best fresh rolls? No, but can you name somewhere that has the«world’s best fresh rolls»? No, I didn’t think so. They were fresh and they were good. The wonton soup was delicious(see picture, it speaks for itself). Bahn mi was yummy(their pickled carrots and daikon are perfect). The sandwich is a bit smaller, compared to what you may be used to finding at a different Vietnamese restaurant, but it tasted great. The spring rolls. They weren’t my favorite, but I’m going to chalk it up to the fact that we arrived 30 minutes before they were closing, so perhaps they were not as fresh as they usually are. The phở was great(for $ 2.00 extra, you can get a larger portion). The were very generous with the meat portions and the top layers of meat came out rare and tender). My only hesitation with it was that there were a lot of noodles. Almost too many noodles. I took out a portion of the noodles so that I didn’t stuff myself with broth soaked noodles. Unilocalers rejoice! Another great thing about this place is the hours. Sometimes you want to eat phở in the evening and because a certain other well known phở joint down the street is not open, you aren’t left with much. But now you can eat phở to your heart’s content(up to 8:00 pm).

Phở Nhu Trang sound like follow the new trend. This is a good new restaurant to follow. Since I have been to Tampa, this location has went through many owners. You Saigon deli was once in this location. Now under the new owner. So if you looking for new restaurant, this may be the one. We have try their phở and stir fried. We have order the Banh Bun Hue. The spicy noodle. We feel that the noodle is average. Somethings is lack off like pig blood. We also order the fried calamari. This dish is a wow factor. The coating is is crispy but not over coated. The coating also have spice in it and enhance the flavor for taste. We saw our neighbor order the stir fried tofu. And it is look good. I would definitely recommend the stir fried items. For my next visit, I will try their stir fried menu. The service is good since the younger generation who serve us know the English well.

Tasty food, friendly hostess, but there’s room for improvement. I can eat Vietnamese food all day err-day, okay? So when I had the opportunity to introduce my sister to some scrumptious cultural food, I was happy to find this Hot New spot. The resturaunt itself is pretty small, with about 6 tables. We were seated immediately and offered drinks. My sister and I ordered spring rolls with pork and shrimp with wonton soup as a starter, and a pork dish(C6) as our our entrée. The wonton soup was bomb. VERY flavorful. The spring rolls were ok. My issue was with the entrée. My sister got hers first and waited politely for me to also get mine. The restaurant was NOT busy. I waited. And waited. About 15 minutes passed, and no one had come out. We ordered the SAME dish at the SAME time. Finally I looked over to the hostess and gave her a hint. Finally someone from the kitchen brought my dish. I dig in only to find that it’s COLD. Womp womp. Now both of us are eating cold food. The pork has a good flavor, but I’m sure it would’ve been tastier if it were hot. Some hints: you pay at the register when you’re finished. While up there, don’t eat the jackfruit candy — It left a horrible taste in my mouth for hours.

UPDATE: Since management reached out to me right away about the broth mix up I do feel this business deserves another visit and a star for service. I’ll update the review in its entirety when I try something else… It was just okay. I say this to say that the next time I feel like coming this way for phở and banh mi I may as well go to Saigon Deli and not cross Dale Mabry because it wasn’t to die for. I always get a specialty banh mi with grilled beef because I don’t eat pork. It wasn’t bad, but something about the meat was a turn off. Like the meat was cheap. The phở broth wasn’t clean. It was very oily as if no fat was removed. It had good flavor, but I didn’t like how my mouth was all greasy. My preference is a clean«healthier» tasting broth. My 2 cents. This may be like home for some, but not my cup of tea.

I love Vietnamese food! I wanted to check this place out as it had such good ratings. We ordered the grilled pork spring rolls and the shrimp spring rolls to start with. It was ok. I’m use to having more of an herb flavor in my spring rolls. These were just plain in flavor– vermicelli noodles, some lettuce and the meat. I ordered the bun bo hue, and asked the waitress what meat was inside she said sliced beef and pork. Typically, the traditional version has beef knuckles, tendon, congealed pig blood– you get the point. Anyways, I asked her about that, she said she didn’t know. They only have sliced beef and pork so I asked them to add in tendon. It was good but I have had better bun bo hue but I didn’t feel like driving to Pinellas Park. The hubby ordered a combination banh mi and was not at all impressed. He rather go to Saigon for a banh mi, next time. Overall, there are plenty of dishes on the menu– perhaps what we ordered aren’t their specialty? Overall, it was an alright experience– 3.5 star would be my preferred rating. On another note, be careful getting out of the parking lot, it can be a bit tricky.

Phở Nhu Trang is a Vietnamese restaurant which just opened today in the same plaza as Lien Hoa on Waters Ave. As it was opening day, they were very welcoming and eager to make sure I was happy. And I was! The menu had 10 pages of items but I already knew that I wanted to try their banh mi thit nuong. I just wanted something light because I already had a bite to eat an hour before. The cheap prices jumped off the menu(banh mi $ 3, bun/com dishes $ 6) Definitely looking forward to trying other things such as the banh xeo(Viet crêpe), which doesn’t always show up on menus at other Viet restos, especially around here. The banh mi was different and I appreciated their take on it although it wasn’t the best I’ve had. It was a little more traditional than how other places make it as it had pork liver pâté spread on the bottom as opposed to mayo(which I prefer). There was also some type of seasoning drizzled over the top but waitress wasn’t quite sure what this secret sauce consisted of. I don’t think it was soy. The baguette was really good — golden crispy outside, soft inside. The veggies were fresh. The pork had good flavor although there were a couple pieces of fat. UPDATE: banh mi is better now with new cook. I also ordered a ca phe sua da, which also had a unique flavor. Many Viet restos use Café du Monde and I do as well when I make it at home but here they use a brand they import from family in VN. It was very tasty. It had a chocolatey flavor which I enjoyed. They also give you iced jasmine tea for free(I assume the same brand as the jasmine tea used at Song Huong as the flavor is identical). I really like the flavor of that and it was necessary after I gulped down the coffee and needed the tea to wash down the pâté flavor in my banh mi. Plenty of seating inside and also had a variety of desserts and wrapped goods in their display case. Updated: the com thit nuong(rice with grilled pork) was very good. The pork was the best I’ve had. Great flavor, not fatty.
