The food is still excellent, but the service gets worse each time I go. Perhaps it’s cultural?

If you like authentic dining this is a very nice experience. The food is amazing, I would go often if I lived closer. The owner talked about the preparation of ingredients and proceeded to show us the kitchen, it’s small but they make the best of it. It was clean and organized, they have a unique oven which we watched the garlic bread cooked… they have great garlic bread btw. I can’t wait to try more. The meal was 5 star… I only give 4 stars simply because the restaurant could be updated. It was fine for a quick dine. But maybe not where ya go on formal night. Although if this establishment was based in a posh location it would be a big hit. It’s a joined by a deli which I probably should visit next go ’round. If you are in tampa /usf area, find this place!

The best part of this place is their Chiken Biryani which is tasty and low pricy compare to any Indian Restaurants around. Rana Kabab is a low key but exceptional little place. Don’t except anything fancy here. However it’s just a low key simple eatery. What makes Rana exceptional is the food. The menu is fluid but extensive. It’s true home cooked meals vs the bland, food colored variety found at most Indian restaurants. Great kebabs, Bihari kebabs and nihari. The food is fresh, probably helped by the fact that they own the butcher shop next door. The owner is ever caring and makes sure every one is well taken care off. Not sure of people complaining about the service. That has never been my experience. I have been to all the Indian restaurants in the Tampa area and by far this is place has the best food for the price. Yes I agree this place does not have the best décor and even the service is okay on busy days but the food makes up for it. So I totally recommend this place this is my to-go to place when I have not cooked at home or when have guests over.

I liked this place. They make simply delicious kebabs. Though I am not not a lamb fan but still ordered lamb seekh kebab upon some recommendations. Kebab was so mouth watering. I just loved it. Owner of this place is really friendly and sweet. I will visit this place again for sure :)

THANKSGIVINGATRANAHALALGRILLANDKABAAB: We were pleasantly surprised by wonderful food and customer service at this small Tampa restaurant. Right next door to Royal Food and Indian Grocery store. Very worth going to eat dinner or lunch.

This place is unassumingly tucked away in behind the sonic burger. Inside is simple, but the food is amazing. Everything’s made fresh and from scratch. We even got a tour of the kitchen, which was amazing. The owner is really nice and welcomed us warmly. If you are looking for something special that isn’t on the menu, just ask! My bf asked for a special bread, and he was told to call ahead to give his wife time to prep it. The chicken kabobs are crazy good and spicy! The green sauce is so tasty but is hot. You can’t stop eating it.

Absolutely AMAZING Pakistani Food. This is NOT indian food… it’s very similar but Pakistani style food. They are good and they are doing it right. Finally, someone is. If you are visiting and want to minimize the risk of having bad food while traveling, go here and you won’t regret it. The main reason I recommend this place if you are traveling is for 2 reasons. 1-It just taste good and they are not blending styles. It just Pakistani food. They is an authentic auntie in the back kitchen so POINTSFORTHAT… 2-The owner also owns the meat shop next door, so the meat is ALWAYS fresh cut. If you know desi food, you know that is a HUGE deal for taste. Plus, you minimize the risk of getting sick if you are visiting. The one bad thing/experience I will say about this place is that the«authentic auntie» in the back, she was really talking down to the waiter/staff member one of the times I was there. Treat your staff good and your staff will take care of you. Especially if that girl is the only waiter working. While I still give this place 5 stars, everyone has something they can improve on. :)

I do like this place for Pakistani food. The food here is fresh great flavor. The butter chicken or butter panner is amazing! They have great garlic naan. Also other great chicken selections. Owner is nice man he brings the food to you and takes your order like a mom and pop kind of shop with great food.

Hungry and willing to drive the distance, my husband and I entered with an appetite of lions on this sunny evening. We called in advance and ordered the food so that it would be ready when we arrived. A table was set for us and the food was brought to us promptly by the waiter. Now it looked like any Pakistani/indian food, although the biriyani looked bland from a mile away, it did smell ok. My husband and I ordered 1 biriyani, seekh kabab(comes with two kababs), chicken 65 and a naan. At first sight the food seemed average and bearable but the first bite set the tone for the entire meal. Bland, boring and absolutely atrocious was the food I was forced to pay 30 dollars for. Absolutely tasteless and disgusting. And with every bite it got worse. I come from a city where this type of restaurant wouldn’t last a mili second and am astonished that people actually go to this place and it has a 3.5 star rating. If I could go lower than a one, I would. The seekh kabab was rubbery, bland and literally had no flavor. All I could taste was cilantro and onions inside but the actual kabab seemed like it was marinated for 3 seconds than thrown inside the tandoor. The naan was hard and begging for some salt. The biriyani… Don’t even get me started. I had to pour the entire serving of raita on it to give it flavor. Absolutely gross. And the chicken 65 was just food coloring. I feel like the cook gets paid to do nothing because the recipe sucks. I could understand if one dish wasn’t as good as the other but every.single.freaking.dish. Restaurants have one job and its to make good food… It’s pathetic that in a city where there aren’t that many restaurant that the one that is available and open on a Monday evening, mind you it was completely empty, makes food that I wouldn’t even feed to a stray dog. Please don’t waste your hard earned money here. Go to mcdonalds or something, you’ll thank me later.

Never ever buy any meat here, especially goat meat. Tried a few months earlier and had to throw away whole meat after cooking as it smell bad and had equally bad taste. I might’ve picked the oldest pack. So i thought of giving another try and picked one ready made pack after enquiring the butcher. This one turned out exactly the same as before. A total waste of money and time. I think this stores sales a expired and months old of stock. Be aware and do yourself a favor by avoiding this place.

The food was really really good. Service was pleasant too. BUTTHEYCHARGEFORRICE!!! Never, in my 15+ years of eating at Indian, Afghan, and Pakistani restaurants, have I encountered a place where there’s a charge for the rice. Maybe there’s a charge for EXTRA rice, but everyplace I’ve ever been, from California to Maine, rural Pennsylvania, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Valdosta, GA for chrissake, and Ocala, INCLUDES rice with the entrees. Not here. You want some rice to put your curry over? You’re going to pay for it. I ordered Palak Paneer(creamy spinach with cheese cubes) and garlic naan… and rice, when my food showed up riceless. The naan was super buttery and garlicky and I loved it. I probably consumed an entire bulb(not clove) of garlic over lunch today. Palak paneer was really rich and nicely spiced. The precious rice had cumin seeds and perhaps bay leaves and some sort of bark-looking bits scattered through. The women’s restroom was out of order… the server told me when I said I was going to wash my hands. I said, «Ok…I’ll just use the men’s room.» She looked really nervous and said, «I don’t know if that one works either.» WHAT? There are signs everywhere stating that the tap water is unfit for human consumption and that you may not bring in outside food or drink. Now… I live about 6 miles away from this restaurant… is the tap water in the Busch Gardens/MOSI area THAT bad? Or is this owner money hungry and full of it? I hid my water bottle in my purse. Stick it to the man! My total for lunch was $ 14.42. I found this ridiculous because naan($ 2.49) and a veg entrée($ 8.99) should not come to almost $ 15 plus tip. BECAUSETHEYCHARGEFORTHERICE. Tables were very clean as was the floor but the décor is non-existent…other than the grammatically incorrect signs taped to the wall above EACH table stating that you can’t bring in outside drinks or food. I thought the palak paneer was WAY better here compared to India’s Grill Kennedy(in the gas station) but the ambiance and décor are better at India’s Grill. And you get rice at India’s Grill.

I have been to this restaurant a few times and their food is okay. Last two times I went here, the owner treated me like shit and that was it. I stopped going there. That guy Also, this place was shut down temporarily back in April 2014 due to rodent and roach infestation. Here is the article: I prefer Silver Spoon in Brandon to other Pakistani/Indian restaurants in the Tampa Bay area.

I must start of by saying the food tasted good, prices I would say are slightly higher for the portion size. My main complaint is the bathroom and how it smells bad and the toilet rocks while your seated, I notified owner twice and each time the response was the same. I will get it fixed tomorrow. The third time I came by, same story it hasn’t been fixed, he sees me and he walked away and makes no eye contact. I also think the water is an issue with selling bottles of water for a dollar one right after the other because obviously with spicy meals you would need water. Most restaurants offer tap water complimentary. Also the décor is very very minimal I think fast food restaurants have more Décor than this particular place, minimal money has been spent, including the table and chairs. We also had to ask for silverware. I told the server I was going to call the health department regarding the toilet situation.

I usually do not write reviews for restaurants, but the food and quality of service at this restaurant was so terrible, that I found it a duty to warn everyone else. We catered food from here for a party we were having. The desert we ordered was spoiled and we had to throw it away. It was very embarrassing for us in front of our guests. When we called the restaurant the next day, they hung up on me while I was still talking! When we entered for the first time, a pungent stench filled my families lungs. We took a look around to see no décor, wooden tables and chairs, and no one eating. We arrived at the time we were told, however upon arriving we were notified that our food was not ready. We had to wait an extra hour before the food was ready. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

They do not serve and recommend drinking their tap water. They want you to buy their bottled water. What a load of crap! I asked them what water do they use to cook and clean their dishes and they had no answer for me. Restaurant next door uses the same tap water and they have no issues. They even charge you for ordering green chillies on the side. Really? I’ve been to a lot of Indian/Pakistani restaurants and none have charged me for chillies. Owner is cheap and wants to nickle and dime you for every little things.

I hate to write bad reviews, especially for Desi establishments, but… I got 2 orders takeout from them and was very disappointed with both. First I ordered Tandoori Chicken. I was told it was ½ a chicken;it was really 2 tiny pieces, with a whole onion and tomato cut to fill out the container. What a rip off. Second time, I just wanted 2 Garlic Naans. It took 20 minutes! The girl behind the counter apologized, but it didn’t make me feel any better. good thing I didnt order any actual food. Naan was good and hot at least. While the food is just ok, it’s places like this that give Indian food a bad name. Honestly, you would be better off saving money for a trip to Devon street in Chicago or some other Desi food mecca than waste money here. 10 dollars at Khan BBQ is 100x worth it.

Pretty good overall, particularly for take-out. Lots of options, but ingredients not explained on menu. Had fried Kabab, chicken buranyi, naan, spinach/paneer, basmati and some beef samosas, with tangy sauces. All tasty and medium hotness as requested. Prices were a bit high, esp. for vegetable dish. Speed of prep was great as we tried to beat an incoming thunderstorm. Large but bland eating area, and pleasant service. The halal butcher shop is separated by a wall with pass-through window. When we visited, they had much more frozen meat than fresh. Specializing in goat and lamb with both frozen and fresh brains. Frozen fish was mainly freshwater, including Koi(!!! surely not the decorative pond type??!)
