Food is decent but pathetic service. Went there thrice hoping for a better service but was always disappointed. Mind it, when I say ‘service’ I am talking about basics. Average time for food to be served was around 30 min.

Good food, tired service! One of the few places where you get good authentic South Indian food(I am a South Indian) in Tampa, but the place is terribly understaffed and it takes ages to be attended to.

Really pathetic service .to begin with had to ask for water thrice and then they had time to serve it(they just had only 2 tables with customers).we ordered dosa, idly and a mini Thali. they said they just made idly’s but were as hard as stone(any person would know they are from the microwave), thali with a paneer curry was served with Lemon rice(menu said pulao).food on the whole was not worth being served .the servers were way too busy in their own world to even bother asking .BIGNOOO.

Awesome south Indian food and delicious varieties. After going there for couple of times, we ended up ordering curries for our daily usage and get them every ten days! :) Keep it up guys… You people make me feel back home with your delicious cuisine.

North Indian veg thali must try. All other things are not worth the wait for service. The service is very slow. But I am ready to wait for the North Indian veg thali. Thali has so much variety for anybodies palate.

I am from New Hampshire .I have been to to this restaurant during a long-weekend trip to Tampa .they serve perfect South Indian dishes. I especially came here as one of my friend suggested me this place. The ambience was cool, the service was better than what I have experienced in other Indian Restaurants. Cheers!

I’m wondering if the poor reviews mistook this place for the spot down the street of the same name. Not only is the menu varied and has a great diverse(vegetarian) selection, we were in and out with prompt, attentive service. The food came out quickly, piping hot and delicious. The price was a little high, but two vegetarians to eat to their hearts content with enough left over for another meal for under $ 40 is a great deal in my book. Will return here again.

This is one of the worst Indian good establishments. I’ve never seen a hostess as rude and unhelpful ever. And I travel nationwide and eat out always. This is a Pathetic Indian restaurant. Sadly people have no choice so they will flock here. Taste wise it’s ok but very overpriced too. From seating to order to leaving. Total time 107 minutes. Almost two hours for lunch for a group of 3. Unacceptable.

This place is amazing. I’ve never been to India, and I’m certainly no expert when it comes to Indian cuisine, but I know what tastes good. This place is beyond good. Also, we’re usually the only white people here, so that’s a ringing endorsement. People who know much more than I do about Indian food eat here. You should too! The first two times, we didn’t know what to order, so we got the Thali platters. That’s fun because you get a bunch of different dishes. This time, we braved the unfamiliar menu and ordered channa palak masala(chick peas with spinach curry gravy) and paneer butter masala(paneer cheese with tomato butter gravy). And my God. It was amazing. I think this is the sort of restaurant where you can pretty much order anything and it’s delicious.

I love Jai Ho Pure Veg. I had been missing a good vegetarian Indian restaurant. They have a great selection of northern and southern Indian dishes as well as interesting Indian-Chinese dishes. Their lunch thali is amazing. You can eat till you pop!

DONOTGO!!! This place looks good but SERVICE sucks. They take good 30 minutes to bring 1 dish and the waitress gives you attitude see my experience for today They don’t have all items from MENU they don’t even bring u water until u ask… Then I ordered 1 dosa and salt lassi They got me Lassi after I ate so it’s like 45 minutes. Then ordered 1 idly took 15−−20 minutes and every one walking to counter to pay the bills so I walked to waitress said cancel my order it’s so late see her reply Waitress“We don’t make frozen food each order take 15 minutes« Myself:“it’s more than 20 minutes and I need to go cancel it» Waitress’s“I have ticket inside it has time“ Myself:” please bring out let’s check time on it I got lassi after I ate my dosa“ Waitress’s“I am not playing around here« Myself:“ok u need to be customer satisfaction call ur manager» Waitress:” another guy from kitchen comes out standing next to her she started speaking in Spanish with him“ Myself :” don’t be rude talk to me in English not in Spanish«this pissed me off more« I said now its to much I am not going again and ask people not go and get bad service which you are paying for it!!! My son loved his idli and peanut chutney. My dh had the dakshin delight and was very happy. My South Indian thali was huge, loved the sides of eggplant and okra. The sambhar and rasam(the soupy sides) need more flavor. Thali as they provide is an on table buffet and I ended up asking for more rice to go with the sides. The owner was very attentive and answered all our questions. Loved the steel plates and glasses — will pick some up for myself next time I visit India.

Good food, but service is horrible. It takes forever for food to be served, they don’t take orders for 10 minutes or more, no refills unless asked for.

A nice looking place with decent food. However, they need to work on service. While friendly, they do manage to mess up the orders quite often. Their north and south Indian thalis are really good, but some of the curries do not taste fresh. 3⁄5 stars for good food — 1 for inconsistent service — 1 for food not always being fresh

This place is brand new. Last time I went, had a bad service. It took 45 mins to serve simple order for 2. Hoping that the service will improve, I went went with my friends this time. Very bad service. It takes more than 1hr to serve party of 4. My friends walked out without having anything because they were very hungry and wanted to grab something in another restaurant before they close. Food taste is just fine, but very expensive. Had better Indian food for less price in Tampa. I hope they improve on their service and reduce thr price.

I’ve been to Jai Ho Pure Veg a few times since they opened last month, and I have to say I’m a fan. I gave it 4 stars out of 5 because I fear that once I post this review, there won’t be enough space to sit once the word gets out about this little jewel of a vegetarian restaurant near USF. The inside is very bright and cheery, and the tables are very friendly to big guys(like me), as much of the seating is half-booth half-table. It is very clean and a lot of consideration was put into the cutlery, plates, cups, and place settings to make it feel like a comfortable classy establishment. Service was very friendly and attentive, and while we had a small wait for food when it was busy, all of the food is freshly prepared; this certainly makes up for any time spent waiting for the quality of food that this kitchen serves. So, be a little patient, and order a few snacks while you wait for the main event — it’s worth it. Like the name implies, it is a vegetarian restaurant that is lacto-friendly, just like me. There are many dishes you can have vegan, but obviously ask for no dairy if that is how you roll. A majority of the dishes are South Indian, but some of your normal North Indian /Standard«Indian Restaurant» fare is there as well — like Peas & Cheese(Mattar Paneer) and Aloo Gobi(Potato & Cauliflower). The delightful addition that you won’t find in many Indian restaurants is the fantastic Indian inspired Chinese Food. More about that below, but your standard Chinese cuisine just doesn’t do it for me any more! First — appetizers. We had many Chaat dishes as well as appetizers, with some notable standouts being Samosa Chole Chaat(Samosas literally smothered in a flavorful and well spiced chickpea sauce, then covered with chutney and yogurt), Chole Bhatura(Chickpea curry again, this time served with golden fried puffy wheat bread), Samosa, Chilli and Onion Chilli Pakora(for the spicy food lover — a must!), and Masala Vada(a lentil fritter that one meat eating friend said tasted like chicken nuggets). Dosa — if you’ve never had a dosa, imagine a giant crêpe. This one is made from rice batter, and filled(or not filled) with some stellar ingredients. My favorite is the Mysore Masala Dosa — a crêpe filled with potato masala, richly spiced and seasoned potatoes, and just a touch of red-hot spicy chutney. On the side there’s some great chutneys — peanut, coconut, and tomato — to help cool things down or spice things up. Other notable dosas are the Masala Dosa(if you don’t like it so spicy), and the Palak Paneer Dosa — filled with spinach and cheese. Other main courses that are exceptional are the North and South Indian Thalis — both a little different — and if you’re with others, try to get one of each to sample the different flavors. Potato dishes, such as Potato and Kidney Beans(Aloo Rajma), Aloo Korma(creamy potato curry), and Aloo Palak(thick rich spinach and potato) were all delicious. Navaratna Korma was creamy and rich, with a hint of heat, and the Paneer Butter Masala was filled with rich creamy tomato goodness. Now onto one of the stars — the Chinese food. At the other Jai Ho, they have a special appetizer called Chicken 65. They replace chicken with Mushrooms or Cauliflower in the Pure Veg establishment, and it is exceptional. My favorite is the Gobi(Cauliflower) 65, fried and then tossed in this amazing chili/garlic/ginger sauce. If you’re a mushroom fan, you will NOT be disappointed in the Mushroom 65. Other amazing Chinese dishes are the Szechwan Fried Rice, and Chili Paneer & Gobi(Dry). All the meat eaters I’ve brought here have loved this place, and you won’t even miss the meat. Give it a try!
