We were cruising out of Tampa and arrived early. While waiting for others in our party to arrive, I stumbled into Qachbal’s while walking into the channel side square(which has hooters, wet willies and oishi sushi). They made home-made wraps and breakfast sandwiches to order. They finish the sandwich in a panini press so it comes to you piping hot. They are small and they only have one press so don’t try to go with a big group. They have coffee’s and cappuccinos and lattes but I only had coffee which was good. I was tempted to get the gorgeous chocolates that lined the shelves but I resisted. Also, they had home made bannabread and muffins that looked good but I didn’t try them either. When we came back into port we had time to kill so we left luggage in cruise terminal 2(right across from the aquarium and they will store your luggage for free if you buy a ticket or $ 8 without ticket). The trolley to ybor doesn’t start till 11:00 so we enjoyed another fine morning of a bagel, egg, cheese, bacon sandwich and a wrap that had cheese, hash browns and choice of meat. Piping hot and melt in your mouth goodness.

My favorite thing about Channelside!!! Staff provides quick friendly service. I LOVE the banana bread pudding. I also am pleased one of them remembers this. Our family hasn’t had a bad thing yet nor do we expect too. Don’t forget to make your mouth excited by visiting.

Great chocolate, wonderful cookies. Well worth the stop. The mall that it is in could use some colorful paint in the long hall to make it look more inviting.

Love the chocolates & sweets selection. Don’t rate the chai latte though… it tasted like sugary water

This chocolatier is the best! It is a quaint shop nestled in the roadside corridor of the Channelside Plaza. They are locally, family owned & they are great, friendly people. They have a small open kitchen in the store & make everything from scratch daily right before your eyes. Every confection they make is simply delicious! But my absolute favorite is the TOODLE. Either the milk chocolate or the dark chocolate TOODLES, you can’t go wrong. If you think you don’t like dark chocolate, try the dark chocolate TOODLE! Not bitter at all, sweet & delectable with perfectly buttery & creamy caramel & a hint of saltiness from the pecans, to die for! I promise you will never buy another prepackaged box of the processed stuff from a retail store again. And don’t buy just one or two, I made that mistake the first time I tried them. You need to get at least a dozen because they are addictive & you will not want to share unless you have plenty of backup :). I’ve even packed & shipped a dozen up north to my mom a few times & they held up perfectly through shipping. If you’re ever downtown or at Channelside, please support this wonderful family business by stopping in at Qachbal’s for a yummy, chocolaty treat! I’ve even driven a good distance to get there solely for a visit to Qachbal’s, it’s worth it!

I came to Channelside for souvenir shopping when I was in Tampa. My coworker and I got kind of hungry during our quest for souvenir’s, and we ended up here per the recommendation of our Lyft driver. I was so amazed by the selection. All of the chocolates looked amazing, but I immediately saw the milk chocolate reese’s pieces covered pretzels, and I was sold. I ate the pretzel on our walk to find more souvenir stores, and it was delicious! The combination of flavors was spot on, despite a lot of the pieces falling off of the chocolate. If you have a sweet tooth, go here!

Love this place! My boys and are visit weekly! Everything is freshly made and super delish. The macarons are amazing, so are the cannoli’s(being from NY I was super happy to discover the cannoli’s !). Everyone should stop by this hidden treasure !

Nice location in channel side. Small store but I love that it’s family owned. We tried the cake pops and a cannoli. They were good, slightly overpriced. The cannoli was $ 2.75(not that bad). I would probably go again after wet willies slurpy bar close by ;)

I passed by Qachbal’s Chocolatier a couple times before but never tried it. They have a lot of chocolate truffles, cakes and smoothies. I ordered crème brulee truffle, maple truffle, and white chocolate truffle. Everything was good. I still prefer the Godiva truffles but if you are looking for a chocolate gift other than Godiva, this place would be a good option.

Actually would rate it higher except their prices are out of sight. WAYOVERPRICED. chocolates were great. We had at least 10 different types/flavor and loved them all until we remembered the price. About 10 chocolates and 2 – 3 candies for $ 33 and that was with 10% off via Unilocal! This chocolate was good but not THAT good!

I’ve been obsessed with cupcakes since before they were the in thing(and still am now that they are less cool) so I make it a point to try new cupcakes whenever possible. I have to say the vanilla on vanilla was one the best I’ve ever had. It’s clear the use real vanilla bean from the dark flecks in the cake. The vanilla frosting was near perfect, I didn’t leave a lock behind like most places. The edible gold on top was just beautiful. If it weren’t a plane ride away, I would be there constantly for the cupcakes alone. Also had a strawberry smoothie which was pretty basic.

Chocolate! Who doesn’t love chocolate? I have been to this store on several occasions and I try to get something different every time. I love the truffles, they are slightly bigger than average, soft and very rich. I tried the dark chocolate covered pretzel and was disappointed the pretzel is very thick and you can’t really taste the chocolate. I encounter a similar situation with the almond bar… too many almonds little chocolate. I have not tried any of the cakes or pastries but they do look delicious. Overall this is a great place if you have a sweet tooth and like to experiment with delicious treats.

I love little shops like these! Prepackage chocolate in baggies are a great way to be able to try all you want for $ 1 each. It’s totally worth it. The display of chocolate seriously draws you in and all the different types can surprise you. From cayenne, chocolate jello rings, chai truffles and so on. One of the most memorable and favorite memory I have from this place was being able to see the staff make their own goods. I was able to watch banana bread being put into a little kitchen oven right behind the counter and a wonderful delicious pumpkin pie latte being made in front of me. Not the biggest chocolate store but it’s one that’s struggling to survive! VISIT and eat away :) Also don’t be afraid to try new flavors because I’m in love with their chocolate covered gummy bears!

Delicious! There are so many good treats here it was hard to choose which one to try! We decided to try the Chocolate Éclair Cake. Apparently, this was a new ‘let’s see how this turns out’ cake that they had made, and boy was it worth it! It had a thin layer of chocolate cake on the bottom, delicious creamy éclair filling in the middle layered with white cake(I think) and then on top was a fantastically smooth and creamy milk chocolate. I’m not a cake fan but I’d go back for that cake everyday, if I could! For $ 4, it was a nice treat!

Friendly staff, with a nice selection of chocolates. Used the Unilocal check-in deal(which the clerk was unaware they still had) to bring down the cost by 10%. Would recommend going here if you’re looking for high-end confections.

I am a huge fan of Godiva stores. To me they represent the pinnacle of candydom. So to find myself recommending another chocolatier is truly amazing. Qachbal’s however has earned my sweet tooth. Located in the semi abandoned Channelside sure doesn’t help. But if you’re into chocolates and other candy you owe it to yourself to pay them a visit. The selection is simply breathtaking. Check out some of the pictures I posted to see for yourself. And the quality of their products are top notch. This is not your garden variety CVS or Walgreens candy. This gives Godiva a good run for their money. The staff is helpful and friendly. It’s a shame I can’t visit them as often as I can. Actually, let me rephrase. I visit them evey time I’m in Channelside which is very often, but I don’t buy anything. It’s just my way of torturing myself while I stick to my diet. But once in a while I indulge. And this is surely chocolate heaven. I’m a fan!

This may be a chocolate shop, but they have the most amazing cupcakes I have ever had. I tried them at an event at the Florida Aquarium recently and couldn’t believe how fantastic they were. I’m a vanilla convert after these. They are as beautiful as they are delicious! Perfect for an event or celebration. They might even replace my birthday favorite of the basic Publix cake with buttercream icing! When I called to place an order the gentleman on the line was very friendly and helpful and the ladies in the shop when I went in to pick them up were wonderful as well. I highly recommend Qachbal’s!

Qachbal’s is a great chocolate lover’s find! I am lucky enough to walk there so I justify picking the most decadent desserts to try as I can«walk» it off. Qachbal’s also has a large selection of confections and candy as well! The large truffles dipped in white chocolate and decorated are my favorite! We have also tried an assortment box that we chose ourselves of the smaller truffles, the hot pepper(with the orange jelly belly on top) I think was the most creative in our assorted pieces. We have also tried the loose candy(sold by weight) and that tasted very fresh. I haven’t had an opportunity to try their flavored drinks or fudge but I have noticed many people ordering these items. My only complaint(and honestly it won’t keep me away) is the service. Every single time we have been in there; the people who work there seem MISERABLE! There appears to be no pride in their work or in what their products are, or when you ask questions you get a blank stare or death stare. I would recommend to the owner that they work with their staff, start with smiling, like I said this won’t keep me away, but I live in the neighborhood. If I was visiting and observed the staff and their attitude I may think twice about buying the delicious chocolates and confections waiting inside!
