Best Gyros an awesome Feta fries. For $ 7.99 you can get the combo. Large Gyro, fries, and 12 oz. coke. But do bring a sweater, no inside sitting only outdoors and this time of year is cold out. highly recommend it.

My coworker recommended this place to me after I sarcastically said it looks like somewhere a person could get food poisoning. I was wrong and I have eaten there twice since he suggested it. The first time I went there, some sunset beach locals were walking in the door and their boy was skipping along singing, «I love gyros». From the mouth of babes… I had the gyro salad which was delicious. It had plenty of feta, a spring mix of lettuce, 2 dolomehs, kabob meat and a light fluffy pita. I was skeptical of this place because it is in a funky building next to a psychic and the outside gives no impression of what is actually inside. I thought the interior was clean and the staff were friendly, although they were characters. It is family run which is nice. Of the other take away restaurants in Sunset, Harry’s, Secret Spot, etc, this is my current favorite.

Food here is adequate. Pretty tasty and a reasonable price. Only 3 stars because parking is difficult here as the restaurant is located right off PCH, and the wait was way too long!!! We ordered some fries and and 2 gyros and stood out front waiting for 20 mins. The boy who took our order wasnt super friendly either. He didn’t say a word, just stared at us and wrote down our order then said the total. I’d go here again if I was in the area but definitely wouldnt go out of my way. My friends disagree. They come here specifically for the loaded fries(fries with feta, etc) and the gyro burrito. Interesting twist on the gyro, i tend to just keep it simple though.

I’ve been here several times for lunch. The gyros are large and pretty good. At first I got the traditional gyro pita combo, but was recommended the chicken gyro by friends. Now I’m hooked on the chicken. It’s sliced off just like the normal gyro meat, and it’s just so tender and juicy and the flavor is great. I’m usually a sucker for fries and theirs are pretty good, but I also tried the side salad instead this last time. It was a big but delicious salad with really good dressing. The Unilocal check-in offer is a great deal — free upgrade to a combo(whenever I remember to use it). We’ve always been on beautiful sunny days and sat out at the tables next to/in the parking lot. Wish there was a nicer patio to enjoy the food and good weather, but it still works great as-is. We talked with the owner last time. We had seen her working hard previously and she turned out to be super nice. Hoping the soda fountain addition goes well.

When I feel like indulging in some Mediterranean food, I always crave this little seaside shop’s Gyro sandwich. The pita bread is soft, fluffy and warm. Gyro is piled on plentifully, moist and deliciously flavored with Mediterranean spices. It comes with a side of Tzazaki sauce for dipping, which is thick, cool and refreshing balance to the warmth and flavor of the meat. I’ve also tried the falafel sandwich. The falafel was well-seasoned and just the right texture, crisp on the outside and soft in the center. Protein to carbohydrate ratio for both the gyro and falafel sandwiches is perfect. The baklava shake is also a delight, you can see and taste the baklava pieces with every sip, though its not as thick as I usually like my shakes.

I didn’t hear about this place until it was featured in one of the more recent Weekly Unilocal newsletters and I am soooo glad it was mentioned in it! Located on PCH, a little past the entrance to Sunset Beach, this hidden gem has an awesome location if you want to enjoy a nice and sunny day. It’s a TINY shop(like there’s only room for you to stand and get your order taken) and there’s practically no parking, but I still love it. They have a small patio in the front where you can eat and just hang out on a breezy afternoon. I ordered the famous gyro and I added the salad and drink as well. I really thought I’d only get like a small salad. Dood, I was so wrong! They basically gave me a huge, Greek salad. The gyro itself is hugeeeee(albeit, a bit greasy), but so, so good. The salad was delicious as well! Loved the dressing it came with. Service was really good. There was two guys working — one cooking and one taking the orders — both really nice. I really wish the fryer wasn’t broken because I really wanted to try out the feta fries, but I guess I’ll have to try it the next time I’m there and you can be sure, there will be a next time.

This place is great for my local gyro fix! It’s not too expensive, but the food is Amazing! I usually just get the Gyro Beef-Lamb sandwich, and it’s very filling. Both times I’ve been their, the two same guys were there to help me and were very pleasant. Also. People kept raving on and on about the date shake, so I had to get one and try it. I gotta say, it’s damn good. soooo tasty. Something that you’ll have to experience if you haven’t tried one yet!

They have great gyros, but personally i like their Chicken Souvlaki Special with greek salad. The Souvlaki is awesome, and the salad is phenom… all fresh, quality ingredients and large portions. Also their new dish, not yet on menu but soon to be… is the Gyro meat street tacos. Sooooo goood, problem is that now it is always a tough call on what to get. Bottom line… lucky to have this locally owned/managed, high quality, fresh ingredients establishment in my backyard here in Sunset!

I didn’t know what to expect of this place. It’s a VERY beachy, kind of hole in the wall type of place. The staff were a couple of young teens, friendly, and served me some TASTY grilled chicken Gyro. The place definitely has personality. The food was great, the pita was THICK, the chicken was seasoned wonderfully and it was very MOIST and tender. I felt the gyro was lacking a BIT in tzatziki, then I looked in the bag and saw a whole little container in there. *smh* it was cool and creamy with sweet cucumber flavor and tanginess of the yogurt. Pairs SO well with the saltiness and well seasoned grilled gyro. I was also pleased they had spicy yellow chile peppers, which the nice staff person kept reminding me they were free. LOL. I would definitely go again, I went on my way to school and it was FAST and made right there. Can’t go wrong with fast, fresh and fantastic. :)

I found out about this place through a cousin, who subsequently found out about this place through one of those coupon/ads book. So just a heads up those do indeed work! Have been going to this place steadily ever since whenever i crave a good gyro or a falafel for that matter. Anyways to the review! This is place is very«hole in the wall». Inside is enough standing room to order, and outside there are probably 3 tables? Do not make a horrible mistake and let this deter you from a hidden gem, cause that is basically what it is. A hidden gem. The food is very very good. Gyro: It is huge, the meat is juicy, the slices a good thickness, the sauce that it comes with top notch. Falafel: Samesies, the Falafel can be dryish sometimes, but its ok because they give you more sauce on the side. Fries: I tend to gag at feta and bleu cheese, but with the other stuff they add in not only do I not gag, but I can’t have enough. Shake: Oddly enough I haven’t had a date shake, but the last time I went I believe I might have had a baklava shake. It tasted exactly what it sounded like like a baklava in shake form! SOSOSOGOOD: D If you ever want to try to this place do it! You won’t regret it. P. S. The people there are super nice too :)

Stuffy Puffy Pitas Gyro Kabob is hidden in a little nook on PCH in Sunset Beach. It’s quite a popular filling post with the locals. Situated next to a tattoo parlor & massage shop, this tiny plaza can reel in a good amount of fans. Limited parking out front is a downer but beach & resident parking can be found walking distance away. I was very excited to finally stop by to give this place a try. I parked out back and took my little toes out for a spin to grab some long awaited lunch with a colleague. My dear friend has actually been here before even though she’s from La Harbra(news of good food sure does travel). Upon walking into the cramped gyro joint, it really felt like a good ‘ol hole in the wall type of place where foods their language and décor is nonexistent. From the laminated menus taped on the deli case to the posters of Gyro Kabob specials, this place definitely hits the spot! Highlights & Low-lights: *The only seating you’ll find to chow down on is outside *No the most attractive place but boy can they make a mean-stuffed to the brim gyro! *Tzatziki sauce is thick & yummy *They serve up a delicious date shake that I sampled(real sweet) *The gyro combo is a great deal under 10 bucks that’s served with a drink &HUGE greek salad I’ve been back several times within the past two weeks. What can I say, I get hooked so easily sometimes! I really recommend this place if your wandering the area in search of some grub. Love this place!

My friend just got a pad near the neighborhood and we walked here to have lunch. The gyro is pretty good. Lots of meat and decently priced. I wasn’t that impressed with the feta fries. Just fries with some feta cheese on top. Also, the date shake is super sweet. A little too rich for my taste. If I’m around the neighborhood, I will check out the other sandwiches on their menu. The restaurant is a hole in wall place and friendly staff. I like their generous portion with the meat on their sandwich. Very tiny place. It’s not great for group but great for take out!

As soon as we walked in the door to this place, the staff was so friendly. Had a great laidback beach city vibe. I ordered the chicken gyro and it was overflowing with meat. The flat bread was soft and tasty too. Zucchini fries were okay. Too much breading for my taste. The feta fries were heaven on Earth. OMG, so good! I’m rarely in Sunset Beach but I’d go just to eat here again. I wanted to order the Baklava because it looked delish(but I’m on a diet right now… boo). They also have a Baklava shake… wowzers!

They make a tasty gyro! Their prices are a tad bit high(2 gyros, feta fries, and a shake will cost nearly $ 20), but it’s incredibly filling. The gyro is a huge wrap brimming with a doner mix of lamb and beef. Liberally utilize the sauce supplied on the side. If you’re ordering some sides, two people can probably share one gyro. The feta fries are okay. I don’t think the feta really added much to it. If you want to experience feta fries done right, try the street cart fries at Spitz in the Little Tokyo area of downtown Los Angeles. Opt for the baklava shake if you’re feeling shake-like. They blend a piece of baklava into a vanilla shake, and the result is out of this world. The date shake is okay, though you’ll have to chew on date skins while drinking. They also have a reduced price menu for smaller portioned items, like hot dogs, other wraps, small fries, etc. Oh, they didn’t give us the Unilocal 10% discount when we mentioned Unilocal. But that’s all right. Remember to bring your own water. Also, although there aren’t restrooms at the restaurant, there are plenty on the street behind the store approaching Sunset Beach.

Yumm! This place is conveniently located across from Sunset Kayak Rentals, to which they also deliver with a minimum order. The food is good and affordable. I ordered«The Gyro» and it was packed with meat! Awesome! It was actually randomly dropping out as I tried to compact my pita bread into an acceptable size for my mouth. Totally filling! The staff is also friendly and the establishment is family owned.

YOUGUESSEDIT! Sunday’s lunch and dinner. Thomas Jefferson and I decided to hang low about 2 weeks ago we just watched movies and enjoyed the cool breeze of the OC. We ordered the gyro with extra, feta and Tzatziki sauce and also the Feta fries this was the most delicious juicy, succulent gyro I have had in a while! Every time we go there it is busy with a steady flow of people but they don’t take long to get your order! =} Respectfully Reviewed

Feta cheese fries 5 stars Date Milkshake 2 stars Gyros 4 stars Service 3 stars Small little store near Huntington Beach, CA. After we finished our tour of Huntington State Beach and Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, we were starving! Seems like everytime we go to the beach, we go greek! It just seemed like the thing to do. We had our nifty Unilocal and couldn’t help not coming here after reading the reviews. Feta Fries: AMAZING!!! They pile on a good amount of cheese for sure on top of their crispy fries. There’s also some greek seasoning that goes along with it… the slight hint of deliciousness. It’s salty SALTYSALTY but oh so good. Date Milkshake: $ 3.50? You know, they have baklava milkshake too? But I figured since their specialty was date, I would go for that. This is just EHHH. it’s something I can make. Just throw in Vanilla ice cream with a few pieces of dates. The dates in the shake were SOOOO little. It wasn’t until I reached the bottom was when I could even taste the sprinkles of date. It was way too much ice cream… overrode the whole purpose of the drink. Gyros: $ 5 Really, nothing awesome about it except they give a good amount of meat(lamb and beef slices). It came with yogurt too. I have to say that I was expecting awesomeness or more zest with the sauce. It’s above average but not spectacular. Service: Okay, this was alright except that they don’t give out water here? What’s with restaurant and no free tap water? They claimed that they didn’t have ice or water in their shack. How is that possible? I had ask the wife who works in the back for water and she directed me to the husband(cashier) who tried to sell me bottled water! What the heck. Not a fan of people who try to rip us off, esp since they know that the feta fries were super salty. What’s good was that they were really friendly and helpful when we first went in the store. They had a different sign so I was a bit confused if we had went to the right shop. The husband made recommendations about what’s popular amongst consumers and later helped my beau bring out food. What’s pretty cool is that they seem to know their customers by first name. Looks like there’s a whole bunch of regulars coming into this joint. Also note, you sit outside! The shop is tiny with 3 – 4 outdoor tables. So don’t come when there’s poor weather… that…or you can bring it home. It was actually pretty nice to sit outside since it was sunny and windy at the same time. There’s this weird alley that connects through to the shop so try to sit away from that area or there will be some strange people walking by you as you eat.

Got the gyro sandwich an a side of fallafel. My standards of fallafel are really high as I compare everything to the Jewish fallafel place on austin st under the LIRR in Forest Hills, NY. Impeccable. The gyro was solid. Everything it’s supposed to be and nothing it’s not. The fallafel was fine. The flavor was a bit off but t least it was freshly fried. Prices are fair, seating is limited but outside so great to enjoy the weather.
