My visit here was really«meh» type of experience. I had gyro plate combo with Mediterranean french fries, gyro, hummus and pita bread. My husband had ¼ chicken, steamed veggies & baked potato. Mediterranean french fries — I really wished that I had taken a picture of this. When it first appeared on my table, it looked AMAZING! I was so excited but then my excitement waned pretty quickly. I think what they do is they fry their french fries pretty crispy, and separately they heat up olive oil with tons of minced garlic with lightly chopped parsley and they drizzle that over the fries and top it with shredded cheese & feta cheese. My suggestion to the kitchen staff would be to ensure that shredded cheese is sprinkled while the fries are still hot so that they at least partially melt. Mine did not melt at all. Feta doesn’t need to be melted but I think it would have been better to not be eating chunks of shredded cheese. I loved the side of white dip — whatever it was, I’d give a my thumb up :) Gyro — Even though this place was supposed to be Mediterranean, I could taste that there’s not much care that went into selecting quality food and having good cooking method. They were all dry and didn’t have much flavor. Good thing I had hummus and Tzatziki sauce to keep it a little moist in my mouth. Also the stripes were cut too long(or I think more accurately, they were NOT cut) so that made it a little bit more difficult to eat. Hummus — it was okay. The texture of the hummus was more coarse than I prefer but I appreciated the little parsley bits that added nice touch to the overall flavor. Pita bread — nothing special… I think I could have gotten the same one from Trader Joe’s across the street… Chicken — my husband said that they were the driest chicken ever! and they are called«chicken» dijon?! Well, needless to say, I have given it a shot and I’m ready to try another restaurant. I honestly debated whether to give 2 stars or 3 stars but I’ll give 3 b/c it’s not that they were bad — just nothing impressive. I could have made better food in my own kitchen. hahaha…

After the online order for delivery fiasco, I still decided to give this place another try. In all honesty, I think it’s their online order for delivery service that just needs MAJOR work. On the rare occasion when I eat in, half the time the service is on point, other times it’s just eh. I usually just try to order for pick up and send the boyfriend to get in. But anyways, the gyros in this place is DELICIOUS and that’s really one of the few reasons why I gave them another chance.(Btw, I did get a message about making up for my terrible service that I experienced but I was so busy I never got to talk to them about it. But it’s okay, Chicken Dijon, I forgive you now!) Anyways, the gyros and the Mediterranean fries are ALWAYS consistently delicious. I’ve tried going to other places to get my gyro fix, but I keep coming back here. I don’t know what they do to it, but it is SOGOOD. The seasoning, the way it’s cooked, the amount they put in the gyro sandwiches, I just can’t tear myself away. The garlicky delciousness of the Mediterranean fries leads me and my boyfriend to fight over food. And he never fights over food with me, never. All in all, I’m glad to have given Chicken Dijon another chance. Their quality of food makes up for their on and off service. I hope to see you soon delicious gyros.

My review is simply an email exchange I had with Joey Nimeh, who responded to my email regarding my concerns about the quality of food I purchased at this restaurant. RE: Serious LAck of Quality in your food at the Long Beach Location. I just ordered and picked up 6 meals with extra sides at your Long Beach location. I spent $ 71.12 including tip. The food was almost too bad to eat. The chicken portions were tiny and way overcooked. It was chewy to the point that some of the chicken couldn’t even be eaten. The side of baba ganoush was stringy and watery(see attached picture) the hummus and garlic sauce both tasted powdery. When I called the restaurant to speak to the manager, I was told that the manager was unavailable. When I asked when the manager would be available, I was told that she would be available Monday between 11:00am and 4:00pm(I was calling Saturday night.) When I asked who was in charge, I was told there was no one in charge. When I told the young woman(Cynthia) about our food, she said I would need to call back Monday. She was polite but unhelpful. I am very dissapointed with my experience at your restaurant, specifically because I was willing to pay more money to get higher quality food. BELOWISJOEYNIMEH’S RESPONSE: I apologize for the way you feel, but we use high quality ingredients and have done so for 20 years. Many peapole love our food. We do not use powder to make our garlic sauce or our hummus. However I am going to Long Beach on Monday and I will look into your concerns. Our chicken portions have been the same for 20 years. Once again I do apologize for the way you feel but I am confident in our quality. Best regards, Joe N

Their family dinners have become a regular go-to for me, especially the chicken, baba ganoush, hummus, and pita. It is quite a feast. I recently had the delicious gyro plate and realized I should try more of their menu. I alway get the food to go, on my way home. There is plenty of parking if you park closer to Ralphs. Service is friendly and competent. I really like the idea of a satisfying and healthy meal enjoyed in the comfort of my home, without any effort.

The first Chicken Dijon I’ve been to was the one in Redondo Beach on Artesia. It’s been a while since I’ve been to one. I recently went for the Group on deal for $ 12.50 for $ 25 worth of food. This CD is located in Marina Pacifica. I decided on the CD House Salad, which is romaine lettuce, rice, chicken and croutons with a ceasar style dressing. My friend ordered the Chinese chicken salad. And we also ordered the chicken vegetable soup. The chicken vegetable soup was filled with big pieces of chicken, rice, carrots, celery and onions. The broth was on the salty side and seemed to have too much cumin for my taste. Both salads were big and filling. The dressing on the house salad was light in taste but wasn’t very flavorful. I had a bite of my friend’s Chinese chicken salad and like it better than the house salad. Both salads came with pita bread and garlic dipping sauce. Both salads were definitely satisfying. This location has a few tables in front of the restaurant to dine outside. Parking is plentiful in the Marina Pacifica parking lot.

I have been going to chicken dijon for over 2 years now at other locations, but its my first at the long beach location. They have great great service here! I had to change my order(my fault) shortly after paying, and they happily accommodated it! Great food! — chicken has a really crispy skin, and hummus is chunkier and less oily than other places which is a «like». :)

Came here with a friend on a Groupon special. We got the quarter chicken/gyro combination plate. The chicken wasn’t all that spectacular, relatively dry. The gyro meat was tolerable actually, which was the one bright point. The ‘Mediterranean fries’ which were supposed to be infused with garlic and could’ve had way more flavor simply by adding seasoning salt were actually not that flavorful! The pita bread was not very warm and the garlic sauce was not memorable. +1 star because with the Groupon special, it was essentially half price which made the deal tolerable.

I had a Groupon for Chicken DIjon and had high hopes as I love healthy Mediterranean cuisine. I unfortunately left disappointed and have to say I won’t be returning. The steamed vegetables were cold and undercooked. The gyro meat was too tough. The fattoush salad was edible and fresh, but was laking that umph in spices & flavor. The best part of the meal was the iced tea, of which you could select from 4 flavors. The raspberry and peach were both delicious. Needless to say, you shouldn’t go out for dinner and have the iced tea be the highlight of the meal. Chicken Dijon — time to step your game up!

Quarter Chicken with Rice & Feta Fries; that’s what I ordered, and that’s what I got. The chicken was not amazing, nor was the rice, nor were the fries. I was actually expecting something special to happen with the fries — like some weird physiological/out of body/indescribable emotion — BUT, that didn’t happen. I do blame the garlic sauce. The garlic sauce was lacking in garlic. I was disappointed from the first taste and it plateaued from there, a plateau that did not come from a climax is just flat ground = 3 stars.

I frequent this place a lot… So here goes my first ever 4 star review! PLACE Plenty of space. Spacious. One function entrance door. FOOD DONOTGETANYTHINGCHICKEN. It’s curious why their chain is called Chicken Dijon when their chicken is disgusting and dry. BUTDOORDER the Mediterranean fries(garlic fries basically) and the GYRO sandwich. That’s all I ever come back for. Add some lemons to those fries and ask for the garlic dip for the fires as well! Delish! PRICES Meh. Decent. SERVICE This girl used to work there knew me and boyfriend well(because we’d always show up close to closing), but it seems they have changed management because their whole staff is gone! We didn’t mind the new guys, they gave us an extra garlic dip without charge. OVERALL Not bad for a chained Mediterranean joint. Will be back for those fries!

You know what… not a fan! M. and I watched the 70th anniversay screening of Casablanca at the AMC, so we wanted something other than salt/sugar laden theater«food». This place was next door and seemed like a good choice. Oops. Mabye not. Three folks in line ahead of us; wouldn’t been so bad but the idiot in front of us took forever to order. Was it a family of four or a huge takeout order? No… just one lone jackass that probably had at least five minutes to persue the non-extensive menu and decide on something. We get up and literally takes less than a minute, probably 40 seconds including get change dispensed and a receipt. So we wait at an empty table and I notice the interesting architecure; what’s the deal with the 25′ ceiling? Don’t know what the square footage of the place was, but I hope they didn’t lease by the square foot. We get our order, which was interesting… the gal came to our table, put down the bag and said«I called your number» before heading back to the register. Ah, that’s a negative. Either you have the vocal chords of a mouse or you might want to invest in a P.A. system(like Taco Bell). We each had a wrap/sandwich; it was OK, albeit messy but the garlic sauce was decent… I’ve had much better falaffel elsewhere. Just poor service and an overall wierd vibe.

I find myself enjoying a nice(I should say plentiful) salad consisted of the greens, some rice, chicken, and some creamy sauce. Forgot to mention pita bread with some spread on the side. Could be a light meal without the rice but combine gives you that non guilt fullness. Dijon chicken is fast, inexpensive and healthy! My FYI list to you: –DC house Salad is a must try. –their version of a Asian chicken salad is not bad either! But I would rather not have tangerines in my salad. Ewh. — their Mediterranean French Fries are good but greasy. Eat them right away and you’ll enjoy it but eat the an hour later you’ll find your fries soggy and cheese frozen! — polite customer service which is important to me! — delivers over 15 or 25 bucks. I forget.

I’d just seen the name«Chicken Dijon» somewhere else as I passed by one recently, then I end up going to this one last night. The roommate, the roomies friend and I all had salads. Per the roomies friend’s suggestion, I tried the CD house salad. It’s a chicken Caesar salad tossed with rice. Hmm, odd… but it works I guess. It was pretty good and a H U G E portion! I ended up taking half of it home(and then forgot to bring it for lunch today, Doh!) Don’t know that I’ll order it again because when I have a salad, I don’t want all the extra carbs from all that rice. I think I’ll have to go back and try one of their other dishes another time. The only real problem is: location. With the AMC theaters, Barnes & Nobel and others there, the parking can really SUCK, depending on the day and time… so we’ll see how quick I am to return.

Came here tonight, with a friend. I got the ¼ chicken with 2 sides. For the sides, I got the fries, and the the salad. I honestly, did not know that this place would come with so much food. I didn’t even finish all my food, while the friend basically finished everything. Then again, he was really hungry, and I barely eat anything as it is. :C But this place is pretty good. The friend said that their chicken was dry, and that he felt like this place was better before. I’ve never tried this place before, but I will give it 4 stars, because my chicken was pretty good. And the fries were good as well. The also included some pita bread, which was good as well.

A group of us, about 15 or so mixed kids & adults swarmed this location after a Movie Playdate. Their workers handled it quite well & didn’t miss a beat. There is a small eating area outside that nicely accommodated the kids which is a relief because I don’t think an inside eating location would’ve been able to handle the energy & noise the kids had. The food is quite delicious. For my family of 4, I ordered the Family Deal which consisted of two whole chickens &4 sides(which for us only included Rice Pilaf & French Fries). The flavors are just right so that the kids are not repelled by it… which is often a problem for me since I have picky companions. The drinks are refillable which is helpful. There was enough food to make us full…& have leftovers which I conveniently took home in a to-go container. The service was great. We were loud & noisy & they remained friendly with us & even asked at least once if we needed anything else. I really have nothing to complain about. I thank them for helping to make a group gathering run smoothly.

My dad was at a meeting, and I was waiting for him when I felt my stomach growl. that’s when I knew it was LUNCHTIME! Wandering around marina pacifica. I realized that this was pretty much the only fast food place(no time for acapulco). so the decision was made. Chicken Dijon it was. I ordered the CD Special Pita wrap which was surprisingly amazing! The pita was soft, and the chicken tasted fresh. moist and not dry :) They also gave me a side of tsiki(sp?) sauce and that was very flavorful as well. I wished I had ordered another side of pita bread to dip it in. Tempted to order the baklava. but decided against it. in hopes of looking good for summer. Next time I’m in the area. I’m coming back!

In the mood for something new. Something other than burgers or Mexican food, I turn to my trusty Unilocal bookmarks. The closest place that fit the category was a little joint named«Chicken Dijon». Walking in I noticed that the place is spacious and clean. And greeted with a kind smile making me feel at home. The menu is simple and easy to read. Everything looks so good. So I go with their specialty. Rotisserie chicken. The meal came out with a quickness. Approximately 5 minutes. Wow! That was fast. They bring the plate to my table and the presentation looked so picture worthy, I couldn’t help myself. I had to take the picture. Finally, biting into the chicken I was amazed again. The skin was nice and crispy and the meat was so tender and juicy. I have fallen for a roasted chicken. No more fried joints for me. This is now my go to spot for an alternative to the norm.

**Oops, originally posted this under the Irvine Branch. I actually went to the one in Long Beach. They have more than one? Uh oh… The first time I came here was a couple months ago. I ordered the ¼ chicken DARK with a baked potato and hummus. Sometime between the time I ordered and the time the food was brought out, my chicken got melanoma and turned into WHITE meat. I’m glad the pimply teenage boy behind the counter doesn’t discriminate based on color, but the chances of white meat being dry is exponentially higher than dark meat. I was going to complain and asked for a switch, but he looked like he had enough problems in his life so I decided to give him a break and give the chicken breast a try. Anyhow, so much for being open-minded because the chicken tasted like it was on its way to becoming jerky. However, since it wasn’t even what I ordered, I’ll disregard it for this review. I came again and ordered the exact same thing. I got my drum and thigh like I was supposed to so that’s a good start. It was okay, and no better. It was the dark meat equivalent of the white meat I got last time, taking into consideration the difference in fat content and muscle type. All that to say it could have been a lot more moist. I like the choice of sides they have like rice pilaf, stuffed grape leaves, steamed veggies etc. For 7 bucks a meal, it feels to me like one of those healthy nicer fast-food options, like Daphne’s or Boston Market. However, although its heart is in the right place, it really failed to deliver. Twice is enough. In Socal, the land of seemingly endless options, you never have to settle for mediocre.
