One of my favs! I live next to Olive Pit and have been there tons of times. I’m never disappointment. Great food, great service, and quick. The rocka salad and gyro is my favorite!

I wasn’t expecting much about this place but I really had a great experience the food was just perfect. I got a wrap with steak and some basmati rice. Definitely coming back again

Not good for vegetarians. Most Mediterranean restaurants have menu choices so that a whole family could eat together even if they don’t eat the same. However the Olive Pit is misleading. Our first waitress was thoughtful enough to tell me that the rice has chicken stock or something like that. A second waitress took our order and I ordered vegetarian dolmads from the menu. When they came they looked different than usual dolmads, I asked if they use the same rice, they do! It is written on the menu that they have veg dolmads, but they use the non veg rice. The 2nd waitress did not think to tell us and looked annoyed, thinking that if you can’t see the meat its OK I suppose! I suggested that they take the word ‘vegetarian’ off the menu for describing the dolmads. There are other Mediterean restaurants that have beautiful and varied vegetarian plates, we will not go to the Olive Pit again.

This place has excellent Mediterranean food. So far I’ve tried the salmon, lamb and seared tuna with grilled vegetables, and all were very good. Their ingredients taste very fresh, the meat is tender and juicy(never overcooked), meals come out fast, you get good portion sizes, they have great prices for what you’re getting, and they have a lot of variety. It’s hard to find any other place that could compete. Now I know why they’re so busy all the time! The restaurant has a lot of tables available, but it gets very loud and busy during lunch time. The food is sit-down-restaurant quality with an In-n-Out type of line. The line moves fast, but it’s hard to relax in that kind of environment. I usually get it to go. I would definitely recommend The Olive Pit by a large margin over other local places like Daphne’s, Athens West, or George’s Greek for example.

Just moved to Huntington Beach and this is now my go too spot. Loved the steak kabobs and roasted potatoes. Our family enjoyed our experience. Will come back again for sure. The prices are a little high but you get what you pay for and it was great.

Very good Mediterranean food. Entrée plates are good, salads are good, steaks are good, fries are good, even pizzas are good… It is quite cheap too, perfect lunch break place.

Good: The«small bite» is actually a good portion for a side. The steak is good and they will grill it more if you want it not too pink in the middle. They are willing to substitute hummus into the wrap for the sauce and feta if you can’t have dairy. Bad: Cook was too busy trying to flirt and oogle the cashier to get my order right, so had to have it remade. Inconvenient and awkward but not the end of the world.

Our family met at Olive Pit for a Mother’s Day lunch. I was in the mood for something light so I ordered up a Mediterranean Salad. Our meals were served up in short time and everything looked delicious. My father requested oil and vinegar and the server seemed a bit annoyed at having to create a side of this for him. I was thinking it couldn’t be that unusual of a request. The Mediterranean salad was fresh and the dressing was good. It seemed a bit flimsy on the olives. The portions were decent with everthing being served up in big bowls. It wasn’t the best salad I’ve ever had and it wasn’t the worst. Eh…3.5 stars maybe…

The food is delicious but overpriced for what you get. Also, the owner is a total hard ass and rude to his employees. If you come on a bad night, you might hear him yelling at his staff. Yikes! Also, I think this place is more of a phone in your order, take your food home to go rather than sit inside. The restaurant is pretty small, seats are close together, the service is horrible, and it’s just not a nice dining experience. I’m still giving this place 5 stars, but $ 13 for 1 chicken kabob with 3 pieces of chicken, side of artichoke hearts(counted 5 pieces) and rice is steep, no matter how delicious it is.

My guy and I stopped by here since we were craving something light, relatively healthy, but delicious at the same time. What better option to fulfill our needs than Mediterranean food?! I wasn’t disappointed with this restaurant that I found I had bookmarked awhile back. The prices for the plates were about $ 13-$ 14, so it’s a tad bit pricier than most places. The restaurant was a nice sit-down place, so I can see why. It’s not your regular to-go or fast food Mediterranean joints. The ambiance was pretty nice and service was very friendly. I ordered the lamb kabob plate and was very happy with it! I had Mediterranean salad and roasted artichokes for my sides. They’re about $ 13.75 for dinner plates. The lamb was super juicy and delicious, would recommend! The portions are fairly large, so it’ll fill you up. My guy got the flat iron steak plate with tzatziki sauce and fries for the sides. The fries were super yummy and the tzatziki is a dip that we used to dip the pita bread in. Everything we had was really good.

First time trying out this place. We got the 2 beef kabob dinner plate $ 18 and the lamb gyro dinner plate $ 14. Both were pretty good. The beef was soft and tender and the lamb gyro was flavorful. The dinner plate came with 2 sides each. We ordered the hummus, melitzaosalta, Caesar salad & rice. I don’t like the taste of the hummus from this place but my son does. The Caesar salad was very fresh but I just did not like dressing that came with it. Service: friendly and helpful. Parking: small parking lot

Recommended to me by a friend, they kept going on and on about how good the food was. Well, I am a believer now because I agree. I came in with them a late Friday evening and there were people still eating dinner, which was informed to me that they’re usually packed. Parking: located in a plaza where there is parking all around, but in terms of parking in front of the little plaza storefront, not a lot. When you walk in: a hostess will greet you and seat you. It has indoor and outdoor seating so you can advise them which one you prefer. Additionally, it has an area deep inside where you can order food to go(like a fast food restaurant almost). We ended up ordering the entire rotisserie chicken, side of caesar salad & hummus with pita bread, as well as a Margarita Flatbread. The Rotisserie chicken was excellent! The white meat was moist and not dry at all and the skin was nice and crispy! The hummus with pita bread was soft and the hummus was also flavorful. The Margarita flatbread wasn’t something I particularly found great(I’m not a fan of tomatoes), but it was polished off by my friends who said they enjoyed it. During the entire time, our drinks were constantly being refilled and the server gave our table good attention from when we walked in to when we paid our bill to leave. Overall, a good recommendation to try good Mediterean food!

I’m surprised that I haven’t updated my review because I’ve returned to the Olive Pit numerous times since my first review. They now offer wonderful delicious dishes with great service. I just picked up some dinner for hubby and I last night and when I phoned in my order the guy(i.e. I forgot his name) was so professional and very friendly. My take out order was: (1) Spaghetti with Homemade Turkey Meatballs I typically order the salad with salmon or their chicken kebobs with two sides. But I previously saw the spaghetti delivered to another table when I was there and it looked delicious… and you know what? It was very delicious. All I saw was two HUGE meatballs sitting on top of the spaghetti and marinara sauce. The turkey meatballs were very moist and were a pleasure to my palate. The marinara sauce was very light and fresh. I was so eager to start eating that I forgot to take a picture, lol I would certainly order this dish again. (2) Vegetable and Bean Soup A bowl of garden veggies and white beans soup spiced up with a basil garlic purée. OMG, this has to be one of the BEST soups I’ve ever had. That basil garlic purée makes the soup amazing. Every slurp I took, I kept saying to hubby OMG, this is fantastic, over and over again. All of the veggies and white beans with the tomato based soup with that wicked basil garlic purée was so delicious. This is a MUST order!!! So my apologies for not updating my review sooner. My previous patronage to the Olive Pit in HB have been a pleasure … which earns 5 Stars!!!

Always get the Mediterranean salad, flat iron steak or salmon on the side. Great food for the price, tasty, but service can be a bit slow — hence taking away one star. Great go-to place for Greek food! Been coming here for years! Enjoy! Update: Feb 12, 2016 Had their lamb chops… So very good with a nice subtle flavor, tender… Would and will definitely order again!

I’m a first timer to this location. I was thrilled to come across it. I convinced my hubs to dine in and I promises him he wouldn’t be disappointed and we weren’t. We left the restaurant with our tummies very full and happy. Each dish was authentic and the flavors were just perfect. Why I gave it 4 stars, we waited a bit just to order our beverages and we waited again before they took our order. It was busy but not that busy to get ignored or overlooked. Also, they need more locations: p

Randomly saw this place on Unilocal when I was in the area. The photos looked really good so I was excited to try it. The place is modern and spacious. Theres plenty of inside and outside seating. If you want to order to go just walk towards the back and there’s a counter with menu boards. Lots of menu items to choose from and everything sounds really tasty. I had the roasted half chicken with basmati rice and Mediterranean salad. The portions are huge! Enough for two meals easily. The chicken was flavorful and moist. The rice was seasoned just right and fluffy. The Mediterranean salad comes with a balsamic vinaigrette. The price is right considering how big the portions are. The pita comes with this garlic dip, also delicious! The guy at the take out counter was very friendly.

I could totally see myself becoming a regular here! We came here after a friend highly recommended this place to us. We came in last night and I was a bit overwhelmed by the menu. Plenty of options to choose from and so many different ways to eat it — wraps, salads or entrees. We decided it would be best to divide and conquer on this. We ordered the eggplant dip, falafel wrap, lamb kebab plate and sides of roasted mushrooms, roasted artichoke hearts, fries and the rocka salad. I have to say the portions are quite large and totally was not expecting so much for the price tag. Hands down my favorite items were the lamb kebabs, rocka salad and the falafel wraps. Everything was perfectly seasoned, you didn’t feel like there was a ton of salt in any of the food — which is generally what I experience with falafels and roasted meat specifically. I did like the eggplant dip, it had a smokey flavor which I enjoyed, but just a fair warming if that doesn’t suit your taste buds. The ambiance was really well put together. The offer a large outdoor patio area. The service was friendly and fast. I definitely enjoyed our experience here and we will certainly be back again for more soon!

Olive Pit has so many items on the menu that I absolutely love! For starters, the Fried Zucchini is out of this world amazing and the dipping sauce is incredible! It’s garlicky and lemony so I like to use it as a dipping sauce for the meat dishes too! For my entrée I usually get the Lamb Chops or Lamb Gyros! With the Lamb Chop plate, you get 4 Chops, 2 sides and pita bread. The chops are tender & grilled perfectly. For sides, I’ve tried the following: Greek Salad, Hummus, Olivada(hummus consistency, but made with olives), Roasted Potatoes, Artichoke Hearts – these are all good, I recommend any of them! Olive Pit is in my top-3 for Lamb Gyros when it comes to quality and flavor. The slices are thick and the meat is seasoned to perfection! I’ve also had the Roasted Chicken, which I’ve enjoyed as well. They took an interesting twist on a popular Mediterranean dessert: Baklava. They mash up warmed Baklava and mix it up with vanilla bean ice cream! Wash it down with a cup of coffee and your taste buds will love you!

My new hobbies in life is collecting coupons and using it for my Unilocal review! Boy was I excited when I got 10 percent off for this restaurant. This place is in the corner of the far end of the plaza. I didn’t know what to expect about this restaurant. The dinner menu consists of plates ranging from 13 to 18 dollars! The prices differ from lunch to dinner by a few dollars. It’s an interesting menu like allowing a protein option to a variety of small dishes. Its a bit pricey… but i guess i am paying for the quality and cleaniness ! My friend and I got the lamb skewers with a side of hummus and rocka salad. The lamb skewers were too dry and charcoal for me! The hummus was perfect, who can really go wrong with hummus. The rocka salad was good but I wish they lessened the dressing. Overall I give that plate 4 star. The Baklava ice cream was delicious and super huge!!! You need like three girls to finish it… especially eating main entrée.
