Mediterranean food is my absolute favorite! And right to the point, I love their desserts also, and because they had none, I had to minus one star(otherwise they would have gotten all 5)! Great spot out in Sunrise. It’s in a strip mall so could be hard to spot. It’s a smaller venue but the food is delicious! My coworkers got some salads and they were huge. I ordered the shawarma platter, sooooo good! And I also ordered the grape leaves, which were also pretty good, although not the best I’ve had. This is a great spot for lunch, and can’t wait to return.

Greatest Falafel and Shwarma place in South Florida by a mile. Anytime anyone visits from Israel I take them here, they think they are eating the food from home. When I bring visitors the staff always gives them a sample, makes them feel very welcome. Everyone speaks English, Hebrew, and Spanish. I can’t say enough about the shwarma, its delectable. The humus isn’t store bought like many places, they make their own and its AMAZING. Friendliest staff, you really feel like you’re in Israel. Very clean, fast service, great prices. The staff goes above and beyond to please their costumers. You get invited back for holiday celebrations, very family oriented restaurant. Can’t say enough good things about this establishment, every restaurant should be run this way.

I have been eating here for years. The food is excellent, tasty and fresh. I particularly like the shawarma on lafa bread but the chicken, falafel and kabob are all good. They have a free salad bar with pickled vegetables, and everything is fresh. The only bad thing is the shawarma sells so well. They are usually out of it by the end of the day. You just need to make sure you go early if that’s what you want.

My favorite falafel/shawarma place in south Florida. I’ve been here with my family more times than I can count and they never disappoint! They’re clean, kosher, kid-friendly, and no matter what you order, you can’t go wrong. Enjoy!

I went in thinking«Greek pitas», I didn’t realize at first it wasn’t Greek. I’m open to trying new foods; I actually strive to try as many new things as possible. So I went with it. My boyfriend being the picky eater he is, was surprisingly up for the challenge. We both ordered the schwarma and accepted each topping to our pita. We also ordered a side of falafel(I’m a huge fan). The flavors were bold. I enjoyed the combination of veggies, hummus, seasoned meat, and the endless flavors! It was a fun little experience. They’re quick, friendly, and the place always seems to be hopping. We’ve been back and will continue to go back.

Very good Israeli food, place ain’t cheap but deff worth it. They spoil every person coming thru the door and pile food and salads on your plate or sandwich. They do delivery which is a major plus… Bottom line good Israeli food outside Israel

Not bad at all. Tasty food. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here, but if I was in the area I would stop by again.

New Years Day Lunch… we decided to try somewhere close. We found this restaurant less than a mile away, Although we passed it twice trying to find it! Upon entering its quite simple and plain. Thats okay most places we less ambiance make up for it in the food. This is one of those places. The server behind the counter was helpful when asked questions He explained Hummus Mesbacha… chickpeas surrounded by hummus with parsley. I ordered some as well as 3 falafels to try, and a Turkey Shawarma Pita, I love that there are several selections for toppings… I had Tzatziki, hummus, eggplant, lettuce, onions, cucumbers, red cabbage. Oh my goodness delicious! The soft warm fluffy pita completed the ensemble! The Hummus Mesbacha was the creamiest best tasting hummus, hands down! Definitely a good place for lunch in Sunrise.

Food wasn’t bad but I had better food and service. I was turned off by the amount of flies that were buzzing around my food. They seriously need to clean up the place, that’s disgusting.

My first experience here was for a fundraiser, I honestly thought in the past when I walked by that I would not be welcomed, that I would not fit in. I saw a lot of Orthodox Jewish customers and a HUGE sign saying nothing else allowed on the property being a Kosher kitchen, etc. so with my limited experience with Kosher food at the time, I didn’t think I was missing anything. WOW. I was wrong on all counts. The food was amazing. The service was wonderful and extremely welcoming. I felt like I was being welcomed in someone’s house. They were so kind and accommodating. The guys behind the line, the lady at the register, nothing short of wonderful. Fast forward a few years, and I have been here a few times. Each time was nothing short of amazing. I am not familiar with mediterranean food, so I normally pick the meat I want and tell the guys to surprise me with the toppings, sauces, etc. Every single time it’s been so full of flavor and a huge portion size. I would eat this kind of Kosher food forever!!! I can’t say enough great things about both the service and the food. On my last visit I went on Christmas Day for lunch, thanks for that Facebook post giving the holiday hours! When I went I did not want my kids to eat too much because dinner was a few hours away. The guy saw that two kids were sharing one meal, and he added extra fries so they had more food! How sweet of him! Let’s be honest– Mom ate the fries… :) Check this place out. You won’t regret it! I love the Chicken Shish-kabob baguette and of course the schwarma! The kids chicken tenders and fries are REAL! Not that frozen garbage you get everywhere else! I see a new Christmas tradition, but we won’t wait that long to re-visit. See you there! Shalom!

This is probably my fifth time at Sunrise Pita, and I knew it was time to write my review. Simply put, their food is really good. On this late lunch visit, I was finally able to try the shawarma. It’s been sold out every other time, and I can see why. Sunrise Pita makes excellent shawarma. Whether you order the shawarma(or other dishes) on pita, baguette or as a platter, you can select which of the various salads and condiments you’d like with your meal. On the recommendation of the friendly employee helping me, I added hummus, tahini, taziki, roasted eggplant, and Israeli salad to my pita this time. Well seasoned and roasted meat with this combination of fresh add-ins was fantastic! My mouth starts to water thinking about it now so I can write this review. On previous visits, I’ve had the chicken shishkabob, hummus platter and the various fresh salads they have. Frankly, it’s all great and keeps me coming back. Sunrise Pita is located in an older shopping center in need of some sprucing up, but don’t let that deter you. Parking is awkward, but plentiful. On this visit, the staff was friendly, efficient and really helpful both to me and the patrons in front of me in line. On other visits, they’ve hardly acknowledge my presence and were downright rude. They still made a great chicken pita though.

We came here for lunch during a visit to the area with an active falafel craving. My boyfriend has worked in falafel shops before and has high expectations. He always enjoys falafel, but is not satisfied by many. WELOVEDTHISPLACE! As we perused the menu, it became clear that the weekday lunch crowd was filled with regulars — a great sign. We requested additions/substitutions to our pita, which were no problem at all, and the staff were friendly, yet quick. The«locals» experience, quick service and delicious food were exactly what we were seeking. We will be back when we’re in the area again.

My colleague and I swung by for a kosher meal on a Wednesday post 7pm, and this spot was definitely still bustling with families and couples having a good meal. The shawarma, we were told, was out, but they were busy making more lamb with the same spices — just not warming on a spit, of course. Still, the pseudo-shawarma(well, it certainly wasn’t fake!) was very delicious and moist. I guess it’s likely we didn’t know what we were missing, but it really did the trick. The sides were all also fresh, and they did not skimp on portions. Since we were out of towners, they also gave us some baklava, which was a nice, sweet(literally!) touch. It was a nice way to end the meal. They have single beer bottles to drink(no great brands, though) available as well as Israeli juices in cans. It was definitely a solid meal!

Shawarma is pretty simple food. Seasoned meat roasting on a very hot, vertical rotating spit. When you think about it, just about every culture has a dish like it. Greeks have gyros, Brazillians have the gaucho style BBQ, and Mexicans have Al Pastor etc. And when food becomes simple, making it great is all about the nuances of the preparation, which take years to master. I discovered shawarma on the streets and in the bus stations of Israel, and instantly fell in love with it. In Israel, you can smell it from blocks away, and the aroma literally lures you toward it. Once there, you’re easily entranced by the mountain of meat slowly rotating past the brightly glowing heat elements of the spit. As it turns the aroma intensifies, and you can hear the meat sizzling and popping as it develops an incredibly well caramelized crust(the best past of shawarma!) just before being shaved into a pita, a laffa, or a plate. Sunrise Pita is the place I visit when I want to recreate that memory here in the US. It’s run by Israelis and has a lot of Israeli clientele, so you know you’re in the right place! I always order the shawarma plate, which comes with Turkish salad, Israeli salad, an amazing grilled eggplant salad, hummus, pita, and of course, shawarma! They offer a small and a large size of this dish, small is ideal for individual and the large includes enough meat to feed 3 people. As if that wasn’t good enough, to go along with the shawarma, they give you unlimited access to an epic selection of pickled veggies! I love the purple pickles turnips and the honey garlic carrots. The carrots are like crack and I can eat them by the boatload! The shop is small and the service moves fast, just like in Israel, but don’t be intimidated. This place is all about making the guest happy, and giving you a little taste of Israel.

I came here for lunch with one of my friends and I had a great meal! As soon as we walked in we were greeted immediately and told that we will be helped in one second. We told the guy that it was our first time and he proceeded to give us suggestions and even let us try the chicken/lamb shawarma. It was delicious! So I decided to go with the shawarma pita and my friend got the chicken pita. The guy also suggested we get the falafel appetizer to start with. We then had a seat while he began preparing the sandwiches. He quickly delivered our falafel right to our table as well as a plate with all the options of things to add to our sandwich. It included hummus, tahini, eggplant and onion and tomato sauce. I am sure they dont uaually do that but he was being particularly nice to us. When the sandwiches were finished cooking he called us over to add the sauces and sides. I added the hummus, tahini, eggplant, salad, and a little hot pepper. It ended up tasting delicious! However, the sandwich couldnt be kept together while I ate. Its ok though even with a fork and knife it was delicious. I also got a mango soda from their fridge and it was a great drink to help the food go down, loved it! Ill be back for more soon! I need to try their baklava!

Oh my goodness. I couldn’t have expected how great this place would be. Their service is strange — not bad, but strange. I can’t knock it for being different though. You come in, order everything, and then sit down, like Chipotle kind of, but minus the paying part. They had us pay afterwards. Which was fine, just different. And confusing. We were being boring and just got shawarma and hummus. We didn’t realize that you got the onions, etc. on your own until we watched others, but we didn’t really care, our meat and hummus was delicious enough on our own and we were devouring that. The hummus was perfect — the perfect texture, the perfect flavor, and served just right. They give you a ton too, we weren’t able to finish it all, which meant my husband took it home and ate it with pretzels. Shawarma was amazing — tasty, perfectly seasoned, and delicious all wrapped up in the pita with hummus or on it’s own. Worth making your way out here for the best shawarma I’ve ever had. A great place — and we’ll be back for that hummus! YUM!

This is an awesome place for vegetarians !! The Hummus was super fresh… Falafel were crunchy and tasty. The salad bar is complimentary. The Baklawah was awesome. Very reasonable price. Loved it all the way. My only suggestion… They should bring in some kind of hot sauce.

If God made Mediterranean food this is how it would taste like. If that analogy doesn’t work for you then let’s try this — If Heaven had a party this is what they would serve as food. To use the word ‘Delicious’ to describe their food would be an understatement. If you remotely like Mediterranean food then their food will change your mind and make you fall in love with it. If that’s not enough, the guys who make the food are one of the kindest people that i’ve come across in Florida. Definitely try the Babaganoush!
