Pros good steak plenty of flavor Friendly customer service Cons Cold vegetables, to the point where I thought they were supposed to come that way, but others were lukewarm, almost as if they been nuked for a minute taken out and served. The broccoli on the vegetables were brown, just not good The mashed potatoes were flat and had an instant mash taste, the gravy was all I can say is weird. Will I be back maybe if I want a good steak and nothing else but I don’t see myself coming back to pay $ 18 for something I can make better at home, and hot

I read through the reviews, and people seem to think they’re going to Morton’s. As you know, Longhorn Steakhouse is a chain, and you can liken it to a diner like feel, so keep your expectations clear. Breakfast here is bomb. I come in for poached eggs and hashbrown, and it comes out the way I like it with a little brown on the edges. Reasonable prices with a diverse menu. We pick up steak sandwiches from here with my co-workers at Apple from time to time, and it’s always been consistently good. Also, since it’s a steak sandwich, you don’t expect a perfectly cooked steak inside your sandwich. Yes, it’s a thinner slice, but that doesn’t detract from it tasting good. I like the fresh salad bar where you can add whatever you want to it. Banana peppers for the win. It’s sad you don’t see places like this around anymore with all the gentrification in the Bay Area. Highlights: steak sandwich and breakfast

Reasonable price on food here. I like the old western feel in there. They have a flat screen tv on with sports. A bar next door if you wanna turn up!

Less than 1. Snarky hostess didn’t seem concerned when I showed her my half glass, of ice tea-didn’t pay for half glass paid for full. Spouse went up about 40 minutes later and asked if they would be refilling Ice tea… she was very rude We won’t be making more tea, we are leaving at 9 pm. Veggies we’re gross and gravy for potatoes was coagulated and cold.

This place has been around for decades. The steak may not be prime, but they must beat it to death, because the steak sandwich is awesome. Big, and all the fixin’s. I am normally a snob about ribeye steaks – only prime, not choice. But this place wins on flavor alone. Not too cheap for a diner, but won’t break the wallet either.

I have driven by many times over years and had not stopped until late one night after a stressful day and was craving a steak. I wished I’d just kept driving. Maybe the meal would have tasted good during a drunken stupor after a visit next door, but the poor attitude of the lady behind the counter could not be overlooked no matter how much one had to drink. I ordered the ribeye steak dinner — pleased it came with soup or salad. The salad consisted of old head lettuce(brown on the edges) with dressing glopped over it — nothing else. I asked if I could use the hamburger condiments in what looks like it used to be a salad bar to dress it up and found some tomatoes and stale croutons. I was too tired and hungry to mind at this point. Then I got the call that my steak was done. It came with a baked potato, which had what looked to be butter and sour cream on it already. I asked for chives and was told that they cost extra. I stated that she must be joking and she said she was not. I stated something about having paid $ 24.00 for the dinner and thought that chives should come with and walked away. My steak was rare on one side and over done on the other. The rarer side, which is what I requested was okay, not great. The other side was over done and tasted like soap. Also, I have never had a ribeye steak cut so thinly — about ½ inch thick. The vegetables were a horror. Between the cauliflower, carrots, squash, and broccoli, only the cauliflower was edible. Sadly there was only one tiny piece of it. The broccoli and carrots were under done, and the squash plain mush. Granted I am a bit of a food snob, but these were the basics — I did not expect gourmand fair, but still for $ 24.00 I could have done much better at Outback or some other chain and have gotten as many chives, and wow, maybe even some bacon bits, as I wanted, and without the«tude».

This place has been here for over 50 years. I know, because I actually came in 50 years ago. But this review is about how it is today. Their ordinary hamburger is called a «steerburger», but don’t order it by that name, because they’ll hear«cheeseburger». I didn’t want a cheeseburger, but that’s what I got; but they re-made it from scratch without any grumbling. It was a nice basic properly-cooked slab o’ meat on a toasted bun, and it came without any toppings whatever. Those are all on a big counter, so you can load up with whatever you want without having to hope that they get it right and put the wrong things on(except for the cheese).

Okay service and friendly employees. A little overpriced but convenient for students from Fremont High School across the street. Food is a B– Steak, burgers, salads, etc. they have pretty much everything. Tables and chairs are clean and ready for more customers. Besides that, 3 stars.

To call Longhorns a steakhouse is very misleading. Stick with hamburgers. I came for lunch with two childhood friends. We used to LOVE Longhorns! Now it is a dingy and dated looking place. The lady behind the counter clearly would have preferred being anyplace else. Piles of dishes on tables make it hard to find a place to sit. Two steaks and an order of ribs came out to over $ 80.00. Are you kidding??? You have to jump up and down whenever you want something. Up and down. Up and down. Up and down. Food gets cold and congeals. Pre frozen onion rings resemble cardboard. Plain boiled vegetables are just disgusting. Why bother even putting them on a plate? The ribs are served gray and unpleasantly stringy. She ate two. The steaks were bland and tasted like a very cheap cut. No one was pleased. I decided to take the meat home for my dog and was charged 50 cents. Are they out of their minds? At least my dog enjoyed the leftover meat. He was the only one.

This place is AWFUL. My family came in and ordered some food including two Longhorn Steaks prepared medium, both of which came charred and well-done. The lady taking our order wrote it down correctly, and I appreciate that they fixed my order but if you order a dish named after a restaurant AND the restaurant has the word«Steakhouse» in it, I would like to believe they know how to cook a steak to medium. When we asked for some to-go boxes, they had the audacity to charge is 50c, and when we paid, we later realized they handed us a quarter and a nickel instead of two quarters, which is pretty much illegal. As a whole, I respect the service provided to us in redoing my order to medium, but it’s no wonder the restaurant has no business if they have trouble fulfilling the most basic order on their menu. My advice: skip the steak and grab a burger.

I have been dining at Longhorn Charcoal Pit for a lot of years. It is basic burger and steak place ala the old Burger Pits. I believe that it is the reason this place always intrigues me. A lot of nostalgia. The breakfast fare is really limited to a few types of omelettes, pancakes and the standard breakfast meats. The portions are hearty and the prices are extremely reasonable. I usually order a mushroom and spinach omelette. Surprisingly, the spinach and mushrooms are fresh and not the frozen or can variety. On occasion I have ordered a breakfast meat and eggs over easy. I have never been disappointed. While not outstanding, Longhorn is better than most of the breakfast places around. Lunch and Dinner. I have tried just about everything on the menu. I will say to stay away from the steaks if you are a die hard meat connoisseur. The steaks tend to be a little thin and tough. The burgers are outstanding. The balance of the menu is a hit and miss. I stay with the bigger burgers. The veggies can be down right great but sometimes they are left in the warmer too long and soggy, mushy veggie things are served. Order fry’s when possible, the baked potato can be a disappointing. Overall, a solid standard, old fashioned, charcoal pit out of the 60’s.

I went here for lunch, ordered the fish sandwich! It was two big fish sticks together on a bun. Tarter sauce was thin, the salad I ordered came out of a bag and wasn’t fresh! This place really was good back in the day! Owners sold out, retired again! Dinners are pricey, even though I didn’t go for dinner, if it’s any indication by the fish sandwich!!! For a big price go to Original Joe’s, the foods on point!

We came here with the family and every time it has been a great experience. Last time I ordered the steak w baked potato which was delicious and my bf got the chicken sandwich with fries. This Saturday I got the steak sandwich well done which was awesome and you can add what ever toppings you want with baked potato. My bf got the jumbo burger well done which was a bit dry and not very jumbo ish with fries but still good when adding bbq sauce to it. I will deff come back. Very quiet spot, nice people, cheap, and good food

Still love to go here with my family. Today we rode bikes(sort of a hair-raising experience along Saratoga-Sunnyvale –for this wimpy mom, anyway). They don’t have kids plates. So if you’re ordering for a kid, they’ll get the full-sized order. Today, my daughter wanted Pigs in a Blanket, which most of us know as a sausage link that’s rolled up inside of a pancake. The pancakes are huge, about ¾″ thick and full-sized, the sausage link is a standard link size and was nested snugly inside. I had the corned beef and hash with potatoes and a coffee. Hubby had his usual eggs w/bacon. The woman at the register can be a little curt if you’re not on the ball with ordering –don’t ask too many questions or try to get any changes on your order and you should be fine. Her ‘tude is stalled at the intersection of Slightly Grumpy and Predictable Morning Cashier Chitchat. Lots of seniors here, especially on a Sunday and some customers that look like they eat here way too much.

This place used to be better… or maybe I have just developed better taste for food. Paid 50 $ for a New York steak dinner and a steak & prawns dinner. The romaine lettuce in the salad was brown and watery. The steaks had no marble to them at all, really lacked in flavor. The prawns were just frozen/fried not fresh. I had to change one of the orders from Soup to salad, the lady working the counter was really offended that I asked her to make the change… «Um, can I have another salad instead of this clam chowder?» «Why?» The vegetables were undercooked, just an overall lousy dining experience. I went because I knew it would be slow and plenty of tables available… bad idea.

I went in on Sunday morning for breakfast. It looks as if they have upgraded the interior recently but the food needs serious work. There weren’t many people in there at all. So, I ordered the waffle special, which I’ve had many times, and I told the counter girl I wanted the waffle crispy, well, the food came really fast and the waffles were all pre made and almost soggy. The bacon was good but that was it. I go here for dinner all the time and the New York steaks are really good and you get what you pay for at dinner time. I will never eat breakfast here again. I wondered why it was so empty, but I found out why.

Haven’t been here in years, went last night for dinner. The steak sandwich is the perfect steak sandwich, great steak, bread and no frills. We also ordered the ribs, which were good as well. The burgers are HUGE here as well. I also like that you order your food, get your table and you are not pushed by a server. Always consistent and yummy! Apple pie dessert is also yummy. They recently redecorated the interior and have new booths, floor etc. The overall décor is authentic steakhouse motif — nothing fancy, but if the food is good, why should you care if there is fancy stuff on the walls, IMHO this just keeps the prices reasonable(LOL). A great deal for the amount of food that you get. Great for lunch and dinner, haven’t been here for breakfast though, Will be back again for sure.

Old and dingy are my first thoughts about this place. Good for breakfast like a Denny’s replacement or something like that. Dinner it is a ghost town for good reason, just not very good. You order like at McDonalds and then pick up at a counter. Nothing horrible here just not a place we enjoy. You shuffle in, eat the grub and get out as fast as you can.
