I am sad to see this one go. I managed this Coco’s in the late 80’s and mid 90’s. It was a class restaurant with great food. I went in once last year for a weekday lunch to find it not only empty, but looking like a dump. Very poorly maintained. I was happy to see some long term employees still there, and had a fun chat. The end of an Era.

Best service, so sorry to see it closed. If any of the employees(especially Brianne and Martin) read this; you are the best and we wish you much luck and success!!!

This location closed today — there was a sign on the door this morning. Employees were coming out with last check, they were as shocked as I was that it closed. The End.

Bad service. Served our coffee in dirty mugs. I had the Fish & Chips which was pretty good. I asked for Malt Vinegar which tasted funny. Experation date was scratched off bottle.

I’ve been coming here since I was young or in weekend after the movies with friends! It s typical American diner. I like their variety of food. You can get burgers, pastas or sandwiches. I’ve always loved their spicy Asian salad dressing! It’s the best I’ve ever tasted! I also love getting their pumpkin harvest our during thanksgiving! Their food is decent, portions are good for the price!

I come to this Coco’s several times a month. Sometimes we dine in and other times I order for pick up. The food is always good and the servers are always friendly. The restaurant is always clean, even the rest room. I wouldn’t change a thing about the restaurant, the food or the service. I will continue to come here until it stops being a great place to eat.

I really don’t understand all the bad reviews here. I think this restaurant should only be compared to other restaurants in its class: one step above fast food. Here, I’m thinking of places like Denny’s and IHOP. In this category think it does fine. I was greeted at the front door with a very friendly greeting and the service by the waitress was also excellent. She patiently had to return to my table twice because I was a bit slow in making up my mind. Each time she approach with a smile and friendly question re whether I was ready to order. I felt the food tasted great. I had a kind of chicken-spaghetti combo. While the building is a bit on the old side, I felt the place was clean and presentable. Overall, I would rate my experience as excellent within this category of restaurant.

Came here on Saturday for lunch, just 2 of us. Got seated right away. Brought our drinks, took our order quickly. Food came pretty fast as well. That was the last time we saw anyone. No refill on the coffee, water or soda. No checking to see if we needed anything else. It was like we were suddenly the only people in there. No customers either. My guest and I were talking a lot so we kept busy. I finally got up and found someone to get us boxes and our check. The food was average but the service strange.

TERRIBLE! !! We walked in with no greetings no smile just here you go throws the menus on the tables. I can ignore that stuff to but it gets worse we wait about 5 mins for drink order. We get coffee HUGE mistake! First I get my coffee and go to add my sugar and I look down and I see pink specks so I assume that’s just stained gross. I wipe with my finger and it comes off I look closer and it’s a perfect lipstick mark fresh one at that! Omg we should have left! So I get another cup why I did I’m sorry… ice cold stale coffee. For the food we ordered and waited probably 20 – 25 mins for our food mind you it wasn’t busy. we ordered the meat lovers omelet add avocado pancakes and order of bisquits and gravy. simple I think can’t mess this up huh WRONG! Food was cold dry and over cooked nothing was good. Sorry I didn’t just leave after coffee ugh

We went on a Saturday morning. Our findings: * Parking was ample. * We were greeted and seated with menu’s promptly. * Food variety is excellent, with wide variety of egg, skillet, pancake types dishes * Food came hot and order was delivered accurately * Coffee and juice both had refills and we were offered refills * Food was tasty * Price was 20% BELOW similar meal in Los Altos restaurant. Pricing was a BIGPLUS. * Manager thanked us for our business ont he way out, showed some attention to customers. Negatives: Bathroom was dirty. Wet papers were bunched up in a corner next to toilet. No sign of a maintenance schedule showing who had cleaned the bathroom and when. Many restaurants clean their bathrooms and have a sheet on the back of the door showing who and when. Sorry, full star off for this one. Graffiti was on the wall and equipment. CLEANYOURBATHROOM! Gross!

This cocos has better food than any other cocos. Service is great! I like they give out hot breads free while we wait for our foods. I’ve been here several times and everything pretty consistent. Btw their Dutch Apple Pie with Vanilla Ice cream is super delicious :-) love it.

I only come here only for their pies as their entrees are too salty for me. Their apple, pumpkin and banana crème pies are the best! Pumpkin pies are super cheap during pumpkin season in the fall, they’re like $ 6.99 or some crazy low price. Right now, they’ve also got some deal where all their pies are $ 8.99. Apple pies are perfect here. Not too sweet, crispy fresh apples, soft delicious dough and a nice flaky pie crust. Banana cream pies have a lot of banana in them and are also not too sweet. They are a little bit heavier though with all the whipped cream in it, so I don’t get this one as a whole pie as much anymore. They’ve got tons of other award winning pies and lots of other great selections, however these are definitely my faves.

After driving all most 2,000 miles from calif. to Oregon and back. Having so much great service at all the restaurants in Oregon and now back home and having brunch here and got our coffee and sat there for 15 minutes to get our order in. We would say longer if someone did not come to refill our cups. Food was good but not the way I order it. I guess the person did not have a good day.

Very bad service! We came in last night and we asked to be seated. The lady whom was very rude stated«it will be 5 minutes» 30 minutes later, they set up the table and would NOT seat us! So we asked to be seated and the lady was extremely rude about it so we said«We’re just going to go to Denny’s if you’re not going to seat us» And she says«Yeah you go right ahead we’d be glad» who does that?! There was 6 of us and she was just relieved to see about $ 70 walk out of the building? What respectable business would do this? The people were not even working! They were just screwing around and talking to each other. Just in case the owner sees this review, the date we came in was 5÷24÷15 at around 8 – 10 P.M. I would strongly recommend to let the(receptionist?) go. There was an older couple that came before us that waited 45 minutes and the CHEF had to get out of the kitchen and seat them. This is simply ridiculous.

I like that this restaurant is close to home. We walk in and grab seats at the bar. All of the workers are polite and service is good. They keep the coffee coming and they help when you don’t know what to order. I also like their strawberry coffee crumble cake. Yum!

Came on a Saturday morning, the place is half empty, yet we were held to wait for 15min to get seated. The hostess asked us if we want to seat at the counter, we were very confused why. She said to seat us faster, but there were 10 tables available. After seated at a booth, the waiter didn’t show up till 15min later, took them another good 6~7 min to get our water. Waiters taking one trip with one bill to oir neighbor, another trip to collect bill from another neighbor, but no drink for us still. Waiting for food now, another 20min now. A lady not too far from us got really angry, she complained that she waited for an hour for food, while the order came eventually totally not what she ordered. The waiter said something like you don’t want it, and took the fod away. The lady has to call the manager. Now they are all on her case, trying to get her the right food.

4⁄5 stars Okay, I can’t remember the last time I was actually at a Coco’s Family Restaurant for food. I typically come in here for their piesssss!!! However, this time around, I came in here to meet a friend, and we just ordered coffee; the wait staff was very nonchalant about us not ordering food, so that’s why 4 stars for them!

We went to Cocos tonight, Saturday 6pm with a buy 1 meal and 2 drinks and get the second meal free coupon. The place is a block from 101 in the boondocks, far away from the action on Murphy Street in Sunnyvale. This is more like a truck stop right next to the freeway, where the most important thing is to fill up the belly with meat, at the lowest price possible, quality out the window! It’s about 72 degrees outside, and much colder inside, with the AC running full blast. I’m wearing a short sleeve women’s light green collared shirt — a $ 5 last day special from the Sacramento Jazz Festival, my short 1990s Fila tennis shorts to show off my 62 year old tennis tanned legs, and my purple flower Birkenstock sandals! My wife goes back to the car to get a coat, here in the middle of September, to keep from turning into a popsicle in the meat locker temperatures inside the restaurant! The place looks nice, with every seat inside a cushioned booth. Not too many Unilocalers here, with people here for the senior menu specials. Not a place for a first date, or it will be your last date, as the place is more like a geriatric ward! We both order the $ 1512 oz prime rib with baked potato, and devour the hot brown and white bread in seconds flat, like it was our last meal! I get the 16 ounce unlimited orange juice for $ 2.49, and the wife a 185 ml glass of Cabernet Sauvignon for $ 4.75. The whole place looks like in slow motion, including the service, where it takes 25 minutes for the prime rib to arrive, despite the place being half empty, with crumbs from the previous occupant underneath the surrounding tables –most of the older clients have such poor eyesight they wouldn’t notice anyway!. Meanwhile 1960s and 1970s oldies are playing on the overhead speaker, sounding really sweeky, as if they have the orignal 45 rpm record running on a turntable, scratches and all! The audio is not up to the 1970s disco music standards, here in 2014! Not that the older folks here, hard at hearing, could tell the difference! Both our prime ribs arrive at the same time, and look identically blood rare –but I ordered mine medium and do have good eyesight, unlike some of the other old fart customers! I send send it back. 4 minutes later, it comes back medium –that’s what I call service! The food itself is just OK if you are really hungry –where else can you get two drinks and two 12 oz prime ribs with potato for $ 30? Not much flavor in the steamed brocolli the potato, nor the prime ribs –both need a lot of seasoning, and the meat is on the dry side. I guess they keep it salt free for their main clients: geriatric customers on a low salt diet. Meanwhile a family with two pre-school kids arrives next door. As Arnold would say, it’s hasta la vista baby time! We get out of there with an $ 8 Dutch apple pie special of the month to die for, and call it a night, giving my frost bitten toes some relief in the warm evening air, with the drone of cars on the 8 lane Lawrence Expressway next door –not the most romantic of settings, even for a dull place like Silicon Valley. For other diners, its onto the next truck stop 4 hours away!

If you like fresh pies, this is the place for you! Yesterday I bought a Fresh Blueberry Lemon Harvest Pie for $ 12.99. It had nice flaky pie crust filled with custard and fresh blueberries, layered with lemon chiffon, and topped with whipped cream. All the women at the party liked it. I think they make good, affordable pies. Since majority of the pies are seasonal, I can’t seem to locate the pies I had in the past when party guests brought them. One of the more memorable pies I have had was this really rich raspberry chocolate mousse pie but I can’t seem to find it on their current dessert menu. It’s kind of sad that there are so many Coco’s closing around the Bay Area. I hope this Coco’s will remain in business. It’s a great local place to get seasonal fresh and affordable pies. They usually carry the more popular pies in the restaurant but you can also order the pies online in advance for pick-up.
