I went here and ordered the«street tacos» a la cart for a snack with our drinks. They were ok but a little fatty and the corn tortillas were store bought and cold. Here is the worst part and the reason I will never go back again, 3 tacos $ 16.50. Wow! I make good money but won’t be back to waste it on overpriced food just because they are in Lincoln center. It cost more than the 3 beers! When we asked thinking it was a mistake. The owner said yes they are the carne asada ones and they are 5.50 $$ a taco!

As you walk in it is clean. The people are kind. You will only see a few. The food and prices were all similar to the older location. The service and the fact that it was very, very clean was the difference. I like the chicken taco lunch but I don’t like the mini scoop of rice and beans they give you. It is really only slightly bigger than a quarter each scoop. They should give the choice of a good sized salad with your lunch item or ice cream size scoops instead of melon ball scoops of rice and beans. The cheese is an afterthought and simply grated. Not melted like it should be on the food here. That is lazy and gross in my opinion. The tortillas are very generic like the ones you get at the store. They will give you one with your meal if you ask and even after that they did not bring it. This location has better parking but is needs more employees. When I was there there were 15 guests and 3 employees. This could explain the wait.

I loved the rice, and received a large portion of food. My waitress was on top of everything order and drink wise. Other than rice the food was somewhat so-so Mexican and the price was a hair higher than you’d pay elsewhere. I guess that’s what you get for visiting a restaurant in the Lincoln center.

Consistent food quality and good service. Welcoming host. Soft drinks are always good too.

The two stars are for decent service, not particularly friendly but prompt. I feel like this restaurant needs to be rescued by Restaurant Impossible on Foodnetwork. The food is bland, beans are dry, the rice is mushy. No love in the food. And I think its overpriced for the quality.

Good food and service, reasonable prices, nicely decorated. Located in Lincoln Center, it’s a nice lunch stop while you’re shopping. Smaller dining room, so no banquet facilities.

No flavor. Bland. Fatty food. Tons of cheese all over everything. Not quality Mexican food. Trust. Mexicans don’t eat food like this. It’s not authentic. Lardy and you feel all bloated after. I’m good off this joint.

It was okay. Their tacos are good though. The service needs improvement too,

Love the inside look. Very clean. However the food was nothing out of the ordinary. Chips and salsa is alright, so is the beans. I ordered the chile relleno and there was so much egg barter and cheese, yet so little of the actual chile. Wouldn’t really recommend this place to friends.

Really good food! And I love how clean the establishment is in comparison to many Mexican restaurants in the area! By far the best!

I had heard there was a Tio opened near me and couldn’t wait to go there, I should have waited. It was awful. I ordered chicken tacos and chicken quesadillas, the tacos were sitting in a puddle of grease and the chicken was crispy as if it had been microwaved 5 too many times. The rice had a different taste and also the beans. I am still going to Tio Pepe but I’ll travel downtown to get my money’s worth. I loved the food when they were on Westlane & March but the owner was a hot mess which is why I ordered my food to go. My opinion may not be worth much but I will not go back to Tio Pepe in Lincoln center.

I used to come eat dinner here at least once a week. I always get the cheese quesadilla a la carte — it is absolutely delicious. Everyone is super friendly and you’re always greeted once you step food inside.

I’ve been coming here about once every 2 weeks for the past couple months now. Although I’m not a fan of their rice, everything else on the plate makes up for the taste. I’m a simple guy, I order the Taco Dinner every time. There’s an amount of chicken underneath all of the lettuce. I remember coming here on a visit and the chicken tacos contained so much chicken, that I pretty much filled up on the first one. If you come to this location, you have to try out their gravy, cheese & bean dip. It’s fantastic! The service here is fine. I’ve had one gal wait on me a couple times now who’s memorized what I order and stays on top of the refills. Everything works out better if you have a chance to eat when it’s not as packed in here. Getting here around the time they open, or an hour before closing, you can literally be in and out of here around 25 – 35 minutes. I introduced a friend to this place and now comes in here somewhat regularly too. The owners here have one of the best locations here in town for this type of food and you can tell it’s been a success.

This was my first time ever eating at Tio Pepe’s, period, so I didn’t have any of the other locales to compare it to. Ive been a little hesitant to try it after mixed/lackluster reviews from my coworkers & customers in Lincoln Center, but finally decided to give it a try for lunch. I ordered the Chile Relleno lunch to go. Portions were generous for the price, and everything tasted good, no complaints. My one caveat was the Chile Relleno was a bit over-battered, but other than that it was pretty standard Mexican food. Will probably be back to try more lunch options.

I recently brought my sister and my nieces here for dinner. Let’s just say. we didn’t stay long! Upon being seated, I asked if we could have a booth. the waitress looked at me unsure.“even though the restaurant was half empty”.then told me we can, but she would have to place us in the back. Yes, there was plenty of open booth’s toward the front, but I didn’t complain. Nor did I complain about«odd looking guy» with his shirt wide open behind the bar! We began to be seated. the waitress placed a high chair for my younger niece. When another waitresses came by and said«what are you doing? They can’t sit here!» I asked why? When she responded«if we want a high chair then we can’t have a booth»… mmm. Okay! So we gladly left and definitely won’t be returning to this location. NOTFAMILYFRIENDLY.

Let me just start off by saying I actually love Tio Pepe’s. It’s a staple in my family’s restaurant rotation, but we usually go to the one downtown near the movie theaters. The location in Lincoln center would be so much more convenient! It has way better parking, is closer to where I live and the atmosphere in Lincoln center is lovely & close to shopping. The food just seems to be slightly off at this establishment, not sure if they toned it down to fit the demographic but the flavor was just not there and sadly I was disappointed. To top it off the service was not amazing either. Will be sticking to what I know and continuing to make the hike to the other side of town…

Bumping back up to 5 stars! Can’t think of a reason to knock any stars off. We got the gravy issue resolved. They DO have the same mild gravy that they had at the old place. I just did not know how to order it so all is well now… It’s been 3 ½ years and their back! Great to have you guys back. I know we were all wondering when and if they would ever return… The restaurant is really nice inside. Seats around 80 people. We arrived a bit before the 11 a.m. opening and the restaurant filled up shortly thereafter. We noticed a brisk ‘to go’ business too. Great use of space and well furnished. Very functional. They have several tables outside in front on the sidewalk for fair-weather dining. Several of the same crew is back. Same owners and cook(Mario)! The new crew and waitstaff seemed well trained and were really on their game. Great menu… and prices are in line with other Mexican restaurants which was a concern considering they are now paying rent in Lincoln Center. We started with guacamole, gravy with cheese and salsa. All were very good but the guacamole deserves special mention. It did not have any dominant overwhelming flavors that drowned out the taste of the avocados, which we all loved. In the gravy and cheese I detected a bit more spice in the brown gravy than I remembered from the old restaurant. Don’t know if that is a permanent change or just the way it came out today. I guess this gringo could get used to it. Entrees included a chicken taco, small chicken salad and two enchilada dinners(with extra brown gravy please!). :) We all were very happy with our orders. I’m sure things were hectic back in the kitchen this being the first day. Just imagine how great everything will be once they are running at 100% Welcome back, Tio’s! Wishing you much success… p/s their phone number remains the same all the way back from when they were located at Hammer and Lower Sac!
