Small diner located on the Port of Stockton property. Go to the west end of the Crosstown Freeway. Right on Fresno. Left on Washington. Follow it around to Navy Drive over the San Joaquin River. Check in with the guardhouse for the Port… the restaurant will be a block further on the right-hand side. Been open about one year. Delroy, the chef, was previously the cook for the defunct Commercial Exchange Club at the Port of Stockton and has now ventured out with his own deli. They are open Monday through Friday only… 7:30AM to 2:30PM. They specialize in Jamaican and American food. Barbecue, seafood, and soul food. They also have a few breakfast sandwiches that they serve till 10:30AM. Barbecue on Thursdays and Fridays only. Their special of the day today was a jerk chicken sandwich on a Genova roll. I tasted the jerk chicken… It was a bit spicy for me. I ordered the pastrami sandwich meal which included chips and a soda. I also added a large cup of homemade split pea soup which was pretty good. I enjoyed talking with Delroy. Really friendly guy. They also do festivals, business catering and special events. I would probably not make a special trip to eat here but if I was in the area I would stop in again.
