Second time at this restaurant in couple years. I could not remember what kept me away for this long, but now I do. Upon entering the restaurant to pick up my order, I immediately noticed the «old structure» non-​vented place smell. The carpet looked filthy in need for dire replacement and the entire place looked outdated, and in need of deep cleaning. First thought that came to mind was «I wonder how clean the kitchen is?». Took the food home in hopes of good quality, after this first bad impression. The food tasted ok with mediocre quality. From a value stand point, I would say the quantity of food was not generous for the amount paid. Cleanliness is MAJOR key factor to food catering business. Last time there, sorry!

In the 610 area of Stafford this is the go to place for good Chinese. I have tried them all around our town and I always fall back to Formosa. Most other Chinese places are either over priced for the portions or just really greasy. If you like Hot and Spicy in your Chinese then let them know. Tell them you want it Chinese extra hot and they will hook you up and best of all— they deliver!!!

The food here is good but the service is not. It took so long to have our main course order taken that we were done with our appetizer before they took the order. We were rarely checked on, and when I asked for extra sauce it took 15 minutes to get it… I had already finished the meal without it. We also had to ask for a to-​go box 3 times before I got one. They were most attentive when we were paying and they were cleaning the table –_–

Some of the best Chinese food around! I’ve been eating their chicken fried rice for almost twenty years now. Recently I’ve been stuck on egg foo yung and chicken pan fried noodles. Their crispy spicy beef is always on point, they’re always nice when you call in your orders and it never takes more than 25 minutes if you’re picking up! Rain, sleet, snow, they’ll deliver, even if there’s a hurricane or blizzard in the works! Awesome place for Chinese food! strongly recommended!

We’ve been ordering from Formosa for many, many years. It’s one of the better Chinese restaurants in Stafford. Now I know that’s not saying much because Stafford is a pretty small town but I’ve lived in China and some of Formosa’s food is pretty authentic. The fried dumplings are pretty good as well. The all American favorite, General Tso’s, isn’t the best.

Had lunch here today. Lunch special General Tso chicken. Chicken was fatty and greasy. Fried rice okay and mostly cabbage in egg roll. Service okay but nothing spectacular.

I have been going to this place for quite some time. My girlfriend and I eat here almost every sinday buffet. The staff is very nice, and jenny is the sweetest woman you will ever meet. The food is DELICIOUS. It is easily one of the best chinese food stops ive ever been to. Dont pass on this place, order some food to go, or have it delivered. Maybe go on sunday for a 9 dollar buffet of real meats and yummy lo mein and fried rice!

Best Chinese food in Stafford. It is always fresh and tasty, and the lady that’s worked there since I was a kid is so nice and friendly. I usually have it delivered, and it’s always fast. Nothing negative to say about this restaurant. :)

We order from here often, and they always tell us it’ll be 45 minutes for delivery, and almost every time it’s like 15 minutes. Delivery guys are great, and they’ve never messed up an order.

Love this place! The décor is not impressive but if your willing to try the food it will blow you away. Best General Tso chicken (and shrimp) I’ve ever had. I’ve never had a dish I didnt like or a disappointing visit in almost 10 years. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed!

We used to come here all the time on Sundays for the buffet when I was little. It used to be really good, or my tastes have just gotten better, but its kind of disappointing now. The buffet has less to choose from and its all fried or has very little veggies. The food is just ok, but nothing special. The owner is still the same and super nice, service is still good too, but its just not the same. More nostalgic now than anything.

Formosa was really delicious. We had spring rolls, kung pao chicken, and pork fried rice, and everything was good. The kung pao chicken was actually spicy, unlike at other places.
Our waiter (who was also probably the owner/​manager) was friendly & personable. Our water & tea was kept refilled, and when I asked about scallion pancakes (not on the menu), he apologized & said those were one of his favorites. It was very clean, including the restrooms. We went on a Friday night, and it was super busy — mostly with takeout & delivery, but there were some filled tables as well. Also, they appear to have a lunch buffet. Yes, Formosa is in a strip mall, and I just need to get over that in Stafford (and surrounding area) most restaurants are in a strip mall.
