Food is decent. Ive eaten here probably a dozen times and it is hot and miss. Atmosphere is pretty terrible. Its like a bar for the retirement county(i call south county retirement count bc of all the fing old people). Service. Hit or miss. Last time i was served stiff drinks. This time i was served soda with a splash of rum. Had to order a double and it was 5.50 for a rum and coke during their special. Pretty much a rip off considering it’s supposed to be a special. Bar definitely smells bad and the actual bar is pretty sticky gross. If in the area you are better off hitting helens unless your living in a retirement home. Come here.

We had a party of 7 and everybody loved the food. 3 different appetizers and bowl of beef stew were the start and they were all perfect! The beef stew is so good and fresh(so fresh I got a bay leaf in my bowl!)! Great service as well!

O’Leary’s has been the number 1 «go to» place for my wife and I for years. It is a great pub and the food is always good with the bison burger as our favorite. They have some new personnel these days and even after trying to getting familiar with the new bartender, we show up at they look at us like strangers. We’ve given it some time, but it’s just not the same place for us.

I’ve definitely experienced better. This place has gone downhill in my opinion. The food was just okay, the chicken wrap lacked flavor and was filled with iceberg lettuce. The service I’m afraid though, was worse. When the place is almost empty on a Sunday afternoon, I expect above-average service. Our waitress was completely uninterested in anyone besides the ‘regulars’ at the bar. We waited a good while for our food, and it took 15 minutes to get drink refills halfway through our meal. With the food being nothing special, and the service poor, I don’t see myself returning.

This is one of my favorite spots for a burger and a beer in St. Louis. The atmosphere is great, and it is a perfect place to watch the game with your friends. The patrons are extremely welcoming as well. This is a great spot to have a business meeting, and the service is always on point. They have a lot of activities during the week, which is always a ton of fun!!! Definitely stop here and enjoy it.

Always enjoyed this place. It has a relaxing atmosphere, good food and drink, friendly staff, and low noise level. The burgers are fresh and juicy, of above average size and quality. I especially enjoy the sweet potato fries, salad dressings, and pickle spear along with a fresh light bun. The Guinness is always fresh!

This is the second time I have eaten here and this time is much like the first. Very average food. Pretty good drink specials. My bud draft was 2.50 and noticed they had 6 bottle bucket for $ 12. As for food, the first time I got the chicken pasta and this time I went with the shamrock steak. Pasta was ok. The steak had little flavor, it did have a ball of cold butter on top which may have had flavor. I just wasn’t wanting to make my steak cold by rubbing the cold butter in. Advise, put butter on steak will it is on grill and allow it to melt.

When I was watching Roseanne in the ‘80s and ‘90s, I never imagined I’d one day be living in Saint Louis and dining at a pub once partially owned by John Goodman. Though, when I think about it, it makes perfect sense. I have a long history with celebrities. I’ve been to Melissa Joan Hart’s yogurt shop. She wasn’t there that day, but I’m sure the people working there had met her – or had met someone who had met her. At the very least, Melissa probably has been inside her yogurt shop. So, I’d say we’re pretty close to being besties. Then, there was that time I commented on a photograph on Soleil Moon Frye’s website. She totally responded directly to me and loved what I had said. We’re like sisters. Just call me Kitty Brewster. But nothing compares to the time I went to a taping of The Big Bang Theory. Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, and Johnny Galecki were there, but you’ll never believe who sat in front of me in the audience. Child actress Olivia Waldriff! You know, from the HBO film Grey Gardens! How jealous are you?! So, even though I personally am not famous, I just can’t seem to escape the Hollywood lifestyle. Now that John Goodman is no longer connected with O’Leary’s, I guess it’s up to me to bring some star quality back to the restaurant. :p My group arrived at noon on a Sunday. We had a reservation, but that probably wasn’t necessary. The place wasn’t very busy. Appetizers, excluding the quesadilla and sampler platter, were half-price that day. I’m not sure if that’s something they do every Sunday. I was a first-timer. Our group started with fried pickles and wings. The fried pickles were thin and crispy and were served with a ranch dipping sauce. The thought of a fried pickle kind of repulsed me, but I had a few and liked them. Though, the group agreed they were very, very salty. I also had two chicken wings. It was my first time to EVER try chicken wings, and I thought they were good. I have no benchmark to which I can compare them, but other experienced wing-eaters at the table also declared the wings delicious. I saw that you can make your wings«Amurican» for an extra buck. I’m not sure what that involves. For the main course, nearly everyone at the table ordered a sandwich with fries or onion rings. My father-in-law had a chicken strip dinner that looked delightful. The husband ordered his usual plain burger and fries. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. I kind of wanted a baked potato. Unfortunately, those aren’t available until after 4PM. I ended up ordering the grilled chicken salad without cheese or onions. My modified order consisted of chicken, iceberg lettuce, and grape tomatoes. This was definitely a dieter’s salad, and I wouldn’t recommend it unless you are watching your waistline. It was served with crackers and croutons that weren’t mentioned in the menu description. That’s a nice touch, but I didn’t eat them. A couple of other hiccups with my meal were: –Without having a chance to find the beverage section on their menu, I ordered Diet Coke. She didn’t ask, «Is Pepsi okay?» So, I assumed they had Coke products. After she left, I saw Pepsi and Dr. Pepper on the menu. Fortunately, my brother-in-law arrived after we had ordered drinks. He took my Diet Pepsi, and I ordered a Diet Dr. Pepper. –I ordered fat-free Italian dressing for my salad. It was listed as an option on the menu. When my salad arrived, I noticed it looked a tad oily. I asked about it, and the waitress said it was light Italian. Light Italian was not listed on the menu, and they apparently do not have fat-free Italian dressing. Rating: Even though they didn’t have the dressing I wanted and even though they don’t have Coke products(:p), I’m still going to give O’Leary’s four stars. The food was good, and the waitress was friendly and attentive. She kept our glasses refilled, and that’s very important to me. My salad wasn’t anything special, but that’s my own doing. I’m the one on a diet. The other food at my table looked fantastic. (Don’t tell anyone, but I had a few fries. They were battered and perfectly cooked.) Notes: Everything in this review is true, but some people tend to take me far too literally. I just wanted to point out I am NOT some kind of weird Roseanne fangirl. Also, I’ve never seen the movie Grey Gardens and had never heard of Olivia Waldriff prior to The Big Bang Theory taping. The host at the taping called people up between scenes to keep the audience entertained, and Olivia Waldriff was one of those people.

Fried pickles were shitty! More like a big basket of fried breading and grease. The salad was simply lettuce on a plate with dressing. Service was fair at best. The kitchen appeared dirty from walking past on the way to the bathroom. Very loud place. Drove behind the place only to find a huge pile of trash and boxes out the back door and the door wide open for bugs to fly in while 3 kitchen guys were sitting outside smoking. Not impressed don’t waste your money! Plenty of other options close by

At O’Learys, a mixed field green salad means all iceberg lettuce. Apparently when you order grilled chicken they think fried chicken is ok to sub. And asking for a glass of water means I want another glass of wine. A shout out to Colin the manager who really could care less when we told him in front of the other patio patrons some of which were also complaining about the service and food. Sorry guys but the new ownership here is not caring enough to try and reconcile the issues. We are done. And it’s a shame. I hate to say that about a locally owned restaurant. Mellow Mushroom is coming soon!!!

A-Ok is about right. I had lunch with a former co-worker today. Good experience but nothing that will cause me to go out of my way to get back here. Their daily special was a single baked cannelloni with both white and red sauce. It came with a side salad and I chose their house poppy-seed dressing. An unusual choice for me but pretty good. The cannelloni itself was good but this is a city where Italian food can be great so it paled in a bit in comparison. The meat mixture inside the pasta was the star of the show but it got a little lost in the sauce, literally. The blandness of the sauce drowned out a lot of the flavor in this dish and the pasta was just simply there. Service was good and drinks were kept full. One recommendation would be to serve a bread stick or something similar with the cannelloni.

We visited O’Leary’s on St. Patrick’s Day weekend. They were busy… I think every seat in the joint was taken. I had visted this place a few times in the distant past… before the new ownership, before the place was remodled due to a fire. It’s much bigger now. On big room, with a big bar, surrounded by barstools, booths and a few tables. This is clearly a nieghborhood hangout. Many of the patrons knew each other and it was clear that most were regulars. We sat at the bar… there were 3 bartenders, but they were always busy. Service was a bit spotty. It took a while to get a menu, my iced tea was often empty, and it just seemed we were overlooked… but again, they were packed due to the holiday. We ate some wings and french bread pizza. Both were fine. Nothing unusual.

What can I say, being of Irish descent, I am always a fan of good food and good beer. I ordered a O’Leary’s burger, featuring a beef patty with thin sliced corned beef and had a side sauce of horseradish with crème. along with a pile of fries and $ 2.50 drafts on special; that makes for a great meal. The environment is great and the server was even better. Brought me beers without even asking which is A-OK in my book. looking forward to come back in two thursdays, yes I already plan to return and have a set date!

This is a restaurant close to my neighborhood so happened by for lunch. I had an entertainment coupon and asked whether there were any restrictions… yes. Not good on holidays. I guess Valentines lunch is a big deal. Maybe that’s why it was 2⁄3 empty. Glad I didn’t come yesterday because that was national flannel day! Anyway… ordered the lunch soup/sandwich combo. Soup got sent back for being cold. The waitress asked if I wanted mayo for my sandwich because it came plain. I said I would rather have a little ranch on the side. Surprise! Up charge of $.50 for the ranch. Forgot the lemon for my water. Oh the little things that add up to spoil a patrons experience. I believe I’ll take my business to another local restaurant. Maybe that’s why it was so empty. Are you listening owner?

The food here is above your usual bar fare, and comparable to a pretty decent restaurant. Just enough good difference in flavor and variety of choices from your basic burger/pasta/sandwich options. Our orders appeared at our table in very timely fashion and were appropriately sized. We enjoyed extremely attentive service — attentive but not obtrusive. Our server was knowledgeable about their entrée’s, and interacted with us beyond the usual«my name is what can I get you?» patter. The décor was a mix of the kitschy fake Irish bar stuff and local St. Louis oddities, but it was clean, open and light(we were there in mid-afternoon.) Pre-tip tab for an appetizer, three meals and two draft beers was $ 50. I would definitely return if we were back in the area.

I have been here a few times and the food and service are always usually acceptable to good. Went for karaōke night which was fun, another time there was a big birthday party, another time was a dead Tuesday. So I’ve seen it all here. My wife did get sick once because they made their own summer shandy by spiking a beer with Lemony liquor, oops! I could hang out here for a while but I prefer places a little more cozy. Summer months could be fun here because of the patio outside.

We not only had a great happy hour but we had really good appetizers(although I was disappointed that we didn’t get fried pickles) our waitress was great. Her name was Katie. She was the MOST attentive waitress I’ve ever had. We never needed anything. As for the appetizers… go for the pretzel bites, they are like a cross between a doughnut and a pretzel.

I honestly hadn’t thought about O’Leary’s since John Goodman was on Rosanne. A coupon did it’s job, though, and recently brought me back… twice. The first visit was awesome. A surprising 4 solid stars. I had the Some Like It Hot Burger — very tasty with pepperjack cheese and fried jalapenos served with a side of ranch. It was excellent. Service was too — very personal and attentive. I thought to myself that this must be a fluke. Why had I stopped going to O’Leary’s all these years if it was so great? My second visit was why. Now I had expectations. Unfortunately, this trip was 2 stars. Service was still excellent but the food was horrible. We started with the fried pickles that were good at first, but got very greasy and very salty very fast. I went with the buffalo chicken wrap this time. Big mistake. No taste whatsoever — It was like eating a bunch of iceberg lettuce. I wound up taking it apart and just eating the chicken with a fork. Just horrible. Now John Goodman isn’t the only person no longer affiliated with O’Leary’s. Add me to the list.

After watching 5 year olds play soccer, one gets hungry. Yes, apparently there is a correlation between the two. Studies have shown this. We were right around the corner from this joint, so the drive wasn’t too far. It was a Saturday afternoon, and to my surprise, the place wasn’t insanely crowded. The big group of us(what can I say, I come from a big family) were seated in the room across from the bar that is set up for larger groups. Like I said, we were hungry, so we went with the ever famous fried pickles. Yep. That is right. The often imitated, never duplicated, friend pickles. As soon as the waitress placed them on the table, you would have thought some of these people hadn’t eaten in days. Seriously, if you weren’t careful, you would have lost a hand. Or finger. Or eye. The O’leary burger is the size of your head. Seriously. The kids mac and cheese worked well for the kiddos. They pretty much inhaled it before it cooled off. The pickle burger, is yum! Remember those friend pickles, yep, they put those bad boys on the burger. It is a match made in heaven. No, really, it is. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. It has my seal of approval.
