SVf… SERVICE, VIEW& food… We had a party of 6 at happy hour on Friday and never wanted for service. With libations and appetizers moving at the perfect speed from order to delivery. All I can do for the view is echo all the reviewers that came before me. The view was great but we timed it a little poorly as the best spots were taken by the time we got there. Scout it out early for one of the corner lounges. The lower case in my lead sentence and one star deduction was for the lackluster appetizers. The pretzel sticks and herb hummus apps were not bad but the toasted ravioli was really thumbs down. They really seemed more like frozen pizza rolls. I would really have liked to see a nice charcuterie selection. But I guess I would ALWAYS like to see a nice charcuterie selection. I just like to write ‘charcuterie.‘ We will definitely return — just will make different food selections.

Some of the best service and attention to detail I have ever experienced. Staff were well spoken, trained and dressed. If you are a grilled cheese fan get the Grown up grilled cheese. Good luck finishing it! Also had am amazing omelette for breakfast. Sometimes omelettes tend to be bland, not so with this one. Flavor to the max!

Incredibly nice boutique restaurant in the Delmar Loop. My favorite is the Eclipse breakfast: two eggs, hash-browns, bacon, wheat toast and coffee, all for $ 13. And, they serve the Eclipse all day. Great environment and atmosphere. If you are looking for a great place to eat while you’re in the Loop, you should definitely consider The Eclipse restaurant. Easy and free parking immediately behind the building. If you are there for breakfast or brunch, ask for Diane. She’ll take great care of you!

RESTAURANT I stopped in one morning for breakfast while staying at the Moonrise Hotel. Service was fine and I had a four-top to myself, which was nice as I had room to read the paper and do the crossword without feeling crowded once my food arrived. I went with their cereal-crusted french toast and it was quite tasty and rich. The crispy coating gave it that extra something that many french toasts lack, and it was definitely closer to the dessert end of the spectrum. The serving was generous with three large slices and it arrived with a petite pitcher of syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar. BAR Stellar. You can’t beat the ambience — sleek, future retro, lanterns that look like planets, a revolving moon, and seamless indoor to outdoor transition from bar to patio. The lounge was comfortable for sitting and talking, and while the bar was bustling I could easily hear my friend over the din. We had some excellent drinks — the names are escaping me(perhaps an Aviation for my friend and I had something with corpse in the title that was delicious). If I find myself at the Moonrise or a show at the Pageant again I wouldn’t hesitate to stop by for a beverage on the rooftop.

I made reservations for Valentines Day, a 3 course special was offered for $ 100 a couple. The special included 2 glasses of champagne*(I found out they actually dont carry champagne only sparkling wine from Italy or Spain, not a big deal but the waiter didnt seem to get that if its not made in France, its not really Champagne) I arrived 30 min early so I enjoyed a dirty martini at the rooftop bar and my wife had a glass of reisling. Both were good and the views were romantic given St Louis just had a significant dusting of snow. The V day menu special included a kale salad, seared scallops, lamp chops and shank and a dessert. I also ordered the onion bread. its fantastic. The portions were served for a couple so each course came out on 1 plate. My wife ended up sliding over and just sat next to me rather than across and it helped make it more intimate and romantic. Everything was very well prepared, the staff were very helpful and welcoming. Everyone from the Valet to the Hostess and Waiter were very attentative. We actually were seated in Joe Edwards’(owner) regular table in the back corner so we had a very private setting and great view of the eclectic art and groovy atmosphere. As a St Louis native, I’m glad this place exists. Attached to the Moonrise Hotel, this place is quirky, artistic, modern yet salutes the history of space with its various memorabilia and space themed art and décor. It sorta felt like a Space Aged IKEA. We liked it because its so unique. Check it out.

The bartender wouldn’t make Jackie treehorns. Said they didn’t have coconut cream. Said they are no longer on the menu. What a travesty.

The menu seemed interesting but the appetizers were only OK. The butter burger sounded good but it was just greasy not buttery. Gave me indigestion all night and the following day. Way overpriced for the quality. Would not recommend eating here.

Unilocal seat me was so easy! Put in my info, they call to confirm, and it’s taken care of. The gentleman at Eclipse called back to confirm and when I called to say I would be late immediately guessed correctly who I was. Said no prob on my 15 mins late. We were about 25 minutes late and they still were professional and welcoming. Server was very polite and courteous. Knew when to pop by the table for drink refills. Felt a little rushed to order but I take that on me because I was late and if they had the table reserved for someone else they have to be in a position to reset. The onion pull apart bread wasn’t quite what I was expecting but it was delicious. Again, I could have asked a question so it’s not on the restaurant. My boyfriend and I both ordered the scallops and they were cooked perfectly and the entire entrée worked perfectly together. This season’s accompaniments were Brussels sprouts, polenta, delicious mushroom medley, and a marrow, burre blanc sauce. The cocktails were also delicious. Solid, pre-concert meal. This was my third or fourth time dining at Eclipse and I can see myself going back.

Family was in town and staying at the Moonrise Hotel, so we had late-night dessert, and brunch at Eclipse. I am giving five stars not because of the food, but because of the service. The dessert menu at the hotel has a vegan ice cream sandwich which isn’t marked as such. We asked our waitress if anything was diary-free, she looked at the menu, and couldn’t find anything. No worries! We’re happy with tea. She then actually checked with the kitchen out of her own volition, came back, and told us which item was vegan! At brunch today, the waitress and kitchen staff were nice enough to make sure my vegetable hash was completely vegan, down to the sundried tomato tapenade. This was all after I just wanted to clarify what the potatoes were fried with. Great experience overall. Hopefully their plant-based selection continues to expand!

Mixed experiences, but overall hope to go Back. Had amazing breakfasts here twice. Outstanding veggie omelets and great coffee. Also fun atmosphere. Came for lunch with a large group and it was a disaster — food didn’t come for several within the hour and they had to take it to go back to work. Hope that was an off day, but would never come again with a large group for lunch. Now the Moonrise bar is fantastic.

Solid breakfast. I had an omelet and my boyfriend had the eggs Benedict. Both were cooked well. My boyfriend specifically noted the good hollandaise sauce on this eggs. The waitress was very nice and very quick with our orders. Would recommend for breakfast if you are staying in the moonrise hotel. We also stopped here for drinks after checking in to the hotel, super late at night because our flight was delayed. Good beer selection and the bartender was also very nice. Would recommend.

We had an amazing dinner here. The four stars are for the price not the food. The atmosphere is fun yet sophisticated. The management is top tier. The drinks are reasonably priced, and the food is awesome but pricey. I had the pretzel app, the grilled cheese and tomato bisque. The bisque was knock your socks off great!!! My bf had the stuffed zucchini and loved it. If someone payed for it Id be there in a second.

We had a great Fourth of July stay-cation at the Moonrise Hotel — viewing fireworks all over the city from the rooftop bar until the wee hours of the morning! Topped off our mini-vacation with brunch at the Eclipse restaurant. I enjoyed the inventive and flavorful Felafel Benedict while hubby had a yummy omelet. And we got $ 25 off courtesy of the hotel for buying the Fourth of July VIP package. Also came with valet parking and $ 20 of drinks! Sweet!!! Can’t wait a while year to come back so you’ll see us back for drinks on the rooftop all summer!

I was SO excited to have our anniversary dinner here! It looked absolutely amazing from their website! I made a reservation a month in advance. The day before someone from the restaurant called me to confirm. The day of the reservation I received an email and a text. I thought this was a sure sign they would be packed! We arrived early thinking we’d have a drink on the rooftop that we couldn’t wait to experience in person. Instead, we were seated right away, which was fine. There were only 2 other tables of people and we were seated directly next to one of the occupied tables where the people were talking very loudly. Our table was a very small 2 top against the wall. We noticed that there were really cute tables in front next to the window. I had put in the comment section of the reservation request that it was a special occasion. We just figured that maybe people were coming for those table, but no one did from 7:30 — 8:30 when we were there for dinner. Guess we should have asked to move. We joked that the reason we received so many confirmations for our reservation is because they wanted to ensure they had the 3 tables of people that Saturday night! The food was so over priced and not very good. Our orders included cheese puffs as an app. We expected to see large, baked cheese balls, but what they served came in a small bowl and there were tiny mushroom looking objects that tasted somewhat like a pretzel with shredded cheese mixed in that was barely melted. We each only ate one of those, but they did take them off the bill after the server asked if there was something wrong with them. We had a salad that was ok, nothing special, and our entrees included the herb chicken and salmon. We’re not huge eaters by any means, but these were just so-so sized portions and really didn’t come with much of anything. So, to sum it up, it was somewhat of an odd experience in a basically empty restaurant with sub par food that was expensive. The rooftop, however, was wonderful! Everything from the furniture to the view was spectacular! It was so crowded we had to stand the entire time. We will go back again, only earlier and only for the rooftop bar!

This is a review for the bar in the Eclipse Restaurant only. Stopped by after dinner with a large group for drinks at the bar last night. Charlie was the only bartender and he was QUICK at taking care of all of the drink orders. The drink menu had just been updated for the season, so all of the drinks were new to him, but he executed each complex drink with speed and skill. I had the«Sweet Ankle Tatt» cocktail made with tequila, grenadine, lime juice, pear, and ginger. Wonderful! You could taste every flavor– sweet and refreshing on a hot night. I also had the 90210 cocktail– kinda tasted like a piña colada but with more going on since there was both vodka and Pisco mixed with the pineapple and coconut. Another drink that screams«summer!»

I want to clarify by saying that Eclipse is still first and foremost a great bar in St. Louis. It’s pretty much the same as the Moonrise room on the top floor, just on the main floor. However, I came here recently for a work breakfast and it was way better than your typical hotel food. First off, you’re at a boutique hotel so the service is amazing. The staff treat you like royalty and really know the meaning of customer service. Their breakfast menu is simple and spot on. I went with the breakfast burrito, tea, and a side of bacon. The tea is your typical bagged tea but the food was above and beyond for a hotel. The burrito was cooked and wrapped perfectly with plenty of egg, peppers, chorizo, and cheese. On top of that, the bacon was one of the most thick cut bacon I’ve ever had. Soooo good. Who would have thought Eclipse has a great breakfast?

Excellent breakfast! With Eclipse being attached to a hotel, going in I was a little concerned about the quality. My experience with restaurants attached to hotels has not been good in the past, but Eclipse has totally changed my opinion. Our breakfast started out with a spicy and flavorful Bloody Mary. I enjoyed a Three Egg Omelet with bacon, onion and pepper jack cheese. I’m trying to go low carb, so our server was very accommodating and allowed me to substitute my side of hash browns with asparagus. My omelet was fluffy, filled with the bacon and onion and had the cheese melted and poured on top. It was a delightful twist, to the typical cheese inside. My dining partner enjoyed Eggs Benedict with asparagus and a side of Hash Browns. For a hotel and only $ 9, this was an impressive Eggs Benedict. We both enjoyed the asparagus, it was done to perfection. Butter, a dash of salt and steamed to a perfect snap. The Hash Browns were served crispy, my favorite way. I had to be strong and stay low-carb. Good friendly service, great food and free valet parking makes Eclipse worthy of my Breakfast, Bloody Mary and Benedict list.

I went here today for a private party, so I can’t speak for the whole menu, but of the selections we were given, I was very happy with my entrée. I got an omlette with hash browns and sausage on the side and everything was delicious! My brother got a breakfast burrito, and I stole a bite and would have been equally satisfied with that. The atmosphere of the Eclipse is really neat and unique! It’s retro-space themed, and it kind of makes you feel like you are part of the old TV show Meet the Jetsons. Something totally different from the norm, which I enjoyed. The three star rating comes from the service. They were a little slow at refilling drinks and making sure we had everything we needed. Additionally, about half our group got their food 30 min earlier than the rest and were basically finished with the meal as the other half started.

Somewhere between 4 and 5 stars. It’s a great space attached to a beautiful boutique hotel on the Loop. Décor /cleanliness: 5⁄5(everything was perfect, comfy booths, small tear on seat cushion, moon theme was pretty cool) Atmosphere: 5⁄5(Casual, relaxed) Service: 3.5÷5(Friendly, nice, could have been a tad faster) Side Salad: 5⁄5 on both greens and Caesar salads, large portions for a side Crawfish Bites: 4⁄5(only docking a point because $ 7 is about $ 1 too much for only 4 pieces, but they were very tasty) Grilled Cheese: 4⁄5 Excellent!!! with bacon and apple slices, hold the onions, would have preferred slightly less thick bread, description said thick bread but man this was thick. See the pictures. I also had the scallops here on a previous visit and a Chopin vodka martini, both were 5/5, during dinner.
