Went here on a Tuesday night for a Happy Hour celebrating a friends birthday. Note, you have to sit upstairs for the Happy Hour(wish we could have sat outside). They had great cocktails on special. I got the Gin Gimlet and it was delicious! We also used Unilocal to check in and got edamame hummus which which SO good. We had a great server, Jim, who took care of us with prompt service and a good food and drink suggestions. He even informed us about the Unilocal check-in so we could get the free appetizer. Since it was my friends birthday he also gave us a birthday shot. He was fantastic and made our short time there very enjoyable. This Drunken Fish location is also in a prime spot. Definitely put it on your list of places to check out if you are hanging in the CWE.

We had Haley as our waitress and she was super nice and treated us very well! We would definitely come back and ask for Haley again! We ordered 4 rolls and an appetizer and all the food came out quickly and correctly! The cocktails are amazing!

A group of girlfriends and I were jonesing for sushi and since the weather has been so wonderful we decided the Drunken Fish patio would be perfect. The hostess was super friendly and we were seated quickly. Joey was our server and he is THEBEST! Quick with drinks, our food, and water. We ordered several rolls and appetizers and everything was great. I hadn’t been here in a few years, but will definitely be back soon. Great experience overall!

came here with a friend from out of town(had been before as well) and was very impressed by not only the food but also the service. our waitresses name was ilana i believe and was very helpful and accommodating with my friends allergy and recommendations for us to eat, pointing me towards the rolls including crab which i LOVED. best sushi service in stl!

The sushi here is good. I would give the location a a five star because it’s located right in the heart of Central West End. The sushi didn’t wow me or anything but, if you want to people watch while dipping California rolls in wasabi then this is the place for you. Also, the female waiters here are beautiful.

The service was great, the sushi was great, and our food came out quickly. There was someone smoking outside in a non-smoking area and the manager kindly asked him to leave before we even complained. The only downside of this restaurant is the outside seating-the tables are on slanted concrete, and it’s a bit awkward.

We were seated upstairs. It was dark and felt like we were eating in an old gym. The sushi was good. Willing to give it another try-perhaps downstairs.

I know that Drunken Fish is a thing in St. Louis, and everyone loves it… but. I have had better… A lot better for a much lower price The sushi is fine. not great. The drinks are okay. They are the can’t taste the alcohol aka where is my buzz kind of drinks. If you have friends or family that are weary of mom and pop restaurants, but like to go to ethnic places because it makes them feel more cultured. this may be the place for them. It fits well in the corporate mold. Not true Japanese food. A C+ imitation at best.

UThe sushi is average. The staff is nice but I ran out of water often(and that was all I was drinking.) We did not have to wait. Sat outside on a great patio in the heart of the CWE. Our server knew the updated drink menu and had recommendations. I had a free appetizer from my Unilocal check-in(I didn’t know) but because my friend had won a free dessert due to the drink she selected, we couldn’t use both. I was here on a Sunday at lunch time. The bathroom doors didn’t lock. I’m glad they had paper towels but they were on the roll sitting on the counter and not in the holder. No big deal to me, just passing on information. We asked for water with lemon the lemons were forgotten. We had to ask for them again. She messed up how we were dividing the check.

First time here with the coworkers, was pretty fun. The lunch specials seem OK price wise, but I would have preferred more food for the price. Check in for free appetizer, the edamame and hummus dip was nice but they don’t give enough wontons. The special rolls were like 15 with soup or salad and the classic rolls were like 2 for 10 so it’s totally worth it for a lunch outing.

First, I love Drunken Fish. The food is phenomenal. I recommend the Combination Fried Rice, Deep Fried Philly Roll, Spicy Eskimo Roll, and the Chocolate Cake for dessert. I never leave this place hungry… or sober for that matter. The cocktail list is also amazing. Try the Mr. Miyagi(which is also on happy hour special.) If you can, you should most definitely request Joey as your server… he has been mine multiple times now and I love that guy! He’s attentive, funny, entertaining, and has great suggestions if you get stuck on a menu decision. He also sings some mean karaōke. Ask for him next time you go! Enjoy!

Great sushi deals and happy hours! I prefer the enjoy the white tiger roll– but that’s nothing compared to the Sake! On a more personal note, Joey served me recently and did a great job. His jokes were mediocre but his service was outstanding. It’s as if he already knew what I wanted even before I could order it. Make sure to ask for him when you get there… he’ll be waiting with some sake and a smile! Thanks Joey!

Love the CWE fish!!! I have been to the others but always come back to this one. Good food, good space, grate atmosphere!!! Love the food. It’s very American style sushi but defiantly my favorite place to get that. The edamame hummus is the best, it’s a must every time. And the cheese cake, wow, love the strawberry and the apple. The lunch deals are really good deals, and there’s a punch card. Over all not authentic but the best American style sushi I have had and so many ways to get a deal.

One of the best date/girl’s night locations in Maryland heights! This place is busy whenever I come! I see a lot of young couples/dates/girls nights/group dates etc, the ambiance is really intimate. dim lights, modern décor, i dont know how to describe it but i enjoy it. Service is great each time I’ve been there. The servers aren’t over-engagers(which i love), they know their menu and are able to help with questions and/or suggestions, they are knowledgeable on their drink options and specials. Join their drunken fish club and receive BOGO free coupons, and earn points I think? Check out their happy hour specials! My favorite roll is the mango roll

I like this place but the sushi is nothing I can’t get somewhere else. Nice atmosphere but the music is WAY too loud on a Saturday night. I was taken aback when I handed the waiter a $ 20 tip and told him to put it in his pocket but instead he told me they pool their tips so he couldn’t do that. Being someone who workd my way through college by waiting tables — I don’t think this system is fair and therefore, I will not patronize this establishment again. If the food was outstanding, I’d do take out but … it’s just good — nothing special,

New cocktails?! How did I not know this zen gimlet is cucumber vodka, so yummy and refreshing. Happy hour is from 4pm-6pm. I also learned from Sam, the catering manager, that they had catering. Sushi that caters. Great for happy hour. Came with a group of girls, we had a blast. Thanks for the service!

So we tried a bunch of new drinks tonight at happy hour with the girls… My thoughts : Pom 75 is 5⁄5 Raz lemonade — 4⁄5 Hibiscus blossom — 2⁄5(not for me) Sake punch — 4−5÷5 Farrah and Joe are amazing. Can’t wait to come back.

I love going back to restaurants to see if they still measure up or exceed my previous rating. Drunken Fish has been consistently good. Jim, Aaron and later Samantha were behind the bar serving up drinks and conversation. As I said before, check in with Unilocal and get a free edamame hummus. They usually just have this dish at lunch time. Since we just recently started dieting we stuck with basics. Lettuce wraps for Majordomo and the sushi(St. Louis roll) for me. Both were delicious. No dessert tonight — we started a diet but if I did get dessert, it would have been the fried cheesecake again. Yes, I’ll come back here again. Dinner last night at Drunken Fish was a very enjoyable meal. George behind the bar took great care of us. The place wasn’t crowded when we sat down, but when we left it was packed. A nice place for a date, but not an intimate space. After ordering our cocktails, I checked in with Unilocal and found that we could get a free edamame hummus. George took care of that. I would have never ordered edamame hummus, but it was delicious. It came with large tortilla chips for dipping. After the hummus, we decided to share the Japanese chicken wings. Even though we were sharing, we decided on the small order(10) and they were good. For dinner, Mike decided on the lettuce wraps. I normally always order the Wonder Woman Roll, but this time I chose the tuna shashimi. Both meals were very good. Mike actually got enough lettuce to make the wraps. My shashimi was good but I think I’ll just go with sushi next time. For dessert, we ordered the fried strawberry cheesecake. That was wonderful. Would I go back? Yes, of course.

This was my first time having sushi at Drunken Fish and it was so good, my dining partner and I ordered more! We had two Rainbow Rolls between us and I snagged some steak fried rice from someone else at my table. It was all very delicious and our waiter was very courteous and quick. My only con was my drink and that’s more me than them. I had a Kung-Fu Kick(lemon and ginger) and it just wasn’t that good. I don’t think the flavors went well together, but it just could be me. :) I’ll for sure keep this place in mind during my next sushi craving!

Best sushi I’ve had outside of NYC. Service was phenomenal and bartender was out of this world! Joe makes the best drinks, Cat brings the humor, Stephen has the best stories and Aaron is the guy to talk to about flair. All in all, awesome vibe, amazing food and drinks and great people — what more do you want on a Saturday night? #ThanksGeorge!

Came to St. Louis to visit a friend and had a coupon for DF! Decided to come in and so glad we did! The food was wonderful!!! I ordered the crispy roll and it was delicious! I also ordered the grilled asparagus — it was on point! Best asparagus I’ve ever had! We ordered lettuce wraps and they were juicy and great to start our meal. This place definitely didn’t disappoint and next time we are in town we are coming here! Only draw back, we couldn’t combine our Unilocal check-in offer with a coupon we had.

Disclaimer: I go to Drunken Fish a lot. Like, once a week(only to the Central West End location). As a poor post-grad, I really appreciate the different deals that Drunken Fish promotes(Happy Hours, Groupons, etc.). Even going as often as we do, we have never had a poor experience. The sushi is always great, service always efficient, and their management team is always present on the floor focused on quality assurance. Sometimes, when you go to places for a deal, you can tell the wait staff is so «not about» it. I’ve never been treated differently for bringing in a Groupon, and always get top notch service. Favorite Rolls: White Tiger, Caterpillar Roll, Spicy Tuna. Favorite Drink: Mr. Miyagi

Drunken Fish has dependable sushi for a decent price. The fish is quite fresh, especially when you consider that St. Louis is in the middle of the county. I have yet to have a sushi roll here that I didn’t like. They also have a decent alcohol selection from sake to beer to wine to liquor and knowledgeable bartenders to help you pick just what you will like. Consider one of their fishbowl drinks but def share it or have a safe ride home. This is a great place to have happy hour drinks with friends or co-workers or a night out with your significant other.

A roach crawled out of one of our plates tonight, manager never apologized, took him 3x trying to discount our bill when we finally refused to pay… tried to make us «happy» by a round of sake shots,(already promised due to it being my cousin birthday) …I’m still in shock… Zachary the assistant manager was no help, joe is the general manager and I will be contacting him tomorrow.

Yay happy hour — this is definitely one of the best places to go for happy hour in STL!!! My other favorite time to this this place is 10 till closing.(They keep Happy hour prices all the time) and it’s great for grabbing some sushi when you need a late night snack.(Yes, I definitely stopped here quite a few nights I was working late. The prices are pretty reasonable — about $ 5 – 7 a roll. The restaurant never seems super crowded when you go during Happy hour, but yes — it gets PACKED during the regular dinner rush. I definitely cannot wait to come back soon. I really love this sushi place and highly recommend it!

I hate to be a Negative Nancy, but I really don’t like the Drunken Fish. To sum it up on once sentence: the Drunken Fish is corporate; it’s the Japanese version of an Olive Garden. The sushi is OK and the drinks are too sweet and not properly balanced with good liquor. On top of that, the whole place is sticky and loud and the service is mediocre at best.
