This place should work on better ventilation. From the moment you walk in its a like a thick wall of grease fire and you have to sit in it. When you leave you stink of it. You can even see the smoke and the room is so foggy. The food was okay, I have had better. The pad ke Mao isn’t even made with the traditional noodles. The flavor profile was lacking a bit. It wasn’t too flavorful. For being a Thai and Japanese restaurant, they don’t have boba milk teas. What the heck? But I have to say, the papaya salad will make me come for more. It will be via take out though.

I stopped at Fork & Stix for a quick lunch on Friday. I ordered a green tea and the khao soi. Khao soi is a northern Thai noodle soup with curry paste and coconut milk. The egg noodles, crispy noodles, and the broth were all excellent. Can we just talk about that broth for a moment? It’s sour and slightly spicy and very complex. I added some of the chili oil for a little extra spice. If I could leave there with a gallon of the broth I’d be a happy camper! I can’t think of any other soup I’d find more satisfying on a cold winter day. This dish is difficult to eat in a visually pleasing way and I’m glad I wasn’t on a date! You need to fill your spoon with broth, then use the chopsticks to add other items to your bite and then slurp it all up. Yum. The reason I go for 4 stars instead of 5 is the chicken. The chicken is the only component that made this dish less than perfect. I felt the chicken was under seasoned and very dry. Either way this is a busy little restaurant and they are doing Thai food right. The chicken won’t keep me away from that broth…

Tried something I could barely pronounce, enjoyed it nonetheless. A new and most welcomed entrant into the Saint Louis proper Thai cuisine. We were happy to find that on a busy Saturday night, our wait for a table at the seemingly small Fork & Stix was equally as small. It’s a traditional storefront property that has been converted into a great restaurant space. A space that is utilized quite well with booth seating that lines the north and south walls, with traditional large and small tables spread throughout the rest of the space. The south wall has a giant chalkboard where murals and other earthly quotes are scribbled all over. Once seating we were happy to enjoy a hot tea accompanied with self-serve bottles of water, the tea in particular was very good. Looking at the menu we elected to skip the appetizers but I noticed the table next to us had the Chicken Sateh which looked quite good. I went with the Pad Ka Prao and ordered it spicy, the waiter did warn me about the level of spice but I already knew the drill. My fiancé went with the Red Curry, not deterring far from recommended Thai food dishes. Both were excellent and offered healthy rations of vegetables and meat as well, you have your choice of pork, chicken, and or straight veggie. My only complaint is that mine had a little too much onion and I found my self sifting through them to get to the rest of the dish. Other than that, we enjoyed our overall experience and will be back to sample more dishes. I saw many entrees that were intriguing so I feel it’s worth it to return.

Ate there Friday night after a short wait. Delicious mom and pop home style. The 4 of us each ordered different apps and entrees and sampled all around. EVERYDISH was delicious. Service was amazingly quick. I would have given 5 stars except that there was a large amount of smoke from the kitchen in the air that night. Seemed like they needed better ventilation. But that won’t keep us from coming back again and again!

Really love quite a few dishes here, but go for the weird sounding ones that you’ve never heard of. It’s more of a mom n pop joint and so the best dishes are the more authentic ones that aren’t Americanized and are great on flavor – they taste deliciously homemade! That being said, I find their pad thai and fried rice pretty bland and typical. But their hung leh curry, khao soi, tam yum soup(the medium is seriously spicy, heads up) and the muu ping skewers are to die for. Their thai iced tea also isn’t overly sweet which I appreciate. I would definitely keep coming back here for an authentic Thai meal!

Please get the khao– soi. You won’t be sorry I promise. It is amazing. Although you’ll be hungry 4 hours later, kinda like phở. Beer selection is also great. Staff is very friendly.

This is still a sweet spot in my heart. The owner is super nice and thi sis a cute neighborhood restaurant. We grab take out from here all the time and it is a wonderful place to drop in and have a bite too. The last few times we went here the portions were good. we love Fork and Stix!

I love their appetizers. Their tom yum soup is possibly the best I’ve had anywhere. You can adjust the spiciness.

Best Thai place in St Louis proper :) Love the appetizers: — green chili sauce — cream cheese Thai stix — papaya salad — tom yum soup(light but still flavorful) The entrees: — beef pad ka prao — egg noodle soup — hung leh curry*(this was my favorite! The ginger in the sauce was phenomenal) Service was prompt and friendly. Tip was included for our group of five. Overall: definitely will come back :)

Over the years, Fork and Stix has been consistently fantastic, and is always on top of my list of places to bring guests. The Khao Soi is always extremely well-received. I had it recently and it’s better than ever. Pair that with some cold iced thai tea w/lime and you’re having one of the best(and reasonably priced) food experiences you can find around these parts. Don’t be afraid to add some of the thai red pepper paste if you like an extra kick. I’d highly suggest the beef salad as a starter. The fish sauce and other spices give the beef a powerful flavor punch, and the mint is a great paring. Even ordinary things like crispy spring rolls are elevated to something great here. I also enjoy the nice cozy atmosphere of this place. It’s all good here.

Fork and Stix is off the beaten path but it appeared people were not having any trouble finding it. We were greeted when we walked in the door and quickly seated. The menu isn’t large, but there were still plenty of items to choose from. To start, we shared the Thai Stix. Crab and cream cheese wrapped in a crispy fried roll with chili sauce. They were delicious — like a crab Rangoon but a better way to serve it. For our entrée, Mike chose the green curry and I picked the stir fried rice with beef. The green curry was delicious and mild. When my stir fry came I thought they were a little chintzy with the beef but after diving in, I realized it was throughout the dish. Very good. Prices are very reasonable and portions are a good size. The service was very good also. I would definitely come back here again.

Fork & Stix is tucked away in a tight corner off of Delmar and Rosedale. I mean unless you know it’s there; you won’t even know it’s there. Anywho, the Thai is decent, nothing I’d really rave over but it’s certainly not the worst I’ve had in the area either. What I did enjoy was the pleasant service and relaxing ambiance. Honestly, the name alone drew me in but I’m not rushing back for an encore. Enjoy, ~Christy

Excellent food. Great service. This is a quaint little restaurant off the loud loop. A great hideaway to enjoy amazing dishes and a nice atmosphere. The staff couldn’t be more polite and professional. The curry is an excellent choice and not too spicy, rather sweet and mildly spicy. The beef skewers are delicious. I’ll definitely be back!

Beef naam tok was quite good but would have liked a bit more lime flavor and cabbage. Red curry with chicken(medium spicy) was bland. It tasted like the curry base was water and not coconut milk. The khao soi with chicken was really interesting and flavorful. The addition of the crispy noodles really made the dish but I didn’t notice many pickled mustard greens in the curry. Also, it tasted a bit too sweet for my liking. Overall, a few promising dishes that would make me return.

So I’m pretty sure my life has just been changed by Fork & Stix. This entire time I thought I knew what Thai food was… tons of peanut sauce, salt, and sweet. Not to say I didn’t like it, but it just wasn’t my jam. After eating here my entire understanding of Thai food has changed… for the better. My friend, who knows Thai food way better than I do and is good friends with the owner, ordered for the both of us. On top of that, the biz owner also brought us a couple extra delicious dishes to sample. Since I didn’t do any of the ordering, I’m not sure everything we had. I know we had Crispy Spring Rolls, Muu Ping(pork skewers with sticky rice), a coconut curry dish that had tender bites of chicken, banana leaf soup(not on the menu), and a salad/noodle dish that I can’t remember the name of but was very good. Seriously everything was amazing but of course I have my favorites. Favorites: –Spring Rolls: they aren’t your typical spring roll and are more bite size but sooo good. They’re fried but not overly greasy and come with the perfect thai chili dipping sauce. –Muu Ping: AMAZING. Like, seriously could eat this every day. They’re pork skewers that are glazed with a sweet sauce that has a hint of spice –Sticky rice: because sticky rice is fun –Coconut curry dish: Super addicting. I put the sauce on some extra rice and savored each tender bite of chicken. The food is amazing, fresh, cheap and the service is quick and friendly. They really take care of their guests and make amazing food. I will be showing Fork & Stix off to all my thai-loving friends.

I went today for the first time at lunch and want to go back for dinner. It’s different Thai than I’m used to. They have khoa soi which is not offered at all Thai places. I love this dish overall but the dish here earns a 5 star rating! So good! I had mine with beef and the level of spiciness is perfect. We also started with the muu ping which was fantastic as well. I have missed my Asian cuisines since moving from Southern California a month ago. I’m happy to have found this place!

Its a small little place and off the main strip. You really have to know this place is here. Man, am I glad I’m in the know! Went here for a lunch, it was a beautiful day and sat outside. Such a small place with such great touches. I had pad thai(kinda my thang) and it was amazing! The appetizers, chicken satay and the dragon sticks were great. The sauces were great. I can’t speak for dessert since I had no room left, but I will be back! There are so many more things I would like to try and that sangria alone was worth a second trip!

Tucked on a side street in the loop, probably one of my favorite Northern Thai restaurants in all of STL. The only downsize is they do not have desserts. I need my Mango Sticky rice damn it!!! The menu is small, but I would almost prefer that. This is a place you can take someone on a casual date, order a few drinks, and head to Piccone for dessert. The other Thai restaurants have great food, but the ambiance isn’t anything special. 1) Busy and you will have to wait on a Friday/Saturday night. This place is small and difficult if you have a large party. They do not take reservations, but the turn over is fairly quick. What to eat? 1) Tum Yum Soup. Yes, just do it and the heat is amazing. The heat here is very true and medium for me is pretty spicy. 2) Papaya salad. This is to die for, but get a side of sticky rice with it. 3) Always get a thai ice tea if you are eating anything spicy. 4) I think any of the currys are better than the noodle dish. My fav. is the Chan Mai special — which is like a pork belly slowed cook curry. But, the green one is close! You will not have leftovers here, because one it’s so delicious and the portion are not large anyways. Just come here. The people are friendly, they split checks if you have a large group, and there is alcohol!

My first time for pad Thai. I have to say it was the best pad Thai I have ever had. But that means it was also the worst. Really the pad Thai was very good. I would love to try it again but not here. This is for god only knows one the«25 Best» in St. Louis. All lists are subjective but really? I liked the food. Service was beyond poor. I did not get what I ordered they just forgot to bring me my tum yum soup. They were serving the entrée when I realized I did not get my soup. To their credit they offered to bring the soup out but why at this point? I lose the freshness of the pad Thai as it waits for me to eat the soup. Nope. We all finished and waited and waited and waited for the check. This is a small place and turnover on tables must be critical to their success. People are standing around staring at us like«how dare you sit when your are finished»? I just want the check. So I get the check and the total bill came to $ 50.00 good value for three people. I put $ 100. bill in the folder and the server asked if I wanted change!!! I said yes I like to tip but not 50%. LOL!
