Went for dinner with 2 kids Overall — Way too $$$$, food too salty, service not great. Won’t be back. Environment — The space is really cool. Open floor plan and exposed ceiling. We were seated towards the back of the restaurant and could hear the chef expediting. Service — Our waiter was not very informative regarding the description of the menu. We had to flag him down several times for more water(to wash the salty food down). Food — We ordered the calamari which was so salty we could not finish it. I also noticed our order didn’t look like another order coming out of the kitchen. The pork meatballs were heavy and hard, but the polenta with the dish was very good. The diavolo pizza was overcooked. The ramen broth tasted like it had 100 beef bullion cubes melted in it. so salty. The corndog breading was good but the actual meat was too salty. My one son loved the chili soup(special of the night).

We have always enjoyed this place in the past. Live in the neighborhood and were excited to go there tonight. Waited 25 minutes at the bar and no one even glanced in our direction. Not even 10 people in the place. Got up and left due to the poor service.

Waited 20 minutes at the half empty bar with not even a glance from the bartender, didn’t even notice when we got up and left. Not a good look!

My husband and I visited this restaurant on 1÷30÷2016 at 5:30pm. There was only one other person in the place and numerous waiters standing around. It took our waiter 5 minutes before coming over to greet us(5 minutes doesn’t sound long, but try sitting in an empty dinning room for 5 minutes with 4 waiters standing around talking to one another and watching television…5 minutes is long). The menu is not impressive. Typical American dishes(fish, burger, pasta, pizza, and then«sushi») that are over priced. Don’t be fooled, there is no «sushi» bar at this restaurant. They have five rolls, nothing special. I ordered the shrimp tempura and while the presentation was nice, it was very dry(even with soy sauce) and tasted like rubber. I ate one sliver and was done. My husband ordered the burger, medium done. It came out medium rare. If our waiter had checked on us after our meals arrived, we would have returned both of our plates, but we only saw the waiter when it was time for our check. There are plenty of other great restaurants in the Central West End. Don’t waste your time or money at this place.

It’s been a while since I’ve been here, and I wasn’t overly impressed in my return visit. I think the concept of their menu is overwhelming and leads to awkward meals since they serve so many types of cuisine. The service was fine, but the food itself wasn’t great. I’ve had better pizza and calamari elsewhere. Also, I got a beet salad with goat cheese, which was a gigantic pile of beets with 4 pea sized pieces of goat cheese. Definitely won’t be rushing back or recommending any time soon. Not terrible, but there are better options for the price in the area.

Central Table is a chic restaurant and bar in Central West End, close to Barnes Hospital. Parking is a bit troublesome but there is a parking garage behind the restaurant and multiple valets close by(including the restaurant’s own valet). There is live music here which is also a plus. The drinks of Bar Paradigm are very imaginative and delicious! I had a liquid nitrogen rum and coke here at the Unilocal Summer Stunner event this year and my new favorite cocktail, the Arch Rival here last night. I was here yesterday for a birthday party and our large table was accommodated with excellent service and we were able to split the checks(there were about 12 of us). I had the burger which was large and had good flavor, however there was a very burnt portion of the strip of bacon on my burger which I was unable to eat. It came with huge seasoned potato wedges which were a little too hard to eat. All of us who ordered this dish all said that the wedges kind of «hurt» to eat. I still would return to Central Table to try the sushi. I had a piece of my friend’s California roll last night and it was large and a little heavy on cream cheese, but still good.

I am a big fan of the location and the space it self! It’s a nice place to meet one of someone who works in BJC over lunch! Service is fast and friendly. I didn’t feel that the menu has anything special. We tried the burger. It was average and under seasoned. The Cobb salad was good.

Ambience is great. Burger was good but Overpriced quality. Restaurant was at 50% capacity on a Saturday night but service and attention was still very slow. The«Cajun» fries are just giant potato wedges with seasoning dumped on it.

I checked this place out yesterday with my boyfriend. I had california roll and the ramen bowl. My boyfriend had the burger. The california roll was really good and actually substantial. Nom nom. The ramen bowl was delicious. The broth was savory and a little tangy and the pork belly was cooked to perfection. It was delicious. My boyfriend’s burger(I had a bite) was really good too. It was clear that the restaurant prepared the burger from scratch and it wasn’t unfrozen or something. It definitely looked and tasted fresh. Overall, it was really good I just wish that there were more people there. The restaurant was kind of empty. Obviously the restaurant can’t anything about that really but the food was really really good.

I wanted to like this venue, but the food is just terrible. I ordered a cobb salad, and I was so grossed out I could hardly touch it. First of all, the lettuce tasted old and fishy – like they left it out on the sushi bar all night. I did not eat any of the lettuce. That left me with chicken and avocado for my meal. The avocado was fine, but the chicken was rubbery and tasted processed. The meal grossed me out so badly I could never go back for that reason alone. But that wasn’t all. Another at the table ordered the Margherita pizza. She offered me some because she felt bad that I had nothing to eat. Bland. Not good. I did not want another piece. The other at the table ordered a half sandwich and soup. It did not even look appetizing. I did not bother asking to try it. I would never go back.

Before Unilocal’s Summer Stunner, I didn’t even know CT existed. But, after, it will be difficult to avoid, since I’m often so close. In fact, anyone who visits BJ Hospital should consider making CT a stop before, during, or after a business apt. or patient visit. It’s just a 60-second walk out the Siteman Center north door, and across the street(north) at the light. I stopped in Friday during noon hour, sat at the bar, and was treated like an old friend, even though I was just having a light lunch: Turkey Club & Slaw($ 9), and a glass of white wine, all very good! Hey, I even used my Unilocal check-in to get a bottle of water to keep me hydrated for afternoon appts. Thanks, Unilocal, for arranging the friendly perk. I’ll be back, for sure.

Came here for the Unilocal party — great spot. Will have to visit during normal business hours to get a feel for the regular routine and pleasures of the palate.

WARNINGABOUTDINNER: I’ve been here a few times for lunch and the food was fine, the service excellent, so I thought I’d have my wife’s birthday here. COMPLETEDISASTER. The waiter was an idiot. He would have had difficulty working the cash register at a Burger King. He got everything wrong and kept trying to take my plate while I was still eating. After the 3rd attempt to grab a plate I was actively eating from, I just waved him away with my chop sticks. Then he got in my face aggressive. I went straight to the manager. They comp’d my drinks and apologized. I WILLNEVERRETURN!!! I guess all the good staff is there just for lunch when the doctors and drug reps are around.

I have never been truly impressed by this place. It’s close enough to the hospital that quite a few of us will come for happy hour because the drinks are relatively cheap, but the food leaves much to be desired. The ambiance and style seems to be what we’re paying for as opposed to substance and quality; dressing up a plate of 8 dollar sushi does not in fact make it taste better. When they first opened I came her for lunch and tried their mac and cheese which again, was mediocre with limited seasoning and flavor. More recently I’ve given their shishito peppers a chance which are really good, but also don’t make a meal! They used to have a pita and spread at happy hour that was also pretty good but again, not enough food. Perhaps I should try some of their other offerings but at the price I would much rather go across the street or down the street for quality food that’s worth the price.

The ambiance and service were nice, but the place was EMPTY on a Saturday night with nice weather. I think it’s the food/prices… I wasn’t super impressed with anything — we ordered 3 appetizers, a wide range of entrees, and 2 desserts. The portions were small for the prices, my husband’s tortellini were cold, my ramen wasn’t made with ramen noodles(???) and the«pork belly» was more like undercooked bacon. My friends had fun and tasty cocktails, and their beer list was decent. I had wine! We should have stuck with drinks and appetizers and gone elsewhere for dinner. I have a hard time trusting places that serve so many different dishes– pizza, sushi, Italian pasta dishes? They should find an area to focus on and be the best, not be middling on so many things.

We went on a Saturday night. There were only a few other people. I am completely perplexed. May be it’s busier during the day? This place has great atmosphere, some of the best service I have had in a long time. I have no idea who he was, but the live entertainment was amazing. He had a great voice and a great repertoire. I had a burger. It was really tasty, cooked well, seasoned well. It came with a side of cajun«fries». These I didn’t love. They were potato wedges that I am fairly sure were baked and then seasoned, so they had an abundance of dry seasoning on them. I would have preferred actual fries. We also got a margherita pizza. That was super tasty as well. The valet parking was $ 3 and there is a self parking garage directly behind the restaurant.

$ 22 for a small piece of fried cod. It tasted great, but it was cod. No side dishes, no condiments, a couple pickles and some mustard smeared on the(slate?) plate… and it was COD. Moscow mule was watered down, hardly any alcohol. Best part was the guy in the corner singing Michael Jackson songs. Nice restroom! Won’t return

Went back for happy hour, awesome again. We went at the same time, 4:30ish, and it was nice and quiet. The kitchen was really nice and allowed us to order off the dinner menu even though they don’t start serving until 5pm. John was our bartender, he was great and really attentive. They must really put an emphasis on service here, because I noticed them having team meetings and coordinating things as we were relaxing. The hostess was really nice too and told us that they validate for the parking garage off of forest park and euclid after 5pm. FYI, Valet starts at 5pm, Friday-Sunday.

This was our second visit to Central Table, both times with the D’s. This time we were accompanied by Aunt Susan who happened to be in town. We again had a very good meal and overall experience. There is valet parking out front for a mere $ 4. We took three bottles of wine(only opened two) and corkage is $ 15. They provided a new glass for each bottle, which is nice. I had understood from a couple of sources that they have good sushi. I ordered three orders of nigiri; tuna, yellowtail and scallops to share with Aunt Susan. Each order is two pieces. I am not qualified to judge sushi, but I would certainly do this again. The yellowtail in particular was excellent. Ms T likes her sushi better if it is chicken and if it is cooked. The D’s shared a Spicy Tuna roll and appeared to enjoy it. The D’s each ordered and really enjoyed the Butternut Squash Ravioli. Ms T and Aunt Susan both had a Grouper Special of the evening and raved about it. I chose the Pappardelle Bolognese. This was excellent. I remembered it from the previous visit when another person in our group had it. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce is flavorful and hearty without being heavy. This was a very nice evening of good food and service. Central Table remains on my list of places to return to. My experiences have been better than the average three star rating.

I came here for dinner on a Wednesday night and the place was deserted. It’s a huge hall, so even if half the tables were full it would probably look empty, but there were only 3 tables on the night that I dined. Anyway, our waiter and service was fine and the food came out promptly which was nice. I will say, I went with the margarita pizza for dinner and was really disappointed. It was thin crust as margarita should be, but the entire pizza was so soggy and didn’t really have a great taste. I’m not sure how you can mess up a margarita pizza but it just wasn’t good. I would assume they use similar crusts on all the pizza, so I’d recommend to avoid the pizzas if you don’t want a soggy pizza. The overall restaurant was decorated well and they are going for a little big of a classier restaurant(probably a lot of doctors/hospital staff eating here during the day).

I had dinner here a couple weeks ago w/my S.O. and it was excellent! I had the Diavolo pizza which comes with: spicy tomatoes, roasted garlic, heritage pork sausage, mozzarella. This pizza was unique and delicious. The crust was thin but perfectly fluffy/doughy and was made with amazingly fresh ingredients. You could tell it was right out of the brick oven! The sauce and cheese lightly sat on the top of the pizza. I ate some of it with a fork and knife just so it didn’t slide onto my chin. The sauce was amazing! It was quite spicy, for pizza, but this made it quite addicting. They also had fresh chunks of tomatoes in it… soooo good. The pork sausage, cheese, and roasted garlic all meshed perfectly with this doughy creation. My counterpart had sushi which I sampled. I don’t remember which roll it was but it had salmon in it and it was one of the most supple sushi rolls I have ever bitten into. It was sooo good. I like sushi, but I rarely am ever in the mood for a whole meal of it. Usually I just wan a few bites. However, this sushi was sooo good, I might consider changing my mind. RFT gave them best sushi for 2013 and now I understand why. If you haven’t been, Central Table is a large space and has a pretty diverse menu. I highly recommend checking it out for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They have a pretty cool bar area, too. And how many places serve sushi AND pizza? Sounds like a good deal to me.

I have been here for two brunches so far, so I’m commenting on that menu only. It’s table service for brunchtime: Breakfast Pizza — 4.5÷5(very large, could have been shared among more than one person) Brioche Toast w/butter and preserves — 5⁄5(soooo good) Side of Bacon — 5⁄5(extra thick and super tasty, some of the best I’ve ever had) Mimosa — 4⁄5(pretty tasty but $ 7 is high for me) Service — 3⁄5(we were served, our orders were correct, nothing special) Food was EXCELLENT, would have hoped service was up to the same level as the food to warrant the slightly higher prices. I do, however, want to come back and try so many things — sushi, burgers and sandwiches, desserts.

This place makes me feel like I am in high school again. If you stop by for Iunch, it has a very upscale cafeteria feel to it. Dinner here is a slightly different vibe. The place is decorated in a sleek, contemporary style. The unfinished ceiling and visible pipes make me feel as if I am in a warehouse.(I know it sounds strange, but it’s much prettier than I am able to describe. just check out some of the photos!) A group of us stopped by for an early dinner. Our server brought out a plate of focaccia with saluted tomatoes and Parmesan while we looked over the menu. A great start to our evening. Most of us ordered either pizza or sushi. Our server was extremely sweet and helped quite a bit with the explanations and gave us some amazing suggestions. I ordered and highly recommend the spicy scallop maki. Never had anything quite like it before. the sushi had just a little bit of a kick, nothing over powering, which really elevated my dish to a whole new level. Also, I can’t believe I am saying this, but I loved their wasabi. I asked our server to figure out if they added anything to it, but she told me it was just the same stuff they serve everywhere. I disagree — it was so much better. Maybe it’s just the raw scallops talking, but there was a slight sweetness to it. Kind of reminded me of honey? Okay, now I have clearly had way too much raw fish… Anyway, I really recommend this place if you have picky eaters in the group. I’m sure everybody can find something they’ll love.
