I have now revisited BBC over & over again, as it is right around the corner from my office. I stand by my previous review, except to add that Alex the manager is really great and makes sure you have a great experience. If you like the hookah experience, try a shot of vodka in the shisha ;) The saki is pretty good, my new fav there is the Thai wings. Try them!(They no longer carry the sushi :/)

This is a cool little spot. I’ve never eaten here before but I’ve been here a few times to do hookah and have drinks. This space is kind of small but the music is really good and the prices are decent for the drinks and hookah. They also have $ 1 saki shots!

Great sushi rolls and their kitchen is open late! They also have a decent wine menu… that’s very reasonable priced! The $ 18 Merlot is a favorite of mine and my friends. The hookah offerings are pretty standard and the service is alright, but can get a bit slow when they are busy. Especially when you need new coals on on your hookah.

I went here with a friend and her boyfriend to grab a bite, some drinks, and of course, chill with some hookah. This was my first time here and overall, it was a good night. The atmosphere gave me a vibe of a bunch of things… dance party, college hangout, slinky lounge… but it was also decorated like a proper sushi bar with Asian influence everywhere. The clientele are a bit younger — definitely some students coming in and enjoying themselves and it was a little loud, but not obnoxiously so. They should invest in another bathroom, as I had to wait to use the single-person restroom and the only place to stand to wait is in the main highway near the kitchen, so service personnel were constantly dodging around me to get things done. The service was okay. The hostess was very friendly and the chef came out to talk to us, in addition to our regular waiter coming around every so often. They had a separate person walking around attending to everyone’s hookah coals so there were plenty of people to wait on us, even if it felt like we didn’t have a go-to person for everything we needed. The drink and wine prices are very reasonable. We try to keep our wine bottles around $ 30 and we were able to beat that, so definitely will be returning, largely because of that. Their happy hour specials also look VERY appealing, if I can get to CWE that early on Fridays. The sushi was tasty — nothing outlandish, and I’m glad they have similar(not quite the same) as Drunken Fish(ie: something of a White Tiger knock-off). Considering my love for both hookah and sushi(at decent prices), I want to come back. They might make the list of my regular go-to spots in future for their value.

Stopped here after getting drinks in the CWE. They were no longer selling hookahs, which was a shame, as it seemed to be pretty popular, and a lot less expensive than the places on the loop. The service is meh, but the drinks were very strong and reasonably priced. Would be back for a night cap.

I ordered their sushi for takeout. Horrible. Don’t do it. Judging from all of the pics uploaded of their sushi, I got screwed over. I pretty much paid $ 13 for what should have been a $ 7 roll. It was my first time there and I wont be back.

While I agree with some other posters that the service/management could be improved and the nighttime ambiance can be odd, this is a great place if you know what to expect. It is a hookah lounge that serves sushi and has a bar. The name is sort of misleading. If you don’t like hookah, it’s probably not the place for you. I always come during happy hour and you CANNOT beat their happy hour prices. Amazing sushi rolls for $ 5 bucks, great assortment of discounted apps(the thai wings are amazing!), $ 10 hookah, and they have a daily all-day drink special. I always go on tuesdays for their appropriately strong $ 4 fishbowl margarita. They’ve improved quite a bit in the last few months so some older comments might not be as valid anymore. If you’re in to hookah and/or sushi, I’d recommend giving this place a try!

I hate to leave bad reviews for places, however I felt this place was not worth the cost.(I must add that I don’t eat sushi so keep that in mind with the food review.) The sushi looked very pretty but the people I was with said it was«meh». The spring rolls I got were not home made and I’m pretty sure that they were store bought and thrown in the oven. For $ 5 I can make them myself at home. The service was terrible. There were only 3 parties of 4 or less including us and we had to ask for more drinks when it was pretty clear that we were ready for more. The waiter also never refilled our waters, kind of a pet peeve of mine. The worst part was that the place added an 18% gratuity. I would totally understand if we were with 6 or more… we were only a party of 4. That was the real kicker and deciding factor to write this review.

Every time I come here it always relaxes me. They recently remodeled and play more lounge music. I have to admit, when they played ratchet music part of me minded but the other part was having too much of a good time and promptly grabbed that negative nancy side and shot her out back. I digress. Drinks are strong. Hookahs are smooth. Food is great. Try Tarza’s mix for hookah if you are feeling unsure about what to get. A mild mix that should settle well with anyone in your group new to hookah. Get some finger food. You will wish you had if you stayed late!

I have been to this bar multiple times I’m 19 and was not aware that it was 21+ till last night on my birthday… We all had plans to go here eat sushi and smoke hookah after the rude Asian lady told us to leave I told her about how I have been in there multiple times and no one has ever said anything about 21 + but they also should have their liquor license taken away bc they have served me alcohol multiple times. I dont know she just didn’t have to be a bitch about it

An ‘awesome’ place to hang out, relax with lounge music or chill with house and club music on weekends!

My last few visits have been exceptional dining experiences. I take back what I said about the waiter. Must’ve had him on a bad day. Ultimate Crunch and BBC Specials rolls for $ 5 each during happy hour. These were divine. Seriously CWE, check this sushi out. Supposedly they are going through some renovations in the neat future so expect the interior to be spruced up.

Came here twice for dinner. This was my first experience with hookah and I am glad it was here because I tried the Tamra mix… loved it… very girly. I like the combination of asian food, hookah and drinks. We tried the pineapple sake shots… yummy! I will admit it’s different… there is a DJ that comes in later in the evening to play music which I am not sure about. But he did play some decent music mixes. If it is your first time going there word of advice… if there is an open table, just sit and look for a waiter who is either wearing a white apron or black shirt. Don’t bother waiting for someone to seat you because they are just going to ask you where you would like to sit. The service can be a bit slow if they are busy but if you have a hookah, you will have someone checking up on you a lot. The staff are really nice and when they are not busy multi tasking very attentive.

BBC is my go to Hookah place. It has a chill, lounge-y atmosphere perfect for a chill night. Get the rose-mint, my favorite, the floral rose and light zing of mint complement each other perfectly. It has an outdoor patio perfect for observing CWE’s interesting crowds– from birthday party princesses tripping on their heels to homeless men carrying electric pianos. We came(relatively) early– 8:45PM and got seated immediately. Service is INCREDIBLE. We stayed 1.5 hrs and within the first 10 minutes, we got a coal change. And subsequently every 15 – 20 minutes the coal maestro came again. It is a little overpriced compared to the Lebanese place on CWE(Flavor mixing needs an extra dollar? Really??) I’m looking forward to spending more summer nights outside at BBC. Heard there’s a DJ on Fridays and things get a little cray– could be fun to check out!

My friend and I walk in and immediately see there is nowhere to sit. We look around for a couple minutes hoping maybe someone will get up, but to no avail. A server approaches us, confirms what we already know and walks away. As we were about to leave, two women sitting at a table for four ask us if we would like to sit with them. Score! After waiting for a good while, my friend manages to flag down a server for our hookah order. We get two drinks and the rose/mint flavored hookah. Another good 20 minutes goes by and we still don’t have our hookah. By this time, we have gotten to know both the party to our right and left rather well. We bonded over how horrible the service at BBC is. We finally get our hookah and chill out for maybe an hour. Occasionally someone came around to check our coals, but once our drinks were empty — they stayed that way. No one ever asked if we wanted another(at this point, we both would have said no, because we wanted to leave… but I digress). Once again, we had to flag down a server to get our check. I swear, you could walk out of this place without paying and no one would notice — the service is that bad.

My friend and I were looking for a good 21+ hookah bar in St. Louis and stumbled upon this hip location in the Central West End. We walked into a chic, fun bar and sat at the booths closest to the window to enjoy the sights and sounds of a weekend night in the CWE. We decided to try a hookah flavor combo by combining the strawberry and watermelon flavors. The combination was delicious and the hookah was very decently priced. I also ordered a Lemon Drop martini. The martini was delicious but also extremely weak. At the end of the night I was a bit disappointed to realize that I paid for expensive juice in a martini class. The wait staff is fantastic, however. They were constantly checking in to make sure our drinks and glasses of water were full, and they have a staff member who’s sole job is to replace hookah coals so you rarely have a dead coal. Also, the servers are extremely attractive which is definitely a perk! The best part of BBC Asian Bar & Café, however, is the awesome atmosphere. The atmosphere is perfect for chilling, smoking hookah, and enjoying a few drinks.

Every time I enter this place I am greeted with the kind staff. Drinks were amazing and I LOVE the kiwi mint hookah. I Love the relaxing atmosphere. My friends and I tend to go to this place when we just want to go somewhere to chill without a crazy loud crowd. The owner is also fun and awesome. She checked up on us more than once to make sure we were happy and everything was ok.

The girls and I arrive at CWE around 10:30 p.m.; BBC is packed! So packed that there’s people spilling out onto the sidewalk. Most of these people are a little buzzed and taking a smoking session. Heads up, some of these guys might slur«nifty» pickup lines. We’re told by the bartender that there wouldn’t be a hookah/space ready for another 30 – 40 mins. It’s all good. We walk around, hit up Coffee Cartel for some ice cream. Back at BBC. We were seated in a haste which is understandable because the waiters also have to tend to others. I understand. We ask for four cups of water twice about twenty minutes apart and never got them. We’re not in the Sahara desert and experiencing hypertonic dehydration so no one’s gonna blow a cap. The DJ was nice, and he played some songs that I requested. The lights and smoke made the atmosphere convivial and dreamy. Overall, it was an ohk experience. I’d probably return.

I don’t care if you don’t like smokey bars, you owe it to yourself to try out BBC Asian Bar & Café for the ambiance alone. I went with a group of friends at around 10pm when the place becomes, primarily, hookah bar. The odor in the place is mostly non-offensive, the noise level acceptable, the staff super attentive and friendly and the ambiance is FREAKIN’ AMAZING. Imagine the gentle sheen of hookah smoke(mostly non-offensive) crystallizing the laser beams that play hypnotically across the walls. I’ll admit the effect was somewhat disorienting at first, but quickly became not only novel, but soothing as the night and the stupor wore on. Like everything else, the music was first rate and was at a decibel level where conversation was possible without severe inner ear damage. Drinks were about $ 4 dollars a pop… which initially seems like highway robbery until you remember you’re in Saint Louis. I can’t speak to the food or wait service, but the night life and bartenders/waitresses were top notch.
