This place is casual, fun, really friendly staff and sources almost everything locally. The only downside is that it is small so prepare to wait during peak times. Their burgers are grass fed and ground in-house with local beef. Dressings and sides like chips are made in-house. Some really interesting burger choices. Trying to work my way through them all.

The wife and I were planning on eating in Historic St. Augustine, but decided against it due to the horrendous parking situation. Instead, we stumbled across this gem. First impression was fantastic. We were greeted and seated quickly and our server was at the table within a minute. After a very friendly greeting and a rundown on the menu and specials, we decided to try the wings. They were AMAZING! As an entrée I had the flank steak special, which was delicious and the wife had the original cruiser burger, which she raved about. Overall the food, service and atmosphere were top notch! Can’t wait to stop in again next time we are in the area.

The place was busy so we had to wait at least 20 minutes for a table. I think it’s worth the wait. The burgers were delicious! I had a hard time finishing my food. I love the house chips, they weren’t too salty and they were the right amount of crisp. Parking in St. Augustine is a little rough so we ended up just parking near the fort and walked across the bridge. Worth the walk!

Burger Benedict is one of my favorite meal items that exist — ANYWHERE! Love the theming and love the owner who is almost always there and very full of life and engaging(and somehow actually FITS the theming:) This place is is very good so it has become very busy, don’t be surprised by a wait in some case. Go here, you will love it!

Once a gas station, now a great little dinner with burgers, steak, fish, and more. The service was quick and friendly. The food was great. I’ve visited twice, this time having the not Yo mama’s meatloaf with slaw and creamed spinach. The sides were just OK, but the meatloaf was fantastic. One feature which I have tried is the jalapeño popper Burger. If you like burgers and you like poppers, you should try this.

Brittany our server was exceptional! She was very attentive, kind and genuinely interested in each customer. And the food was wonderful! We both had burgers and fries and homemade chips. The bread and desserts are made in house, the meat is grinded in house and everything was fresh and high quality. If in the area, definitely give them a try!

Thee greatest restaurant I’ve ever been to. Like, I’d consider moving from Orlando to eat here more often. I got the southern style fries chicken biscuit pot pie. It was incredible. This place has huge portions so plan accordingly. Unilocal is forcing me to write more, so here I go. One two three four. Did you know that an alligator can’t stick out it’s tongue? It’s true. Also, an ostriches eye is bigger than it’s brain. Oh good. I met the minimum character limit.

We are on vacation in Daytona beach and promised our girls a trip to the alligator farm. We arrived in St. Augustine at lunch time and didn’t want fast food, but wanted some good lunch food. I checked on Unilocal to see what was available and this looked like perfect food in the right location. We had six in our party and had to wait about ten minutes for a table. I thought it was odd that they gave us menus while we waited, but it actually was helpful. They invited us to hang out by the bar. The server there was absolutely delightful. We ordered a few local brews on tap and she served our kids beverages as well. My husband asked her a few things about the menu and that’s when we found out that the restaurant has actually been featured twice on the Food network. And it’s no surprise. The food and beverages are amazing. For appetizers, we ordered the fried green tomatoes and loaded homemade chips. We are not southerners so this was our first experience with fried green tomatoes and we loved them. The batter isn’t too thick so we could actually taste and experience the green tomatoes. The loaded chips were good, a bit heavy, but we expected that. My husband ordered the jalapeño burger and loved it so much that he’s determined to figure out how to replicate it at home. My father got the bunless burger Benedict and savored every bite. My mom and I tried to be healthy and split the Mediterranean salad and the Reuben rolls. The dip for the rolls had some spice, which we both liked, and the vinaigrette for the salad was light and perfect. Our girls both had the cheesy pasta, which was too much for them to finish. We all split a peanut butter bomb. It was so rich that we were glad we shared. We all agreed this was the perfect lunch spot. The food was excellent. The staff was friendly. Our server was the owner who was attentive and sweet. I wish we lived closer so we could eat our way through the menu. If we are ever in the neighborhood, we will be back.

Unfortunately, Gas joins the list of, «Restaurants I was SUPERSTOKED about going to, only to be incredibly let down.» A large group of my family dined at GAS and the sulky silence was incredibly awkward as everyone bit into their meal and no one remarked that they liked their food… I had picked the restaurant… great… Because I didn’t want to pay $ 14 for the Jalapeño Burger, I tried the more affordable Cuban Burger. The description sounded amazing! However, the burger was having a major identity crisis. I LOVE Burgers and I LOVE Cuban sandwiches. Together however… It was just a confusing marriage of flavors that did not gel well. The burger was edible and good enough to finish(once I added more mustard) but I would not recommend it to anyone else. My uncle ordered the same thing and felt similarly. The saving grace to GAS was the amazing service and the outstanding Reuben Spring Rolls!!! They really were delectable stuffed with cornbeef, sauerkraut and cheese. The outer fried batter was wonderfully crispy and chewy! Everyone LOVED them! The Coconut Pie was«okay» but not sweet enough. I did appreciate the toasted brulee topping however. I *would* give GAS another try in the future. The Reuben Spring Rolls were incredible and *SO* many positive reviews means *SOMETHING* at GAS must be good. I’ll try to go again when my husband can split that Stuffed Jalapeño Popper Burger!

This is easily one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Period. The place was pleasant the moment we walked in the door. Our server was attentive and HOLYHELL the food. So good. So, so, good. If you’re near by, go.

A great place in town. We are all the way from California and loved it. The owner — Lindy is great! Her personality is killer. She is so sweet and funny and engaging. The atmosphere is super cute. Now the food… beyond words great. Homemade fries — fried green pickles!!! Yum yum Swordfish for my hubs incredible with the slaw. Mini salads and black bean burger divine. Pork chop was so big! Black and blue burger — very good — cooked to perfection. And let’s talk about the desserts… We tried for of them… The best was the peanut butter bomb!

Because of the lack of awesome culinary establishments in Palm Coast(where we live) we like to travel to St Augustine. As a self professed beer geek I like to find a place with great beer and great food. Found it. The food here is amazing as is the beer selection.

Now I have heard about this place a while back. Even had a few Unilocaly friends tell me that I had to go eat here. So having some extra time today for lunch I wanted to take advantage. Then I buddy said let’s try someplace new. I looked on my Ye;p page and thought self you need to go to the Gas Place. So off we went up and over the bridge of loins and to Gas we went. The place is a lot smaller then it appears. They have a huge sitting/waiting area outside. Now I know why cause there are not many tables on the inside. So we sat and started going over the menu and my buddy knew exactly what he wanted. The jalapeño popper burger and I went with the slimming jerk chicken sandwich with slaw. Our server told us about the place and their methods of grinding their own meat for all of the burgers. That’s cool in my eyes since I have a grinder and use it too. Now the burger came out and it is huge maybe 2″ thick and it is fried. just like a mutant jalapeño popper. I did notice that this thing was cooked to medium temp just like he ordered it. My chicken was supposed to be walker’s wood jerk seasoned. Well having been to Jamaica many times they left a lot of it in the bottle. Jerk to me is suppose to be spicy and flavorful. This one had some descent flavors but not much heat. The pineapple really added a sweetness to the dish. In all it is a pretty good place and I probably will go back and try another dish. Maybe even a burger next time.

What an amazing joint! Food: amazing! We had the tomato soup to start, then moved on to the jalapeño popper burger and a regular burger. Both were DIVINE! Fries were super crispy and delicious as well! Staff: super friendly and helpful! Atmosphere: laid-back and fun! Prices: worth every penny!

So glad I gave GAS another chance. I had heard such great things about it so many times and to not have given it a fair shot the first time, I had to go back and try again. With only a dozen four top tables inside, GAS can get busy pretty quickly. But the staff is so laid back and keeps the people flowing that even when there is a small wait, it’s not really that bad. I was lucky to be have Lindy(the owner) as my server this visit; she makes everyone feel special and definitely adds to the ambience. This time I passed on the deviled eggs, which she was happy to hear as she was running low. I decided on the Kickin’ Crunch burger special with fries. The burger was cooked just the way I wanted it and it was so filling. I easily could have eaten that with no fries and been just fine for the rest of the day. With layers of jalapenos, potato chips and stuffed with cheese, I was surprised I ate every bite. From what I was able to glean, this is a regular appearance on their specials board and I would highly recommend it if you like to kick it up a notch. We don’t make it down to St. Aug very often these days, but my husband can’t wait for the day I want to go back. He’s been day-dreaming about this place for a while.

It’s finds like this that make me want to finally make an honest woman out of Unilocal and marry it. We were driving to the beach and were hungry. Since I’m a food brat, I insisted we take a detour to St Augustine and get real food, not highway junk. This place caught my eye and totally delivered. We ordered the Black & blue burger, the hot rod chicken sandwich & my daughter had a grilled cheese. My sandwich was insanely huge and sooooo gooood. They use all homemade fresh buns and gave me a side of blue cheese béchamel sauce. Whaaat. The beer selection is huge and I was amazed at their knowledge of each craft brew and excitement to tell me about them. I tried 2 local craft beers and loved them. Lastly the wait staff was so nice it was uncanny. My only complaint was the sweet potato fries are sprinkled with sugar, not salt. But that’s a personal preference thing.

Thanks fellow Unilocalers for a fun, friendly, and tasty find. The restaurant was 50s retro chic with bright red booths and gas inspired memorabilia. I can’t say enough positive things about the friendly service, from recommendations to refills to checking in just enough, all with a smile. And they knew the way to my heart… Diet Dr. Pepper on tap! I opted for the Easy Squeezy Grilled Cheesy, with cheddar and provolone with french fries. I needed some good comfort food that day! My husband got the fresh fish sandwich with homemade chips(definitely go for the malt vinegar). Both were great on homemade bread! He also loved the complimentary deviled eggs. They had bacon, so fellow veggies beware. We were stuffed and no room for dessert, but hopefully next time when we are in town. They looked really delicious! Glad we didn’t «pass gas» either!
