My wife and I were here last Sunday. It was our first time back since they moved. I was slightly worried but they delivered like usual. Our server was friendly and sweet without being annoying, I forget her name but she had a black cardigan with a patch sewed on the back. When we arrived it was sunny and mild out, so we sat outside. As we finished our first drinks the weather had turnt, with dark rain clouds rollin in. Another nice gal suggested we moved inside before they filled up and we took her up on the offer. So we left the chilled out patio for cozy seat in the bar. It was the perfect place to watch the storm roll in. One of the server/bartender? Turned down the lights just barely which made it so relaxing. Me and my wife split some delicious apps and had some drinks, the pickled pepper shrimp is freakin addictive. Service was great, food was killer, and drink selection was on point. Best restaurant in St. Augustine

This place made me so happy. I loved the décor, colors and the mood of this restaurant. Our waitress was so sweet and helped me narrow my choices down. I ended up getting the brisket posole, it was such a good southern comfort meal. My boyfriend got the meatloaf sandwich, I had a few bites of his, I hate meatloaf but I loved that sandwich. His meal also came with a salad which for a simple salad was very delicious and fresh. They also had a good drink menu, we probably shouldn’t have got as many beers as we did but we loved trying the different kinds. Also for a Friday night around 7:30 we walked right in!

Just finished a dish called Maque Choux. All I can say is it was outstanding. I would definitely order this again, incredibly tasty. My wife got the shrimp and grits, she was also very happy with it, although really not as good as mine.:).

Unfortunately was very disappointed in this place. Maybe they were understaffed but service was very slow. We were left with dirty appetizer dishes for close to half an hour. Pork was cooked to the point it was just destroyed and the shrimp smelled of ammonia. Worst of all the food tasted as if it had been cooked in old oil. Very sad as most farm to table concepts have great, fresh and simple food. The night we went this placed failed miserably. We ended up going to the Ice Plant after, which was fantastic.

Went on a Sunday afternoon with a group of 8. Waited about 30 minutes. Overall décor was nice and clean. Had the Southern Belle salad with mahi mahi which was amazingly delicious. Not things I would typically combine in a salad but I wouldn’t change a thing. Only disappointment was the Hummingbird I had to drink. Taste was good but when I finished it, two thirds of the glass was full of ice… which meant it was a pretty weak drink for $ 10. Would definitely go back for the food!

I went to the Floridian in January and I’ve been dreaming of going back ever since. The tempeh salad was the best tempeh I’ve ever had anywhere, before or since. Their menu is so varied that it’s sure to satisfy anyone, vegan — meat lovers. The challenge is deciding what to get! The service, we’ve noted, is not as impressive as the food, but still worth the five stars. I love the quirky décor and comfortable atmosphere as well. I will probably add more once I finally get to go back!

Best restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. Fun atmosphere, absolutely delicious food, and I love that everything is local, fresh and sustainable! I had the catch of the day sandwich on ciabatta bread with salad and it just melts in your mouth on the first bite. I had to fight my husband off it was so good! Highly recommend, we NEED more restaurants like this!

Yes!!! Let Kaitlin(our server) choose what you eat. Delicious apps, meal, and drink. Seriously good! Southern Gentleman cocktail. Fried green tomatoes, grit cakes, pickles shrimp apps. And the main course was just as terrific. At our table, we enjoyed the cornmeal encrusted tuna, brisket, tacos, mahi special… my mouth is still watering. Regret…no room for dessert. Service…spectacular. We dined outside. Didn’t feel rushed, but certainly attended to. It started to drizzle after our apps. The servers moved another umbrella over to cover our table of seven.

Atmosphere: large indoor seating and plenty of outdoor seats with fans(though still too hot in the summer). Clean and naturally decorated– lots of wood, mason jars, beachy decorations. Staff: our waitress seemed rushed and distracted at first but quickly warmed up to be nice and attentive. She knew all of the ingredients to assure our food was allergen-free. Food: gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, traditional southern… they have it all. The GF biscuit was delicious, and my husband liked the pork belly with it while I enjoyed the beet purée. The salads are huge and chocked full of goodies like corn poblano salsa, slaws, cornbread croutons, and more. The soup is hearty. Only down-side is it’s fairly pricy for lunch($ 100 with tip, 4 meals, 2 alcoholic drinks, and 2 teas).

So much better than we expected. We expected a quaint local place with so so service. We got amazing food with great service. I got the N’ Waffles; pulled pork and waffles. Now that is taking a good idea and making it better. The shrimp and grits are deconstructed with an amazing sauce. Great beer and cocktail selection. If you are in st Augustine, come to this place.

5 stars for the food and drink. A little pricey but good portion sizes and lots of flavor. Drinks were delicious and strong. Had a hard time choosing… menu was full of great options and I’d love to come back and try more next time I’m in town. 5 stars for the staff. Very friendly server. Order was taken, drinks arrived within minutes, food followed shortly behind. 5 stars for the atmosphere. Sat out on the front porch where it wasn’t too loud.

Overall 3.5 stars The service was good-3.5 star The fresh ingredients –3.5 star Menu-4 star The ambience 2.5 star –hipster and relaxed, but loud. I kept getting wiffs of cigarette smoke annoyingly. The server was good. The hostess and busser all worked well together. Price– $ 17-$ 29 for any entrees I was interested in. I think it should be listed as three«$» signs. My boo ordered the catch of the day sandwich-«very good, very well done… moist, flaky, blackened peppery crust. had crisp vegetables to go with it.» Ordered soup but got salad, so the bus person brought out the bean soup quickly. The soup itself was spicy. It was bean heavy and he would’ve preferred more sweet potatoes, he said. The service was good and the server brought our pup water.

Really loved it. We started with the Company’s Coming(fried green pickles and green tomatoes) which was great. We had the cornbread stack with tofu and it was great. The vegetarian options were delicious and I’m not sure why people didn’t like them. We also had shrimp tacos which was good. Service was quick and efficient. They had a good selection of local beers and craft beers. I would come by again and kind of wish we came here the next day for lunch.

I visited the Floridian on March 13th while on vacation. Myself and a friend sought refuge at the Floridian for dinner after having been caught in a down pour in St Augustine. We were soaked to the skin, and while other patrons were giving us sideways glances, the staff didn’t blink at our condition. In addition to that, the food was scrumptious. I started with the Fried Green Tomato Bruschetta, moved on to the Blackened Flounder with Curried Vegetables, finished with the Key Lime Cheesecake, and washed it all down with three glasses of an excellent Chardonnay. Everything was pure perfection. The Fried Tomato Bruschetta was crispy and not greasy on a bed of baby spinach and other accoutrements I don’t remember. The flounder was flakey, well seasoned, the curried vegetables perfectly seasoned. The Key Lime cheesecake melted in my mouth, achieving that balance between fluffy and creamy. The food was such a delight. Now I don’t know his name, but our waiter really went above and beyond. He pulled down blinds for us, and turned off two fans, because being wet to the skin as we were, we became chilled by the draft. Here again, he didn’t seem to care that we came in literally dripping with rainwater. He was attentive, made sure we had what we wanted, and that our drink were always full. Fabulous. Such a good meal. Thank you.

Came here right around lunch day on a Saturday and were quickly greeted and sat outside. Their patio outside is so charming and beautiful place to sit out on a sunny day– it did get a little hot though so try to snag a seat in the shade! Everything on the menu sounds delicious but we went with the shrimp po boy and their version of a Cuban. All the ingredients tasted very fresh and was served with a side salad with a delicious homemade vinaigrette. Only complaint was that the po boy was a little bread heavy but otherwise amazing! To drink they have a good selection of craft beers and cocktails. I got the beet and whiskey cocktail and it was extremely fresh with a little kick– yum! The food and atmosphere was amazing but wish the service matched up. Our waitress seldom came around and took at least 15 minutes to get a can of beer that we ordered. Oh well, still an awesome time!

The blacked flounder stacked cornbread was awesome. They also have a pretty good selection of deserts. I went with the bourbon Carmel custard and my son did the Carmel sea salt brownie.

If someone asks me about dinner in St. Augustine, the Floridian is easily my go to suggestion. The new location improves upon their initial location’s atmosphere and provides the essence of an eclectic Swamp House; Pineapple motifs provide tropical Key West tones, and the atmosphere has a bluegrass hospitality suitable to the farm to table restaurant. They also have a pretty dependable source of Mahi, which is awesome! The cocktail menu is a lot of fun! The Swamp Pony is actually named for the bones of a horse the discovered during the archaeological survey of their property, so that’s cool. I also appreciate the punch that their beer cocktail features. The Garden Gimlet is refreshing! Typically, the soups are all really good — I find myself calling sometimes just to ask what the soup is. So far, my all time favorite was a potato bisque that I’ve only had once. They also once did a black bean tomato that was pretty fantastic. Company’s Coming is a great appetizer to share since it includes Fried Green Tomatoes, Fried Pickles, House Pickled Veggies, Pimento Cheese and Bread. The Fried Green Tomato Bruschetta is probably the most fun out of the appetizers, and it really does not disappoint! I always find myself wanting the Georgia Cheese Board though, the Little Moo cheese they serve with Honey and Candied Pecans is delectable! The portion size, in comparison to other appetizers, of the Pimento Cheese Fritters seems a bit off. The Green Curry Bowl is a tremendous portion and they don’t skimp on the rice which is nice. The Fresco Burrito never disappoints when ordered with blackened fresh catch, and the Spicy Melt(also with fresh catch) really delivers on a craving for melty goodness. The Dixie Burger — both varieties — is awesome, especially when topped with pimento cheese. It’s also the best veggie burger in St. Augustine… Probably. The Meatloaf sandwhich though is a heart winning meal, it needs a good squish and cut in half before eating — but it’s perfect. The cornbread stack is also a favorite with blackened fresh catch. Their bourbon butterscotch pudding is a great way to end the night if you managed to save room for any dessert. The peanut butter cheesecake for the hungry is also not a bad idea.

We ordered the po boy and Cuban sandwich. They tasted pretty good, but there was a SPIDER crawling out of the salad! I almost put it on my fork! Also our server Tara was very slow and ignored us for 10 minutes after we sat down. The host lady /manager Lindy was great! She was doing the servers job and got our drinks, food, and even took care of the bill, yet the server gets the tip?! At least they took the dish with spider off of the bill.

I had high expectations for The Floridian. We decided to go in December when I was in town for the holidays. Overall, I would say I’m a fan, but I think they do need to sort out this«priority seating» policy as it feels almost like a reservation and I wouldn’t say that makes much sense in the way it is described on the website/phone. Basically we were told we HAD to select outdoor seating when we called ahead for priority seating as there was no way they had an spaces available for us at our estimated arrival time inside. We showed up and there were plenty of open tables indoors and the host told us we could absolutely have a seat indoors. My parents have returned since our visit and were told no priority seating available when they wanted it, so took a later timeslot and when they showed up were told they still needed to wait an hour. I think they really just need to do a traditional call ahead approach or forgo the whole thing. Now, on to the food… it is local and fresh. We started with the Fried Green Tomatoes and the toppings were great — nice texture and flavor and you get four on the plate, which was perfect for our family size. For my main course, I went for the ‘N Waffles — it was fine, but the waffles weren’t the promised crunchy(they were more soggy) and I think they could have put about 1⁄3 less syrup on the dish than they did. The flavor mixture was good and the portion more than healthy — I was able to take about half home as leftovers and it reheated fine. The atmosphere is nice — almost feels like you are eating at home with the homey feel.

I thought this was a great spot to grab lunch while my friend and I were visiting St. Augustine. The atmosphere is very much Craftsman style and warm. They offer various fishes including seafood, salads, and vegetarian options. I loved the shrimp po boy. They also have selections of wines, cocktails, and craft beers. My friend was somewhat disappointed that he paid $ 10+ for a small cocktail. Other than that, a great spot to check out in St. Augustine.

Came down to St. Augustine for a day trip, heard about the Floridian and decide to check it out. It is situated in a nice family style two-story house where the«patio» area is converted to an outside sitting area. The inside is very nicely decorated, painted walls and very bohemian. We got a drink at the bar while waiting to be seated A good list of alcoholic beverages is available with interesting refreshing cocktails, wide selections of wine and beers. The lunch menu was quite satisfying, however, not as much as the dinner menu. It has a number of sandwiches/burgers, salads and a couple entre options. They gave the option of substituting the daily fresh catch in the dishes for MP(market price). I tried the N’grits, which is cheesy polenta cakes with FL shrimp. It was an interesting dish with different elements, the cakes were done well, with a subtle yet tasty cheesy notions to them, the shrimps are nicely grilled and complimented the dish well Also, a number of good vegetarian/GF/vegan choices are available if that’s what you are looking for.

Two people recommended we go here, Vanessa T. And the guy that works at Bath Junkie. It is a new spot for the Floridian. It is super pretty turquoise with super Florida with tropical and citrus decorations. The outside patios, one covered and one not are super welcoming. The music is just chill reggae. We ordered the Fried Green Tomato Bruschetta and liked it a lot. I was hesitant. I didn’t want something I could order everywhere. They made it their own with the green tomato relish and ricotta, & aioli. It was a fun combination. So much flavor. I don’t think the toasted baguettes served with it are needed, and we didn’t eat them. It’s super dog friendly and chill here! Lots of fresh different offerings here and super helpful nice server.

LOVEDLOVEDLOVED The Floridian. We wanted a light, late lunch and Unilocal was practically screaming at us to try it. We obliged. And we are so glad we did. The atmosphere is so lovely. A huge patio and courtyard area was where we chose to dine, even with the chill in the air. The menu had so many wonderful sounding dishes that it was hard to pick just one, but I went with the FGT hoagie. My husband ordered the shrimp po-boy. We were totally impressed by the flavor and freshness of the food. Top notch quality on everything we had. The service was excellent and attentive and we never wanted for a water refill, despite how busy they were. We can’t wait to go back and try more dishes and possibly get a cocktail or two. The beer selection was awesome and they have a stocked bar as well. They live up to the Floridian name. It was a perfect experience!
