Wings at the candlelight are excellent staff is excellent nice restaurant and it’s just as good as the candlelight in Scarsdale New York I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes hot wings and the Chernobyl are hot !!!

Amazing buffalo wings! The hot was medium to me and the extra hot was just hot. They fry the wings connected at the joint so you have to commit to two at a time. Very saucy. The fries are standard frozen bagged fries.

I had heard nothing but glowing reviews about the wings at Candlelight, so the wife and I stopped in on a recent Friday night for dinner and drinks. We were greeted upon walking through the door and were able to snag a couple seats at the bar. I was super excited to hear we had made it in time for Happy Hour, and my wife was able to get a Bud Light draft for $ 2 and I got myself a Guinness for only $ 3. Can’t beat that deal! I was happy to see that the menu offered a lot else on top of wings(the wife isn’t a wing fan). Lots of great choices of burgers, sandwiches, salads, wings, and some great pub fare for watching sports. There’s plenty of seating available, not so much at the bar, but a lot of tables throughout the building, as well as some outdoor seating that would be great on a nice Florida summer evening. There were a few TV’s around the restaurant, so I’m sure you would be able to catch a game on the weekends, although the selection may not be as great as other places. The food and service were what made this place great on my visit, though. Of course I had to order some wings, and I got the wings dipped in the Hot Datil Sauce. Great choice of sauces and rubs to be had here. I also got a side of crinkle fries topped with chili and jalapeño cheese. I can’t believe how little I paid for a gargantuan side of chili cheese fries, and it was great, too! The fries were cooked just right, nice and crisp outside, the chili tasted homemade, and the jalapenos were freshly sliced into the cheese. The wings were also cooked perfectly, juicy and tender inside with a great crispy(not too crispy) skin, and the sauce was delicious, a great balance of hot and sweet. I was really impressed and have to say they lived up to the hype I had been hearing for so long. The wife ended up making her own burger, and was able to score some freshly crumbled blue cheese and bacon on top of a delicious patty with some fresh veggies. She raved about how delicious the burger was, and also was very happy with the side of waffle cut fries. We both completely cleared all our plates, and topped it off with a couple of beers. The price was very good for the amount of food we received. Saw some different reviews regarding service here– gotta say I don’t think«Surfer Guy» works here anymore. Everyone I saw was receiving good service, and we got great service at the bar. I think I saw the owner out walking around and talking with folks as well, asking about their meals. Overall, I had a great dinner here. Food was delicious, Happy Hour was awesome, service was great, and I enjoyed the atmosphere, it was very relaxing and enjoyable. I will definitely be back and watching some sports again soon!

Great wings and great service. Top notch for what you would expect from a sports bar.

I hate to give this review even one star. After sitting for 10 minutes and being ignored by the only two servers on the floor, we got up and walked to the door. One of the waitresses track is to the door and pleaded to be given a second chance. After reading other reviews on the site this place needs to fire«surfer dude» he is bad for business. He constantly ignored us.

So, with all the competition up and down this stretch of A1A, you have to have good food and provide great service. Unfortunately Candlelight offers neither. We stopped in to watch a college game on a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was about 60% full. However, it still took forever to get a drink. We actually watched the bartender pour about two pints of Guinness down the drain in his attempts to pour just one glass! It took 20 minutes to get that beer by the way. Our«surfer dude» waiter constantly wandered off without returning. So we often had empty beers. When he did show up, Instead of walking around our high top to set down own drinks, he just leaned across our table and handed things off! He never once walked around the table to set things down properly. The food: my $ 8.00 plus burger was cooked to the wrong temp and was tiny for the money. The fries were a nasty cheap Cysco brand crinkle cut and cold when served! We had some wings that were tasty and the nachos were ok. But you can get that anywhere. The waiter never once cleared empty plates or bottles from the table. We had to ask someone else to please clear the table and for a box for leftover wings. We wanted to hang out and enjoy the rest of the game but instead went to Hoptinger where it is lively and the service is great! It feels like the ownership wants to do things right here… and yes, good help is hard to find. But staff should at least be trained in the basics like how to address the customer and how to wait on tables. In the end, there is no reason to ever go back here again. We always try to support locals, but they need to at least make an effort to win over the locals. There are dozens of better choices within a 3 – 4 mile radius.

Came to this place again to give it a second chance. Well this experience was worse than the first. Came on a Sunday evening to find it surprising not busy(football games going on). We were told to sit wherever we liked. After sitting for 10 minutes we still didn’t have anyone come take our drinks orders. I left my table and walked to bar myself to order them and bring back to table. Finally a surfer looking kid came to take our orders. By the time we were done ordering we needed more drinks. He disappeared for awile so I walked to bar again to order drinks . The service here is really bad. It’s a shame because the food and beer selection is great !

We held my daughter’s bridal shower at Candlelight. The menu consisted of brunch foods & Mimosa’s. Everything was excellent from beginning to end. The staff set up the room, they were polite & helpful. The food was delicious. Overall a very good time! As a side note I have eaten the fish tacos. The tacos are delicious, fresh & now my favorite!

Went to Candlelight when it first opened. Decided to go back today for lunch. Menu has grown!!! That’s a good thing. The sandwiches we had were good. They are served with a pickle and coleslaw. I had to order French fries at 3.50 for a basket. I would suggest to you to please add chips to the sandwiches!!! Not bad. Will go again. Here’s another helpful suggestion — – add something wet to your coleslaw. My husband added my honey mustard to his and then he could eat it. It’s bone dry!!!

50¢ for extra sauce. Forgot to put cheese on cheese fries. Requested a medium rare Candlelight Burger. Came out a burnt, dry, beyond well done Candlelight burger. Fries aren’t a standard side with a burger but a $ 7.00 appetizer item. Too expensive and very slow service.

My wife and I stumbled on this place on Instagram. Read all the reviews and decided to check it out after a day at the beach. It did not disappoint! We took the advice of many to try the wings and the shrimp. They were both the best we have had in a long time. Pete our server was awesome! The homemade tarter, blue cheese, and ranch dressing(yes we tried them all) were incredible. If you are in St Augustine it is a must stop!

Tonight, on the 4th of July, we had one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. The service was absolutely horrible and the food was mediocre, came out wrong and way over priced. The waiter was unconscious, rude and defensive. First, it took him over 15 minutes to take our order, then he served 2 of 5 meals. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I flagged down another person, who happened to be the owner, asked where the other meals were, he defended the waiter. Two of the meals was not what we ordered and he never brought the salad. Then, I asked for the check, so we could go to fireworks show. It took 2 reminders and an additional 15 minutes. The customer is always right, but not in Candlelight. No one apologized or took responsibility for the mistakes. We will not eat there or recommend anyone, accept Yankee fans, you’ll love it.

Good food at a decent price. The wings are great and the Turkey Ruben is wonderful. Has the cleanest restaurant bathrooms I have seen.

Saturday night arrival by group of 4; we were seated immediately. Server helpful with broad beer offerings to accompany our«pub grub»…which was D@MN good. Among the very best wings that I’ve had in many, many, MANY samplings all across this great Nation. Their Chernobyl sauce has an exceptionally good chile flavor but must be ordered on the side… it plays for keeps. Server was a tall, polite blonde and the manager was about and available. If your looking for a well run pub with fine grub and exceptional service, go here.

Absolutely fantastic. Great beer selection. The wings were phenomenal, the queso and chips are freaking delicious. My chicken Philly was so tasty. I requested it without peppers and My server made a mistake requested they make a new one. That’s above and beyond my expectations and I work in this industry. I would have survived with peppers. My boyfriends French dip was so good and juicy. Will be coming back.

Been going to candlelight Inn in NY for over 10 years, recently I moved to Orlando Florida and thought i wouldn’t have those amazing for a long time. Until a friend sent me a picture from the menu board in NY saying that they were opening up a location in St. Augustine. I couldn’t have been happier and as soon I got a chance my gf and I along with some friends made the two hour trip up to St. Agustine. From the moment we walked in we received such great service. Everyone was extremely friendly and when we told them we had been to the location in NY they went and got George(the owner) who is the brother of the owners in NY. He was a great host routinely checking in on us and giving us background on what made him bring the candlelight to Florida. In one trip to Candlelight South I learned more about the history of the candlelight inn than I did in NY. Now to why we were there, the WINGS and boy they didn’t disappoint one bit. I ordered a small(5 piece) hot for everyone at the table and they tasted exactly the same, It took me back to the Candlelight Inn in NY with every bite. I also ordered the crinkle fries with jalapeño cheese which were identical and my gf and friends ordered the waffle fries which they all loved. For dessert we ordered the cookie ala mode and it was amazing. Through out the night I couldn’t stop thanking George for bringing the greatest wings in the world to Florida and we all agreed that it was worth the 2 hour trip and that we would return soon.
