Sarita’s Mexican Food

Saritas used to be my favorite, but now it’s always a gamble and I never know if my food is going to turn out good or not. Lately, their burritos have been pretty bad. I just got a California burrito and the fries were rock hard, meat was burnt, and hardly any guacamole. Not to mention, the tall lady with the black hair and lip piercings that was the cashier was very rude and didn’t even say hi or thank you and said absolutely nothing to me.

Definitely a little hole in the wall, but it was delicious. Had the carne asada fries and they were yummy, will be coming back here again. My only critique is that carne asada fries should come with sour cream, shouldn’t have to be an extra charge. Overall great!

Food ok. No real sitting space for large groups. Lady taking our order slightly rude.

The surf and turf was about $ 9 dollars total and it was good enough for 2 days. Very good olace ko wonder they are busy.

Love this place! California Burritos and any breakfast burritos are always my go to. The hot sauce is also a favorite. I bring all my non-​San Diego friends here first thing when they get to town!

All I’ve got to say is… Holy Guacamole, what a HUUUUUGE burrito!!! For $ 6 too. I tried the carne Asada and potato breakfast burrito and let me tell you, it’s worth two meals. If you eat the entire thing you won’t need to eat the rest of the day.
The lady at the counter was quite the multi-​tasker. She was still pleasant even if she was overwhelmed by phone calls and customers. That’s awesome.
Location is in a plaza and I almost missed it. It’s a small place… Definitely not for groups.

Carne Asada Fries with extra Carna Asada & Beans!!!

For many years best Mexican restaurant!
The fish burrito is like no other trust me :) !!!

Saritas is losing its touch. Had hard taco and the meat was so salty. The meat in my carne Asada taco was dry and tasteless! Come on Sarita!!!

Just moved to the Spring Valley about a month ago and was craving Mexican food one late night.
So excited to see that there was a 4 star Unilocal mexican restaurant nearby. Saritas definitely didn’t disappoint. We bought the carne asada burrito and carne asada fries. Im surprised this hidden spring valley gem isn’t more well known? Since finding Sarita’s my family, friends and I make this our go to spot for some seriously good burritos. For the price and the taste it was worth it.

The new girl, Gladys, leaves something to be desired. I went to call in a small order, she left me on hold for over ten minutes, and didn’t apologize for the wait when she picked up the phone. She screwed up my order, which normally isn’t a big deal, but when I pointed out the mistake, she just asked for it to be ok.
What kind of service is that?
If I didn’t have so many years of trust built into this place I would have been tempted to walk out.
When I informed her, fairly nicely, that their screw up shouldn’t result in them refusing to fix the wrong order, she was in complete disbelief.
Normally I live this taco shop, it’s my favorite, but this girl left a bad taste in my mouth.

I am not sure why this place is rated so high, maybe the cook was having a bad day or maybe he is new. On 4÷4÷16 I had what I would describe as the absolute worst beef tacos in my life. Now that is saying a lot being that I was raised here in San Diego and had even eaten here in the past. So it has been almost a decade since then and it will be forever now, I ain’t going back there even if you offer me money.
The beef tacos on my #2 combo plate were well over cooked. Since I grabbed the meal to go it was not worth any more of my time and resources to take it back and throw it down on the floor in front of them. The refried beans had been around too long, you know that when they are «stiff» instead of soft, they were too dry to be served. The rice was so-​so.
Save your money, go eat good Mexican food somewhere else, anywhere else! Nothing can be as horrible as the beef tacos were last night at Sarita’s!
And they let some guy sit just outside the door and smoke cigarettes; second hand smoke blowing right into the shop…

So much better than the Mex restaurant next door (so salty!)! This is the joint to come when u need a late night snack and your fav restaurants are closed bc it’s like almost midnight! There’s a flow of
Traffic! Only Neg is the area (not Rancho Santa Fe mind you) and parking, very tight and small.
The shrimp burrito I had was the worse one I had!

RUDE STAFF! Not to mention my rolled tacos sucked.
Friends rave about this place and I really don’t know why… The chicks that work there are rude and act like that substitute from gauc to sour cream is coming out of there damn pocket. I will spend my money where I get customer service even if it’s over priced, I worked in the restaurant and bar industry for many years and appreciate great customer service. This is how you create repeat customers Ladies working the front counter, so turn the attitude down and smile.

Honestly, I used to love this place but they have become so stingy! I ordered a California burrito and it came with 95% French fries and 5% meat. Not how a California burrito should be. I’ll be looking for other Mexican food places from now on.

So I’ve been here plenty of times over 15 years and today I am severely disappointed I went there last night ordered a surf and turf burrito which is usually really great when this time it really was just a potatoe burrito all I taste was potatoes and rice with spec of carne Asada and like 5 shrimp ended up throwing it away Bc it made me upset

Great Mexican food! It’s kind of hard not to give 5 stars here sense the food was very well done.
I had ordered the California burrito and believe it or not this time I asked if they serve it with potatoes or french fries in the lady at the register said whatever way you like it.
Umm really I’ve been eating Mexican food in San Diego my entire life and this is the first time ever someone asked me if I want potatoes or french fries I’m sorry but this to me, this is just simply amazing I’m in Mexican food heaven I mean I’ve been to all the good Mexican shops as a returning customer and this is the first time I’ve ever been at this establishment 5 stars you earned it.
So the California burrito comes with everything sour cream guacamole and cheese it does not come with salsa fresca but that’s okay as you can simply request it. All the other shops in San Diego you must request neither sour cream or guacamole or both but this place already has it in the burrito it’s astonishing to me that not another Mexican shops do these types of orders I know it increases overhead but it also increases the happiness of a customer for repeat business and I think the business practices here at this Mexican shop will definitely benefit them for the future.
Oh by the way the burritos are humongous I was only able to eat three quarters of the burrito it was that big.
One thing I would do if I were the shop owner is somehow they could manage the homeless on this particular night I saw a homeless person asking people for money I know it’s sad to see they were here at 11:30 p.m. and it was sort of unexpected.
I will definitely be returning in the future but if I’m going to bring anyone with me I may come a little earlier just to avoid any person asking for money at the front door.

Best California burrito and rolled tacos in San Diego. Love this place! I only wish they were closer to where I lived.

Tried the Cali burrito w/​guac and it was amazingly good last night. I have no pics to share since I gobbled it up and had no time or energy after a long Labor Day weekend. It was THAT good! Can’t wait to try more on their menu!

Thanks for the potato burrito Saritas. You know I also ordered sausage, egg and cheese in it also. But I guess that’s how it works. I’ll remember that next time when I want a pico de gallo burrito… I’ll just order a Carne Asada burrito.
We all know taco shops at infamous for using «fillers» such as potatoes, or lettuce, or onions. But your breakfast burrito is ridiculous. It literally was all potato!!! Waste of money! I’ll take my business elsewhere.
