La Posta De Acapulco

Thank you, Unilocal.This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant. Too bad I live nowhere near it and probably won’t get to eat here again. You never know.
The tortillas are perfect and the burritos are just huge. I had a carne asada burrito after reading the reviews about the carne asada fries. I was not disappointed at all. The burrito came with guacamole inside for no extra charge — who does that?! I added rice and my bill was just over $ 7. They also had the perfect salsa verde and a takeout container that I didn’t have to ask for multiples of.
Really, this place does everything right. I might just have to move to Spring Valley so I can eat here. Friendly service, too!

When the late night Mexican food craving hits this is the spot to venture to. It’s bright and cheery, friendly and quick to order.
The guy working said it’s usually more crowded at 2 hours before they closed (he was wondering where everyone was since it was slow) and mentioned the salsa that night was made a little more spicy. Sounds like my kind of night. I’ve had all of the Mexican food in the area and this was a change as it was our first time trying it out.
Go for the carne asada fries, they are full of smaller cut meat, smothered with sour cream, and loaded with chunky guacamole, topped off with melted cheese on top. I shared this with my husband and took it to go. Don’t forget the Jamaica drink, it’s the best I’ve had in a while.
I like that this place has late night hours for those late night naughty cravings or a way to simply sober up like the old days.
The menu looks delicious and a bonus it comes with plated photos. It’s a legit throw back style Mexican joint with coined gum ball & toy machines and colorful décor.
We will definitely make our way back here. Delicious and a good amount to be shared.

Love the workers here. They are so friendly and welcoming. Been coming here since high school. Good quality food and it’s always made in a timely fashion.

Been going here for years my go to spot for carne asada fries you wont be disappointed plus free chips n salsa if you dine in

La Posta came recommended by a local resident for good Mexican fare. It did not disappoint. Good variety. Good price. Good taste. Cant go wrong. So much Mexican to choose from in the locale and this is on the better side of quick mex. Will have to come back and try again, but then again there are so many places to choose from!

I like this place way more than sarita’s. The only downfall is that for how good it is. It should be bigger!

Love La Posta; I’ve been coming here for years. super friendly workers and fresh food. My favorite thing to order is the chicken enchiladas and fresh chips and salsa. My family always orders the carne asana burrito. Parking can be difficult and during the Summer the shop can get very hot but they always have fans going and ice water.

Picked up a BUNCH of rolled tacos for a family party. The tacos were great, but it would have been nice if they pointed out that we could have spent about half what we did by buying in the 12 count. But overall pretty good food

I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad meal here. Recently had the California burrito which was full of meat and not too many fillers such as potatoes or pico. Had the perfect amount of guacamole and cheese which comes in it. Most other places will charge you extra. The guys here are always generous with the chips and salsa and will always offer you more when you run out.
My son loves their bean and cheese burritos and I
can tell the beans are homemade and not straight from a can. In case you were wondering, I’ll answer the question for you… yes La Posta is better than Saritas. Saritas is crap. It’s all store bought pre made crap that they try to pass off as «authentic». Save ur money and go to La Posta. You won’t be disappointed.

I went to this place because my other go-​to spot (Saritas) was way too crowded. The perk of this place is that it’s only two doors down from Saritas. I had their rolled tacos and a California burrito with Chicken. I don’t know if it was a random or not, but the burrito had seasoned fries (versus your typical run of the mill fries in other burritos)…which was the kicker in the burrito. The saltiness of the fries, along with the crispy texture made all the difference. I suggest you give this place a chance. Kudos to this place for opening up shop right next to one of the busiest burrito spots in east county.

I have been going here since the 80’s! It is definitely my favorite taco shop in the area by far. The shop is what it is: a tacky decorated taco shop. The food is amazing. I love their chicken tacos! They actually use all white meat. Their guacamole and salsa is terrific. Don’t even go to the horrible taco shop two doors down.

Amazing food love there California burritos and there salsa and guacamole normally don’t like tomatoes in it but there’s tastes great! Love the staff to very nice good prices nice size burritos

Came here after being unsatisfied by Saritas.
Had surf and turf burrito.
Cheaper than Saritas, taste and quality is roughly the same. The surf part of the burrito was not impressive, shrimp while not rotten wasn’t the freshest either. Fresh shrimp has that nice sweet crunchy texture. Well, not here, not this time.
Foot traffic is good, so fresh turnover.
Really can’t think of a compelling reason to come back to this taco shop, except to say, if in the neihborhood and choosing between Saritas and this, I’d give this place a very slight edge.
Still unsatisfied. Still searching for good Mexican food in the east county… noticeably better in downtown and the barrio.

Asked some friends if Saritas was okay, was told nah, go to the place two doors down. Oh gosh so happy I went here tonight! Best California burrito I’ve had in forever. I also got some rolled tacos, and they were perfect. Would have been a 5 star rating but the food took forever. Will definitely be going back though.

After moving up to North County, it’s like a treasure hunt to find the best taco shop with the best CA burrito. Today, on this rainy day and celebrating 4 more days of the semester at Cuyamaca College, I wanted a burrito.
Yes, I did find it on Unilocal!But I never tried Sarita’s so this is solely reviewing what I ate today. These two shops are literally next door to each other, crazy! First, the workers were friendly. Second, the burrito had everything it needs for a good CA burrito– guacamole, sour cream, cheese, crunchy fries, and yummy carne. They give you a larger than (taco shop) life hot sauce container and I needed one and a quarter for my burrito! The red sauce wasn’t hot though. This shop places high on my list, but I’ve had better red sauce. Unfortunately they didn’t have green sauce available today.
I’m glad I walked in today. I’m full now. And writing this in class ;)

Still a great place to eat! Super friendly, food is always super good with great portions! I’ve been to a lot of taco shops around San Diego and this is most definitely in my top 5.

Great food, great service and consistent goodness!
These guys are always friend and fast!
The food is made right in front of you and they never have any problems with substitutions to the menu.
My wife is gluten free so when I ask them to use corn tortillas and make a breakfast burrito they did and made delicious breakfast tacos!

So this place is literally a stone throw away from Saritas’. Very interesting to note how packed and busy both of these locations were on Saturday night when I stopped by. The worst thing about this place has to be its parking, just like Saritas, the parking lot is super small and street parking is quite limited. Luckily I found a spot that was adjacent to the gas station next door to it. I have no clue if this location is connected to the other two locations in Hillcrest and Lakeside, but it was great to finally try one.
When walking into this place you’ll note the very simple menu up top followed by the breakfast menu to the right side (
). Unfortunately for me, I was in the serious mood for a breakfast burrito but the cashier informed me they did not have ingredients to make it at this time, kinda weird. But I didn’t let this ruin my trip here, instead I opted for a California burrito and five rolled tacos to go. My food took quite a while to come out due to the gazillion orders of carne asada fries a head of me, I watched as the line cooks made them, these guys loaded up plates with stuff, no gravy skimpers here. After getting my order, I asked the guy for a massive amount of hot sauce, he did not disappoint as he handed me six huge containers of hot sauce, nice.
Upon opening up my rolled taco order (
), I was quite impressed at the amount of stuff they loaded on top; guac, tomatoes, lettuce, and two different types of cheese. These rolled tacos were kinda small but crispy and the meat inside was pretty damn good. My favorite being the toppings, nothing like dumping a bunch of hot sauce on top and eating it all with a fork like a salad after you’re done with the tacos.
Large sized burritos here, their California (
) was filled up. Inside this thing (
) was asada, cheese, fries, along with no fee extra sour cream & guac. While I’m not the biggest fan of sour cream, I thoroughly enjoyed my California burrito here. The meat was cut up into perfect sized chunks, seasoned and cooked wonderfully. The fries weren’t too crispy, but they definitely didn’t suffer from the sogginess that some places throw out. La Posta makes a damn fine California burrito. Also their guac (
) is no joke either, nothing but freshness here.
La Posta despite its incredible competition next door does San Diego taco shop food right. Their menu is very simple as they offer most of the staple items here, nothing fancy at all. Their hot sauce while being very basic, adds great flavor to your food. They have no qualms about supplying you with enough when you walk out. Only disappointment was the no breakfast burritos for dinner, oh well.

My childhoods most eaten Mexican food joint. I still miss their carne asada chimichanga, carne asada fries, OMG I love it!
Okay so if you didn’t know, there’s an ongoing debate as to the best Mexican in Spring Valley. La Posta or Sarita’s are two popular contenders and with them being literally two doors down from each other, it’s all out war tearing apart families, lol.
Well my two cents is for La Posta the hot sauce is better lighter, you can use more of it but of course Sarita’s has bigger portions and some prefer the taste as well. Just not me, my recommendation is La Posta, it’s so so good!
You’ll have to try both so you can join the war, lol!

Me gusta la comida mexicana! Este es uno de mis lugares favoritos para comer. Yo recomendaria este lugar. El servicio es excelente. La comida es fresca. Y usted no tiene que comer mucho para obtener su totalidad. :D
