Came here for some scotch and dinner. I had a great time hanging with the bartenders, they let me sample whatever I wanted, and discovered a new scotch of my liking. The French Dip was great, the meat was medium rare and sliced really thin. The horseradish was solid. If you looking for a good place to grab a bite, and a place to have some quality drinks I recommend this place. The bartenders were friendly and really knew their drinks. Professionals of their craft.

Cheep, bad vibe, terrible drinks. Walking in to the bar it was fairly crowded so we chose a table that had a few dishes left from the previous people. When a waitress came over my husband apologize for sitting there before they could buss it and then made a joke about how we just really need a drink. The waitress looked at him made a face and walked away. Not one word. I ordered a vodka martini with blue cheese olives and my husband ordered one with a twist. They both came out without garnishes. We had to order them separate. Our soup and salad took a total of 1:20 minutes to make. Food was ok — but maybe because by that time we were very hungry. The only ok thing is that our main waitress was kind of nice. But I will never go back and I really hope this place gets a new manager. I remember back when it was a jazz piano bar and such a nice place. It’s sad that they have gone all the way down hill

Went there for happy hour. Was disappointed it was only $ 4 beer or wine. No food on happy hour. Decided since we were already there we would try their martinis and a couple appetizers. It was all over priced and so so. Nothing special about this place!

We had dinner and Hannah was our server. She recommended several different items on the menu, one of which we ordered. The Prime Rib French Dip. We both ordered our selections rare. When our meals arrived they were exactly as we ordered. She was attentive enough without giving you the feeling as if she was hovering. We enjoyed the beautiful lounge with its namesake stained glass ceiling. If I had to recommend anything, it would be to ditch the neon around the bar. Terrible distraction of an otherwise beautiful room.

We came here recently for our annual family night out. Our intention was to have some drinks and appetizers. We were a large group, approximately 20 people, and we knew it would be difficult to find a table large enough to host us. However, a corner area served us well. Originally, this was going to be a one star review, based on the experience explained below with a rude employee. While we felt the drinks were a bit watered-down and a bit overpriced, our server, Hannah, did an excellent job and tended to us as best as she could. Service was slow, but that is because things picked up and I believe they were understaffed. Regardless, she was kind, informative, and did not make any mistakes. That is why I upped it to a two star review. The main reason this rating is low is because of another staff member who was working both behind the bar and throughout the room. I do not know his name, but he had a crewcut hair style that was kind of a sandy/dirty blonde color. Anyhow, there were two occasions where we interacted with him, and he was very short and abrupt and rude. I understand each business has a right to a few policies, but if you have a large group who is understanding, there is no reason to explain the policies in a rude manner. We were moving some chairs and tables to better fit our large group, and that’s fine if they don’t want us doing that, but he did not have to be rude about it. It almost made us leave. Later in the evening, some of us went to the bar to order some drinks with cash, and the same gentleman abruptly told us that we have to order through our server. Again, that’s fine, but when you come across antagonistic about it, it sets a tone of negativity. Soon after, we left because even though our server, Hannah, did a great job, we did not feel like spending the rest of the evening giving money to a place that allows such behavior from an employee. Perhaps he was having an off night or something that was causing him to be frustrated, but unfortunately, there are many choices downtown, and if we are going to go somewhere and pour our money, we would like to at least get polite service across the board. I do not think that is unfair to ask.

Horrible, absolutely Horrible! Rude, bitchy cocktail waitress and completely out of touch, apathetic manager. Ordered a Manhattan and server«Brianna» asked if I wanted it on the rocks. I said no, I want it served traditionally in a cocktail glass. She said«I know, but do you want it on the rocks»?(In a cocktail glass???) Apparently she thinks a cocktail glass is any glass you serve a cocktail in. I told her a cocktail glass is often mis referred to as a «martini glass». She starts arguing with me, informing me that she knows how to serve cocktails and she has been doing it for 18 years. She won’t let this go. She escalates the situation, raises her voice and then accuses me of becoming irate. I’m entertaining clients so this is becoming quite embarrassing for me. When she returns, she ask everyone at the table if they would like another drink except me. When she brings the check, she brings up the matter about the glass again. I just want to pay my bill and get the hell out of there, never to return. In my haste, I left my coat on the chair. I returned 2 minutes later to retrieve my coat and… it’s gone. I track down Brianna and she rudely informs me she took it to lost and found. I’m concerned because my cell phone and keys are in the pocket. She then just leaves. No further explanation. So I follow her through a back hallway where I’m stopped by another not so friendly employee. She confronts me about being in the hallway. I told her about my coat. She doesn’t care and tells me to leave. I ignore her and continue on to retrieve my coat. Some other rude 20 something approaches me with my coat. When I reach out to take it, she pulls it back real quick. Almost like she was saying«sike», but this was not done in a playful manner. A low energy manager sees this and approaches me. I asked if she saw what just happened. She said«No, I turned my head and did not see anything». I find that odd, then what prompted her to approach me if she didn’t see anything? Clearly, sargent Schultz was protecting her rogue employee. I gave her a brief review of the evening. She listened, but didn’t care. It was like talking to a zombie. This place is a dump. All of our glasses were dirty, they don’t provide cocktail napkins when you order a drink and rude, condescending staff. My advise, stay away unless you’re a masochist.

Coffee served in a FILTHY coffee cup. Extremely disappointing. Located inside the Davenport Hotel, our first impression was very favorable. The Davenport is a very nice hotel and we were looking forward to enjoying some cocktails, desert and coffee at the Peacock Room. We ordered our deserts, cocktails and coffee and I immediately noticed how dirty the coffee cup was. I used my thumb to wipe a section clean for comparison. Makes me wonder how clean the kitchen is.

Just stayed at Davenport for a quick trip with the hubby and lounged at the Peacock room for date night! Lovely lounge/bar. We adored the peacock ceiling glass, very cool spot! Will be back :)

I expected a lot more from the Peacock Room. I’d seen all the colorful photos and fancy martini drinks, and was ready to be wowed by uniqueness and luxury. Sadly, it struck me as a glorified sports bar with peacock décor. Taxidermy peacocks and all. I had a $ 15 glass of red wine(yikes!) and the crab cakes($ 16.5), both were fine but I definitely felt ripped off by hotel bar pricing. Nice that they serve food until 11pm, but you’ll pay for the convenience. I splurged on dessert, the apple crisp with Tillamook ice cream, which was for sure delicious but I soon noticed a pool of liquid grease forming around the edge of the dish, so I couldn’t finish. A fine place if you’re desperate for a late night meal, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit while in Spokane.

My wife, sister in law, and I went here on a Saturday night. The place was empty and surprised me for a Saturday night. Then again I had just finished work off main avenue in the«bar district» as I like to refer to it. We split a cougar gold dip with bread, one of us had wine and 2 split a virgin drink. The virgin was crazy sweet. Too sweet. The cougar gold dip was good, bread ok. Atmosphere was great and waitress did her job. She served us what we asked, with a simple job smile. No complaints overall but nothing to rave except atmosphere is cool.

The bartender was really friendly, I was excited to hear that they had Hot Buttered Rum, although I’ve only had this drink a few times, I think they let it sit there too long, by the time it came to my table it was cold buttered rum. Love the atmosphere, my friends drink was delicious, they have great martinis.

Fancy little place inside the Davenport. We come here before concerts at the knitting factory. Yummy drinks but very small portions of food. BIG tv’s always on the sports channel. Spendy for what you get

I’ve been to the Peacock Room a zillion times over the years and have seen a steady increase in prices yet noticeable decline in quality. On a recent trip to Spokane I stopped in with my mom. I had a double whiskey Coke. Their well whiskey was Jack Daniels and my drink was $ 14 or $ 15…for Jack and Coke. They used to set a small bowl of cashews on the table for you once you arrived. No longer. We ordered the Cougar Gold Cheese Dip which I’ve always loved. It was as good as I remember(how can a ramekin of gooey cheese be bad?) but used to come with a picholine and nicoise olives, peperoncini and pickled cherry peppers. They did away with the olives long ago and this time I noticed the cherry peppers were gone, too. Just three lonely peproncinis. I had a burger which I’ve had there before. It was the same as I remember with a much heftier price tag…$ 15.50. For a basic burger and fries. For $ 15.50 I’d love to see hand cut fries at the very least. How hard is it to cut some potatoes and fry ‘em? They use frozen skinny fries. My mom had the French Dip and she liked it. It was so-so. I hate complaining about the Davenport Hotel because I’m so happy that it was restored. It was such a shame to see it sitting vacant for most of my life. Walt Worthy did an amazing job having the hotel restored, particularly the lobby which is not to be missed. The Peacock Room has a lovely stained glass ceiling but the carpet, seating and music feel very dated… and not in a good way.

Enjoyed the lounge both nights we were in town! why not?! Great happy hour and yummy apps! Loved the cougar gold cheese dip. Who wouldn’t love a bar with 2 huge stuffed peacocks and a glass peacock ceiling!

I’m really confused about the high ratings for the Peacock Room. I’m a Spokanite and each time I give this place a try(which is usually in 6 – 8 month intervals) it is always a disappointment. First, when you walk into the bar-estaurant you have no idea if you should seat yourself or wait. There’s no sign indicating what you should do. For those folks who are not from Spokane nor have ever experienced the Peacock Room(you know, since this is a hotel, out-of-towners are expected) you end up standing there looking like a fool. I saw a potential three top come in and stand there for about 5 minutes, with no recognition from the staff, only to end up leaving. I have seen this occur no less than 4 times during each of my visits. Second, it is always understaffed. If I am spending $ 80 on some food and two drinks, please try to schedule more servers than you need, especially on a Friday night. Third, the food is «meh». Way overpriced and not that great to be honest. The prime rib sandwich was undercooked and had virtually no taste if it weren’t for the horseradish. However, the cougar gold cheese dip was phenomenal. Last. The Davenport should be a place where all Spokanites can go and enjoy a piece of our history without slashing into your dedicated mortgage payment. My grandmother worked at the Davenport, in the restaurant no less, in the 1950’s, so I do share the sentimentality of the hotel and its importance in our community. However, the prices are high and the quality low. I will of course continue to support the Davenport – but I just couldn’t write a good review.

The Peacock Room is pretty cool. The food is pretty good. All in all, its pretty ok. They do make good drinks, and they pour doubles. However, the price reflects it. So, it is one of the better places in Spokane, but not the kind of place you go to and write home about. You will not be disappointed, nor will you be blown away. Oh, they are also open as late as there is business, so they may close earlier than you’d expect for one of the nightlife spots of Spokane. I do like all the stuffed peacocks.

The crown jewel in the midst of the ostentatious interpretation of «The Jungle Book» that is Spokane’s Davenport Hotel. A surreal spot full of 30 year high-school reunion attendees, newlyweds, jacketed old men, barflys, smalltown hustlas, confused traveling salesmen and swindlers. The haute couture meet the hoi polloi. And everything is covered in feathers. One of the most interesting experiences in eastern Washington. People DRESSUP to come here. They take pictures of themselves in front of the bird-feather-themed-stained-glass. They order fancy sounding things and watch to see who comes in. This strange little bar is the cultural center of town. In more ways than one.
