I stayed at the hotel next door(Doubletree) and almost didn’t make it inside this shop because I was rushed and almost made the assumption that it was too touristy and kitschy to go inside. However, I’m glad I did because it was indeed a really nicely done gift store with some unique items from Vermont. Found a cute and unique Xmas ornament. There is also a small kids’ section. Would recommend checking out.

Cool little shop, lots of homemade bowls, door knockers, cutting boards etc… A little pricey, but understandable with the quality of the items in the store.

Super cute shop! Mostly local to Vermont with the exception of a few things. This shop has it all; art, food, clothing, kids things. My husband and I went here today and I think I bought half their inventory! There are all sorts of goodies here but be warned; some things *are* expensive but for the quality and the local — ness(totally a word…), it is worth it. I will definitely be back!

As a Vermonter I can’t say that I frequent Vermont gift shops but in light of an upcoming trip I had the pleasure of exploring more touristy shops. My search for the perfect gifts began, and I can say hands down this is the best place to go for one stop shopping. From the staples(maple syrup, maple candies, maple cookies, postcards, key chains, and magnets) to Vermont crafts by Vermonters(soaps, aroma therapy, elaborate wood carving pieces, glass works and original art and art prints), this place really had something for everyone. The prices, well, those are definitely tourist prices. But for the convenience of having all your shopping in one place and that they will gift wrap is a huge plus. Experience-wise, it was kind of hit and miss. The first trip was excellent. The two women working were extremely helpful and offered to gift wrap and asked about who they were for and customized the wrapping paper and colors to the individuals(and whoa, the lady was a wiz when it came to making the perfect bows!). Having had such an awesome experience, I decided to go back and finish up the remainder of my gift shopping list after scoping out a couple other places, and was let down by lack of customer service and attitude of the workers. I had to ask for boxes for the gifts, the tissue that they placed around the items was haphazard, and there was no mention of the gift wrapping or bow option. Despite the large amount I spent on the gifts it just seemed out of place for a gift shop to be hesitant to provide boxes. While in the end the items were wrapped but I will caution that you can get two very different experiences depending on who is behind the counter. Positives: awesome variety of Vermont made products. Negatives: inconsistency with customer service and wrapping. One last note, I hear they have an annual sale before the holidays so stay tuned!

I was referred to this place when I was soliciting ideas for gifts and souvineers from VT on Unilocal Talk. This place did not disappoint. It really is a barn! At first glance, I didnt think that I would buy majority of the stuff they had in here. I was looking more of the cheesy touristy stuff, but they had some of it — though you had to take your time and look around. The staffer who was there took the time to answer my questions I had about the difference in Vermont’s maple syrup and regular maple syrup you find anywhere else. I know that Vermont’s brand is famous the world over, so I got two bottles of that, along with a couple of magnets to satisfy my cheesy tourist souvineers thing. The prices are reasonable, though I must admit that I did not look at the prices of maple syrup before buying. Oh well. Supporting small business, I guess. Every bit helps nowadays. The person who was on staff at the time was very friendly abs most helpful when I told her I needed to bubble wrap the maple syrup, since I was going to be carrying it with me in my checked baggage. I wish maple syrup was not considered a liquid by the TSA, but it unfrotunately is. There is a gift for everyone here at the Vermont Gift Barn. They have a little bit of Everything. I had a good experience here. Check em out! A+

So you want to give the gift of Vermont huh? Well look no farther! You have come to the right place! The gift store is just filled with Vermont gift ideas! Local Vermont artist, Cheese boards, cards and Vermont foods! They offer a little bit of everything. The staff here is pretty friendly too. They will offer to help you but if you tell them your just looking around they will leave you be. That’s a plus in my book! Prices here are more than fair. They offer something for everyone at just about any price range! So if your looking for a Vermont themed gift then just check them out! They won’t disappoint!
