If you want a great meal at a great price, look no further. It’s a no frills casual atmosphere — just what I like. Best wings in the valley. Always check the specials — food is good across the board, but they have great specials.

Great spot if you’re in the mood for a dive with good pub food and inexpensive drinks around a game of pool.

Don’t want to come across highly sophisticated, which I am not, but most of the crowd here is blue collar working class. They drop F bombs and make lewd comments towards the bar staff, and the bar staff doesn’t seem to mind it. I was turned off by this atmosphere. Management Take Note. Staff was polite, food — I have eaten better quality food elsewhere. I will not return

UPDATE: first time we went must’ve been an off night(especially after seeing all the other raving reviews) because the restaurant made it up to us tonight. The food was amazing! Husband ordered the bbq sampler and I ordered the steak(cooked medium as asked). Everything was tender and melted in our mouths and the garlic mashed potatoes were amazing as well. We have enough food for leftovers for a few days. Do they sell their ranch sauce by the bottle? Because I’d buy a few. I would definetly recommend Old Well Tavern to anyone in town and will be going back fore more. Thanks for making it right! Ordered from here this past Friday I believe. We ordered the bbq appetizer that comes with smoked turkey, pulled pork, a couple ribs and burnt ends. We also ordered the beef brisket meal. We figured we would get a good selection that way. However when I got home we didn’t get a beef brisket meal we had a burnt ends meal. So double the amount of burnt ends and no brisket. I am well aware that burnt ends are made from brisket but usually they are two different things. Wish they would’ve told me they were out of brisket so I could’ve ordered something else. They told me 20 mins on the phone. I got there 25 mins after I ordered and had to wait an additional 30 mins once I got there. Then I got home and the food was alright. Not up to the bbq standards I’m used to at black eyed Sallys, bears or marks. So while the craving for bbq was satisfied it was just okay. Wish I could’ve tried the brisket though.

Pulled pork. Oh my freakin God. I’ve lived in the south and travelled through most of it and never thought I’d find some of the best I’ve had in this joint in Connecticut. Brisket was ok, but the pulled pork… aaaahhhhh

I used to come here every Friday night with my mom and a friend for girls night! The food is good especially for the prices. Great place to sit and talk over drinks with friends. Great local dive bar to hang out at night especially when they have bands playing. they have pool tables and lots of space for dancing! The owners are super nice and friendly every time we come in.

Worst dining experience I’ve had in a long time. Steak was overcooked and potatoes were cold. «Vegetable» was onions and peppers with a few bits of broccoli thrown in. Our entrees were supposed to come with a salad but none were delivered. Our server was inattentive at best, until I told her about the issue with the steak and potatoes. Then she couldn’t get us out of the restaurant fast enough. Just brought the check without offering another drink, coffee, dessert, etc.

From outside appearances, this looks like any other bar you might find around the area, but once you step inside you know it’s something quite different. The staff is about as friendly as they come. The menu is diverse, and ever changing(with weekly specials that never repeat). The pork is smoked weekly out back, and is unparalleled anywhere around here. I have been coming here for 2+ years and have never had one thing on the menu I didn’t LOVE. The beer selection is good, and free pool is always a plus. There ate over 10TV’s throughout the bar so you can be sure to catch your favorite game. This is a must-see place if you are in the area and on the lookout for amazing food with great people

The barbeque is amazing! Their portions are huge and the quality is high. There was not a bad meal at our table of 6. The sliders are also really great since you can mix and match with the pulled pork, buffalo chicken and cheese burgers.

Wow! This was definitely the go-to dive bar(minus the turtle races) in the area for years until former employees took it over and began offering solid pub grub to go with the excellent selection of on-tap beers. Recent Thursday dinner time found the place hopping with people eating like there was no tomorrow. Top of the charts were the plump mussels cooked with Sam Adams, butter and garlic. Seemed odd until I licked my plate and fingers. Friends were having sandwiches and fries that were also great. Work off the meal with a game of pool and run into just about everyone. Keep up the good work, guys.

Great local hangout, formerly Reno’s Gathering Place. Former employees took over the business and continue the tradition of quality food in a casual atmosphere.
