I dined at this location when it was the original Apollo’s and then when it was first renovated and it was very good. I dined there after it was taken over by Attilos and the service and the food left a lot to be desired. I ordered a salad and chicken marsala to go. When I arrived at the restaurant, I asked if they has included some bread and was told they didn’t usually do that on togo dinners. HMMM, I was asked if I wanted bread and said yes. Glad I insisted as it was the best part of the meal. When I got home and opened to togo container, the chicken«marsala» has a layer of yellow grease on the top layer of the pan and had no marsala flavor. It was truly disappointing.

100% hands down the absolute best pizza I’ve ever had. Amazing!!! The salad was fantastic!!! Fresh mozzarella cheese on the pizzas and crispy crust. Friendly service! We used a groupon so the price wasn’t too bad either!!!

I don’t know if it was an off-day or what, but far from decent. We came in during lunchtime and the place was empty. We were greeted and told everyone is sitting outside on the patio, which was great since it was a nice day out. However, that’s where the pluses ended. Service outside was beyond spotty and the wait at each point was 10 – 15 minutes(even to order drinks). There were many people who gave up and just left. What should have been a half hour lunch turned into about an hour fifteen. The food was ok, although overcooked(nothing worse than ordering a burger rare and having it come out without any pink). Overall, I’d steer clear if you can. Not worth it.

The pizza is seriously gourmet quality and reasonably priced. No idea what the negative pizza reviews are about, maybe they prefer«people’s choice«–esque pizza, but this was exceptional. Were very excited we gave this place a try after Apollos which was disappointing.

I never went to Apollo’s, so I can’t speak to whether or not this place is better/worse, but the four-cheese and olive pizza we got was amazing(I can’t stop thinking about the truffle honey drizzle) and my fresh Greek salad had giant slabs of feta in it, so Little City has just been overtaken, as far as our family is concerned.

I miss apollos so much. We used to eat outside at maple tree and been to many functions inside as well. The food at Atillios is not as good as apollos was. We often find ourselves ordering plain items that«can’t get messed up» or sending items back as inedible. We used to order pizza from Atillios at their old location and loved it. Now its not the same. How can it not be the same 5 miles down the road? Even though apollos had changed ownership over the years I never felt the food suffered. I now miss apollos greatly. You have to ask for fettuccine pasta with the fra diavolo? Isn’t it just fish soup without the pasta? Again the chicken Marsala marginal, tastes great but chicken tough and on top of mashed potatoes??? This is Italian? The only thing Atillios has is a great location and Sophia. I hope they get a new chef soon.

Stopped in for lunch with some friends. Great sandwich selections. My Italian Panini was delicious and almost too much to eat. Will definitely come back for a Dinner try.

I went here for lunch one afternoon and was very pleased. The staff was friendly and timely, and the food was very good. If you’re in Simsbury or passing on by, I highly recommend stopping in.

Ok, Simsbury resident that always supports local and really kind of miss the old Antilio’s on the town line. Tonight I ordered gyro which was real lamb however it was very dry my wife ordered chx buffalo salad and chicken was large pieces of fried chicken with buffalo sauce, could not really tell if they made it or it was a frozen fried product. Not very impressed with tonight’s dinner. The biggest problem with every time I eat there is the noise! Way too loud! Open floor plan with tin ceiling really does not make for an enjoyable evening. Not to mention a soccer team was eating as well, not their fault but very load due to the design /layout of the restaurant. Beer was very good and fresh. I wish they could do something about the interior and compete with LCP or Joes

We were totally impressed with the pizza, cocktails and service. We were only one out of two tables on a Thursday night but we’re happy to hear this is very unusual. John took very good care of us and made excellent recommendations. We had the wild mushroom pizza and the pecan goat cheese salad. It was enough for 4 people and out of this world good!

I Called and asked about if they were still serving Apollo’s pizza. Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst– I got the latter, being told«No, it’s brick oven now and BETTER» by the young woman on the phone. From my perspective(and many others I’ve spoken with) Apollo Pizza existed as a Simsbury institution for 25+ years with George and Gino running the show– BADIDEA bad mouthing a long-lived local favorite. The pizza was generic brick oven pie with a sauce that had an out-of-the can tomato paste flavor. Crust was so-so with oregano/italian seasoning(totally misplaced seasoning here!). I tried to like it– really, just for some sort of silver lining– but nope– it was just bad. Little City is probably the place to go in town now. The crew eating the pie had, collectively, eaten Apollo’s hundreds of times. It’s a sad day in Simsbury. Brick ovens and hip chalk boards of craft beer offerings cannot replace what, to many, was the best pizza in existence. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it– the new ownership should have figured that out before running head first into a brick oven and wall.

OMG Great Pizza, and they deliver!!! First time we tried the wings and the Italian Sausage specialty pizza. I am from Jersey and very picky about my pizza, love thin crispy crust. The pizza was delicious. We also tried some of their wings, though I was struggling as to which flavor was which. We have also gotten their sandwiches,(again delivered!!, extra star). Wayne got their Italian job, which he stated was the best sandwich in a long time. I got a chicken caesar wrap which was good,(though delivery helped it to taste even better.) Tonight we have returned to the Sausage specialty pizza and wings. I did ask them to tell me which wing was which. Stay tuned…

Never went to Apollos, so don’t have a baseline for Atillios, but despite it being our first visit, we were not that impressed. Had a mixed salad, some wings(BBQ/buffalo and mango/habenaro and Hawaiian pizza. Salad — pretty good. 3⁄5. Balsamic dressing was good. Nice mix of greens. Wings — BBQ/buffalo — not bad. 3⁄5. Typical rubbery skinned wings, but sauce had decent flavor. Wings — Mango/Habenaro — skip it. 1⁄5. They were dry and had very little flavor. It’s like they needed more sauce or something. Pizza — good grief. Epic FAIL. 0⁄5. This stuff was worse than dominoes/Little Caesers. Come on guys… seriously???Crust had absolutely NO flavor. There was bacon on it but you could not taste it very much. They also had this thick layer of creamy white cheese stuff on top of the mozzarella. think hot cream cheese. Just go to Little City, Joes Pizza, or Gio’s in East Granby. Heck, buy a frozen pizza. Service — 1⁄5. Server seemed knowledgeable about the menu, but it seemed like she was miffed about something. Ok… bad day, we all get them. But having to ask for water refills(strike 1), having to ask for a refill on a seltzer water(twice)…strike 2(which by the way they kindly charged me $ 2.50(I should have protested that one… strike 3. Again, i don’t have any experience with the old Apollos, but then again, maybe my taste buds weren’t numbed by fond memories of a great pizza place since gone by.

A friend recommended Atillio’s pizza to me. He said it was the best he had ever tasted. After our first(and most likely last) order, I am questioning his sanity. My wife and I ordered two small pizzas. The first Hawaiian pizza and the second a small pizza with chicken and broccoli. Both we’re dry and lacked taste. The fact that they put bacon on a Hawaiian instead of ham should have been enough to return it; however we made a good attempt at eating it. It was«ok» at best. The chicken on the other pizza was cubed, sparse and very dry. Our daughter ordered a meatball sub which fell apart… the meatball was full of breadcrumbs and«mushy». Gross. With all the quality pizza places around like«Little City» and«Luna’s», Attillio’s better get it together or it won’t survive. As a lifetime Simsbury resident — I miss Apollos!!!

Not that Maple Tree was 5 Star but it’s now worse. Get there well before 9pm as that’s when the kitchen closes. How can a bar close their kitchen at 9? It makes it easy to just leave and walk across the street to 3 other establishments for drink and food. Frankly just as good or better. Don’t waste your time even stopping by. Follow up. I now tried their pizza, even worse. We want maple tree and Apollo back.

First time eating in the new Attilio’s(redesigned Apollos dining room) came for lunch with two coworkers. We have eaten at Maple Tree before and we knew they shared a kitchen so we thought we would give this a try. We had a wild mushroom pizza and my two coworkers shared the orange walnut salad. The salad looked fantastic and they seemed to like it. This is by far my favorite pizza in the area one of the first to make me not miss New York City pizza I grew up on. Server was attentive and quick with drinks. Was a great overall experience if you haven’t tried the pizza I would say it is the new reigning champion in Simsbury.

This is going to be confusing, I know that. This is the new location of Attilio’s. The old location, a few miles north by the Granby line, was closed. The new Attilio’s is located in the space previously occupied by the now closed Apollo’s Pizza. There was a total re-make of the old Apollo’s interior, although there is still a blue Apollo’s sign by the bar, in a nice nod to history, since Apollo’s was there forever. The interior is beautiful — ornate gold ceiling, new hardwood floor, and a two-tone gray and blue interior. The old Apollo booths are gone, replaced by new tables and chairs. Their designer deserves a nice pat on the back. They opened the new space on March 12, so we had dinner on the tenth day they were open. We definitely noticed some opportunities for improvement, but that has to be expected considering the newness of everything. Service A mixed bag. Our server was not very attentive, never checked us even once after the food came out. A bread basket took a long time to arrive and the portion was small. The first basket’s loaf was cut into 4 small pieces. The second basket’s loaf was shaved into many more slices as thin as melba toasts. No parmesan cheese on the table. No parmesan cheese offered to someone who ordered lasagne. Our server didn’t tell us that the lasagne included salad(neither did the menu). And when the unexpected salad came out it was already dressed, so we didn’t have a choice, which seems appropriate for a salad we didn’t know was coming. Food Pretty good. I had a dish I had never seen before — a Wasabi Chopped Salad. It was terrific — for $ 9.50 I received a big portion of romaine, asparagus, cucumber, tomato, roasted red pepper, and grilled chicken with a cucumber wasabi dressing. Next time, I’ll order the dressing on the side. It was spicy(expectantly and pleasantly so), but as I moved to the center of the plate where the dressing has pooled, it became a little too potent. The lasagne was good but average. It was $ 14.95 and was served in a small rectangular casserole dish. Lots of cheese on the top, not too much inside. Three stars seems about right.

Went here for the first time a couple weeks ago and really liked it! Had the mushroom specialty pizza, which was unique and really delicious. this was one of the tastier pizzas I’ve had in a while. Our waiter was very attentive… the atmosphere was comfortable. there were interesting appetizer options, which I’d like to try another time. I would go back!
