Simi Valley Hospital Emergency Services

After three days of suffering from a crohns flare and developing a major migraine from dehydration, I felt it was time to head into the Emergency depth for a tune up as that’s where most of my flares land me. I was treated by the most compassionate team too this day I have ever experienced in my 23 years of suffering with crohns. The entire process was flawless. My primary nurse Amy took amazing care of me she listened to my history, she advocated for my care and made me comfortable. As I AM a hard stick after being on years of IV treatments she took her time with attempting to start and IV and acknowledged when she felt there was nothing that stood out. She then took the time to advocate in a prompt and professional manner to get the doctor to place an ultra sound IV within minS the line was in, my meds were in and I was finally comfortable. The team nursing aspect was felt by all the clinicians that came near my room and too my bedside.Dr.Russell was the most compassionate, engaged, professional, warm hearted physician I have ever met. He was patient, uderstanding and engaged in both my medical history my treatment plan and my after discharge care instructions. The entire team from registration to discharge was completely focused on the overall patient centered outcomes of my care.Dr.Russell is a Rockstar that I hope never looses his passion and caring bedside empathy in the future of his career. Amy was the first nurse to ever go over my discharge instructions from start to finish. Please, please, please!!! guys don’t loose the Empathy that you have for key driving factors that you display everyday. Individual centered focused Rockstar patient bedside care. For the first time in 23 years of having crohns I felt LOVED by the people taking care of my life. THANK YOU!

My experiences with the Simi Valley Hospital were atrocious! I informed three different emergency room nurses that I should not be exposed to their mri machines and they ignored me and put me in their machines anyway. My exposure to that machine put my life in grave danger. The Simi Hospital and Advantist Health have told me there are no laws requiring anyone in the ER to listen to a patient regarding his or her knowledge of their safety and they will not be held responsible for not listening either.. Your life depends on good health care.. Go anywhere but the Simi hospital or any hospital associated with Advantist Health!
