Mandarin Chinese Restaurant

Very unimpressed! I went in at 2:30 with the main goal of eating hot and sour soup. It was cold and rainy and I was feeling under the weather so thought a good bowl of spicy hot and sour soup would do the trick. Got in, sat down and ordered the lunch special. Spicy Kung Pao shrimp
And Asked for hot and sour soup. Was told they ran out and I would get an additional appetizer. Ok, I was hungry so stuck it out. The Kung Pao shrimp, only celery, peanuts, shrimp. Light sauce! Super bland! Worst I have ever had. Shrimp was ok but missing pepper and onions. Lots of crunchy celery though which is bizarre. The appetizer was chicken wing burnt, dry and bland. I later received the forgotten egg roll. Egg roll was ok. The rice was crunchy and under cooked. Overall, the price was spot on but the food was below average. I did note that while I was there, several of the employees were sitting eating with other family members what appeared to be soup. Staff seemed nice, prices seemed good and the wine and beer prices were great. $ 4 for a decent glass of wine. Food, not so much! Maybe because it was end of the lunch rush? Too bad. Bummer! I won’t be back.

There are not a lot of places that deliver to my apartment complex, this is the only chinese one. They are quick and decently priced. That being said convenience does not really help in this case. The lemon chicken was dry and the sauce was basically lemon curd filling but hot. The portions are huge which for the money is great but it wasnt worth re-​heating. The Sweet and sour chicken was not bad but again the chicken was very dry. I’m willing to try again with different dishes, but honestly I don’t have high expectations.

Eh. The food was hot, fresh, and my sweet and sour pork had the perfect breading. That’s about all that was remarkable. Everything was really bland. The egg flower soup tasted like thickened water. If it wasn’t for the chunks of vegetables, it would be perfect for a dysphagia diet. It’s also very odd that they won’t substitute fried rice or noodles for an extra cost instead of steamed rice. Overall, I probably won’t return.

The service and food here is great! This family owned establishment on the weekdays at lunch offers a really fair priced buffet and at night they a regular Chinese style restaurant. The owner Benny is very hands on and trains each one of his employees and his entire family helps to run the place. Cleanliness, food quality, customer service, and appearance are all top priority here at this place.

Never disappoints. Cheap, fast, and delivery. The only dish I do not like here is the Kung Poa. Everything else I have had, has been very good!

Def not worth the $ 44 bill. Service was outstanding, I wish the food could have stood up to it. Everything was extremely bland and flavorless. Also, some of the Caucasian staff look as though they are long overdue a bath.

Love it! So good!!! Always get delivery and pig out. Don’t forget to ask for chop sticks. It makes it so fun!!!

I’m only giving four starts because it was the first time ordering from here and I only tried two things. However, they were really good, they delivered to my house with no issues at all. Good on prices too, for the amount of food you get. I will definitely try more in the future.

The food here tastes very bland. I tried giving this place another try but it just wasn’t good. Won’t be returning

I ordered the egg flower soup, egg rolls and wanted teriyaki chicken but talked into getting the paper chicken. The soup tasted very bland; tasted like hot water. To sum it up I was very disappointed with the entire meal so I called them back and complained about the food and they gave me my money back.

Absolutely the best Chinese food around I have been coming here since 1988 with the same owners and the same consistent awesome food go see them tell Benny Jeff sent you enjoy

Great service, great food, very size able portions. Would definitely come back.
We were seated quickly, waited on quickly and the food arrived quickly even though they were very busy.
They had more to go orders than sit down dining, but their service to the sit down diners did not suffer at all.

Came for lunch with my mother in law.
We chose this place based on Unilocal reviews.
The lunch buffet was very limited.
So we ordered off the lunch menu.
It says lunch comes with a soup and appetizer.
Neither of which were our choosing.
We got hot and sour soup– which I can’t eat.
The appetizer was a fried chicken wing– I expected an egg roll.
The chicken wing was gross.
For lunch I ordered cashew chicken.
The flavor was decent.
The food was hot.
WAY too much celery.
I asked for fried rice instead of steamed rice– it was an up charge of 1.50
(Ok I understand)
However, the fried rice was barely warm– not fresh–
I saw them take it from the lunch buffet.
We will not be returning.

Read the reviews so thought we would try the lunch buffet. The buffet was limited. So we ordered off the menu. Upcharge for fried rice which came from the buffet. Soup and appetizer came from buffet as well. None of it was warm. Ordered Kung pao which was labeled as spicy. It was sweet but had lots of shrimp.

Not only is the food great but the people are so kind. Today I stopped in for a quick lunch and took notice of a homeless man who had come to the door. He was quickly greeted by an employee who escorted him out and engaged him in conversation. When the employee came back in I questioned him as to if he fed that man and he told me they did. Everyday instead of throwing food left over away they feed this man. This is such a wonderful small restaurant that is doing something great.

I am beginning to question this place cleanliness and the workers personal hygiene. They started off with good food but now have gotten bad over the months. They are thawing their meat in the back hallway on the ground that they share with ups. The last trip really gross me out. There was hair in our fried rice and hair on our cups sitting on the table.

We ordered lunch from them, because they had so many good reviews. We ordered appetizers, four entrees and chow mein. We were so excited to try it, but as soon as we got it we knew something was up. It smelled bad, like rotten vegetables. We could barely eat it. All of it tasted tainted like it was baked with rotten cabbage. We were so disappointed. There are hundreds of choices between silverdale and bremerton, I’d choose somewhere else to eat.

Always good food and friendly service.
We love that all their food including the potsticker’s and eggroll’s are made in house fresh daily.

When left to fend for myself, my favorite meal of all appears to be Chinese food… it doesn’t matter if it is dine-​in, take-​out or delivery… I like Chinese food.
I have perhaps dined in most if not all, Chinese restaurants in Kitsap County, but it has been some time since I’ve enjoyed the Mandarin Restaurant.
Tonight I felt like delivery, so I ordered Chicken Chow Mein… lots of veggies, some chicken and a great sauce. I also ordered Pork Egg Foo Young… not bad, I’ve had tastier… then of course I «need» hot & sour soup.
My meal arrived hot… very tasty… quick delivery… and at an agreeable cost.
This restaurant is owned and operated by Bennie and his family, along with two local gentlemen that have worked with Bennie for quite a number of years. The restaurant has been a success for perhaps 15 – 20 years. That speaks loudly for the meals that are prepared and the level of customer service.
Awesome…easly a 5-​star!!!
